Smiling, the crow thought it was sweet and yet so sad Ludovich couldn't keep his crow form with his explenation. It seemed so vague to the avion, even now, the memories of being in two seperate places; as a crow and as a fey. He wondered if it would ever happen again, and he hoped it wouldn't. Seeing Ludovich cry, it tore him apart.
The crow shivered, each feather in his skin twitching along with him. He gave a soft coo as he breathed. Feeling the young man beneath his wing, it was so lovely, the fey couldn't concieve it. The answer to his question seemed to disturb Corvus more than he wanted it to. He felt terrible... Not for the ones he murdered, but he worried for Ludovich. In a hush whisper, he said "I'm scared... I don't ever want to hurt you..." Corvus was honestly afraid he could have. Or actually, almost had.
To the black bird, it was almost ironic. "Ludovich, I almost killed you, too." He admitted, dryly. "And not just because you went outside..." The light touch to his cheek startled him for a moment before he touched his own hand to Ludo's with soft black down.
The response he was given, about the star, it made Corvus share a small smile, slightly weary. Certainly it felt so endearing Now that everything was beginning to sink in properly, he began to fear himself and the safety of the man he held in his arms. "Ludovich... Were you scared? Or... Are you scared? I'm afraid I'm more selfish than you think I am, Ludovich." Corvus couldn't help but speak in a quiet murmur, as if afraid something or someone would overhear them, or perhaps he didn't want to disturb their time together, like this.

Ludovich~Arneson It takes two to murder
The brunette listened quietly as the other told him he was scared and frowned softly. He wanted to tell him that that was a silly thing to worry about and that he knew Corvus would never hurt him, but those words never crossed his lips. Instead he just stayed silent and froze for a moment. Had he just said...? No, he had to have heard him wrong. Corvus would never....or would he?
Dark eyes searched the crow for a moment, searching for sign that he'd heard what he thought he had. They soon focused back on the actual person Corvus though as he asked him a question that caused him to frown. "Scared? Nah. I wasn't scared, nor am I scared," the killer fibbed as he looked up to the other," and you can say your selfish all you want, but you aren't that bad. There are people who are far worse." Like myself. A voice said in the back of his mind, but the words did not cross his lips. He didn't want Corvus to hear them because of the slight fear that it would reawaken Corvus' wish to murder him.
Slender fingers continued caressing the other's cheek as he spoke and a slight smile was offered as an attempt to convince him that his words were truth. He hated hearing Corvus beat up on himself, especially after all he'd done for him. When that didn't seem to work though, he decided to change the subject. "You know...your skin is changing peach," the brunette said, hoping to distract him.

Corvus smiled bitterly. Was Ludovich lying to him? Or was he truly not afraid? He seemed a more than a little shaken before, but the crow decided not to press much further in fear of upsetting the other. Only partly listening, the crow sighed deeply. Perhaps there were people, humans, worse than he. It seemed to be what humans did best. But what of Ludovich? He hadn't followed his instructions. He began to wonder to himself he should just barricade the house, keeping him from leaving. Of course, he'd need some form of nourishment... Corvus could just bring food here, right? It would be a prison, though also a safe haven...
Cooing softly, Corvus nuzzled along with the gentle hand. The other male had then spoke and the fey took a glance at his own hands. With a slight c**k of his head, he noticed the subtle tinge of colour. "You're right," He said with a slight tone. "I noticed my skin does this... Specifically around you, Ludovich." From the crow's own observance, his skin did seem to change colours while he stayed around the blonde. His powers seem to fade and his body begins to feel... Less. Less powerful. "Maybe its a good thing..." Corvus mumbled. "My powers weaken, too. I think... I think I'm turning human the longer I stay with you. Maybe I can become fully human and stay in this world." The thought was less than enticing; Corvus was more than just prejudice against most humans, let alone would he ever want to become one. And besides, without his powers would he not be able to take care of his precious mate?
Corvus pulled away from Ludovich, his arms still holding feathers as wings. He was silent for a moment before planting a chaste kiss to the man's brow. With a stroke of his hair, he pulled back and stepped away. "Ludovich," He began solemnly. "I can't stay here. Not with you or any other humans. However I... I will stay close to you. Along the rooftops, in the shadows, even in the sky." The crow fidgeted; if it meant he could protect Ludovich, as well as keep from turning human, by all means he would leave. "I don't want to hurt you, let alone kill you, but I'm afraid I might, someday."
Corvus stepped back, eventually touching against a wall before melding into the shadows and coming out the other side. Shifting his form, he became a small crow and silently trotted along the gravel paths. He hoped deeply that Ludovich would not be too heartbroken by his abrupt decision as he took flight.

