Hearing about how the Ocean scented man and his pet caught their prey snapped a grizzly sight in his head. Underwater gore always seemed weird to Grey, that was the reason he wasn't too fond of sea food. This guy was kind of interesting though, there are people in the world who could tame dragons. Grey found them amazing though, but he would never trade Kai for some random dragon. Kai would start nudging Grey acting out in a playful way. Grey started nudging Kai back to tell him to stop, but he kept going. "You managed to live by my kind?" He questioned
Maybe they were friendly, Grey didn't find that many friendly Fairhairs, but did find nice ones. Those were the ones that either would go to a place that is more peaceful, or end up with their throats ripped out. "Of course, a Mer. I smelled ocean water when i first caught your scent." He said, that makes sense. He wasn't really think about the water part but it still was good info. "Nah, we've just been wandering around, its better to be out in the wild. That way the risk of something triggering me drops to 0%." He explained. Kai then pushed his front legs off the ground and onto Greys shoulder, putting his body weight against Grey. "This is Kai by the way." Grey said introducing him, Kai looked at Hadrian with a friendly face and licked the side of Greys face. "I'm sorry, he does this whenever we are around people, i don't know why."
"Sometimes....I can't trust myself."
"The mountains say..."
"If it were up to me, i'd kill this dream....The one where i lose your soul."
"Everything Stays.".

You are constantly regenerating, as if your body is endlessly making an effort to kill and create new cells. When you take a serious wound, in all likeliness it will literally begin to regenerate before it's even finished being received. They have been known to take swords to internal organs and have all of the damage repaired by the time the sword was taken out. They can even regenerate a lost head, at high ranks.

The best way to kill a Fairhair is to destroy more of their body than they can regenerate at once, by hacking and slashing away, or obliterating them with exceptionally powerful spells. However, considering their sturdiness, even this is difficult. They are by far the most difficult race to kill in Axiom, even more difficult than ghosts.

D to C rank: Constantly regenerating. Capable of regenerating lost limbs within seconds. This costs 25 energy (for a limb) up until expert rank when it becomes free. Cleaving their head will kill them.

B to S rank: Even their head almost instantly regenerates. All regeneration is free. Their body is exceptionally sturdy and therefore it is incredibly difficult to destroy enough of them so they won't recover. They can move and use skills while their head is destroyed. Almost impossible to finish off.

Note: Destroying internal organs other than the brain, for example the heart, is also not going to kill them. It essentially requires the near-total annihilation of their body.

• Svipjod
The Fairhairs can emit an extremely cold aura that will slowly freeze multiple targets in an area around them, or quickly freeze a nearby and specific target. This is a passive ability; they can constantly attempt to freeze opponents as well as projectiles mid-air, and the time it takes to freeze any one thing depends on the focus on that target. They can emit large and unspecific, clunky but not too solid auras of frost, or they can pinpoint an area and essentially freeze something with high speeds. This ability comes in handy in melee-based altercations as well as defense, and energy can be applied to it to make it more potent. It can be avoided and dealt with just like anything else; mostly used to slow people down.

• Sixth Sense
It is not hard for a wolf to feel the presence of another being about him. Beyond being capable of smelling, hearing, and seeing at higher qualities a "sneak attack" is virtual impossible to perform against these creatures for they will feel the bloodlust in ones aura. This ability furthers within a werewolf transformation, or the Takeover, allowing the wolf the ability to see others' energy for purposes of tracking.

