Griffin walked past security and nervously fiddled with her necklace and then with her rings. So this was prom, huh? Though she was a Shlip student now, she was only 18 and she guessed that plenty of kids her were her age or older. She'd wanted to come to the dance since she heard of it, but only to do so ironically or for a good story. But here she was, without a date and sooooo late to the party, and they had Justin Beiber?! She might as well turn around and walk out the door right now, but secretly she knew every word to the chorus of "Baby" and had once made a dance to it with a friend at a party.
Her blue eyes squinted under the twinkling lights as she scanned for a familiar face. Maybe some other prep students had come as a joke? She was silently praying for even someone in a single class who she knew. Without having any luck so far, Griffin reasoned the best place to continue her search without looking so awkward and out of place would be at the punch table. Heck, if she'd known it was spiked she may have made her way over there sooner.
But as she neared the table, she squinted and... yes! Oh thank god, she recognized someone. It was Talia, an upperclassman at Crystal Academy, her own alma mater. Griffin breathed a sigh of relief and walked on over, brushing some hair behind her ear that she knew wouldn't stay back there.
"Talia, hey." Griffin might have spoken too softly, using her inside voice at the rather loud prom, but she smiled gently and leaned over to pour herself a drink, as though she'd been coming over to slake her thirst this whole time, and seeing Talia was just a coincidence rather than her clinging to someone she knew at the crowded prom.

She took his brushing off of her absence in stride... at least it was much better than him making a scene about it. Though, Adira supposed if he was angry he probably would not have come over and wrapped his arms around her. The tux explanation and the offer to dance got her giggling. At least she knew now where Bo got his interesting fashion sense from!
"Sure, so long as we can keep it a little classy." Adira winked, falling rather easily back into their old habits of jokes and light conversations. A glance to the side confirmed some rather ridiculous alcohol inspired dance moves, and at least two kids now had passed out from consuming too much overly spiked punch. Tonight was prom night, probably the first and only prom she'd ever be able to attend in her life.
It wasn't the time for serious conversations, and it certainly wasn't the time to bring up where Bodhi Hanley's affections truly lie. Adira wasn't quite ready to know yet, and the conversation would come in time. Tonight was about fun, and even though she'd arrived late the girl was planning on having some.
Well, not as much fun as some of the people drunk off of punch were, but certainly enough fun for her. "Lets dance." Adira grabbed Bo's lapels and pulled him out as best as she could onto the dance floor, leading the much taller boy backwards.

Azzo didn't actually know how old Bieber was, but from just what he'd seen he would assume the kid wasn't much older than 14 or 15. Then again, Azzo knew what they said about assuming, he smiled at Ginevieve when she started talking about how much she knew of Aurora, "That would about cover it." He agreed.
"Granted Aurora is a killer cook." He added there was a pause when he was asked to stomach the music and go inside with the younger girl. He eventually nodded, "Of course, no sense in standing out here all night holding up the wall. I'm sure it won't go anywhere for a while if we walk inside." He was joking, slightly.
He offered his arm to lead her into the 'ball' room. "Speaking of, what's your name?" He asked curiously. Knowing since he'd attended Meadowview and she had attended Crystal he wouldn't know her to start with.

She laughed appropriately at the wall joke, knowing full well with the powers that be in Destiny City that was a fairly real possibility... But no. Tonight was about being a teenager and repaying a favor no matter how much that favor had irked her. Taking his arm lightly she held herself straight and beamed. This was going well and maybe she'd meet more new people. But her new escort was definitely enough for now.
"Genevieve!" she answered brightly. "And yours?" The teenaged girl found herself actually enjoying talking to him even though it felt and probably was completely awkward. It was all friendly enough however, and she was sure once they both loosened up a little or the music stopped being gross they would have more to talk about.
She was forcefully optimistic. As in: If things weren't half full she was going to fill that mother ******** glass until it was.

Azzo seemed pleased that the girl laughed at his joke. Humor wasn't something he'd had much of, though there were occasions that called for lighter spirits.
"Nice to meet you Genevieve, mine is Azzo." He replied with a slight hum. "I know it's not the appropriate music, but do you know how to waltz?" Azzo was use to having more Waltzy type affairs, due to his grandfather's type of work he was often off on grand ballroom adventures. Ones that Azzo didn't always find so grand and adventurous but non-the-less he often enjoyed the ones he attended.
As far as teeny boppers and the dances the kids were doing that were way too close together Azzo didn't think they were 'right' for a prom. Yeah, he was old fashioned, probably about as old fashioned as his generation got.

