"It is the only place in the history of the world where all three main religious factions: Christianity, Judiasm, and Islam were worshiped under the same roof-- at the same time." Scarlett said with a hint of pride. "It's only a tourist attraction now, but I think sometimes Christian religious services are held there, too."
Scarlett laughed. After meeting some of the interesting people on campus, Ra seemed like the perfect match for her. She liked the others, but wasn't too sure if she could handle living with them... and their issues.
"There's always dance practice or running, Ra," Scarlett said, draining her cup. "May I have some more, please?"- Fade to Black -

It was a pleasant afternoon, having skipped lunch Ra had decided to go for a walk around campus, trying to scope out where the 'bad' kids went to smoke. Now he shared a room an open window and air freshener was out of the question.
Passing the gardens he noticed Ceara with a group of people he didn't recognise. People seemed to be travelling in packs lately, it made him quite nervous. Shrugging to himself he walked over. He'd been meaning to talk to her about the archery club since their last, rather eventful meeting.
"Hey Ceara." He said as he approaced, giving a nervous smile to the new people. "How's it going?"This party was starting to get a bit crowded for Ceara's liking, two new people, and now Eric and Ra. She felt a bit akward with Eric's approach, but she shrugged it off mentally. She randomly looked down at her watch. She cursed lightly under her breath.
"Well peeps, I'm scheduled for an obligatory parent confrence." She said rolling her eyes, her voice dripping with sarcasm. She glanced at Ra, apologetically she smiled. "It was great meeting you two, I'm sure to see you around."
With a slightl wave she walked out, her feet heavy as she headed for her dorm, she really had no wish to talk to her parents, but if she didn't call them, there would be hell to pay. "Since before I can remember." Dyta answered Kade, all innocence. "You." she said after another moment, looking towards Eric's voice. "You're notebook boy." She didn't seem to notice that that wasn't his name. "You didn't need to lean over your notebook or book or whatever like that." the blind girl informed Eric, shuffling her cards. "S'not like I can see it, yanno?"Before the two had approached, Kade had begun to stand up, his knees giving a loud pop, making him grimace lighlty, reminding him of past foolishness. He strechted, reaching his arms up and sighing. He looked around the new comers giving them a nod.
"Well kiddo's hate to say it but." Before he finished he Ceara had excused herself. "I guess I'm gonna follow the lady's lead." He smiled after her and with a wave and a bow to Dyta. "It was nice meeting you Dyta." Eric watched grimicing as Ceara left, he really had botched it last time. He nodded to Ra as he walked over. "Hello." Eric smilled and turned back to the girl who was now left alone on the ground.
"hmm? can't see it?" eric looked alittle closer he hadn't noticed that this girl... didn't seem to have the same ocular capacity as the others. "Oh.... sorry." He appologized a little sheepishly, hoping he hadn't offended. "My name is Eric though, you don't need to call me Notebook boy. And it's my sketchbooks, um.. not a notebook." He looekd over at ra again wondering if he should introduce himself.With Ceara's depature Ra suddenly found himself alone with the two unknown student. Glancing after Ceara and the other boy he contemplated making excuses himself...but no, that would be rude. "Uh, hi." He said looking at the girl on the floor, trying to make out what she was doing. "I'm not sure we've met. I'm Ra."
It was a stupid and cliche introduction but he wasn't in the mood for originality. "What are you doing?" He enquired to the girl on the floor.The day was too warm, the sun too bright, sounds too loud...but her doctors had insisted that she get out more often, so she had chosen to come and get her console repaired in person. Dreamland was really her only solace away from the medical procedures, so she craved it...and the console shorting out had definitely been a rude awakening.
Khasa frowned as she came upon the group of people, resting her arms for a moment. The medic behind her was very patiently NOT touching her wheelchair; she bit his head off if he tried to help out too much. His incredibly easygoing nature made him the longest lasting medic to the sharp-tongued student.
It seemed she always stumbled over people on this campus. "Excuse me," she said distantly. "Does anyone know if the Astrology proffessors are in their offices this afternoon...?" [ Scarlett ] Scarlett walked briskly through the courtyard, toting a heavy bag of books. In an effort to adhere to her New Year's resolution, she spent several hours studying between classes and after dance practice. The review for the science lessons was complicated, and math nearly put her to sleep. 'Maybe I should find a tutor in the academics clubs,' she sighed.
Hearing a girl call out from near by, she walked over to her. She had never seen the girl in the wheelchair before, so she decided to introduce herself. It looked like Ra had his hands full with her and another couple of fresh faces.
"Hey there, roomie," she smiled, dropping her bag to her side before turning her attention to the other girl. "I haven't met any of the astrology professors, but it's still early enough in the day that you should be able to catch them." Just the the alarm on eric's watch set off in a high pitch scream. "Oh shoot, Excuse me you two I'm running late for art club." He smiled and the bolted away trying desperately to get to club on time.
"Playing Tarot!" she chirped at Ra, then shook her head towards Khasa. "I dunno them. But I'm sure they're somewhere around." Naivete seemed to be Dyta's main weapon. "Why're you looking for them, pray tell?""Hey Scarlett." Ra said raising an eyebrow at the strange girl. He knew a bit about Tarot, one of his friends in the U.k used them. He was sure they were not the kind of thing you 'played' with. Fate, as he knew too well was not to be treated with disrespect. He was taken aback slightly by her abrupt and rude answer to the girl's question. What business was it of hers what she needed the professors for. "Sorry, I can't help you either." He said looking from the girl to the man lingering nervously behind her. "I'm not even sure I know where the astrology offices even are." "The Astrology Department is located in the north building, on the edge of campus," Khasa informed them coolly. She seemed...a bit old to be a student, since medical difficulties had held her back for years. "I have some...paperwork to deliver for the Astrology Club."
A light frown touched her features, and she glanced back over her shoulder. The medic shrugged, raising an eyebrow at her in question; even if they delayed briefly, they should have plenty of time.
And talking to people would get the doctors off her back.
