In his searching for the incessant barking, Raziel had not noticed the strange shadows that the other students seemed to be tracing and playing with. In hindsight, he wished he could just tune the darn yapping out. It was quite frustrating, and he wasn't sure how much more of it he could take.
After a full day of fishing, everyone was worn out, but for some reason their boat had stopped for a bit. Possibly a rest? Raziel wasn't sure, but as long as he didn't have to haul fish again right away, he didn't care. When he had a moment, and felt like getting up, Raziel tried once again to find the newest source of yapping. He searched the main deck for the barking terror.
While on the deck, he heard what Aurian and Holly were talking about. "It's not good if we run out of food, especially since we don't know how long this trip is supposed to be," Raziel commented, before adding his two cents. "Maybe we should try knocking on the captain's door and get some questions answered."

After their fishing ordeal, and the strange shadows, Astra had retreated to her bed for some much needed sleep. But when she awoke, she had found their captain was holding them up even more. Not to mention that they were starting to run very low on food, and there seemed to be a army of whisps somewhere on the shop, judging from the sound they were making. After a short search for the whisps, she instead found Aurian, Holly and Raziel on deck whom had also noticed their dismal food supply. "I don't think asking the captain would help..she'd probably just snap at us instead, I have to agree with holly on this one" She said to them. "As much as I hated it...I think we should try some more fishing. It will get us more food, and will stop us from starving." As she said this, she pondered on hiding the food from the captain to pay her back for stealing all of theirs. edit: (( heres my profile If I was lucky enough to win something. After the very insightful 'fishing lesson' he decided to continue the search for the barking, it looked like others were doing the same and still it was something to do. After a while he decided to skip back in to the cabin to rest.
Chatting from other students was heard when he finally made his way back up to the deck, the fog was thick and the captain was ill, sealing more food supplies and everyone was looking slightly tired and drained. Which was what the ghost was feeling. He kept fading out of his solid state and back in to it. He had to keep focused.
The shadows only made him think that he was hallucinating. He saw one flickering across the wall, i dancing shapes as he approached it cautiously. Out stretching his hand, his finger traced it's outline however it didn't remain steady. It kept swirling, edges differing.
When were they gonna hit their destination? He slumped back against the wall, leaning on it with his shoulder as he continued to focus on the shadow which was providing a small amount of entertainment.

Again, the sound of whisps seemed to echo around the entire ship, and while it didn't bug Astra that much, it made her utterly curious and wanting to know what was going on, so she made another quick sweep of the deck as she talked with everyone else.
While she look, she still deliberated onw eather it was worth it to try and find some food. While it was the best solution she had at the moment, she was also reluctant since the previous days fishing had taken it out of her. Not to mention that the fish they had caught had made the captain sick, so the same thing could happen to them.
Perhaps she should just use a fishing rod?

While she pondered a possible type of bait for her fishing rod (as well as were she was going to find enough line and a big enough stick) she amused herself with looking in the student cabins for the yapping little whisps. It was weird how so many of them could be so hard to find. Were did they all fit?

"Heerree puppy puppy puppy..." Astra called out in a small voice, looking around the area were she had been messing with the shadows. She had heard the whisps around here the loudest, so this would be the most logical place to find them. She was till thinking about her fishing rod, and had figured out that some of the food from the mess hall might make some good bait...if it didn't poison the fish instead...

The shadows seemed interesting to Colette, but she did not want to disturb them or the forms they were creating. Instead, she focused on more important things at hand. Like finding the source of the barking and the fact they were close to running out of food. Colette bit her lip and looked off to the side, trying not to feel guilty. She didn't do very well hauling in fish, and they really didn't know how long the boat ride would last. Hopefully it would be over soon and they'd get out okay.
Taking a moment from searching for the barking, she turned to Raziel at his suggestion and shook her head. "I don't know if we should bother her," she said. The Professor didn't look too well and she didn't want her friend to get in trouble for bothering her - Colette remembered her Human Studies class. Though, could one get detention on a boat?
Looking through the nets they had used for fishing in an attempt to find the source of the barking, Colette pondered the question. Boat detention.. cleaning the deck? Hauling more fish? She didn't want to find out.

Aurian was still wisp-searching, though now out on the deck where the other students were gathering. Every so often more faint barks could be heard, so she checked fore and aft, starboard and port. She felt bad for stirring up shades of worry in the other students, but it was best that they not depend on their Captain to save them.
Astra had a good suggestion in fishing. It was how they'd caught extra food a day or two before - though Savage had immediately stolen all of it. "That's a good idea," she said. "Does anyone know where the fishing equipment was stored? And we'll have to make sure we cook it well, so we don't get sick like the Captain."
Which brought up an important question. Did anyone know how to prepare and cook a fish?

This barking was never going to stop, Aurian thought. She continued her search, checking under tarps and behind boxes on deck. "Here wispy, wispy, wispy," she called.
To the others, she decided to voice her important question from before. "Can anyone actually cook? I mean, cook a fish. I can do cookies and stuff, but I've never so much as seen a raw fish before this trip..."

"Everyone else can hear that, right? I'm not imaginging the barking?" Aurian thought to check with the others as she continued her hunt. The barks were just taunting her now, disappearing anytime she thought she got close, then starting up again as soon as she moved.
Surely by now she had searched the whole ship over. The little wisps must be changing hiding positions every so often. This would certainly make the task of finding them much harder. So many times she'd decided to give up, to leave the wisps to their own devices... but then the barks took on such a mournful tone that she would leap back to her feet and begin the hunt anew. She just couldn't leave the poor little wisps where they were. What if they'd become trapped?
... Yes, the wisps clearly had Aurian pegged as an easy target.

"Ah! that's a great plan!" Astra said to Aurian. "And, I think I could cook some fish, with a little practice, All I need is a stove to cook it in" she imagined it would be similar to when she had made fear candy for her minipets. And she was sure she knew were a stove was too;
"And your not the only one, I can still hear them barking" The fairy girl flew towards the mast to see if they were up there, then back down again to continue along the deck.

"Were could they be?" She wondered out loud, now finding herself looking around the mess hall to see if they had been attracted by the sent of food. "They must be playing with us..." she could see how it would be tempting for the fluffs to be playing hide and seek. nd the more she htought about it, th emore it sounded fun to her as well!

By now, Astra was considering taking lessons from these masters of hiding, considering she had seen neither hide nor hair of them, but she could hear them almost everywhere she went on ship. Idly she wondered if The captainw as getting annoyed by their constant yapping like some of the other students were

Aurian beamed, glad that she and Astra had a plan to ward off starvation. She checked a few last places for wisps as she made her way back to the other girl.
"Alright, so we need the fishing equipment. It wasn't in our bunk room. So our other options are... barracks," Aurian's face scrunched up - wasn't that a military thing? - before continuing, "mess hall, and, well, the Captain's Room." Aurian doubted anyone would have the courage to enter the latter, or disturb their captain and ask where the fishing supplies had gone.
"Shall we check the mess hall?" she asked Astra.