Ludovich~Arneson It takes two to murder
He seemed to have successfully changed the subject, for the other seemed to drop his previous thoughts as he talked to him about this.
Ludovich listened to the other explain, smile widening quite a bit as he went on. He loved the idea of the other becoming a full human and staying here with him. If that happened, then he wouldn't have to worry about Corvus being taken away. He'd never have to be alone again like he had almost every single day in the past. Corvus would be able to stay here by his side...forever.
The brunette held the other close at the thought and closed his eyes as he felt a simple kiss to the brow. He was so happy he-
Brown eyes opened and looked up in confusion as he felt the warmth fade away. Corvus had this look on his face, a look that made Ludovich's smile disappear. What was he doing? The brunette watched him silently as he explained, just for his heart to drop. He was.....leaving him? But why? What did he mean he couldn't stay with humans? Why couldn't he stay with him? What was going on?
Ludovich stared at him in silence as he spoke before quickly getting up as he moved to leave. "Corvus wait! I-." The brunette followed him just to bump into a wall.
Confused eyes stared silently at the slab of white just inches before his face for a few moments trying to process what had just happened. Why had the other decided to leave him? He didn't understand. Had he said something wrong or done something wrong? Why couldn't he just be by him and stay with him? Didn't he realize that that was all he wanted and all he needed? He didn't need protection or someone to watch him from afar. He could protect himself perfectly fine. What he did need was a person to be there and to care for him? Why couldn't he understand that? Why did he have to be so stupid?
Slender fingers curled up into a fist at the man's side as he thought. This wasn't fair. How come he always had to be alone? Why couldn't he ever find any sort of happiness without it having to be ruined? Why did-?
The brunette's thoughts stopped abruptly as he suddenly felt something wet leak from his hand. Dark eyes shifted down only to shift back up a moment later. He was bleeding. He'd dug his nails in so hard that he was bleeding. The brunette headed over to the bathroom at this realization and started wrapping his hand, trying his hardest not to look at the blood. He didn't want to pass out over something so small. The brunette, thus, closed his eyes and took deep breaths to calm himself. As he did, his worry about the blood started to fade as did his anger/sadness from when Corvus left.
--------------------
The young man sat there silently, just trying to calm himself down. Eventually, he moved to the living room, but other than that, nothing changed. He was numb and cold on the outside, due to his mask, but inside he was still hurting. He wanted Corvus back. He wanted to plead with him to stay, but he didn't even know where the other was. He, thus, just stared and smoked in his lounge chair, trying his hardest to stay calm so he didn't release tears in vain.
Hours past before something changed. A ringing could be heard in the room. Ludovich stared at it for awhile, just thinking, before picking it up. It was the man that had called before. Apparently he'd realized what had happened and decided Ludovich should kill the person today so that the murder would just be blamed on what had happened. The brunette frowned some at this, but agreed.
"You are correct. It would be best to do it now. I'll finish it at soon as possible," he muttered in an even tone. He then hung up the phone and moved to change. He knew Corvus had told him no, but he didn't care. That man had tugged his heartstrings around without consideration. Plus, a part of him almost wished that if he showed him he could handle himself, the other would return. It was a stupid hope and he knew it, but he didn't care. It was better to give it a shot and be murdered than to behave and be alone.
The brunette, thus, carefully grabbed what he would need and headed over to his targets home, making sure to look as unsuspicious as possible.