"I wasn't aware one 'played' with tarot cards," she noted, voicing Ra's thoughts out loud. "I was under the impression that they were more religious than anything else." [ Scarlett ] "I've heard about the Astrology Club, but I hear you have to be recruited to join," Scarlett said thoughtfully. "When I first heard of it, someone told me not to get my hopes up. I'm an optimist though."
Her smile faded at the mention of playing with tatot cards. She found them interesting, but she also held them in respect. Scarlett's eyes widened as the girl in the wheelchair spoke her exact thoughts.
"She's right, you know. Even if you are using them recreationally, calling it a game sometimes offends people as some people make it a profession to read them." She said turning her attention to the older girl. "My name's Scarlett Quixote, it's nice to meet you." Dyta flushed. "Playing Tarot," she snapped irritably, "isn't the same as working a Tarot. Playing Tarot, you just set out the patterns, not read them. Working a Tarot, you have to have an Object who wants their future told." She was flushed slightly after this little speech as she gathered up her Tarot cards, shuffling them in her hands. "My mother's a professional fortune-teller in Greece." she informed them. "I know hte difference between a game of Tarot and a serious working of Tarot."
"You," she said after a moment, gazing in Khasa's general direction, "might want to consider learning some manners."Ra narrowed his eyes at the girl. He had been here for several months and this was the first person he had come across who had been outright rude with no reason. "There's no need to be so defensive." He said, trying not to escalate things. "She was merely stating an opinion. Just because you think you know the difference doesn't mean everyone does. I assumed the same thing, merely because in my own experience religious items must be treated with care and respect."
He stopped and shook his head. "I think you might be the one who needs to learn some manners.""] Khasa's expression failed to change. She merely turned her head slightly to face the offender, violet eyes locking on the other girl like missile turrents. "Little girl, what your mother is does not make you anything. If you see the tarot as a game that can be switched on and off, I pity any sensative friends you might have- surely you will hurt them without even noticing the damage."
"In my opinion, it is all flash and powder, regardless." She nodded once to Scarlett and Ra, heavy, satin brown waves of hair falling over her shoulder. "My name is Khasa Haitham- and if you will excuse me, I find present company offensive and will take my leave."
She nodded to her medic, and sat back as he pushed her chair back on the path to the north building.Quote: [ Scarlett ] Scarlett was taken by the explosion in the conversation. Casting a wary sideways glance at the new girl, Scarlett clutched her bag strap tightly. Ra did his best to tame the situation, but it was Khasa's hard-hitting commentary that laid it to waste.
"It was nice meeting you, Khasa," she smiled leaning forward. "Hope to see you around."
She watched as Khasa and her attendant went in one direction and the weird girl another*. Looking at Ra, she was really confused.((Note* bc Snow had to leave.)) Eversnow REmix [ Meep, I have to go. Dyta has bowed out, sorry I couldn't wait to do it more officially... ]

= 24 =Main Shutensa Thread (link)Starring: Scarlett Quixote (KaleidoscopeGrl) & Rashne Kusani (Midnight_medea) Featuring: Pyper Huntington (Player: Erina_Nobara) & Gerard Erskin (Player: Syrie) Pyper Huntington (Erina_Nobara) [ Pyper ] Pyper rushed to get things in order even though there was really no hurry. But the changes in weather were getting to her, and it was finally nice out. Although she didn't have to act as if it would start snowing if she didn't get her butt outside because that was highly unlikely.
Anyway, hopefully, this meant that her spot beneath the tree would hopefully be vacant. She grabbed her 'makeshift studio' plus her acoustic and headed out the door.
A fresh breeze ruffled her hair as she stepped outside of her dorm building. There in the distance, thankfully not being used, was her favorite spot. She hurried over and plopped down, making herself comfortable, flipping open her laptop and hooking up her headphones and mini mic. "Hmm..." she mumbled to herself, fiddling with her things until she was all settled. "Finally." And so she began to play. <333Rashne Kusani (midnight_medea) [ Rashne ] Ra suppressed a smirk at Khasa's come back.
"See you later Khasa." He said as she left with her attendant. The other girl scurried off in the other direction, possibly scared off by Khasa's sharp manner. Not that she didn't deserve it.
"This place just keeps getting odder." He said to Scarlett taking the cigarettes from his bag and searching for his lighter. Somewhere close by he could hear some music. Mellow and claming. "Can you hear that?" He said walking in the direction of the sound.Scarlett Quixote (KaleidoscopeGrl) [ Scarlett ] "Wow, just wow," Scarlett said breathlessly to Ra after the other girls left. "I totally agree. I don't even want to know what just happened."
Listening carefully, Scarlett, too, heard the music. Closing her eyes, she wondered who played such lovely music. She pictured the peaceful Mediterranean seaside.
"Let's check it out."Pyper    [ Pyper ]
Pyper looked up as she noticed two people walking toward her. It was Scarlett and Ra. She continued singing.....My fall will be for you My love will be in you If you be the one to cut me I'll bleed forever
Into the blue memory
The siren from the deep came to me Sang my name my longing Still I write my songs about that dream of mine Worth everything I may ever be.....Rashne [ Rashne ] The music was coming from Pyper. Ra remembered that she had talked about singing and music, he had no idea that she was so good. Approaching he waited patiently for her to finish. "Wow, you're good." He grinned. "Do you mind if we gatecrash your jamming session?"Scarlett [ Scarlett ] Scarlett beamed seeing Pyper sitting under the tree playing the guitar. 'Finally, I'll be able to talk with her!' she mused cheerfully. She waited in silence, listening to the music. Her voice was beautiful and her playing, truly talented.
"That was great!" Scarlett said, clapping her hands. "Nice to see you again, Pyper. "Gerard Erskin (Syrie) [ Gerard ] He was walking again. Since coming to the Academy, Gerard had done a lot of walking around on his own; he'd recently transferred, and as yet hadn't really met anyone that he was too inclined to stick with. People were nice, sure...but he wasn't interested.
