Wow...
I'm gonna say Rage because I just love their stuff so much. Radiohead's cool, too though.

diomedesofcrete oh wow thats tough. Honestly both would be amazing. Im going to say extended drums Vitamin because that would be rediculous. Incubus with Rage opening or Radiohead opening? Yeah, if you have any of the 2004 bootlegs, it's got them, for those of you who don't have them, and I can't stress this enough GET THEM. The 2004 bootleg concert series are my favorite Incubus albums, because they are so much better live than in a studio. And I'm afraid with both of those bands, Incubus would be the one opening (well, atleast as far as I heard, Radiohead's last tour sold out in an hour, not a day, and ********, if Rage had another show, people would get killed for tickets.) Oh, and um... Drive. Stellar's good, especially accoustic, but I can't say enough how much I like Ben Kenney on Drive. Totally reinvented that song. Crowded Elevator or Dig?

Jane's Addiction. Mostly because (and this may get long folks, and be assured, it's the most arbitrary reason ever) Steven Perkins, the drummer for Jane's and later Porno For Pyros guest drummed, thanked under "trashcan lid precusions" I believe, on Rage's self titled on the track "Know Your Enemy" so I was like "This cat is awesome, I need to check out some Jane's and Porno (hahaha... so very droll)" which insidently, I never did, but I did find Radio Free LA, a concert featuring the second best lineup of musicians perhaps in all time (minus the Jimi Hendrix Experiance, obviously), Tom Morello, Zack De La Rocha, The legend himself - Red Hot Chili Peppers own Flea - on Bass, and Steven Perkins on drums. So I was like, "These drums are tight, I guess, and this is like the greatest thing ever" and I really like that concert.
Honestly I haven't really heard much by either Smashing Pumpkins or Jane's Addiction, but I like Jane's drummer. So I'm going with Jane's.
To go with the trend of mixing things up a little, Sick Sad Little World by Incubus or Paranoid Android by Radiohead? Two of my favorite songs ever and both clocked in at a solid 6:23, perhaps one of the greatest song lengths ever. Not to long, but just long enough to be epic, without the triteness of being in the 6:30's.

You really should listen to some Janes Addiction...theyre AMAZING. Smashing Pumpkins are just as amazing...but both these bands are for 90s rock lovers...people who love NIN, The Chili Peppers, Nirvana..ect
Thats a REALLY tough choice. I honestly dont know. Theyre both amazing. Theyre truely equaly good.
David Bowie or The Doors? ....I was looking at my Bowie and Morrison posters....

The Doors. They wrote Ghost Song. I love Ghost Song. Also they are a more solid I-like-every-song kinda group where at this point in my Bowie inexperiance he is more like "what the hell is going on" a lot of the time. But if I ever sit down and give Bowie the chance he deserves, I'm sure I'll really like him. I mean, I already think he is amazing just on his persona.
Here's the tricky one. Brownie points if you can make an informed desicion here: Captain Beefheart or ... (looks up some fairly obscure, yet awesome musician) Procol Harum...
I'm going to be disappointed when someone ends up knowing a lot more about these guys then I do...
Oh, and yeah, I'm sure I would love Jane's Addiction, and I've resently heard very good things about Smashing Pumpkins as well, but they're in an emensly long list of other bands that I need to check out before them. It's hard when you don't download music and have a library with about 3000 songs that you haven't gotten to yet. But I guess having a mom that is into contemporary alternative and a Dad that is into Classic Rock is a blessing, isn't it.

Captain Beefheart (and the Magic band)...thats not extremely obscure...didnt Zappa produce him? Or did he work with him?
GO LISTEN TO BOWIE! Bowie comes before ANYTHING...even Rage.
hmmmm Hardcore or Post-Hardcore?

diomedesofcrete Captain Beefheart (and the Magic band)...thats not extremely obscure...didnt Zappa produce him? Or did he work with him? GO LISTEN TO BOWIE! Bowie comes before ANYTHING...even Rage. hmmmm Hardcore or Post-Hardcore? Yeah, he and Zappa worked together. However his music is really obscure. Or so I am led to believe. And you are the first non-old person to ever know about him. Procol Harem isn't technically obscure either. They had a big hit with Conquestadors back in the 70s I think. Neither of them are bands that kids normally know... Plus, reading back on it, I only said "fairly obscure, yet awesome" which both of them are. And I would say it was a tricky one. I mean, how many Beefheart songs do you like, huh? Cause there are a bunch of good ones. I mean, I could have been like "Okay, I'm Not A Gun or Dictaphone." And once again, I'm only assuming they're obscure because I've only met one person who had ever heard of them, and he's the one that got me into them. FINALLY... as to your question... Can I pick neither? I'm not even sure what Post-Hardcore means, to tell you the truth. I'm not down with all that jive lingo, dig it? But I'm pretty sure I'm not a huge Hardcore fan. I mean, Inside Out is one thing, but these guys all screamity screaming in the basement of a church... I guess it's okay, but it attracts the wrong kind of crowd... Those silly dancers... And I resent the hell out of moshpits, especially in small venues. Males and their destructive urges... Okay. Open question. If you could go to a show with three bands, living or dead, any time peroid tour/lineup, what would they be and who would be headlining? Someone asked me this last night and I liked the question.

This is REALLY tough Ive narrowed it down to The Doors Nirvana the original line up of the Rolling Stones Rage and...The Volta Incubus is AMAZING but they dont fit in with that line up The Doors would headline. If not "bands" Id probably want to see something classical from the time of Dowland.
OK I NEED 3!!! The Doors....Stones...and....I dont know.
What about you?

Colonel Claypol's Buck Of Bernie Brains, The Rage line up with Flea on bass and Steven Perkins on drums, and Radiohead or maybe Led Zeppelin (both play long as shows when they headline)...?
JUST KIDDING... I feel really dumb about this now. Jimi ******** Hendrix. And now I need to compose a line up around him... And I guess we can keep Colonel Claypol's (But only if Buckethead plays Jordan and Les throws in an extended bass solo... Aww... that would be great) and Rage because they both had a chunky funk sound that would fit with Hendrix pretty well. But definately Hendrix. The question then becomes crazy showman Hendrix or amazing but serious player Hendrix...
Um... If you could ressurect 3 dead people, who and why? I tentatively say to stay away from religious icons becuase then mine would become something like Buddha, Gandhi, and Jimi Hendrix... I'd still have Jimi Hendrix anyway...
