Riley tried, very hard, to look composed and in control when Jericho took flight. There was a mild sense of failure as she banged her face flat against the top of his neck, and held on tightly. Perhaps this wasn't her best plan, but it was still a good one.
When she felt they weren't rising up any further, she lifted her head to take a look around, and her eyes went wide. Trees, as far as the eye could see. More than she had expected, but still.. and there was their destination, far away. Too far. Who could know what lurked in wait on their path, ready to keep them from their goal?
She brushed long hands against Jericho's neck thoughtfully, but snatched them away when she felt the cold prickling against her own skin. Jericho, you're freezing. You must hate this. I'm sorry I'm not bigger. Her hand continued to try and bring what little warmth it could, but she knew it was a losing battle.
Below, she could still hear everyone clearly, as the wind whipped their voices upward to her ear in a whistling drone. She particularly caught Braum's voice, and his words brought a surge of desperation with them.
The plague doctor's mine. She practically hissed out to the entire group, a bit too forcefully. She regretted her words immediately, realizing she sounded angry, when she was just protecting her priorities. In a much more non-chalant voice, she murmured. I mean. I'll start a group with Maladore. Anyone else?

"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO" Israfel wailed while ontop of the Raum, His blue eyes focused on the wasted cider. Look at his friend the siren gave a soft "Oops. Surry Braummy" realizing he'd yealled in the demon's ear. The commotion was quite a bit disorienting overall, so Israfel did what any drunk bird would do.
Cuddle with his fellow flock-mates, (besides, they were warm!)

((1-10 = shift))
Damn this forest was a lot bigger than he had hoped. And their destination was nothing but a tiny dot of light in his eyes. This wasn't very good news to him.
"D-don't worry about it..." he clattered to Riley. Oh but how he wished to be curled up around his treasure heap in his hot cave right about now, "I n-need to land. It's t-too damn c-cold up here."
Aside from the discomfort, it was hard to control his wings properly when he was loosing feeling in them. He would rather not drop out of the sky here, especially not with someone on board. So, as carefully as he could, he descended back down until he touched down with the ground once more. It wasn't much better down there, but if there was one thing the trees were good for, it was to help keep the biting wind off his scales.
"I c-can fly back up now and th-then to check progress.." he mumbled. The weather was rather irritating, but he found it hard to be completely pissed off here.
Folding his wings, he glanced about at the group again as it seemed they were starting to split off into groups. He didn't have any particular preferences, but since Riley was already mounted up on him he figured he'd probably stick by her.
Well... that aside, he didn't really want to be grouped off with the drunk siren. The guy already managed to get the dragon to punch him once. It probably wouldn't do to be provoked into attacking someone else here again with these JOYFUL creatures around.

What?! How was he supposed to know who was on the phone? Jackin' weirdo...
West dropped his snowball launcher momentarily and began packing snow between his hands while everyone else busied themselves with much more useful pursuits. Snowball complete, he wound up, preparing to fling his perfectly formed snow treasure back at Braum, when two things happened.
1) Riley claimed Malodore in a brain-searing life bond or something, and
2) Israfel shrieked like his leg was being sawed off.
West gritted his teeth and his snowball fell to the ground. They needed to get out of here. They needed to get out of here now.

Interesting Conversationalist
|
Posted: Wed Dec 15, 2010 10:33 pm
"Hey, just telling the truth," he replied with an easy tone to the wraith, judging by his tone that the conversation wasn't about to go any further. Which turned out to be good timing, it seemed, because at that moment a brief 'bark' sounded a few feet away, Nuk directing his attention towards it. Shehk stared back at him, looking as pathetic as she possibly could where she stood in the snow, a little pile of it resting on the tip of her bone-exposed nose. "What?" he replied a little bewilderedly, quirking an eyebrow in her direction. He wasn't really sure what she wanted... it was hard to tell anything just from the way she was looking at him, other than the fact that she was clearly not very happy.
Then again, when was Shehk ever happy at him? When he brought her a squirrel, that was when. They could only hope there was a cute fluffy squirrel-hostile that was ready to attack them, because in that case they would be completely set.
Staring for a few more seconds at the Pricolici, Nukpana finally gave in to his instincts, stepping a little closer and bending down to pick the silver wolf-creature up, her weight very little strain on the blood-ball player. Still, it made for an interesting scene -- a half-morphed skinwalker, a giant bazooka-snowgun over one shoulder, carrying a rather large canine with a bell in her mouth. If Shehk didn't want people to think she was into him, this was not the way to do it.
Glancing up at the form of the dragon and tentacle-girl at Riley's mental touch, Nuk smirked a bit, his gaze shifting between her and the Plague Doctor with teasing look. "Touchy~" He really wanted to say something about them sitting in trees, but at the moment, that sounded more like a threat than a tease.