Dark strawberry blond hair fell carelessly into his eyes as he wandered; there was a small group of people near a tree, talking - he'd heard sound too, so someone was a singer. The thought was bitter in his mouth, and he reached up to feel his throat through the black turtle neck he wore, his feet taking him ever closer to the group of students....Pyper [ Pyper ]
Pyper grinned, she was happy to have an audience. "Sure thing! Come over here and sit with me," she said, waving them over and patting the ground next to her. "I haven't gotten a chance to really talk with you two until now. It's about time." She chuckled, strumming a few chords on her guitar as she did so.
It appeared someone else was heading their way. Another new face? That always meant a possible new friend which was good in Pyper's book. She waved to him as well.Rashne [ Rashne ] Ra grinned and sat about a meter away from Pyper, hoping they were far enough away from the main grounds. "Shameless addict." He said holding up the packet of cigarettes as an explaination for not sitting closer. "Did you write that Pyper?" He asked opening the battered packet. "It was really good."Scarlett [ Scarlett ] Scarlett set her things down, but before sitting on the grass, she laid a handkerchief down. Taking out a thermos and some cups, she offered hot tea to Pyper and Ra. Seeing the boy Pyper waved to, Scarlett took out a fourth cup.
"It never hurts to be prepared, right?" Scarlett said smiling. "Tea anyone?
Seeing Pyper's computer set up, Scarlett was inspired. She made a mental note to check on the capabilities of her own laptop computer.
Gerard [ Gerard] Gerard's grey eyes narrowed when the girl waved to him - was she the one that had been singing? He thought so, from the way the others were collected around her; another bitter after-taste - he'd once been that girl...he wasn't any more, and that's why he was here.
The smallish teen pursed his lips a little; he was so close now, a few dozen more steps, and he'd be past them - away from the one that reminded him of things he'd rather not think of. But then again...he thought he might end up in a music composition class...
'Know thy enemy.' he told himself mentally, forcing his steps to slow, though his expression didn't get any friendlier - Gee still wasn't certain he wanted to try talking to these people!
Pyper    [ Pyper ]
"Nah, not that particular song. It just so happens to be one of my faves of this great band which I admire, Nightwish. I'm into all sorts of different types of music! And I'm always practicing and writing my own songs too. You should see my room, it's a mess. Papers and junk everywhere. But hey Jun hasn't complained yet. I don't think he minds the music at all really. I just have to be careful I don't get TOO loud or I need to move outside or to the peforming arts building here. I really love this place. Waaay better than my old school."
She smiled when she noticed the tea. "Mmm, how did ya know I was gettin' thirsty out here? This is perfect." She stared blankly a moment at her cluttered lap. She moved her headphones so they hung over her laptop screen, and sat her guitar temporarily back in it's case next to her. This gave her the opportunity and a free hand, one to hold the tea, adn the other to scroll through all her other recorded music as well.
"Here, this is my stuff. I can un-plug the headphones and let it play on normal speakers." And that's exactly what she did; turning her laptop toward Ra while she sipped her drink. "Yum, this stuff is really good." <3Rashne [ Rashne ] Ra smoked and listened to Pyper's music. It was brilliant, Pyper had a lot of talent. "Good stuff." He said crossing his legs and moving the tea closer to him. "I really like your style. Not usually my cup of tea, but there's something so calming about it!"
Looking up a bit he noticed the unfamiliar boy approaching them. "Do you know him?" He asked wondering if the boy was going to come over of just pass them by.Scarlett [ Scarlett ] Scarlett snickered though she didn't mean it. Pyper's music was fantastic. Not her particular style, but she enjoyed it immensely. It was a fantastic way to wind down after the last strained encounter with Khasa and the other girl.
"Sorry, I wasn't laughing at your music, Pyper," Scarlett said quickly pointing to Rashne. "When he said 'it's not my cup of tea' I laughed because he's holding a cup of tea."
Scarlett's direction, also turned to the approaching boy. She forced a smile, hoping this encounter wouldn't turn out like the previous one. At least Ra and Pyper were with her.Gerard [ Gerard] He'd heard them praising the girl's singing, and it just pissed him off - if he had his voice!! But he didn't; all the cherub-faced teen had now was a raspy, rarely used voice - he didn't speak unless he had to - and a deep sort of depression that wouldn't go away.
Oh, and he could compose and play instruments. He did have that. Just as he'd mentally made up is mind to walk past the simpering group, his feet stopped as though doing the exact opposite of what he wished. Gerard's grey eyes sought out the would-be vocalist and he gave her a long, hard look, before inspecting the others; but thoughout he did not open his mouth to speak once.
Pyper    [ Pyper ]
"Haaa cup of tea, that's pretty good," Pyper laughed. "Hey ya know, somebody told me you liked flamenco. Maybe it was Ra or Chii. I'm not sure, but I play a little of everything. Maybe we could put on a little concert of our own," she chuckled.
"........eh?" The boy had stopped right next to them. "Um hi," Pyper managed. This guy looked pretty intense. "Would you...like to sit with us?" she asked, motioning for him to join them if he'd like. She smiled, desperately hoping to ease the strange tension.Rashne [ Rashne ] "Haha." Ra said sarcastically stubbing the cigarette out on the bottom of his shoe. He waited for the end to cool and laid it on top of the packet by his side. "Can I help learning my English slang in Britain?" He said half grinning to show he was messing around.
"Hi." He said nodding to the new boy as he took the cup of tea in his hands.Scarlett [ Scarlett ] Scarlett stuck the tip of her tongue out at Ra playfully, winking at Pyper. The new boy seemed very, distant despite his proximity to the group. Sipping her tea then setting it aside, Scarlett raised up the thermos. She felt really uneasy, but tried her best to be polite and welcoming.
"We're having tea, if you'd like to join us," Scarlett said weakly, feeling almost scared. "I have an extra cup if you would." Gerard [ Gerard] His mussy hair flopped carelessly as he shook his head "no" to the offer of tea - he didn't even know what he was doing there, really...he'd thought about stopping, decided not to...and then found himself doing so anyway. Stupid, Gee. Stupid.
