What a neat idea~! I'm sad I missed out on it. Then again, I don't even know what I'd be. ^^
I'm looking forward to seeing what art is made, though. surprised

AllianceSJR Bunny, will you need help with the creation and/or maintainance of the Art Contest Thread once all the slots are filled? I'd appreciate the help, although I'm not certain that I will need it. I'll inform you if I have troubles. ^.^ ------------ Alright, so, now that we have the slots filled, there needs to be a vote by those who have contributed/those who have slots. Originally my thought was that the amount donated towards the thread would go towards the individual pieces of art - that is to say, you're offering what you donated towards the thread as the reward for best peice of art of you. Clearly, there is not enough donated in order to do this. So, we have yet another dilemma. How to allocate these funds. Suggestions: 1) Pool all the donations together and split it up into first, second, and third prize for the best peice of art for a single sin or virtue. Perhaps even subdivide into 6, for 1st,2nd,3rd in sin and 1st,2nd,3rd in virtues. 2) Pool all the donations together and offer it up with what I have offered for best peice of art consituting more than one character. This would imply that the entire art contest involves people drawing multiple characters and that there will be no single peices of art. For my 2 cents, I want to go with #1. If we do it like #2, it will be harder in general to get artists to committ themselves to the art contest, as it is significantly more time consuming to draw multiple avatars in a single peice of art. If anyone else has suggestions on how exactly we want to allocate all of the donations/bids, please say so.

I say we go with #1. Sorries I haven't really contributed yet. School and Scholarships and Katsucon have kept me so busy that I haven't had time to vend and make gold to give to the contest. sweatdrop heart

I'm not pressuring anyone to really work hard towards this. As much as I want to see it up, I really don't want to rush anyone. 3nodding

I'd say divvy it up like so:
40% for best group picture. All seven sins and/or all seven virtues. (extra 10% if the winning picture is that of all fourteen in a creative way)
30% for best individual and/or paired pictures. Any sin or virtue is free for this.
And split up the remains to the best runners-up.

I already decided that what I was going to contribute, which would be the majority of the gold value - since I'm gonna keep as letters (well, I need to upgrade them to letters first, technically), it'd be hard to break it up, would be for a best group picture. I was just curious as to what to do with the remainder of the gold. I was thinking of pooling it for the best individual/paired pictures. (option #1)

Just wondering, do we all need to submit a particular avatar we want used in the art? Because I know I always like the blue dress and white coat with the headwingies. surprised
Oh, and I'll chip in more gold when I get enough. My quest has been eating most of it, but I think I can leave that on hold for a few days to save up a decent art-contest contribution.

I think option #1 is really the best option at this point. If I have another reasonable donation, I'll make it, but until then...

Will this contest only be open to those within the Church? Or do you plan on making a thread outside the church that I can guilt certain artist friends into participating?
Also, I'm pretty sure you got my 1 k more on Mory, and I'm sending 2k more for Romuel.

Sorry that I have been gone as of late, I've had a lot going on with my life. sweatdrop Moryera Just wondering, do we all need to submit a particular avatar we want used in the art? Because I know I always like the blue dress and white coat with the headwingies. I was gonna suggest that everyone make 3 avatars, and then the artists can chose from them. If we go with that, I'd also like for each person to be stating whether or not they wish for artistic freedom in terms of what they are wearing, and to what extent. Kia127 Will this contest only be open to those within the Church? Or do you plan on making a thread outside the church that I can guilt certain artist friends into participating? Also, I'm pretty sure you got my 1 k more on Mory, and I'm sending 2k more for Romuel. I was going to make it into an art contest thread, like most other art contests and leave it open for a while. So far we have 3 votes on #1.

I'm sorry, my life has been rather hectic as is - I've rarely had time to check gaia, let alone this thread.
For anyone that wants to help, can you set up a mule account thats accessible to all that we can use to host this art contest?
Also, if someone could set up some rules and guidelines / beginning work on the thread it'd be much appreciated. I'd normally have done this myself, but I simply do not have the time. sweatdrop
If not, I can simply return the items/money people donated. I'd really like to get this started, but untill this quarter is over, I'm swamped with work. gonk sweatdrop

I can set up a thread. You want it in the normal Art Contest forum, right?