((Rolling for rando-transformation, even = Yes, Odd= No ))
Ohae. Shehk could live with being carried around in her canine body (it was somehow less... 'intimate' than the alternative, in her mind), curling her legs up against her body to the best of her abilities when... well.. it seemed her plans weren't exactly going the way she would have liked them to.. and it was probably really awkward to have someone rando-shift in your arms.
Though she did do her best to not kick or elbow the skinwalker in the process. It just meant the image of Nuk + Gun + Woman looked all the more incriminating when it was an actual woman in his arms and not a dog... though Shehk did seem to be getting a slightly new suffering to her problems now that she was transformed for the third or fourth time...
She was suffering from 'I really just don't give-a-damn' syndrome, just doing this sort of 'woe is I' limp-hang in Nuk's arms, her own arms half-supporting her around his neck as she leaned her head against one shoulder, seeming somewhat drained.
"I think that's going to kill me if that keeps happening.." she grumbled with some annoyance...though the fact she wasn't back from 'somewhat warm' to 'completely freezing' like her previous switch had done to her was pleasant. Huzzah!
Damn Nukpana and his warm body. It made the somewhat-snuggles that much more inviting in her slight-exhaustion.

Corbin's eyes raised to the flying dragon, the Mindflayer riding high as she forced her thoughts into the group's minds below. That was fine with him, Corbin didn't mind where he went. If their group was going to take the Plague Doctor and the Wraith was any good at picking up subtle social signals, that would then mean the Raum and Mindflayer would not be on the same team so it seemed the birds would be sticking together in an awkward flock after all.
Then came the scream.
His hands quickly reached up to cover his feathered ears, eyes clenching shut at the Siren's terrible wail before he calmed down. Without warning, he was then pulled into a tight hug by the blue bird, scrunched against the demon raven as well. Worming his face out of the Siren's neck, he managed a quiet "Please stop screaming," before patting him on the shoulder.
Well, at least body heat was warming. The cold was beginning to seep into his scratches and it wasn't making things anymore comfortable, that was for sure.

Tired as it was, Malodore didn't quite get the first part of Riley's possessive proclamation - it did, however, get the second, more reasonable bit. "I believe proceeding onwards all together is the best plan - with room to move onwards separately if need be. If we separate into smaller groups, we'll be easier to pick off one by one, don't you think?"
It picked up the prize Luce brought to it at last, tucking it away in one sleeve. "We should move on while nothing's attacking us." The gleam of horribly cheery lights on the horizon was a clear indicator as to which direction they had to go.

Eyulra Chibizoo Eyulra "You all right?" His attention had caught Lucien's movements and he looked over at him. He was unnoticed by the trees, which was probably a very good thing, but hearing the low question made him shrug gently as he offered a hand up in he needed one. "Seems the trees wanna play... and I doubt it's in a way that'll be interesting..." "Hey there! You lost?" A friendly tree has appeared behind you! It wishes to hug you in painfully happy ways! HP: 3Total damage done: 4 ((Got permission to re-do this.. yay for being not awake ><) "I'll agree with you there... today's not a good day. Not in the least..." He was furious over the state of his outfit, since holes and rips were not attractive with this set, but he was trying not to rage. Though he wanted to. "But... least you're in one piece. And in the end, that's important..." anything else he had been about to say ended when he heard something behind him and he shuddered. Did he have to turn around? Really? But turn around he did and he scowled darkly at seeing that there was a tree behind him. "Lost? No. I'm not lost..." Would rather be lost than deal with a happy, talking tree, but that wasn't said. Looking at his pack, he figured against using his item so quickly.. it'd be a waste, right? So he'd have to try some other means... though he wasn't entirely sure what to use. But one thing was for certain. That thing needed to get away from him! Seeing that it was trying to hug him, he violently moved back, looking for something to attack it with. Rocks, thicker branches! Anything. Hearing the calls to move into a group, he only shook his head. Best not to get anyone else involved in this. "It's fine. Should catch up once they're dealt with." He didn't have a bell, so he wasn't overly needed to be protected, right? best to take care of the ones that did. HP: 21 Total Damage Done: 1+2= 3 - 6 = -3 Tree HP: 3
' "Wow that was a nice one, here lemme try too!" The friendly tree thinks that this is some kind of game, and swings it branches at you in an alarming fashion. HP: 3Damage done: -4

What.
Were there seriously more arboreo figli di puttane rearing up their disgusting, jolly, stinky heads?! Malodore hurriedly got closer to Jericho and Riley. "Go for the branches!" it called out in West's direction, keeping one hand close to its bell just in case.

Riley didn't mind that Jericho needed to land - she realized, with a shudder, that even she was getting cold up here. That didn't happen easily. She clung to his neck tightly with both her arms and legs, to assure she didn't slide off as he descended to the ground. When they'd arrived, she released her hold, but stayed in place. It was, after all, still a good vantage point.
Another tree bumbled to life, this time coming for West. She was instantly glad she'd cleaned up the blood on his face, giving him clearer sight with which to handle the altercation he was about to face.
And ooh, he was about to shoot the big gun. She wanted to shoot her big gun, damnit.
