Mitsu's ears perked curiously as Lizzy mentioned the names of her minis. Her eyes were bright and alert with the same said curiosity, such a difference when they were hidden behind the mask. Her face was rather expressive especially in combination with her ears. "What kind of minis are those?"
It didn't seem like she was going to spare Shun from the questions either, those large red eyes turning to him next. "D-do you have any other minis?" So far she had only seen Bent-tail and that's all she had ever heard Shun mention...though he really didn't say much at all.
Milo's eyes followed the fork of noodles with intense interest as Lizzy deposited a couple more noodles on the lid for the little mini to eat. For as small as he was Milo could certain put away the food. No doubt if he wasn't watched carefully he would easily get overweight.
Tail swishing behind him, Milo made his way over to the lid and started to eat his own share of noodles next to his friend. It didn't take him long to finish the boafox quickly going about clean up, licking at his paws and rubbing at his face.

Feeling rather full and content now, Bent-Tail scampered back up the bed to nestle down in the meantime. From up there he could watch the three students more easily. That, and it was rather comfortable on the bed. The mouse let out a little yawn and lazily kept an eye on the others.
So it was as he suspected, not that there was anything wrong with her having minis of course. He was mildly curious on what they were exactly since she hadn't mentioned it, but didn't ask as Mitsu already had that covered.
After eating another ravioli, he glanced towards the wolf girl and shook his head. It was kind of amazing how much more expressive she was without the mask due to being able to see her face.
"Bent's the only one," he replied, "I've taken care of a few others for a short period, but he's the only one I've kept."
A few might have been kept in the closet, he supposed, but he didn't really consider that as keeping them as pets.

"A Pata-Pata, a Puggles and a Reigndeer," She nodded at Mitsu, grinning as she started to spear another macaroni, swirling it around the cheese before popping it into her mouth; she likes eating mac... And cheese. It's a nice combination!
For some reason she had to resist giggling at her own thoughts though. Odd.
"Is Milo your only one?" She asked before turning to look at Shun, giving the boil a smile, "Bent's really well behaved though!" She glanced briefly at the mouse currently on the bed.

Mitsu's eyes lit up for a moment when Lizzy mentioned her animals and for a second it looked like she had tried to smile but the attempt had failed. She did look genuinely interested though, those minis sounded cute. Mitsu liked cute things even if it wasn't acceptable to be cute herself.
"Y..yeah, Milo is my only one. I really haven't had him long. Mr. Adolphus doesn't like pets in the house." Which she was told she was the only exception. What exactly did that mean she still didn't know.
After he had eaten his fill and cleaned up Milo joined Bent up on the bed curling in around the miced tea, his tail engulfing the both of them. He had a full belly so it was time for a nap now. Later it would be play time...yess...sweet sweet play time.

Glancing at Mitsu, Shun noticed that she was smiling now. It was a little strange in a way, seeing how he had just seen the mask up until now. It was actually a nice smile and he continued to be kind of baffled for her reasoning. Shaking his head to himself he turned his attention to Lizzy.
"..A reigndeer?" he repeated. Those things were incredibly hard to come by if he recalled correctly.
"He is... most of the time," he commented regarding Bent-Tail's behavior.
The mouse glanced towards the fox as he came up to the bed as well. Tilting his head, he soon let out a happy noise while nestling against the soft tail of Milo's. Yes. This was rather comfortable. He could fall asleep rather easily right now. And so he did.

"Awww," She responded before giggling, "I love having pets around, if you can't already tell! It's a shame you didn't get to keep them before, but at least you have Milo now!" She returned the ghoul's sort of smile with a smile of her own, glancing at the bed where the boafox was curled up on before looking at Mitsu again, "And he's gorgeous!"
She popped another macaroni into her mouth, chewing and swallowing it before nodding at Shun, "Let's just say that it was a... Uh, souvenir from a field trip to X'mas Town. We don't really like to talk about it."
It was a cakewalk compared to foggy island of doom though. Ugh. Foggy island of doom.