Corvus began to wonder, would Ludovich be alright...? They'd stayed together, but it felt like a few short days. He hoped dearly that the chaos would subside around them, and certainly prayed that Ludovich would not find himself in terrible danger, not like the first time they encountered each other. The frightening images came back to him, and the feeling of panic that had overcome him from then. Ludovich's guardian angel. But he will keep his promise. He will stay close, on the rooftops and in the shadows. The look of heartbreak on the brunette's face, he didn't see it, but Corvus certainly felt it.
Through the weeks, the crow would watch over Ludovich, make sure he wouldn't hurt himself or fall into traps. If the brunette would happen to miss something, the crow would take care of it, but it rarely happened, if at all, with the serial killer's perfectionist compulsion. He observed him, much like the first time. It was so interesting, how he would kill his contracts, despite the warnings he gave the man, strangling them to death, keeping them silent, so terrified of blood. But sometimes, feeling that sudden lack of life, seeing it happen, the crow would leave Ludovich, unable to bear the temptation of death, of murder, himself.
Corvus was a hypocrite. He despised the humans who killed, lied, cheated... And yet he had massacred so many not even that long ago and even bonded with a serial killer, but quickly he was reminded of the times he witnessed Ludovich's tears that sunk his heart. He was mixed. Being so close to the human, it was turning him into one of them. The power he had, the flight, his shadow melding, his powers had been fading. Corvus was scared, truly frightened of becoming a part of the flock of humans that he so disliked. Maybe, it made Ludo happy to see his skin turn colour, or his eyes become human, or his feathers turn into hair, but he couldn't stand to be near it.
Dejected, the black bird would often contemplate his fate. Here, in the changing human world of smog and concrete, would it be so bad to be one of them? He even had a name, thanks to Ludovich, one that the crow both admired and found so sadly ironic. The times he had caught Ludovich sleeping, he would find his way into the man's home and with a feather-light touch, he would brush against the man's cheeks. Sometimes with his feathers, sometimes with the tips of his fingers, and sometimes ever-so-rarely with a kiss. Though, as soon he made contact, he would disappear in hopes to not wake him. It was almost painful to leave, but the crow was too scared to go back, too scared of becoming human like the rest of these creatures. The fey would abuse his power sometimes, especially on the darker nights, just to brighten the stars or attempt to clear out at least some of the fog that covered the city sky, sometimes for himself but mostly in hopes that Ludovich would notice.
It had already been months, and the crow was growing less and less attached to these humans every day. His fingers were long and bony that blackened at the tips, turning into claws, both his eyes had become a solid black, and even his hair that was once half hair-half feathers was a solid mop of feathers. Abusing his power made him less human, being around Ludovich made him human; it seemed either way, he would have to choose. The crow let out a caw, deep and raspy, before taking flight. He needed to make a choice. Coming to Ludovich's home, very late at night, so early in the morning, the crow's wings acted as a cape and covered his shoulders and arms as he faded through. Had he grown? He didn't remember the ceiling being so close to his head. He looked around and wanted to look for Ludovich. Instead, he decided against it and sat at the steps, his wings folded over his larger body, his feathers all twitching before he settled in a kneel. He sat there, waiting for Ludovich to wake. Or perhaps return. Corvus honestly hadn't paid much attention to watching Ludovich the past several days and was unsure of his schedule.