There was the voice of Solonor in her mind for just a few scarce words. Then there was nothing but bright light. In the sky above the moon began to block out the sun. The light turned an unusually hard to place shade as it filtered through the clouds that seemed to form a laurel around the black circle, outlined with a red blaze. If anyone should look into the sky at that peculiar occurence they would see it; something incredibly small but growing... and approaching the pond from some point even smaller in the sky. Seconds later the form of Maria came into view. Mere seconds before she got to close her eyes snapped open and the mer reached out to the pond with her mind and hands. Two streams of water swirled around each other, snaking towards her. Her body morphed the moment it touched the water, which froze into a sort of tube a few stories into the air. Her focus didn't break though she let out a childlike echoing giggle that radiated into the forest and through the entire pond as her body broke the surface. The water she used to catch herself thawed itself and fell down with the sound of a waterfall. Maria was disgruntled at first, below the water's surface. She gathered her bearing slowly as a far louder crash, followed by a loud moan sounded. Maria darted to the surface like a bullet looking around frantically, so much that she didnt even acknowledge her present company. She called out, loudly, in meritian: "DOMINUS, where are you?" The frantic sound was parroted by a louder moan and she seemed to calm down as water rolled over her eyes to no mind of the Tidecaller. Dominus, large black and quite annoyed with his sudden lack of wings, sat up, towering over the trees. He rubbed his head, his eyes closed as he could tell he was no longer the same. Maria's senses came back and overrode her motherly instinct and she turned with a snap to see... another mer? So far from Los Anthos and Aramil? And with... what smelled of dog and a wolf. She turned to see the dragon... immediately she smiled and turned back to the mer. "Seramythass, Ma Venahn!" she said calling him my friend as if she had ever seen him before. She approached Hadrian and grey completely unaware of herself, of how she must seem to any of her own people. Her precise vision allowed her to immediately take in his every detail as she saw it, an as she stepped free of the pool in her human form, her silken dress seemed to immediately dry itself, though it was torn at the edges so as far up as her knees were visible, somehow still covered in a sheen of water. "I am Maria Kal queen of Kranila," she said as if it were just a fact. She eyed the wolf, still the queen of beasts though no longer centaur, and kneeled to his level. She bowed her head in respect before reaching out slowly to touch it, to feel every bristle of fur below her hand as she pet it. "Oh my goodness he is so... so gorgeous and strong," she commented as her green eyes also took in Grey. She stood tall, waving at him before realizing she must have seemed like some sort of alien. "Wait, I'm sorry this must be just as jarring for you as it was for me. I am... I came from the sky," she said slapping her forehead and cursing in elven, which made her jump and hold her mouth. She still knew elven? "Wait no I am not from sky," she said as common grammar nigh escaped her. "I fell from the Garden in the sky... where Solonor resides... wait a second," she would say looking at her arms. There they still were, glowing brightly. The vines of energy like a tattoo that came down from the blazing sun on her forehead, around her eyes, down her cheeks neck and shoulders and arms. "Solonor... she seemed anxious when the moon covered the sun..." she mused digging her toes into the sand as Dominus grunted. She frowned at him and he seemed to shrug. "I'm sorry... terribly sorry I've been running at the mouth. What are your names. And... where did I end up?" she said before stopping her lips and looking at Hadrian, her kin.

      Passives

          • Seashores
The Mer are hyper-aware of everything around them, their five senses deeply active. They feel the light touching their shoulder, the running about of the small creatures, everything. They're very perceptive, moreso than most races. Furthermore, when listening through a conch (many Mer carry one everywhere), they can hear things for hundreds of meters around them.

          • Seashells
The Mer are capable of speaking to all sea creatures, although they have the closest connection to the small ones. Tiny little creatures like crabs, shrimp and the littlest of fish, they often reach out to the Mer to protect them from the predators of the sea. A young Mer will often form a powerful bond with one of these creatures, and this enables them to quite literally share their longevity with this creature. The lifespan of the small creature they bond with will increase, making them as long-lived as their Mer companion, although they will also die if their Mer dies (though the Mer will not die if the companion dies). This life-long companion counts as a pet rather than a summon, but at high ranks, it can become extremely deadly.

The creature grows with you in ranks, and will also rapidly grow in size, into something that is simply unusual for its species. It should be noted that this creature will evolve into being capable of breathing/walking on land. Some animals are obvious; a lobster, a crab, etc. Less obvious ones such as regular fish will evolve in highly strange ways, some of them even turning out to look nearly parallel to a Mer. These creatures can have their own movesets. Furthermore, they can eventually, if desired, take up the summon slot and the seashell slot -- which would enable them to grow in power immensely.

          • Masterful Dragon Riding
The dragoon must spend a considerable amount of time riding on their dragon, and must know how to ride on them from every single part of the dragon without falling off. This takes a considerable amount of time to do, but once accomplished the dragoon will be able to accomplish incredible feats, such as holding onto a single dragon spine with one hand while your dragon is in an upside down position mid flight, whilst still being able to use your weapon proficiently.

          • Telepathy
As the name implies, it is a simple form of telepathy between you and your dragon. Thoughts, images, emotions, sounds... pretty much anything can be felt in this link, and it is a constant link. If the dragon is hurt, the dragoon can sense it, and vice versa. This however, also prevents the two from lying to each other, as they can see what the other is truly thinking.

          • Soft Landing
A passive all dragoons must learn, as without learning this skill, when they performed their super high jumps they would simply splatter against the ground. Once this technique is learned the dragoon can survive falls from incredible distances, and come out unharmed.