As he couldn't answer - or wouldn't - the newcomer leaned down a little, pointing to Pyper's guitar. By his eyes, it wasn't a bad piece of instrument, really...not the best, no...but not bad at all. They were all being nice enough, and no one was pissing him off yet - it wasn't the girl's fault she still had her voice - so he was trying to be tolerable.
Hadn't his parents told him to "Behave" and "make nice-nice"? Who knew where they'd send him next if he screwed this one up!
Pyper    [ Pyper ]
"Oh this is my acousitc," Pyper began when she saw him motioning toward the guitar. "Not my fave. You've gotta see 'Arvinda'. She's my best," she winked. Arvinda was by far her favorite guitar. But she'd brought her simple acoustic for...certain....secret purposes. She'd actually hoped Scarlett would at some point treat them to a dance; flamenco for them, and of course she'd need music. Dumb idea really, but hey, she had happened to stumble across her friends as usual. All things were working out.
"My name is Pyper, forgive me for not saying that sooner. Heh" She smiled, politely holding out her hand in greeting. "What's yours?"Scarlett [ Scarlett ] "My name's Scarlett," Scarlett said, following Pyper's self-introduction. She put the extra cup in her bag and sipped her tea quietly. The new boy was really, really quiet, but he appeared interested in Pyper's guitar. Scarlett pondered asking Pyper about singing together at some point, but she tucked that thought away for the time being.
"Do you play guitar, too?" Scarlett asked the boy. "I love hearing different kinds of music. I've been raised on Flamenco guitar. I can't play, but I love to dance"Gerard [ Gerard] He turned to each girl as she introduced himself, but still did not speak, he did - however - dip his head just a little to acknowledge that he'd understood. Pyper was the singer, Scarlett the dancer.
Could he play? One eyebrow raised, and a bit of a smirk tugged at his lips, and he nodded, then shrugged and held his hands out as if to say "Yes, I can play...but not at the moment"
Scarlett [ Scarlett ] "It's nice to meet you," Scarlett said smiling. "Pyper, are you going to the school dance?"
Reaching into her bag, she took out a flyer and offered it to the new boy. She told him that the dance was still in the planning stage, but he was welcome to join in if he was interested.
"I'm really excited about the dance!"Gerard [ Gerard] A dance? A dance? AUGH. No. NO! Gerard was about to rip the paper into pieces when he recalled what his parents had told him - attending the dance would fit right in with their idea of him being a "well adjusted" and "happy" teen again.
But could he stomach it? One hand went up to push back his rather unkempt hair, and he sighed a bit - it was really hard communicating when one didn't speak, though really..it wasn't noticable so much thanks to the girls being talkative.
"...." He tugged a keychain from his pocket - a small pen was attached to the ring - and he flipped the paper over, scribbling something rapidly in a messy hand. "Can I see your guitar?" The worst she could say was no, and then he'd leave them alone. If she said yes...well, who knew.
Pyper    [ Pyper ]
"Sure if you want," Pyper said, handing him the guitar. She then turned to Scarlett, "Well I was talking to Brae about it. Dances never used to be my thing, but...I should give it a chance right? It won't be that bad," she chuckled. "Maybe they'll have some cool music. I had even thought about helping out. Just to get, ya know...more involved with this stuff this year."
She grinned and waited to see if this boy would perhaps then play them a song. She listened eagerly, always ready to hear new music. Absent-mindedly she used one hand to search through her bag for her eye-band. She felt more comfortable with it on for some reason, especially if there were a lot of people around. Her way of thinking was strange. Covering it up just draws more attention to it, it doesn't hide it you moron. Shut up, yes it does! She shook her head free of the internal conflict, sending snowy white hair in all directions. She tried smoothed it down again with her free hands that had just placed the patch back in place.Rashne [ Pyper ] Ra had been searching through Pyper's songs, reading her interesting titles. They all seemed to be very well thought out. He was about to enquire about them and her inspiration when the silence of the new boy caught his attention. It appeared that he couldn't speak.
"I was hoping to help with the music." He said trying to get back into the conversation. "I'm sure they'll have some good stuff. Otherwise it won't be very popular."
He watched the boy look over Pyper's guitar. "Sorry I didn't introduce myself. My name's Ra."
Pyper's movement caught his attention. He watched as she placed a patch over her eye. "Are you all right?" He asked rather tactlessly, thinking that maybe she had hurt it or something.Scarlett [ Scarlett ] "Are you guy serious?" Scarlett beamed ecstatically. "That would be fantastic! We could really use your help."
Scarlett saw the band that Pyper wore. She hadn't seen her wear it before, but thought not to press the issue as Ra beat her to the punch. She took out her note book, and jotted Pyper & Ra's names down to her list of possible volunteers for the dance committee. Biting her lip shyly, she hoped Eri would be pleased with the work she was doing.
"I think the more diverse the song selection, the more people will enjoy it. Don't you"Gerard [ Gerard] He almost smiled when Pyper handed him her guitar, he settled it against his body, the strap going over his head to settle against his shoulder and the back of his neck. It really wasn't a bad guitar...
Gerard sighed softly, closing his eyes and strumming his fingers lovingly across the strings. It only took a few tweaks to tune it to his ears - all guitarists tended to do that, even when it was fine to start with - and then he started playing a rather...well known song. The first few bars of music lifted from the guitar softly - he didn't want to bother the others - Dust in the Wind. Not a hard song, but a good one for acoustic guitars.
Pyper    [ Pyper ]
"Oh no. I'm fine. It's just kind of a weird nervous habit I have. Heh." she said. "I'll stop fiddling with it I promise." She laughed, putting her hands behind her back jokingly. "I swear!"
Music had begun to fill the air once again. She immediately quieted herself. Oh wow he's really good. She swayed back and forth to the tune, humming along. "You're playing is great!" <3Rashne [ Pyper ] Ra blushed slightly in embarassement. He should have kept his mouth shut. Like the others he sat back and listened to the boy play. It was not a song he liked particularly. He didn't like to be reminded of the fragility of life. Despite his dislike of the song, the boy was good. The music compensated for the lack of words and made him smile.
