Knuckles looked over at Justin. "What's up with you?" he asked. Justin's emotions kind of mixed into his expression a bit. Just a little....
Rouge looked at Shadow. Almost immediately, she had the feeling he was thinking, You ask that as if it isn't obvious.

Justin looked up, shaking his head a bit. "It's nothing. I'm fine." He told Knuckles. This was a good moment for the others. He didn't want to ruin it for them. He hoped this whole thing in his mind would be settled soon. It was bugging him quite a bit.

Knuckles just gazed at Justin, a little confused still.
Rouge looked from Justin to Knuckles, then back to Justin, then back to Knuckles. It repeated for some time, before she stared into space, wondering. Why did Shadow give off the aurora that told her he knew more then he was saying? Well, he always did, but why more then usual?
Sonic whistled quietly to break the silence that followed.
Everyone looked at him. They had all been in their own train of thought, by the looks of it(besides Amy. She still had that dreamy look in her eye).

Justin was at least happy that Sonic started whistling. The silence almost turned maddening. He decided to try and shove his confusing thoughts from his mind, at least for now. However, that didn't go so well. He then shrugged, wondering what was going on in his own head. His dad once told him that if he didn't know what was going on, ask someone he could trust for advice. He would maybe ask one of the others, but, perhaps later, when he felt more comfortable with it.

Tails sat on the couch.
"Well...." Knuckles cleared his throat, standing. "I, er, better get going. Y'know, before my mom gets sober and realizes I'm not home. See you, bat-lady." He said it friendlier, though, and left. Rouge waved a little as a goodbye, but didn't say anything.
"I told Luna I'd meet her at the icecream shop here in town." Amy said, looking at her watch. She looked at Shadow. "You can come tooooo! We all know you're madly inlove with her."
"Psssh." Shadow looked away, leaned against the wall with his arms crossed.
"Fine, be that way." Amy kissed Sonic on the cheek, then skipped out.
"It's too boring for me here. I'll go find some more robots to smash. Hey, Tails, wanna come? Tails?" Sonic looked around and saw Tails, curled up on the couch in a ball and asleep. "Heh. Ah, well. More robots for me." He ran out of the house.

Justin managed to pull his brain back together for the moment. There wasn't much to do here anymore. The only ones here were him, Rouge, Shadow, and the sleeping Tails. However, he felt like sticking around for a few more minutes. He didn't have anything else to do, anyway.

"I guess I'll put Tails to bed and head out myself." Rouge said, gently picking up Tails in her arms, then going upstairs. She rested him on his bed, and tucked him in.
Shadow looked at Justin. "Confused?"

Justin looked over at Shadow. He knew, for some reason, that Shadow somehow knew what was going on. Why is it always the ones with attitude that know more than others in this kinda fix? "Yeah, I am. I just started having these weird thoughts in my head, and I don't know what the hell's going on. It's about the thing with Rouge and Knuckles, obviously. I'm happy for them, but for some reason, part of me isn't happy for me. I don't get it." He told him.

"It's called jealousy." Shadow said quietly, looking straight ahead. His comments never sounded mean, sad, angry, or anything. His tone remained soft and kind of emotionless. If anything, it was slightly bored.

Justin was a bit shocked. It was Jealousy he felt? But, why? Could he actually like Rouge like she did with Knuckles? Well, it was possible. Rouge was cool, beautiful, mature, and she was nice to him. Hey, stranger things have happened. Like him actually meeting her, for example. "Well, what should I do? And, before you ask WHY I'm asking YOU this, it's because you seem so indifferent, that you won't care enough to tell anyone else." He asked Shadow

Justin nodded. Shadow's advice made sense. Even if Rouge somehow picked him, what IF it didn't work out? That would suck for her AND himself. He needed to find out if it would work out. Then, there's always the matter of Knuckles possibly slugging him into a coma if this didn't work. So basically, the worst case scenario for this not working out would be a broken heart, and maybe some broken ribs to puncture it.

Rouge came down stairs. "What are you talking about? I heard my name, and I also heard Knuckles." She said, going into the living room.
"We were just talking. I have to go." Shadow turned and left. It wasn't even hurried. Just casual.

Justin saw Shadow leave, and he was silently cursing the half hedgehog agent for leaving him alone with Rouge right now. He was in an awkward fix, so, he decided to calmly dodge this bullet and solve it later. "It was nothing important." He told her. This was a lie, of course, but he hid that very well.

Rouge put her hand on her hip, leaning to one side. She'd seen enough liers(and lied enough herself while on missions) not to see through this. But she didn't push it. "I don't like liers, Justin."