This damned eclipse was throwing everything out of wack. Eve had finally become convinced that the gods were muddling way too hard in the events of this plane. Now even her machines were bugging out! *You know it's because you haven't replaced that coolant unit in over a year, right?* Minerva's input was entirely shrugged off and she continued to curse every single god and goddess and demon and demoness regardless of who they were aligned with. All the while her mechanical legs were pumping as much steam through them as they possibly could. She was pounding the ground in fast pursuit of her first ever created machine, aside from Minerva of course. *Incorrect, I am as sentient as you are and you know that. Comparing me to a heap of metal is just-* Eve contorted her face in a mockery of what she'd imagine Minerva's face would be if the AI actually had one. The voice in her mind promptly receded in to silence, knowing full well that this was a pointless argument. She had been pushing her TK-12 unit to the edge with the work that needed to get done. Collecting scrap, processing it and then refining it was no easy task. The poor bot had been running day and night to produce those precious allows Eve needed to keep up repairs when it started to overheat. Now when she first designed it the notion to have it break ties with Minerva and become essentially the robot equivalent of a raving lunatic in order to vent itself. On one hand she really appreciated its ability to stop itself from melting the core that powered it, but on the other this chase was getting tiring. Her body hadn't been made to keep this up for very long. At least not yet anyway. So it was shortly after Maria plopped in to the pond and made her exit that something else did. A blue spider-looking machine came barreling over the crest of a hill and right out in to the open air. There was no real delay between the time where it started falling from when it was over the edge. A less graceful entrance in to the water would most likely shower the people milling about the edge of this otherwise relatively calm pool. Eve figured it'd be riding towards the nearest source of water, though she had honestly forgotten this area even existed.

Most of her years spent in Yuran had been inside the actual place. Busy toiling away in her workshop rather than out exploring the lands. Everything she had ever needed had been within the walls of the city anyway. It was only recently when she became a refugee that these types of adventures had been thrust on her. Exactly three seconds after the machine crashed into the pond Eve was doing the same. She swiftly swam out in to the center where her contraption decided to park and kicked at it a few times. "You stupid - hunk - of junk!" If it had waited instead of speeding away from its creator she could have popped the top open and let it cool. Instead this thing was hot to the touch and shooting up steam from every opening it had. Luckily, Eve's body was not entirely organic. She reached down to it and turned the wheel that held its hatch closed. The heat against her hands registered in her mind but not as pain. Her hands were one of the first things she had altered once figuring out how to do so. The moment the wheel had turned enough for it to even slightly pop open it erupted in to a geyser of steam and water. Eve waded backward in the water as a perfunctory action seeing as how her body wouldn't have been overly damaged by it. *Eve, we aren't alone. Both of her eyes quickly shot up to the area that Minerva had mentally gestured to. There were three people and three beasts. Her optical lenses zoomed in and out a few times as they separately took in to account those present. The two most prominent of them all were Maria Kal and her very hard to miss companion Dominus. Once before Eve had met the queen in passing, during a little spat with some elves who didn't take kindly to her machines. "Oh hello, my lady? Queen Kal? Which do you prefer? What brings you out to the middle of nowhere?" She was shouting to the group from the water, amplifying her voice with a neat little addition she had recently installed. *That comes off a little rude, Eve. Go and greet them properly.* She did just that. The girl would emerge from the water in sopping wet clothes, water dripping off of her metal chassis in sleek rivulets. She looked first to the beasts and then to their masters. "Weird to find so many people just standing around doing nothing. I'm Eve, from...Kusana." A partial lie really, but being homeless did sometimes have its advantages. She stood there occasionally flopping her gaze from each being, taking visual readings and drawing up a mental bio for each of them.

Once the AI assimilates into another machine it can use its host as another sensory input. Because of the shared minds the Legionnaire will be able to receive this information and actively use it. This means they can 'hear' what the machines can hear, 'see' what they see, etc.

Seramythaas, she called as she descended from the sky. He frankly couldn't even nearly wrap his head around what just happened, as the Queen of Kenai that he recognized fell before him. He swore he'd heard so many legendary things of her, and had so much respect for her, considering she killed Kaminae. Kaminae, who resulted indirectly in the death of Hadrian's parents and the re-education of his dearest loved ones. "Empress!" He shouted excitedly and fell onto one knee to bow. "Seramythaas, maa peo Komosa. Se firi Los Anthosas de tema!" Greetings, my great Empress. All of Los Anthos bows before you! He grinned brightly and tried not to question why a mer, a sea creature, just descended from the sky. She was babbling in confused words. He could make out Solonor but he wasn't sure what else. Solonor was the Elven Sun Goddess, if he recalled correctly. Weird.