"I agree." He said quietly. "Very good!" Scarlett [ Scarlett ] Scarlett closed her eyes, as the mystery boy began playing one of her favorite songs. She had heard a live version by a famous opera singer before leaving Spain to come to Japan. The song was elegant but melancholy. Wrapping her arms around herelf, she let the musica take her away.
I close my eyes, only for a moment and the moment's gone. All my dreams pass before my eyes in curiosity. Dust in the wind. All they are is dust in the wind. Same old song. Just a drop of water in an endless sea. All we do crumbles to the ground, though we refuse to see. Dust in the wind. All we are is dust in the wind.
The music carried her away to another place. She was back on her grandparents' ranch, riding her horse, Andalusia. Her grandfather had just passed away, but she had sung the song at his funeral. Opening her eyes again, she covered her mouth. Feeling tears roll down her cheeks, she realized she had been singing along.Gerard [ Gerard] He was short. He looked like he had just rolled out of bed to stalk around the campus. He was playing guitar as though he'd been born doing it - and if he'd still had his voice, he would have really shown them something, but he couldn't sing along the way Scarlett had. Her joining his impromptu recital had almost made him stop, but she'd seemed rather...intense.
Gerard could appreciate the obvious love of music the girl had, so he'd played all the way through before stopping and offeingd the guitar back to Pyper. "Thanks..." He rasped, his voice sounding very much as if someone had taken a brillo pad to his vocal cords, scoured them, and then rinsed it all in acid.
No wonder he didn't talk!Pyper    [ Pyper ]
"Anytime," Pyper smiled, taking her guitar back in her arms. She gave Scarlett a pat on the knee. "You okay?" she asked. "Maybe a happier song would lighten the mood." She thought about it for a moment. "If you guys don't mind...how about...oh I know it's old, but the song's upbeat.." And she began playing 'Up Around the Bend'-Creedence Clearwater Revival.
...You can ponder perpetual motion, Fix your mind on a crystal day, Always time for a good conversation, There's an ear for what you say.
Come on the risin' wind, We're goin' up around the bend...Rashne [ Rashne ] When Scarlett started singing Ra got the feeling he had walked into a teen movie of some kind. This was the very reason he hated songs like this. People got sentimental and upset.
He took another cigarette out and placed it in his mouth. He was eternally glad when Pyper began to play a second, somewhat happier song. He lit the cigarette and smiled at the blue sky in relief as the mood lifted.
"How long have you played?" He asked the boy. Unsure of whether he couldn't speak well or was just sick he gave him a gesturable question. Scarlett [ Scarlett ] Jeez, I am so sorry," Scarlett said ad she started rummaging through her bag looking for her handkerchief.
Finding it, she dabbed her eyes and wiped her cheeks. She felt so embarrassed. She loved to sing, but didn't like causing such a scene. Taking her makeup case out, she apologized again to the boy for interrupting his amazing playing. She turned her back to the group so she could clean herself up a bit. When the boy thanked Pyper, his voice was so gruff. It made Scarlett feel even worse.
"I wasn't trying to show off," she said slowly, looking at thr group through the reflection in her mirror. "Sometimes music just carries me away to another place." Gerard [ Gerard] The "Ra" person seemed to dislike both songs played, but as far as Gee was concerned, it didn't matter. He'd played the first common thing that had come to mind, something easy to do. When the other asked him how long he'd been playing, the strawberry blond shrugged his shoulders a little.
How long? He couldn't even remember how long - that was how long he'd been a musician. Of course, before it hadn't been the only thing...but that was then, this was now. Gerard stretched a little; it seemed both girls had good voices...something that didn't really suprise him since this was THE Academy.
Another shrug, and Gee reshouldered the bag he'd dropped; he should find one of the music instructors and get permission to access the music room whenever he wanted to compose - that was why he'd been wandering around that day, not to play with these people!
Pyper    [ Pyper ]
Pyper went back to strumming one of her own songs. "Don't worry about it Scarlett. Music is means a lot to different people in all kinds of ways. Nobody thought you were showing off. Just don't start cryin' on me. I won't know what to do!" She managed a laugh. "Probably just give ya a hug and listen to your problems if anything. Would that work? People might find that weird though..." she was talking more so to herself now then anybody around. What had she done when Brae cried? Gave a speech? Well techcnially, but no, she had made him laugh. That was it. Now THAT was a plan. "Know any good jokes?" >.o;Rashne [ Pyper ] Ra sat listening to the music, at Pyper's request for a joke a grin spread across his face. He knew so many. Which one to choose. Something tasteful....or not. "What goes from green to red at the flick of a switch?" He said thinking of a joke that was amusing and would not lose him too many friends. He paused for a moment to make sure he had their attention. "A frog in a blender."Scarlett [ Scarlett ] "Thanks, Pyper, sorry to make you worry like that," Scarlett said with a smile. "You really have amazing talent, Mystery Man. I'd love to hear more of your music one day."
Scarlett hoped her compliment would be well received by him. She felt strange not knowing his name. Storing her makeup case in her bag again, Scarlett turned around to the group again. Ra's joke made chuckle.
"I know a few, but their not really polite ones," Scarlett said sheepishly.Gerard [ Gerard] Ra's joke only got an eyebrow quirk from Gerard, but he nodded to the trio nonetheless. They'd been okay, and hadn't pissed him off...it wouldn't hurt him to be civil once in a while.
With a non-commital shrug the short, mostly mute teen went back to his earlier mission - finding a professor to talk to about the music room....
= Intermission = Pyper    [ Pyper ]
Pyper practically choked on her tea when she heard Ra's joke. She was laughing, and that wasn't helping as she gasped for air. "heh..*cough*....heh....whew, well I have to say that was a pretty entertaining joke," she managed. Finally she collected herself...or so she though... But you could see she was still chuckling slightly, trying her best to hide it. "At the spare of the moment like that I honestly don't think I could have thought anything better."Scarlett [ Scarlett ] "He was interesting," Scarlett said watching the boy walk off. "Too bad he didn't give us his name."
