Ada ✦ Harte✦✖✦✖✦✖✦✖✦
With clothes soaked through, Ada was in quite the predicament. She could continue exploring the island without bothering drying off, and risk a nasty cold the next day or go home for the day. Looking around at the town folk gathered around at the fountain in various places, most seemingly enchanted by a magic show that had just started up. Deciding that a cold wasn't all that bad, she sat back down on the fountain's edge as close to the show as she could possibly get. It would be a interesting thing to see. Especially since the magician revealed that she was no mere fake.
The rest of the darn island could wait until she finished enjoying herself. Even if she was just a little bit wet, it wouldn't hamper the experience that was sure to happen. On a different note, she could always scout out potential buyers, having a strong network of clients was essential for any self-respecting salesman, or woman, especially if they wanted to keep up with the latest trends and the hottest items. Immersing herself in an onslaught of business and pleasure would quite possibly take her mind off her dire situation, for now at least.
Now to enjoy the show.

"Say what you will, Dimitri. Whoever is leaving these letters certainly knows how to brew a good cup of tea," said the woman as she lightly dusted off the virgin snow from the fountain's edge so she could take a seat. Dressed for the cold day, she held in her free hand a small thermos that she had filled with the tea she had found next to her respective letter. With a soft, delighted moan she took another sip of the warm beverage. Mariemaia couldn't explain how it stayed hot. Nor could she explain how the author of her letter knew so much about her. Honestly it was a little creepy. However after the initial shock and after hearing from Dimitri that this was something of an annual occurrence the woman looked upon the event with something akin to childish fascination. It was nice to have such a pleasant mystery to occupy her thoughts with aside from illegal activities and worrying about her siblings.
Having returned to take a break from smuggling parcels here and there, Mariemaia had spent most of the morning with her sisters. Many stories were traded back and forth, and smiles and laughs were to be had all around; even by the usually cold Nakita. Once the hours had waned into the afternoon though, the sisters had reluctantly dispersed to take care of errands. Innochka had ran off to see if she could catch Nirvani's caped crusader in action! Nakita had work orders to process. As for the oldest of the trio? She had decided to do some catching up with their family friend and guardian. "And what of you, 'Mr. Solo-Man'? No one to hold close on these brisk winter days?" Mariemaia's ribbing ended in a knowing chuckle. Nakita had told her all about this odd girl he had been drinking with. To be honest, she found it hard to fathom such a person could survive without falling ill to food poisoning or horrible injuries.
Also dressed for the snowy weather, Dimitri let out a gruff 'hmph' in reply to his rant about the island's supposed deities. "Not once have I seen a fairy out in the woods. If these omnipotent beings have something to say to me they can say it to my face." Sitting down next to his friend, the man rolled his eyes. Maybe he was just in denial. But saying he was wrong wouldn't replace his broken window now would it? Despite his best efforts, he still couldn't find any trace of someone following him while trekking through the mountains either. The whole issue just ended up getting Dimitri upset, so he typically avoided the topic of faeries. There was no telling how this island of kooks would react to his stern disbelief anyways. When the conversation shifted, Dimitri folded his arms over his chest. "Pah! There ain't no woman on Nirvani that can keep up with me anyways!" he claimed boldly.
"Speaking of new friends though, don't let your guard down. Strange people make for strange times." To put emphasis on his point, he jerked a thumb behind them to gesture at the marred fountain. Honestly, he had to wonder how these people survived so long with all the wild animals running about. "Might be island fever if you ask me. Maybe something in the water? Who knows." The man doubted that this was some large conspiracy, but he couldn't quite rationalize why there were so many oddballs in one location. Maybe Nirvani was just special like that?

Tatyana was perched on the side of the fountain rim. The water was gently speckling against her back every few odd seconds. She had her elbows bent and placed on her knees and her face was a lot less happy then it should be. She wished the guy would just show up already. She was sick of waiting and just sitting here like a buffoon with a basket beside her. Yes, she had actually put something together. It was a typical picnic basket, full with two peanut butter and pineapple jelly sandwiches, two juice boxes, and two mini-bags of pretzels. She thought she was being super generous with spending her good time packing this ******** thing and he couldn't even be kind enough to show up. She was grumbling so many things under her breath, a lot that would make her great grand mammy blush. She straightened her back and started tapping her foot against the grass again waiting for this horrid time to pass. "He better be hot and he better put out." She finally made a whole thought that didn't sound just like grunting, but then chuckled at herself at how her thoughts on this sounded so manly. She really needed to stop hanging around her brothers.