His surroundings grew exceptionally erratic. A weird looking lady came to them - and he could swear she was bearing some machinery, which was something that made Hadrian bite his lower lip in slight discomfort. Mechs scared him. They had nothing like them in Los Anthos, and not really in Jorsul. He was always afraid they'd gain sentience and kill everyone or something. "I am humbled before such an astounding crowd," he said, rising from his knee. "As I just told Grey, I am Hadrian Conchor of Los Anthos. Empress, it is good to meet you after all of these years! I've supported your claim to Los Anthos since you felled the great Sea Witch!" You could see the excitement in his eyes; it was like he was meeting a God among mortals. For many Mer, the slayer of the tyrant Empress was such a person. They sung songs of Akeem, Maria, West, and their enigmatic friend. It was a joyous thing to speak their names.

Fefnirs eyes showed a few blinks as something didn't feel right. Looking up, his eyes widened as it was a solar eclipse, Grey had not seen one in so long that he stared and began to marvel at the event. "Wow." He thought to himself, he nudged at Kai who was also marveling at the solar eclipse. "Thats something you don't see everyday." Kai would bark and Grey would squint deeper into the eclipse. "..What the hell is that?" He questioned, it got bigger and bigger and...No it was coming closer. What in the coldest depths of hell could be coming out of a Solar eclipse? Suddenly Grey found himself alone in a frozen snow filled waste land. "Arrkan varkto mend." Holy ******** s**t escaped the mouth of the Fairhair. He was confused as to how he got there and where was everyone else. He was alone, this scared him more than he thought. He would let out a howl and wait, sadly there would be now response but a shadow horde coming at him. The movement was fast and just as it dawned upon Grey, he found himself back at the pond. He had another mental reality break for a split second, but as he did, a women had arose from the water which took Grey by even more surprise. "Arrkan varkto mend." Played in his head again, the woman was tall and left Grey surprised.

Kai looked at the woman with the same face he looked at Hadrian with, which was a friendly and happy themed face. Once she began petting Kai, he leaned into her hand revealing how good her gesture of kindness felt. Grey quietly laughed a bit as she took her hand from him and Kai turned quickly towards Grey who quickly stopped laughing in an attempt to hide his actions from Kai. Kai would lick the side of Greys face again just to mess with him. "ahh, what the hell?" He asked.

A garden in the sky, that sounds Familiar what was she talking about? Who is Solonor? This was happening too quick and it scared Grey for a bit, and then it happened again. He snapped back into the frozen wasteland, this time he spiraled through the air and hit into a wooden shack. His rage started to bubble up, but he ran before any type of lashing would occur. He tripped and fell, breaking out of his mental break and returning back to his physical world in his same spot. "Son of a b***h." He thought to himself. "I-its fine." He said as she was apologizing. Grey began calming down and before he could introduce himself, out came a woman. Grey turned and took one good look at her and realized she wasn't human at all. "That officially takes the cake." He thought to himself. If Grey had went insane, now would be the perfect time for it. "I'm Fefnir, but i'm known as Grey. This is Kai, he's been with me for most of my life now. Say hello Kai." Kai let out a bark. "Alright, off my shoulders buddy." He said, Kai let out another bark. "He's very clingy."

"Sometimes....I can't trust myself."

Before Maria could properly respond to the people present, she found her mind being assaulted and the mark on her skin glowing brighter than ever before. In her mind... a cry for help? Maria looked to Dominus, who could feel it too... and then there it was, stretching over the lands. A massive, golden shield. Feeling it was her duty to do so, she flung herself, using the water, to her companion and left without a word in a massive hurry.