His guitar playing lingered in her mind. His personality could use a little work, in her own opinion. Like everyone else in the school, Scarlett was certain that he had his own reasons. His writing on the back of her flyer paired with his raspy voice, hinted to a larger problem possibly. Stretching up, she sighed and listening to the conversation. Pyper [ Pyper ]
"Well let's see... I'm in Art, Archery, Music, and Astrology. I recommend all of'm actually. Of course I'm obsessed with music and whatnot, so asking for my opinion might not be the best idea. But hey, whatever floats your boat." She smiled, scanning over her laptop, going through a music files, and reports. Yup, there was homework on there too. Pyper liked to call this 'multi-tasking'. xD;Rashne [ Rashne ] "Ahh, yeah. I'm lacking in the artistic skill department." He sighed, once more stubbing the cigarette end out on his shoe and placing it next to the other one. "I like sports, and I'd like to try something traditional, I was thinking of Kendo...or archery. I was going to ask Ceara about it actually. Do you know her? She seems to know a lot about archery."
He watched Pyper scan over her computer with interest. "Astrology. That sounds interesting. I think I might have applied to go on the waiting list for that one."Scarlett [ Scarlett ] "You're in the Art Academy, too?" Scarlett said, finally jumping back into the conversation. "I applied to waitlists for Astrology and Student Council. I also chose the computer club."
A smile crept across Scarlett's face. Chiitra. Pyper. Ceara. Herself. Aside from Brae, it looked like her roomie was amassing a harem. Brae was probably the one exception to the rule. Giggling to herself, she made a note to take a dig at Ra about it later when they were in the dorms. She didn't want to embarass him in front of Pyper. Pyper [ Pyper ]
But little did Scarlett know that she was about to get her chance at that very moment when Pyper's laptop began beeping at the group.
"Oh shoot!" Pyper grumbled. "I've gotta be somewhere. I'm so sorry guys." She picked up her things, placed her guitar in her case and slung it over back. She grabbed the remaining items, holding the laptop under one arm,a nd the mic in the other. She put the headphones around her neck. She looked like some kind of tech. geek. She couldn't help, but say allowed, "Man I need a carrying case for ALL this stuff." She turned to the others. "I'll see you guys around later k?!" She waved and then hurried back toward her dorm to drop all her junk off.Rashne [ Pyper ] "See ya." Ra said as Pyper walked off. It seemed like they had all been sat talking for ages. The sky was begining to grow darker and the air a little cooler. He could hear the distant chatter of a few students over by the buildings. They should probably make a move to the canteen soon. First things first however. "Well today has certainly been interesting." He said taking another cigarette out. "Don't you think?"Scarlett [ Scarlett ] "Bye Pyper," Scarlett replied, seeing Pyper hurry off.
Turning to Ra, Scarlett nodded in agreement. They had met several new people. She felt turned inside out and completely exhausted. Her window for studying was growing slimmer. Perhaps she was hit Rashne up for studying tips later when they were back home.
"That's one word for it," Scarlett said with a wry smile. "I'm famished. Let's go get some food to eat before the Dining Hall's packed."

The muliple cracking of knuckles sounded in the darkness. Coming out of the locker room, Ceara rolled her neck slowly, rotated her shoulders; in short strechted out as she walked. She had been at the range for nigh on 2 hours now, her hands were red from pulling the bow, but not blistered, if they had been blistered she would have stayed longer.
The sun had set about an hour and a half ago, well past full dark now, the night was mostly queit. Birds still sang, those few night songsters, crickets chirped and the wind blew through the trees, but there was less than the usual cacaphony that ensued in the daylight hours. Passing acloves and side paths, Ceara heard the occasional whisper of distant conversation, but she enjoyed the relative silence of the night.
Far from being tired or soar, Ceara was exhilerated after her time with her bow, as was common. She had made it a point of late to spend more time at the range, she had no wish to let her skills get rusty so to speak. All be it she was sore as all else when she first stared back up again, but now it was simple mechanics of her body to nock the arrow, pull the line and loose; the thud of each true arrow the beat of her heart.
A grumble and gurlge sounded from her belly, disrupting the silence.
She might not be tired but she was surely hungry, she had skipped dinner to go to the range, and now her stomach was demanding attention. With a slight smile Ceara turned her feet in the direction of the cafeteria; there would not be much left, but there would be something, maybe a sandwich. ~~~ The Cafeteria had not been crowded, but Ceara had no wish to stay outside. So with her sandwich and apple and a bottle of water, Ceara settled herself beneath the boughs of a familar oak in the Courtyard outside the Cafeteria.
It was dark by the time Ra finally made it out of the science building. Make up tests were never fun. After a weekend of cramming hopefully he would be able to get at least a ninety this time.
Sighing he made his way over to the cafeteria to see if there were any decent sandwhiches left.
'ham and cheese, bacon and egg, ham.' answered his question. Shrugging he picked up an apple and a carton of green tea, paid and went outside. It was a nice evening, he was about to head back to his room when he saw Caera sat alone at one of the benches.
"Hi." He said walking up to her. "Do you mind if I join you?" He hoped she would say yes, dinner was never good if you had to eat it alone. Even if it was just an apple.
Taking a bite of the ham and cheese on white, Ceara pulled a face and looked down at that which she had bought for her all fullfilling dinner. The ham wasn't bad, the cheese was that processed crap she should have expected and she hated white bread, but hey it was what they had, and she had yet to have time to go and get her some stuff at the grocery store any how. Shrugging she took another bite, it was better than nothing. She heard footsteps approaching and with out looking up she cast her eyes around to find the source.
The boy's face took a moment to make a connection in her head, she had met him a while back, same day she had met Scarlett, he had been sick that day if she recalled. Ra! her mind finally produced a name.
"Yeah sure." She said nodding to a empty seat on the bench. "Not that you have much in the way of dinner." She still hadn't really looked up.
Ra looked at the apple and shrugged. "It's nutritious." He said sitting on the bench and placing his carton on the worn wood. "Can't eat pork." He said shortly in explaination and took a bite of the apple. It was slightly on the soft side after being sat out in the canteen all evening.