Mitsu certainly looked interested now, her eyes ablaze with curiosity. "Oh, you went to Christmas town?" She had heard stories about the place but had never gone herself. A place covered in cold and white, she wanted to see it for herself! But...from the way Lizzy spoke and considering what she said it apparently hadn't been a trip of leisure.
"What other kind of field trips have you gone on at this school?" Mitsu was curious to know what she might have to look forward to. Her old school never really took them much of anywhere.

Shun had heard a few vague stories of the school's trip to Christmas town. He hadn't picked up on a whole lot, outside of the field trip occurring. It didn't sound like it was all too pleasant of an experience in any case, not that he really expected it to. That place was just full of JOY from what he had heard.
Aside from that, he did hear something about an island excursion but that was about all he knew. Lizzy had mentioned the false reapers from that place during their first meeting and that there was a lot of fog or something along those lines. Perhaps he could get some more information on it now. If he was going to be sticking around the school, he supposed it might be good to know what sort of field trips he might be shoved onto in the future.
"The school recently came from another field trip if I recall," he said,"From some island."

"Uh..." She looked at Mitsu and the expression on her face - how to say no to that face? - before looking at Shun with a sort of semi-pleading expression in a 'please don't make me say it' kind of way. However, judging from the expression on his face, he was probably curious about the school's field trips too.
She paused, not sure if she should tell them about the type of 'field trips' the school likes to take them on. After all 'I died in both field trips I had been to since my enrollment in Amity' is hardly what most new students would like to hear. Then again, they do have a right to know...
"I'll spare you the details," She grew serious all of a sudden as she frowned, lowering her fork down into the container as she looked at Mitsu and then at Shun, "But school field trips? They're normally dangerous... I do not know what sort of a family you came from, but I doubt anything can really prepare you for what this school puts their students through. There's a reason Amity is one of the best schools in this district, after all."
Another pause followed as she allowed them to digest what she had said before she continued, "On the Christmas trip, several students were killed by some sort of a Christmas ninja. Near the end of the trip, a fire dragon beast the size of a hill burnt a couple of students into nothing but FEAR particles - me included. We were revived in Christmas town immediately after dying though..." A couple of weeks ago, she would have shuddered at the memory. Now?
"All that was just a walk through the park on a moonlit light, compared to the most recent field trip," Her frown deepened, and her grip on the fork tightened, "The island. That foggy island... Out of the whole Year 1 student body who went, less than a quarter survived to the end of that trip... I had to see my friends get attacked one after the other. My friends had to see me die... After I died, I didn't get revived straight away. I floated above the island, my sight intact. I could see the island, but I could not help the friends I had left behind. I had no idea if they survived, or if I would be there, floating forever..."
She closed her eyes, taking in a deep breath before opening them again, offering her 'listeners' a small smile, "But yet, if I didn't have my friends beside me on that island, I would probably never have found the courage to survive that long. Sometimes, dying would seem like the easier way out... But never believe that. Even on campus, please don't wander around alone. If you see a reaper with a weapon that feels like it's draining you of your FEAR, run. Tell the staff immediately. It's the headmistress' orders."
Okay, maybe she did go into details after all.
"Please don't think badly of the school," She added, her smile widening a little, "What doesn't kill you permanently only makes you stronger and we all came out a little more... Mature after that. Friendship bonds are important. I hope you understand that one day~" She looked at Shun with a small smile as she said that before popping a macaroni into her mouth.
"Aw, it's cold now," She pouted slightly, going back to her usual self as she poked at her food, "It's better warm."

Mitsu looked rather confused when Lizzy's tone turned serious her story of the field trips not starting off so well to the lupine. Her face continued to fall the further and further into the story the demon spider got. At the end Mitsu looked all but scared for her life. Where had Mr. Adolphus sent her to??? He said he was sending her someplace to build up her character and learn what it was to truly be a monster. This sounded like she would be facing certain death on a normal basis!
Christmas town sounded horrible. Mitsu had envisioned something much more.....happy? Not Christmas Ninjas and dragon beasts the side of hills! And the island she spoke of...that sounded terrible. Not only had Mitsu never died but she couldn't imagine just floating about not sure if you would come back. And these false reapers, hadn't the Head Mistress said something about them on her first few days at school? Mitsu hadn't really understood then but it sounded very serious.
In the end Mitsu couldn't help but grab for her mask like a security blanket and put it back on her face. She may not had been done eating but she wanted to hide the fear she was feeling at the moment. The werewolf didn't want to die. She wasn't courageous like a lot of the other monsters of her race, dive head in and don't look back.