I am dying of thirst. Literally. It has been several days since my water pouch dried up. My skin feels warm too the touch, this could be it. "You are being overly dramatic, you just drank some water." No, I was definitely dying. I groaned as I crested yet another hill only to see more hills. Ugh, this place sucked so far. One may be questioning why I am not currently zipping through the skies, carried by my loyal companion. Well, that was happening but I annoyed him. Apparently someone doesn't enjoy my singing nearly as much as I do. Now he was making me walk. "I asked you to stop. Seventeen times." I would have scoffed but the effort may have torn my dry throat. Feeling the mental eye roll from Cypress I decided to take a break. We were both irritated and this was only making it worse. I threw myself on to the ground, letting this weirdly tall grass envelop me. Just like that I disappeared. All I could see from here was the sky. How big and blue it looked, little puffs of white scrolling by calmly in the breeze. I wish I could swim in it, bursting through the clouds like they were crashing waves and I was a dolphin or something. "You are only going to make yourself more uncomfortable. Do something to take your mind off it- No, no more singing." I frowned at that. Closing my eyes, I focused on just listening to the swishing of the plains around me. This place definitely sucked to traverse but it certainly was pretty.

Oh! Derp. I sat up and bent to the side and retrieved my conch. I crossed my legs and held it up to my ear with both hands. If I could just focus hard enough then maybe I could listen for anything around us. These things were great for miles, every Mer had one. I just mostly forgot I had it on me because honestly, how many times does listening for things through a seashell come in handy? Aside from now of course. The most familiar sound in all the third plane; the lapping of water against a shore. Soft waves rolling over themselves and crashing against the beaches. There was a body of water near by! Today is not the day I die! I pushed myself to my feet and broke in to a run, heading in the direction I heard the water from. Long strides carried me forward and a burst of energy launched be through the air. I spread my arms just as Cypress spread his wings. He stabilized my impromptu self-jettison maneuver and tilted one of his wings, adjusting to the currants in the air and smoothly flying towards my mental marker.

Whoa, awesome. What a godsend. Cypress circled around this cute little pond a few times, getting lower and lower until it was safe enough distance to drop. I cracked a smile when he folded his wings and let me cannonball in. A gleeful squeal may have been let loose. The feeling of the cool water washing over my body felt so damn good I instantly reverted to my original form. Man it felt good to have this tail back! For the first time in what felt like ages my friend detached from me. His bone claws dug through the soft mud and made his way to the beach. There he let his body fall, his skull facing me and the pond. "Aren't most major cities built near rivers or something? I think I heard that from someone who was reading a book." Cypress remained quiet, mentally shrugging as he basked in the sun. I guess no matter the size all lizards had that as a favored past time. "Let's hang out here for today. We'll try again in the morning." With the sunlight reflecting off of the surface of the water I dove down to the bottom and closed my eyes.

Stop. Stop poking me. Cypress woke me up. I had to blink a few times to get the sleep out. "Get up to the surface, quietly. Something is going on." Okay, curiosity peaked. I flipped my fin just enough to poke my eyes up through some reeds and lily pads. A frog croaked from having its home disturbed, so I spat some water at it and made it hop away. There were voices on the outskirts of the pond, just around a cliff-edge. Angry ones, too. My eyes darted to my spear, left on the shore. Mentally I smacked myself. That was a mistake. Before I could swim over Cypress ordered me to stay put. One of those voices shouted and boots hit the dirt. A bloodied man stumbled over Cypress' skull and splashed in the water. There was an entire sword stuck straight through his chest. I was at a bit of a loss here. Firstly there was nothing I could do at all for this guy. He was pretty much dead, his body just hadn't caught up to it. The man spotted me and I froze. Oh crap. "Take this! Keep it away from them! Bring it to Yuran, to the Ninth Ward. Tell them I couldn't do it." With his dying breath he reached in to his pocket and tossed a weird stone in to the water. The rest of those voices came around the corner, presumably following the trail of blood coming from dead guy over here. "Damn it all! He doesn't have it on him! We've lost our lead!" One of the mob kicked the dead man before turning away, calling out to the rest of their pack to retreat for now.

What the crap. Why is everything so crazy up here? I dove down and scooped the rock out of the water. With a growing smile I crawled over to Cypress. "Cy, Are you feeling up to an adventure?" I was half beached, with my fin flipping back and forth in the water. "No. We should go." Exactly the answer I was waiting for! I threw Cypress back on and grabbed my stuff. Now where the heck was Yuran at?

Water, blessed by Kaminae, lives to do battle for you. You can manipulate it very precisely, and water manipulated by you is stronger than steal at base. Mer armor and weapons are made of water, and they weigh almost nothing, yet defend better than the armor of others, and attack better than any other spear. The water can indeed slice as if it were a blade, defend as if a shield even in liquid form. Specifically, this hardness scales with the energy you put into it:
                                                                              Novice - Titanium

                                                                              Novice - 100 Gallons

The water you are manipulating in its entirety retains that hardness, and the energy buffing the water lasts for four posts.