Unbeknownst to Tatyna, Neil was actually sitting right behind her and waiting for his own date! Oh, silly people, making him wait like that! If someone had bough him, they should be waiting for him first! Not that he was the kind of person to think himself more important than anyone else, but after waiting for a while, anyone would be starting to get rather annoyed too! Worst of it all, he had also made a little picnic box just like Tatyana! Well, almost. He had ham and cheese sandwich, carrot salad and V8 to drink. Any self-respecting girl would just love those. They were so good! So healthy! So cheap to buy at the general store and saving a lot of time. Well, what? Neil was far from being the best cook on the island, but he could still spot something edible from a mile away! What with his week long stalking of people and living in trees for days, he had too or else he would have starved by now. Then, comming out of nowhere (behind him) he heard a voice! A voice talking about hot and putting out. He turned himself around in order to look at the girl who had just spoken, examined her for a second, and then spoke.
"Why are you waiting for someone who's hot and puts out? You are waiting for a fireman? I thoguht there only was one on the whole island and that he was with that young blonde girl. Are you his mistress? Do his girlfriend knows? Or maybe you like setting things on fire? Are you a Pyroman, miss? Burning houses? Are you the one who burned down the general store three years ago? How did you do it? Why did you do it? Was it for love? Revenge? Did you slept with the store owner? Did you get syphilis? Are you a dirty whore full of sexuality transmitted diseases due to sleeping around with known ***** who dwell in drug trafficking and child prostitution and burnt down their store due to the shame they brought on your house and set a thowsand curses on their houses as it went up in flames, ravaging all their belonging and making them homeless? Or were you one of the girl they abuses? Do you like carrots?"

Tatyana turned her head around to look at the man that had rudely paid attention to her talking. Normally that was a good thing, but not when someone was being intrusive. Freak. She listened to him rambling on and on and thought that for a second he was going to stop and then began to open her mouth. She soon closed it back up once she realized that he was nowhere near finished. She stood up and looked at the guy, his continuous talking was hurting her neck. She watched the guy and tried to keep some track of what was going on in his head. She knew that she wasn't going to remember all of that crazy stuff and really didn't want to. Why did any of that matter?! About the time that syphilis came up, she completely ignored most of what he said and just kind of stared at him. Once his mouth was finally shut, her hands were on her hips and her mind was running with all the things she wanted to say to him.
She kind of stared at him for a second, making sure he was actually done talking. She then smiled sweetly at him and took a step closer to him. "I'm waiting on my date. I don't think he's a fireman, but then again, it's kind of blind." Her eyes trailed away from him and over to where he had been sitting. She noticed that he had a basket. "Are you waiting for someone too? Wait. I'm sorry. I honestly have no idea what you said for most of that, and I really don't care. But, if you want to hang out and talk a lot slower and less... whatever that's called. Then you're more than welcome." She sat back down and kicked her heel against the side of the cement-y fountain. "Oh, and carrots are cool with me." She looked over at her basket and sighed, maybe this guy wasn't ever going to show up. She might have to hang out with some annoying guy that wouldn't shut the hell up. She couldn't quite remember what the little sentence about her date had been, but she knew that it was something that she thought was incredibly sexy. She looked back over at Neil, nope. Definitely not him.

Zemblanity Insomnia Ah! So her too was being stood up by her date! Was it some kind of virus going around6 Making dates late for their appointment? Maybe some kind of social protestation! Yes, that must have been it! Oh, Neil could sense his reporter blood boiling inside of him once more! It had been over a year since that had happen! Mister BoJangle would be proud of him! They should go on an adventure later that night! Oh yes, all the things they could discover together again. It had been so long. It was starting to make him feel like less of a man now that he was all sedentary and without purpose! All thanks to that woman without a date and his own date not showing up! ”You’re date hasn’t showed up? My, that’s wonderful! I was waiting for something like that to happen for a while now! Oh, you like carrots? I like carrots too! Here, I have some carrot Salad. Have some.” He took the container that held the orange salad and placed ton Tatyana’s leg. It wasn’t as good as that famous carrot soup a secret admire kept bringing him every winter, but it would do the trick for now. After all, he hadn’t brought any plastic spoon, so it would have been silly to have a carrot soup with only forks to eat it. ” My Date didn’t show up either. What a coincidence, don’t you think? Interesting! Do you often go on dates? I don’t. Well. I do. But never more than once. And they aren’t really dates anyways. Someone always end up being shot by Romane.” Was it a curse? No, it was more of a blessing. Half the stories in the news paper were all thanks to Romane, after all.