Ludovich~Arneson It takes two to murder
He'd done it again for the seventh time this month...
He'd murdered someone in their own home while they were sleeping, mercilessly and without care.
He didn't know why, but for some reason he hated these people. It was weird, considering how he was usually so indifferent about his victims. He couldn't help it though. He hated them and didn't know why.
The brunette had tried to pinpoint these feelings in the beginning, feeling just a bit disturbed to find the sudden change in himself. Even after he had ruminated through his mind multiple times and explored all possible explanations though, he still could not find the reason. Or at least, not one he'd admit to having thought about (that one being Corvus).
With no success in finding this out, he become indifferent about the loss of his indifference and moved on.
How was he to know that the loss of Corvus in his life had made him so? He did not know that he was taking his buried anger and sadness out on his poor victims. The young man just saw it as his job and nothing else. And Corvus, well, he'd tried not to think about him. Ludovich knew it he did, he'd just get depressed. He had, thus, done his very best to put his perfectionist skills to the test and to blot out that little mark in his life with as much white out as possible. No longer did he observe the stars or think of astronomy. No longer did he think about his memories with the other. Those thoughts were all blotted out, as were Corvus' very special things, which had been moved from his special box to a random box beneath his bed. It was for the best, he told himself.
Ludovich walked home, yawning just a tad as he did. He was exhausted from all the work he'd been doing lately and just wanted to crash right where he was. He knew better than that though and therefore dragged himself home.
When the building finally appeared in his sights, a soft smile formed on his lips. "Almost there," he muttered to himself, quickening his pace a tad as he did. He was so close to it. In fact, he could almost touch it. Something stopped him though....something that floated in front of his face.
Slender fingers suddenly snatched at said thing before moving it in front of his face. It was a feather, an inky black feather much like Corvus'.
The brunette frowned softly at this and stared at the feather for a few moments, just thinking. He couldn't decide whether he loved it or hated it, but he definitely felt something for it, which caused him to lightly tuck it into his pocket before opening the door. Once inside, he flicked on a nearby light and set down his tools and such. He then turned to head off to bed.
What he saw upon turning made him freeze and his jaw drop just a bit. He wasn't sure what to say or what to do. It had taken him by surprise....
The brunette stood there, staring, for awhile, before finally thinking of what to say to his house guest.
"C-Corvus...? Is that you," he questioned, half-certain that it was and half-worried that it wasn't.

The fey waited for Ludovich, time was hardly a matter for the immortal. The crow hadn't even sensed Ludovich's presence, too caught up in his own muddled thoughts when he heard his name spoken. Looking up, he saw the shocked man standing before him.
The crow didn't reply, sitting there for a few moments before finally standing up. In a slow movement, Corvus stepped forward towards the human and from his cape of wings he let out a hand. Gently, he touched Ludo's cheek, the tip of his claw gliding on his skin.
Unsure of what to do, what to say, Corvus pulled the other closer, opening his wings to drape around him. He didn't hug him, not really, but he wanted to be close again, wrapped in wamrth.
After everything, he had tried so hard to protect Ludovich, but the fey noticed the man's lack of emotion, lack of passion. Was he to blame? No, it couldn't be, Humans are all shallow, selfish creatures, it had to be something else.
Bending down to the other's height, he placed a light kiss to Ludo's forehead, pulling away and wrapped his wings around his body, tightly and defensively. He can't get too close, it would curse him. His black eyes looked to Ludovich curiously. He managed a frustrated 'caw' with the feathers of his hair beginning to stand up.

Ludovich~Arneson It takes two to murder
The brunette felt nervous as the other stood and approached him. He wasn't sure what to think. After all, it had been so long. Did Corvus really even remember him or was he just here to do away with him? Him forgetting seemed plausible, considering he had moments as a bird where he'd forget things. Ludovich hoped that he didn't though. It would hurt to know he did. Plus, it would mean that he had likely just come here to punish him for murder.....
When touched, the young man flinched, not much, but enough to be visible. He had thought for a moment...but it hadn't happened. He pulled him closer and draped his wings about him, as if to hug him.
His heartbeat quickened as he stood there to the point that he felt as if it was about to break out of his chest. He felt a mix of underlying emotions. Happiness, sadness, fear, anger: they all sat beneath his calm mask, wanting to break out. They didn't though. In fact, they hardly made a ripple. Ludovich refused. He didn't want to appear weak or foolish....but g-d had he missed him.
Dark eyes watched silently as the crow moved back and as his eyes seemed to look him over in a curious fashion. What did he want? He wondered. Why was he here?
The brunette jumped at the sudden caw and frowned ever so silently. He then sighed and shook his head some. "I don't speak crow...," he stated with just a pinch of teasing indicated by his tone.