The cast of Glee silenced their songs as a finely-dressed woman made her way to the center of the stage. She tapped on the microphone twice before speaking.
"Ladies and gentlemen, fine esteemed students and then those of Hillworth," she said with a s**t-eating grin. "I am pleased to announce that the ballots for prom king and queen have been counted and it is time to announce this year's elected winners! May I have a drum roll please?"
"The Destiny City 2011 Prom King is...Bodhi Hanley! Congratulations Bodhi!" she applauded as a man entered the stage with a large crown placed on a velvet cushion for the king to wear. Around his arm was a sash and he held a tiny wand in his hand.
"And the 2011 Prom Queen is...Daphne Xanis! Congratulations Daphne!" she applauded again as another woman entered the stage with a tiara placed on a cushion, accompanied with a sash and wand to match the King's.
"If the king and queen would like to say a few words, they are welcome to use the microphone once they are crowned and sashed," she said.

What. She was what?! Eyes narrowed at Elzo whose arms she was wrapped in at the time of the announcement as the bluenette vaguely remembered him drifting over towards the box labelled clearly as VOTES while she'd been catching her breath from dancing. But who else in the world would have voted for her? She'd seen Zac and alright maybe he would have....Marlo? Would he?
It seemed rather unreal.
There was a light nudge from someone in the crowd and almost in a daze Daphne walked up on the stage to accept the ceremonial crowning, sashing, and shoving of a microphone in her face. "Uhm...wow I am really sorta stunned!" That was an understatement. Somehow, in under two years, Audrey Collins had gone from alone and dumpy to married, adored, and Prom Queen. How did something like that happen?! Out in the crowd, she could see her cousin Victoria unwittingly glaring absolute daggers while her date held her rather tightly.
That brought a wide grin to the Prom Queen's face and she kept chugging along. "Thanks to everyone who voted for me and here's to world peace." The scepter was lifted, the mic pushed away from her face, and the self-amused grin stuck as her shoulders sagged and the spotlight moved on. The guy, Bodhi?, who was her Prom King had looked pretty fun. If they were going to be forced to dance together it certainly wouldn't be awkward!
His speech might actually be legendary.

Vicky grinned as Blake twirled her around, happy that Prom was going so well. Blake was actually being a gentleman, they both looked amazing and at the end of the night they'd be voted Prom Queen & King, they just had to.
It was a couple dances later when the announcement was made and the redhead was clinging to Blake's arm nearly bubbling with excitement. Her name would be announced and a crown put on her head and she'd have it all. The dream prom would be hers.
"And the 2011 Prom Queen is" Vicky was nearly bouncing with excitement at this point. Her name was coming up next. Victoria Collins. "...Daphne Xanis!" The eighteen year old froze as somebody else's name was called. Her manicured fingernails dug into Blake's arm, and he was lucky she didn't tear it off. It took all her control not to become Petal and rip that horrible girl's starseed right out of her chest. That crown was supposed to be hers! Victoria Collins was supposed to be prom Queen, not that Daphne girl, whoever she was.
She was about to march up on stage and rip the crown off her too blue hair and demand a recount, but unfortunately for her Blake kept her in place even as she was seething. She settled instead for sending death glares at Daphne and plotting her revenge.

Guen nearly jumped out of her own skin, surprised by her friend's arrival. "Talia, hi!" "Oh, I'm sorry Bebe!" She turned back to the other young lady, looking slightly embarrassed. "This is a friend of mine, she goes to Crystal too! I think I told her about you, it's so nice that we all arrived at the same time!" Her expression brightened considerably. The night was really looking up. Despite the music, the crowd of complete strangers, and the fact that she hadn't really been sleeping much lately due to her recent, ah, late night activities, Guen thought she might finally have some fun. She took a step back then, to admire Talia's outfit - the bright orange looked really good against her hair and skin. "You're not looking bad yourself," she joked, offering her free arm to the other girl. She looked around the room when she heard someone call Talia's name, though. It looked like it was a very pretty upperclassmen- or perhaps a recent high school graduate? She didn't recognize her, but she nudged her friend. "Hey, is that someone you know? I think she went to Crystal?" She smiled in a welcoming manner at the new person. It looked like she'd come alone, too. Well, they could form their own ladies' stag night group, at this point.