Though he had heard things, the information he just received made things more serious than he had originally thought. Looking a bit grimmer than usual, Shun finished off his ravioli while taking in the details of the two field trips. He was curious of these false-reapers, though they certain were a foe to be reckoned with.
It did explain why Lizzy had acted rather strange around him when they first met on that misty rainy night.
Snapping from his thoughts, he looked to the side to see Mitsu putting her mask back on. Before that, he caught the look of terror on her face. This information must have really freaked her out.
"Sometimes, the harshest of training is what's most effective," he said darkly, speaking a little bit from experience. However, in the back of his mind, he had to wonder if it was these field trips that were the real reason his damn father had wanted to send him here, "I wouldn't worry too much though, Mitsu."

"Maybe, but there's a hefty price to pay for all that 'training'," She simply replied Shun before scooting closer to Mitsu, wrapping her arms around the ghoul and pulling her in for a hug, patting her head gently as her expression and tone softened, "It's alright to be scared. Imagine a world without fears... That would be a rather boring place, yes? Never let fear get the better of you though..."
Again, why friends are important - to serve as an anchor.
"Your friends wouldn't let anything happen to you if they can help it," She was referring to herself, and by extension, Shun as well, "But the reason you're in school is to learn to be stronger so you can do the same for yourself and them." All this time, she continued to gently pat Mitsu on her head, between her ears.

The werewolf wasn't used to receiving hugs which wasn't hard to tell by the way she initially flinched before relaxing into Lizzy's hold. Hesitantly her own arms started to wrap around the spider demon in return finding it to be oddly comforting. How was it something as simple as this could help lighten the blow so much?
Though, Mitsu had to admit, Shun's first few words weren't of much encouragement. The harshest training was often the most effective? That....certainly sounded like something Mr. Adolphus would say. At least he had told her not to worry.
With a slight nod, Mitsu stayed put where she was, enjoying the head pats quite a bit. From time to time she would tilt her head into the pat much like a regular dog, her ears laying back as she did so. "I hope I can get stronger...I don't want to be a burden." Her fear was that she would hold everyone up and be the cause of others getting hurt if these field trips were truly like Lizzy described.

"All power comes with a price, Lizzy," he said while looking towards her, "That price may differ from case to case, but there is always one. It never comes free."
It wasn't the most pleasant thing to think about, but it was a truth for him.
Shun closed the now empty container to his food and turned his attention towards the masked girl, thinking for a moment before speaking up.
"It's what you're here for isn't it?" he said, going along with what Lizzy had said before, "No one.. wants to be useless. Push yourself hard enough and you won't be."
Now this was something he wanted to be truth, but it didn't seem to live up for him all the time. Then again, perhaps he hadn't been pushing himself hard enough during those cases. It was hard to say.

"You'll get stronger," She continued with the head pats, enjoying it as much as Mitsu did, "I'm sure of it... Although I head from somewhere that the thing you have to overcome first is yourself. You need to be a little more confident... Or at least try to be." She tapped on Mitsu's mask lightly, offering the ghoul a small smile, "Starting by taking this off... Over lunch was good~ I hope I get to see your face again soon."
Looking up at Shun, she just nodded in silent agreement; it's true. Too bad the price they had to pay for that lesson probably scarred most of them rather deeply.
"Well, don't worry too much about field trips for now," She gave Mitsu one last squeeze and ruffled her hair a little before releasing her from the hug, "Just enjoy school, make some new friends... You know, have fun. You don't have to be all doom and gloom like our friend over there." She might have glanced at Shun briefly before giggling, "Life will get boring otherwise~"
