Haruki was actually pretty shocked somebody said something, he thought he was here alone. Since there was nowhere to cower in fear he spoke up. "U-uhm...w-what...?" He was still pretty surprised so his eyes were wide with fear basically, well, wider than normal considering his age. He was pretty proud he didn't run away, that made him feel a little better.

Noise. She heard noise. Turning towards it, Liliana saw a Kiranu named Haruki. Did she meet him before? She couldn't remeber. She might have to meet everyone all over again... "Hello. It's okay. I'm not going to hurt you..."

Haruki gulped, but still stood there. "A-ah...r-right...sorry..." Haruki said with a deep bow. "Erm...what happened exactly?" Haruki asked, he really was just trying to practice and this happens. It didn't seem too bad so he was a little calm now, still scared out of his mind and afraid Liliana planned on attacking him, but kinda calm.

"Magic a little beyond my reach," Liliana said as she tested her legs at the edge of the bed. She looked to him again. "You came seeking something. You're strong or stealthy to get by Cain, wherever he's holding post over this room." Standing up, she realized the sprites had made her even shorter now. She could just feel it. Swaying a bit, she stumbled her way over to a window to get some air. Not the freshest but it would do.

"Meow-gic?" Haruki asked, mixing two words again. "I...came here to get tough because I heard Noctune is full of scary bad guys..." He admitted, even though he'd said Nocturne wrong. Haruki didn't know about any Cain, he thought this place was empty to begin with. "What did you do?" Haruki asked curiously, his tail swinging back and forth, what she'd said was a bit vauge and he wanted to know.

Liliana laughed and looked at Haruki. "Do I look like a scary bad guy to you?" she giggled. "But I pledge to Nocturne. So should I change who I am for the lands I help?" She really didn't like how Nocturne was always "Mr. Badass" to everyone. She would prove there was light in the darkness. The little cat-boy asked her what she did. What did she do? Run around the world helping others and studying magic. "I'm a helpful mage," she said, as directly as she could. Beyond that, she wasn't sure how to explain. Then she realized she had heard the question wrong. "Sorry. I mean I called up magic I couldn't control and tore my body apart. You know, spiritual and mystical forces under some people's control. Magic."

From the corner of lili's eye stood a familiar figure in tattered clothes. His hair was pure white and a white, blood stained cloth hanging from his arm. It was Cain.

Liliana turned to the voice, ready to laugh in relief. "Cain! Are you alright?" She hurried over, Kneeling down to take the cloth in hand. "What's hurt? How long was I out? Were you making sure to eat?" Her questions poured out but the concern, and maybe a little love, was evident.

"Not really, you don't sound like a scary bad guy either." Haruki said with a nod. He tilted his head at her next statement, he didn't know what that word was. "What's a pledge?" Haruki heard a lot of words he didn't know from old people, it was always bugging him that he couldn't understand it. Haruki laughed a little when she answered incorrectly, but Liliana corrected herself and answered his question. "Spiritile? Mystickle? I don't get it..." Haruki said quietly, he did get that she should be dead right now though. "A-are you a zombie?" Haruki asked, he'd had a fear of zombies ever since his last mission. He backed up as she conversed with somebody else, he didn't plan on interrupting since it'd be impolite. He'd just have to wait for now he supposed.

Cain collapsed to his knees. His body was coveted in cuts and his errand cloth had fallen off. But the worst was yet to come. On the left side of his face was almost pure black, his ere was pitch black and the pupil purle. The darkness seemed to scream, it was Lili's darkness.
"I-I'll be fine....you were out for a week. I didn't move from this spot..."
It was true, in his right hand, his revolver, rusted from blood.

Lili hugged Cain tight as she addressed Haruki. "A pledge is a promise to the ruler of a nation. Magic is a power inside you that only some people can work with full but most in a small form. And no. I'm not a zombie. I'm a seer." Liliana's hands traced over Cain. When they reached his eye, she jerked back like she had been bit. "Cain... You didn't..." Tears welled in her eyes as she rocked back and forth. "Please tell me you didn't..."

She knew he was right but it still felt wrong to her. "What... what does it feel like to you?" she asked, since Haruki wasn't going to say anything now. "I... I only know it was an endless war in my head when I had it..."

Cain laughed, but immediately started to cough.
"My life was filled with darkness before I met you. I welcomed death when he would eventually come. But you were the light in my life that kept me going. And as long as you're here, I can crush him, the darkness will not consume me."
He turned to her and gave Lili a warm smile, despite his battered look.

Liliana scurried off and promptly returned with some food and water. Shoving them at Cain, she gave him a look. "Eat. Now," she ordered. Her voice sounded like she had aged decades instead of the scant week she was being put back together.
