Skylar thought about it for a second. The girl then commented. He had travel while she was pretty much a transporter away from her family. "So how is it teaching at Reeds? Is it fun? What is it like working under a powerful and genius wizard? What do you think of monster culture?" The girl asked going off on questions that she really wanted to about the teacher. She was curious about the world around her.

Show Me How To Lie....
Surprised at the sudden flood of questions, he laugh lightly and held his hands up with the palms outward. "Easy, one at a time." as he spoke, he considered her questions a moment. "Teaching at Reed's is nice. Just being surrounded by people who don't think you're a freak, and who understand when a vision kicks in and I can't do much but wait is definitely a nice change." her second question put him off, and he took longer before answering this time. "I don't really know anything about wizards, let alone what makes them powerful or genius, so I can't say. I don't really know Len that well, but he seems like a nice enough guy, but I like that he doesn't try to tell me how to do my job. I don't really know anything about monster culture as a whole, either. Most species seem to have so little in common, that it's hard to have an opinion on all of it together." he paused, taking a quick drink from his soda. "I can't say I know too much about many individual types of monsters, either. I was raised human, and didn't even have any fancy abilities until I was 12. I've found that so many things in the stories are exaggerations or flat out lies, so I've decided to play ignorant on all fronts."

As Adney answered Sky only got more questions. Humans were interesting to say the least. The young sandman knew that one day she would have to work with them and get them to go to sleep. She wanted to make sure cleared some things up before she asked. "What makes a wizard smart is all the theories that they can come up with." She told him giving her date some idea. "So your power is having visions? What have you seen? Have you met anyone you like while here? If you have any questions about being a monster you can ask me." She commented.

A whole new flood of questions were asked, and he smiled once more. "I would say that the visions are more a pain than a power. I can't control them at all, but I can encourage them if I meditate with a target in mind. In fact, I was working on that when your brother stumbled and I leaped to his assistance." he was exaggerating slightly, but it didn't much matter; Sky had arrived on the scene soon enough. "Most of the time, they're quite sudden. They can be very painful, but it depends on the duration and how far into the future it actually is. I haven't seen much of consequence, but I have learned quite a few interesting things about the people around me." he explained, his fingers tapping on the table a moment. "My real ability is far more interesting..." as he spoke, a small figure appeared on the table. It was definitely human shaped, despite being shorter than the glasses on the table. The teacher grinned, the very small version of himself on the table crossing his arms and eyeing Sky suspiciously. "Anyone I like? Not especially, but I'm not exactly looking either." he shrugged, the mini-Adney exploring the table curiously. "But enough about me. What does being a Sandman entail?" he asked, continuing on as if there wasn't a very small person roaming their table.

Sky placed her open palm on the table to for mini Adney to climb up on. Like it was a natural thing for her. She wanted to examine the mini form. She was still curious even though she didn't plan on going to college. "Being an sandman means sneaking into people's houses and making them going to sleep. Some of us end up working in hospitals and daycares. Places that usually require forced moments of sleep." the woman commented. It was a nice field to get into and it was almost an automatic job once she gets down with her sandman training.

Stepping through the girl's palm, the small figure frowns, flickering a moment before appearing on the girl's palm. Before her eyes, it began to change; the hair lengthened slightly, fading in color to a light blonde. After a moment, a small version of Sky stood with her arms crossed on the actual Sky's palm. Paying little attention to his illusion, the redhead nods to acknowledge her explanation. "I suppose that would make sense." it didn't sound half bad, but still not something he'd want to do. Not that he had the ability to anyway, but that was beside the point.

Sky placed her palm by Adney as if to return the illusion to him. It was a type of mannerism. The girl took a drink of her coke. "It goes deeper. Because I'm part Baku I have the ability to eat bad and good dreams, which are really tasty, some will hire me to eat the bad dreams. A lot of them are writers and the alike." The sandman answered. It was probably a little creepy that she could eat dreams and she loved the taste of them. "I can see into peoples dreams too."

The illusion leaped from her palm, clinging to the redhead's nose a moment before disappearing in a show of sparks and flashes of colorful light. He was rather amused at how easily she went along with the ability, and didn't so much as blink. The waitress came to deposit Sky's salad before her, and wandered off once more. He, too, took a drink of his soda and considered a moment. "And does that pay better than sandman duties?" he asked, accepting her abilities in stride. At her comment about seeing into dreams, he raised an eyebrow in amusement. "I'd call you a spy, but I'm not much better myself." he joked, looking amused.

Skylar watched as the illusion disappeared. It was rather amusing that it went for the noses. The girl notice her salad was there and then poured pretty much all the dressing over it. before mixing it in. "The job pays about the same. Some sandmen have been hired as spies but not very many. It's rare for a sandman to go on to college and then they would have to take a lot of symbolism classes too." Sky answered about her species. "It's much more common for a shapeshifter to become a spy."

Watching in slight amusement as she arranged her salad and started in on it, he shook his head lightly. "I was merely joking." he assured her, resting one elbow on the table and using the hand attached to prop up his chin. "I'm fairly certain one of the teachers here has a Symbolism class. Maybe you should look into it?" he offers, trying to keep the conversation going.

Sky munched on her salad and then looked up at her study date. "Nah. I'm going to take the sandman program. I'll go over symbolism while in the class. I don't have any interest in taking it at Reeds." She answered. There was pretty much nothing that could get her to change her mind.

Raising an eyebrow in mild surprise, the redhead gave her a questioning look. "It certainly wouldn't hurt. I've heard the teacher is very good." he had heard it, of course, from his brother but they had spoken enough about the other Sol. This was their date, and he always supposed he could persuade the other to ask the female Sandman on a date. He wasn't about to give up on convincing her to go to college.

Skylar shook her head no. She still didn't see any reason to go to college even with the class. "I'm sorry. But I don't know what I would study and going to Reeds for one class doesn't sound like a good idea. I would probably do a class or two if I was still living on the island, but I'm going to be in the city soon enough." She told him.

Smiling in amusement, he shrugged. "No need to apologize." he told her, actually finding the apology to be strange coming out of her mouth. "But I would like to point out that the city is very close to the island. Or we wouldn't be here." he pointed out, content to leave it at that. He gave up for now, flashing a charming smile at the waitress as she delivered the main meal for the night. Remaining quiet, he set about poking at it.

Sky couldn't totally fight it. "I'd have to pay for the classes myself. My parents told me that I'll be the one to pay. No only can I not work because I need to study a lot, but the job timing will be at night. No matter how close it is, I'll be falling asleep in class." She pointed out to the drama teacher.
