One of the guards high above spotted them, and had the gates opened. A squad of four flickered down and gave small bows, before saying "Welcome to the village of Sunagakure. Can we assist you in any way? The office is the tallest building in the Village, and the Kazekage would be delighted to meet you. This way..." They escorted the pair to the Office as the gates swung shut behind them.

Jurei walked up into the crevice and waited to be addressed by the guards. He was just passing through from Konoha, his headband hanging from his neck. "I'm here from Konohagakure on official business." he said respectfully.

Bast showed up for some reason or another and heard the boy's statement. She thought it odd that he would be stating things purposelessly, and decided to address both the problem and what she thought that he meant to ask at the same time.
"That's nice!" she called, making no move to admit the boy. "Where are your papers?"

Jurei turned and bowed to the sand ninja. He held out his hand presenting his papers that showed the stamp of approval from the office of Hokage. "Here are my papers ma'am." he said respectfully, not rising until she told him he could do so.

"And what are you here for?" Bast asked, forming a clone and setting it to copying down the contents of the papers. "What does the Leaf want with the Sand?"
The woman crossed her arms and wondered when the Leaf boy would want to take a drink of water or when he would pass out due to the heat. The sun was high and the temperature would be oppressive to someone from a place as far north as the Leaf.

Jurei sighed a moment. "Just to survey the well-being of Sunagakure ma'am. I'll forfeit my weapons to you if need be. I mean your village and citizens no harm."

"Alright, please forfeit your weapons," Bast said with a slight internal smirk. Without so much as a second thought, she had her clone return the copied papers after the final page. "And please accept the fact that you will have thirteen ANBU observing you at all times, and that anything shady that you do will result in immediate termination of your life."

Jurei bowed and began to remove his pouches. All of his kunai shuriken and such were all handed over. He removed his staff from his back and handed it to the sannin. "Please take care of this, it's my only memory of my father."

Bast's clone took the weapons and stepped back, looking expectantly at the boy. Bast did not say anything, though, as she was waiting for the boy to pass out due to heat stroke. The effects, as the boy was not used to the climate, should have started showing themselves within a few moments. The woman took a swig from her flask.

Jurei wiped a bit of sweat off his brow and shook his head. Watching the woman drink made him even more thirsty. "Excuse me, where would I find a place for a bit of water?" he asked respectfully.

Bast pointed away from the Village, and seemed to be indicating the horizon. This was simply a measurement of her sense of size; the ocean, she thought, would be big enough to satiate the average boy's thirst.
"About eighty miles that way is a nice chunk of water," she said, her finger still outstretched.

Jurei chuckled. Surely she was joking, there couldn't be a civilization here without water. "There must be a place inside ma'am?" he asked inquisitively.

Bast had then a thought, born from her dim counterpart in a charade intent on sending the boy out of the air, as it were. The logic was soundly behind his statement, but the woman could no longer face such a sturdy base spectacle on such a day and simply hailed a Gate guard. Thus instructed him did she: that he follow the boy through the shadows of the Village in order to ascertain the true nature of this "villain" as she called the boy. From the Entrance did she leave, allowing the boy his freedom to peruse the Village at his leisure and with a guard to his every move.

Alucai walked up the ladder from the hidden tunnel way he had encountered at the dojo. Smiling he started to walk down from the top of the giant crevice and left the village in order to further his training. Sorry Shiva but this can't wait.

Jurei appeared at the gates along with the ANBU following him. He was swiftly checked and his weapons returned to him. With that he bid the sand village farewell and began to start on his journey back home.