"So." He said trying to think of something interesting to talk about. "Did you hear about this dance thing they are having?"
Ceara simply shrugged and nodded at his comment on pork. Opening her water she took a swig. In the middle of swallowing she heard Ra's second comment.
Finding it hard to swallow for a moment around the surprise, she finally did so with out choking. Looking over at Ra full in the face, one eyebrow quirked, she gave him a look that could only mean 'you have got to be kidding.'
"Isn't that a bit elementary?" She said simply.
She hated dances, she had only ever been to a few, and only for a short amount of time. "Why?" She voiced her last thought, unconciously.
Chii quietly slipped out of her dorm and slowly began walking. Where to? Who knew, at first she was heading towards the gym, then towards her math class, then suddenly she took a hard turn towards the cafeteria.
Just plodding along, her head hanging low, one really coudln't tell what was going on with Chii tonight. It was as if she were on a war path. Her hair was loosely hanging about her shoulders and her arms were down by her side. She didn't have any shoes on, and the robe that she was wearing was wide open, exposing everything underneath...which was well, actually nothing because she was completely naked! o____O
Continuing on her way Chii paid no attention to the two people sitting out in the courtyard. She made no move to cover herself up, she just kept on slowly walking, and walking. Her head never raised to say hello. She was like a zombie.
"Elementary?" Ra asked not entirely sure what she meant...basic? easy? "I don't know why." He continued pulling the straw off the side of the carton and poking it through the seal. "I've never been to a da..." He trailed off as movement just beyond the cafeteria caught his eye.
He could see a girl in the distance over Caera's shoulder. Not normally an unsusual thing, but this girl was wearing...well, naked. Give or take the open robe. Ra blinked and it took a few seconds for him to register that he knew her. It was Chii.
Squeezing his eyes shut he pinched the bridge of his nose. He'd had some odd hallucinations before, with his medication. This was just crazy. "Sorry." He said to Caera I just had the crazies..." He trailed off again as he opened his eyes. She was still there. Closer on the path that ran parallel to them and leaving nothing to the imagination. He wanted to look away, his upbringing, moral rules drummed into him from birth told him to. Yet he couldn't.
"It's dangerous to wake sleep walkers right?" He said to Caera his rational mind forming the only explaination it dared to.
Ceara, looking at Ra, didn't see what he saw right off. She was amused with the confused look that passed over his face and a moment of shock that seemed to linger on his face, quirking her lips she looked to see what he was looking at. Her jaw didn't drop, her eyes didn't go wide, she simply tensed and quickly set down her sandwhich and stood up. Looking at Ra and his question she looked back at her slightly aquainted friend and then back at Ra.
"I don't think so," She paused looking back at Chi. "Not when it involves the possibility of the girl catching her death and probably getting in a whole hell of a lot of trouble." At that she headed over to Chii.
Catching the girl by one shoulder she quickly wrapped the robe about her as best she could with one hand. As much as she simply wanted to shake Chi out of it, her mind lingered on Ra's word. She didn't know for sure if it would do Chii any harm to wake her so roughly, but Ceara didnt' think being shook awake to find yourself in a strange place was that great of an idea either. Maybe she should just steer her back to her room...
"Hey Ra, do you know where Chi's room is?" Her voice was soft, but it carried easily to Ra.
Caera's movement knocked Ra out of his shock. So it was real. Cursing his stupidity he stood up, shrugged out of his jacket and jogged over to them. "Chii, what are you doing?" He said softly draping the jacket over her shoulders and trying to keep his eyes on the path ahead. "Maybe if we talk to her, she'll snap out of it slowly." He explained putting his arm protectively around Chii's shoulders and helping Caera steer her towards the dorms. He was extremely worried about her questions of how, why and how long had she been wandering around spinning through his head. "Yeah, I know where her room is. Number 2 (is that right? Guilds are down so I can't look) "How on earth are we going to explain this to her." He said with concern looking at the vacant expression on Chii's face.
Chii's head flopped back and forth between Ra's arm and Ceara's shoulder as they walked her in the direction of the dorms. Luckily the wind had died down, and wasn't blowing her robe open so wide anymore, but it was getting colder, and it was apparent that while the jostling of her head wasn't waking her up, the cold just might.
It started at her toes, and was working it's way up her legs. Chii's subconscious could feel the cold air around her. [what on earth? am i outside?] it wondered. To those around her, her thoughts would only be interpreted as a series of moans and groans, that were starting to take shape.
With one arm around Chii's waist, Ceara let Ra lead, seeing as how she had no idea where Chii's dorm was. The sleeping girls feet moved forward sluggishly, but they still seemed to walk half of their own volation, half from hers and Ra's help. Ceara listened to Chii's moans and groans and wondered what was going on in her mind at that moment. She looked over at Ra over Chii's bobbing head. "have you ever slept walk before, Ra?"
Ra kept his arm tight on Chii's shoulders he was glad Ceara was with him. To help guide and keep tabs on the rode that appeared to have a mind of its own. "No." He said answering her question. "Well, not that I know of. Have you?" He asked as they neared the dorms. They needed to get Chii inside and warm as soon as possible. Listening to her moan, he hoped that they got there before she woke up.
A sudden gust of wind chilled Chii to the bone, even a dead person would have woken up from it. Eyes wide open, head straight and stiff, Chii slowly turned her head to survey around her. Not recognizing the people holding her she looked down....
She freaked, instantly pulling back on the people holding her. Her eyesight was a bit fuzzy, and all she knew was that she was naked and being dragged around by two strangers...
"Let me goo!! I'll scream! LET ME GOOO!!" she fought, paniced moans escaping her lips. "I didn...who are you!!? Just let me goo..."