There was nothing in the world that would've taken Bo's attention off of Adira in that moment. He loved how she tugged him to the dance floor, and he was happy to indulge her by dancing like an idiot. Even when the music died down and the announcer took to the microphone, Bo kept dancing, attempting to dip and twirl Adira without music. "We don't need no stinkin' music," he said, bringing his face close to hers.
It was only when friends starting calling his name and clapping him on the shoulder that Bo realized anything was up. "I'm Prom King?" he said dumbly. Then he turned to Adira gripping her on both arms. "I'm Prom King, all right!" Dipping in, he planted a quick kiss on each one of her cheeks and then scooted off toward the stage, one fist pumping in the air.
Bo opted not to take the stairs and instead leaped up onto the stage, nearly tripping. He towered above the announcer, but still grinned like an elementary school boy who'd just taken first prize in the spelling bee. The girl -- oh, hey, Elzo's girlfriend! -- went to the microphone first. Bo was making a show of lofting his scepter high to the crowd. He finally had to be pushed forward by the announcer when it was his turn to speak.
Grabbing the stand with one hand, Bo grinned from ear to ear. "Hey, everybody -- I just wanna say thanks for, you know, having faith in me and stuff. It's totally righteous that you liked me enough to put me up here. Just wanna send some good vibes out to everyone, especially Adira Perses -- look how pretty she is tonight." Bo pointed at Adira in the crowd with his scepter. "Let's clap for Adira -- nah, let's clap for all the beautiful ladies in this room. You're all Queens to me!" He began clapping loudly. Some might have thought this boy was drunk, but anyone who knew him would understand that this was just... Bo. At his finest. "I'll be a good king, a just king. And Elzo, man, I promise I'll treat her right!" He laughed and went for a high five with Daphne.
The announcer started to approach him. He was going on too long. Tilting the microphone to one side, Bo shouted, "Peace and love, guys! It's a dark a** world out there, but we can make it better for everyone. Love your neighbor!" The woman was trying to take the microphone now. "Be good to each other! Tip your waitresses!" Bo released the microphone, kissed the announcer on the cheek, and then did a front flip off the stage.
He jogged all the way to Adira, lifted her up, and then spun her in a circle. It never occurred to him to stick around for a King and Queen dance. Bo just wanted to dance with the world~

Fallon didn't notice that her name was not called. She was a couple sheets to the wind and attempting to wrestle Eilian off to some corner as soon as the music stopped, muttering something like, "I feel like my mother, how weird." She had switched from punch to water -- this was a good thing. "Justin Bieber would make a pretty girl," she said absentmindedly, watching the stage.

When Daphne's name was called Elzo had to do a double take. Who- wait. what? Dayum. Now if that wasn't proof that he totally had the prettiest, most amazing girl in the city, he didn't know what was. "Go, get up there." He gave her a nudge, and grin. She had never been the center of attention, and now she was. Not only that but it was something they had missed out on. Mundane little things like prom, key events like this that had all but been stolen by life in a war they were told to fight in for the sake of the unknown.
Of course, the fact that Bo of all people got crowned king of all things had Elzo's sides splitting with laughter. If there was one guy who would make a king, it was Bo, that much was certain. Elzo made a mental note to invite him over for a drink sometime when Daphne would be out. She didn't need to see her husband and his friend drunk and playing videogames in their boxers while feasting on junk food. As Daphne accepted her role with all the elegance and grace he totally knew she possessed, (honestly, she was gliding like goddamn angel), Elzo gave a few good wolf whistles, turning to see someone he knew looking ready to kill. "Oh come on, Vicky. Daphne never listens to me when I tell her how beautiful or amazing she is, this will help prove my case. Besides." He smirked at her date. "I'm sure there is somebody in this crowd who would love to be your knight in shining armor and make queen of their castle." Blue eyes flicked back to her. "It also gives you the excuse to go shopping for even better clothes. But if you'll excuse me, I have to fetch my wife before Bo tries to make off with her."
Running to the stage, Elzo laughed as Bo gave his speach. "Don't you lay a finger on her Bo! King or not I'll kick your a**, I called dibs ages ago!" Elzo rushed on stage, bulldozing his way past the announcer, only to lock lips with Daphne in the most dramatic way he could. "After all, A queen must first be a princess, and for every princess, they have a prince don't they?" Elzo may have picked her up bridal style with the intent to whisk her back to the dance floor.
They needed to dance again.

"Ah," he replied knowing who she meant though he himself had never actually been introduced to the pink haired general. No, he had only seen her in passing but it was hard to miss the brightly colored general, especially when her uniform, like his, was covered in pink. As his date laughed nervously when he asked her to dance he chuckled softly.
Though it must be frustrating for her to not know what she was, or wasn't, good at, he found it to be adorable. "Don't worry," he whispered as he took her hand in his and placed them on his shoulders and let his hands fall and settle on her waist. "Just follow my lead," he instructed as he began to lead them in a simple slow dance.
He had never been fond of the dance classes that his mother had put him through yet they certainly seemed to come in handy lately, first with the snow dancer and now here with Kaia. It was a slow and simple dance that he led but it seemed almost perfect for the pair. He was oblivious as the prom king and queen were announced.

