A lot of us need to be added. I don't think that the creator of the thread has time at the moment, but just be patient. It'll happen eventually. ^^
So does anyone have any good suggestions for bass clarinet solos? I need an audition piece for college and scholarships, and all that I've come up with was Adagio and Allegro, which is a little too easy for me...

I heard a really good piece one time...Can't recall what it was though... sad
Ooh, avoid Adagio and Allegro, if at all possible...it's horridly common as a solo piece, at least where I'm from.

I know, that's why I want to find another one, because if I mess up because of something dumb, EVERYONE'S gonna know... sweatdrop I found Andante and Allegro, which is slightly more challenging, but I REALLY need to find something good for my UCLA audition... sweatdrop

Meh. It's standard with marching band. Most of the time the tenor sax part is so similar to the trombone part that they're just grouped together.

whee I play Tenor Sax! I love playing it. 3nodding When I first joined band I wanted to play a saxophone and disgarded alto because it is so high. I just love the voice of tenor saxophones. wink

Just as a warning to anyone, if you're playing a woodwind instrument, don't swap to brass and try going back unless you are ready for the irritation of trying to get your embrochure back. sweatdrop I just picked up my bass clarinet after a month of playing french horn and trombone, and it was all weird to play.

Does anyone know how to stop a screw from coming loose on a bass clarinet? The screw for my F# key keeps on coming loose while I play and I always have to screw it back in after playing about two songs.

I play tenor sax. :B
staticxpallor: I know how you feel. This sax is pretty crappy and the octave key comes out every 3 songs or so.
