It seemed that things were not going Nightmare's way. Kleio found her yet again, and it wasn't a friendly exchange in the least. Aegle once again found Iduna, for the other valk hadn't gotten very far before her leader had tracked her down again. Silly valks, you gotta do better than that!

Nightmare swore rather loudly. She thought of the remaining three valks, that she had the most welts out of all of them. At least for today she had four new ones to join the old ones. Which meant that she only had one more mark to go before she'd be out of the running. Growling under her breath Nightmare tried to find a better hiding place. She wasn't giving up without a fight.

Nocturne heard yet another round of cries, she looking about, pulling the grass and dead leaves in close to her body, she had to remain hidden, she had to.

And so, Iduna got another swat in a row. She bit her lip, realizing that she was found very quickly. As soon as Aegle left, the Valkyrie made a beeline to the same hollowed tree that helped her before; this idea might have been seen as weird by her sisters, but she didn't care...
After all, Iduna really didn't want to face the leader a third time!

And for Nightmare, it was over. Aegle looked at the two remaining valks and smiled. One of these two would lead the scouts.
"Tomorrow I have some different planned for you two. Nocturne will go with Kleio, and Iduna will come with me after we meet here. Your job is to keep up with us as we run a scout circuit. Provided you can keep up, that is."
((From here on out, please roll a 1-6 die. The point is to stay within eyesight (15 paces) of Kleio and Aegle. 1 means crit failure, and you fall 3 paces behind. 2-3 is falling 2 paces behind, 4 is one pace behind, 5 means maintaining your pace, and 6 is recovering a pace. First person to fall 16+ paces behind looses. Good luck. Please roll with your new posts! To miss a post is to auto get a crit failure! ))

Relieved that it was over, Iduna muttered a small thank you to the Goddess, before coming up to Aegle and Kleio. The Valkyrie stood there composed, not wanting to show anything that would consider her 'weak', specially at this part of the challenge. Bowing once again, she went home for a well deserved rest.
The next morning, she made her way to the area for the last time. Iduna then started to warm-up, just as she always did.

The next morning, Nocturne woke and went to the training field. She looked to Kleio and smiled, this would be the deciding factor, she had to do this, she had to keep up. She stood before the young Valkyrie, bowing her head. "I am ready for this."

((I should give myself a crit. failure. >__> Sorry this has taken so long. D: ))
Kleio nodded to Nocturne and turned to begin the scouting path without another word being spoken between the two. If the valk said she was ready, there was no reason to double check. The heir took her at her word and began to take off. However, it seemed that Nocturne was not ready for such a sudden depature, and was suddenly two paces behind the other valk, instead of side by side with her.
No words were spoken between Iduna and Aegle, and the leader of the mountain valks took off on a similar path but in another direction. She wasn't sure if the scout would be able to keep up with her run, but apparently nothing was going to stop Iduna! The younger valk was having no problems keeping up with Aegle for now...
(( Iduna: 0 paces behind Nocturne: 2 paces behind ))

Nocturne did not like the way this started, Kleio was fast and obviously younger than her. He started off after the other, trying to gain her lost ground.

What a great way to start! Iduna shot a glance at Aegle, before quickly focusing back on the road before her. Hopefully the leader wouldn't use that moment to run off in the other direction.

No matter how hard Nocturne tried, apparently it was not the Goddess' will for her to keep pace with Kleio. The valk continued to fall behind the red head as the girl took to the air and was even faster that way than she was on the ground.
Aelge indeed did turn the other direction, but Iduna seemed to not fall too far behind. The leader had to wonder how the other valk was doing. Was she doing as well with Kleio?

Nocturne lept into the air and followed after the woman, she whispering a soft prayer to her goddess that she would not fail at this, she had failed so much at everything else in her life so far.

That sudden turn made Iduna's foot scrape against the road. Biting her lower lip at the pain, she willed her legs to recover the pace, she had to keep this up!

It seemed like Nocturne's prayers weren't being heard. She continued to fall behind by paces, and not recovering a step in the least. Iduna as well fell another step behind Aegle, but was not far behind to start. But a Goddess' favors could change in the blink of an eye, and Synthia was known to change her blessings from valk to valk if their prayers were strong enough.
(( Iduna: 2 pace behind Nocturne: 7 paces behind ))