Sova fingered the edge of her dress and clung to Sorrin's arm lightly as she walked into prom, feeling strange. Dinner had been alright, but entering an environment with so many people made her skin crawl. She felt strange in her nice dress, an the only aspect that gave her comfort was the soft clunk of her boots on the hard floor. This was all so foreign.
It appeared they were in the middle of the prom royalty speeches, but Sova wasn't bothered. The more engrossed in their activities they were, the less likely she was to get weird stares. She wiggled her fingers nervously against Sorrin's arm and took a deep breath. This didn't have to be bad.

Sorrin was all grins as the two wandered into the prom, sure they were late, but dinner was nice, nothing had gone wrong and so for the two of them had been enjoying their evening. His own tux was black with a vest to match Sova's dress. As they walked he offered a wave to Elzo nodding, "Seem's your lady left you for royalty on the stage?"
Turning towards Sova he smiled tilting his head ever so slightly, "Don't be so stressed, no ones watching us. And you still have your lucky boots." He waves his own foot, a pair of vans on them. "We can be the odd shoe couple at prom." Smiling still he looked towards the dance floor, "So would you care to dance now that we have arrived or perhaps a drink from the punch bowl?"
Of course neither of them knew that the bowl was spiked yet....

((Hope it's okay that I'm posting these. These can technically be entrances and exits if need be heart ))
Prom. It had been a date firmly marked on Aurora's calender from the day it's date had been announced and confirmed. Dances were an important thing, social occassions that were almost required for a lady like girl (as opposed to the trashy... club dancing that less decent girls flocked to). It was an occassion to dress up like a princess, to use your most refined ettiquette and manners. Or atleast, that was the impression she'd gotten from them.
The absolute cherry on the top of the sundae had been the fact that at the last moment the charming Mr Howl Wickham had swooped in like a knight in armor and asked her to go. Sure they weren't madly in love. Sure they wouldn't stare into each others eyes beneath the sparkling lights as they danced slowly. But that didn't in anyway make it less magical.
In a modest, but sparkling, purple and blue dress Aurora had let herself be led out of the limo by her date and from that moment she seemed dazzled by the whole experience. His choice of corsage had been beautiful, and he himself looked incredibly dashing. His hand on her wrist was so princelike, his manners so gentlemenly as she was led through the doors and to a table. The decor was as spectacular as she had imagined they might have been. The music, though for the most part unfamiliar, wasn't bad. She might have preferred a classical piece or two but the fact that others seemed to be enjoying it made it entirely delightful for her.
She spotted a few familiar faces through the evening, offering them brief hellos and girlish gushings over their attire. Azzo, who Howl had noticed and brought up, received a gentle wave and smile but nothing more. It was sweet of him to care, and it was true he'd been the one to help entertain her through many a dance or social gathering, but he hadn't asked her and Howl did. And for the most part she remained stuck to her date for the night.
She spent the evening chatting pleasantly, dancing to some of the slower songs that allowed for more of a classical and familar dance step, even giving the occassional dissaproving look to the more rowdy couples.
When the nominations had been made for king and queen she'd given Howl's hand a light squeeze, offering him a soft 'good luck'. When the results were announced and neither of their names called, she was certainly disappointed. But she shrugged it off with a soft shrug and polite clap. She didn't know either of the winners, so they must have been from other schools. It wasn't the sort of thing you let ruin such a magical night.
Aitana had rarely met other senshi out of glamour, so it was a bit of a surprise to see Regulus... no Jaimie, when he had showed up at the door of her foster home. He looked different, and yet.. she could pick out small things that were the same the harder she looked. He was an attractive guy, a bit older than her, and his outfit was deliciously delightful. The browns, the greens, the creams, her grin had cracked wide when it settled on the lion belt buckle that held up his pants. She was jealous a little in fact!
Her dress was a sleek and long white, with soft green lace accenting here and there. Her hair, usually in braids, was left loose and styled uncombed, letting the strands clump in many very loose waves with tiny flowers splattered here and there like a viney forest.
It was Aitana's first real dance so when they arrived at the dance she nearly tried to drag him across the floor. They needed to dance! And eat! And talk to people, and poke decorations, and maybe heckle the band at little, and well just about everything else they could possibly manage.