Ceara let go of Chii as soon as the girl began to struggle, she didn't want the girl even in her half waking delusion, to think that Ceara was trying to harm her. Why couldn't the girl have atleast waited till they got back to the dorms to freak out. It would have been simpler, and warmer for Chii. Instead, Ceara was left with a half hysterical young woman, that she didn't want to hurt, but didn't know how to explain to her that she was okay. "Chii." Ceara said her name slighly loudly over the girls ranting. "Chii its okay, its me, Ceara and Ra." She said reaching a hand out to the girl, but restraining from actually touching Chii. "You were sleep walking." Were as Ceara had earliar wanted to shake the girl out of her sleep, Ceara suddenly had an insesiant need to pull the girl to her and reasurre her. What was it in Chii's unconcious mind that she reacted so baddly to them both.
As soon as Chii began to struggle and Ceara stepped back, Ra reacted quickly pulling her to his chest and holding her tightly. "It's O.k." He said trying to fight against her struggling. He just needed her to calm down. "Chii." He said louder.stroking her hair soothingly. "It's O.k, no one's going to hurt you. It's Ra. Ceara's here with me. Do you understand?" He looked at Ceara, she looked more freaked out than he expected. "Chii, come on. Snap out of it."
Suddenly being held tightly did'nt do anything for her nerves, or her current state. It only made her fight harder. Having gained some sense of coherent thought back, Chii knew that it was a man holding her.
A man....holding her, tightly.....Then, in between sobs, she heard a girls voice, then the man's voice...they were both saying something about Ra...She shook her head violently, and spit out her words. "NO! you're lying, Ra wouldn't....wouldn't do such a thing...." It was happening all over again...the whole nightmare...her head was a mess...
"Gowda! LET ME GOOO! I know it's you..." she sobbed, but she was starting to get weak from hitting Ra. She'd probably left some bruises, and although she'd managed to make contact with his jaw it wasn't strong enough to do anything.
Listening to Chii's words, Ceara found that perhaps she had been right that restraint had been the worst option, but perhaps it was male restraint that was the wrong choice. Looking pointedly at Ra, she took the girl by the shoulders and took the girl into her own embrace. Ceara did not know what Chii was remembering, but it obviously bore the pains of her past in her present sleeping mind. "Chii, listen to me." Ceara's voice had softened and velveted out. "Nothings gonna happen here." She pulled the girls onto her shoulder, ignoring flayling arms and bruising blows. "We are your friends, you know we are." She said soothingly though her voice was still strong.
Ra listened to her words and understood everything. He knew why she was attacking him, yet he couldn't seem to do anything to help. When Ceara motioned to take her away, he let her go. Maybe a female voice could get her to calm down. Bruised and defeated he rubbed his jaw and watched helplessly as Ceara tryed to calm her.
Chii's balance was knocked off kilter for a second as she was roughtly switched from one pair of hands to another. Although these new hands were much calmer. She was still trying to get away, but was so weak now. It was useless. Her sobs became slower, softer, she could actually hear words...kind words...
Falling against a warm shoulder Chii heard a familiar voice...Ceara? Why was ceara here? "Ceara?" she said softly..."Why are you?... I'm really cold."
It would appear that she'd finally 'regained consciousness', but she was still confused. "I was having a really bad nightmare..."
Anyone looking at her woudln't have seen the girl they were familiar with, but instead a young girl trying desperately to huddle into warmth, a confused look on her face, sweat around her temples.... if she could have, she would have curled up into the fetus position.
"He was after me again..." she said even softer.
Ceara was amazed at the change in Chii. No more the bubbly young girl she had slowly begun to get o know, but rather a child, a confused and still scared child. She, who was not one to indulge in human contact, pulled the girl closer to her, seeking to impart her own warmth to Chii. Tucking the girls head under her chin, she hummed a soft lullably, that her mind dreged out of her childhood nannies. "Its okay Chii, he's not here, it was just a nightmare as you say." Ceara had no idea who 'he' was but she knew that he didn't like him, and at that moment had the urge to severly hurt 'him'. "Its just us, you me and Ra." She rubbed Chii's back in soft ciruclar motions. "You were sleep walking Chii, were going back to you room now."
Ra watched helplessly as Ceara managed to succeed where he had failed. Chii, was awake and something of her usual self. He knew what it was like, to wake up after re-living the worst moment of your life. The pain and confusion followed by the relief that it wasn't as real as it had been once. Deeming things safe he approached Ceara and Chii slowly. "It's O.k Chii." He said softly placing a hand on her shoulder. Hoping she would recognise him now "Let's get inside before you get sick." He smiled at Ceara and knelt down next to them. "It might be easier if I take her." He said picking the shivering mess that was Chii up. Her height made her slightly heavier than he had expected but he managed it easy enough. "Come on, before we get locked out." He said to Ceara and started towards the dorm.
She'd just about fallen asleep when she felt a warm hand on her shoulder, and a calm voice to go with it. "Ra..." she said softly, an undertone of relief laced around her words. Focusing her eyes on him as he picked her up she shivered. "Ra....it was like he was here...maybe he was here....I was so scared." Quickly, she buried her head into his shoulder, and grasped his shirt tightly in her fists. She was so exhausted that she fell asleep right there. Her arms had moved from clenching his shirt, to wrapped around his neck. "Ra...." she mumbled in her sleep.
Ceara watched as Ra picked up Chii from her own arms, and her eyes lingered on the pair. No longer thrashing and attempting to free herself from an unseen assailant, Chii seemed to be settling slowly into normal sleep. She walked beside the two of them as they headed inside, and she held the door to the dorms open so Ra could pass through unhindered. Ceara could not hlep but worry for Chii, but she wasn't about to pry into a past the girl obviulsy didn't want to remember. They got to the intersection of the dorms, her own one way, and Chii's the other. She had a feeling that now that Chii knew who Ra was, she felt safest and most comfortable in his presence. More people at this stage would only confuse her and perhaps send her into her fear again. "Take care of her." She said knowing she had no need to say it, but wanting to none the less. She brushed the hair from Chii's face lighlty and smiled at the now sleeping girl. "It will work out." This she said to Ra, looking him in straight in the eyes. "I'm off to bed, you take care of her okay."
Holding Chii tightly Ra entered the building ahead of Ceara. At the cross point her stopped and turned to her. "Thanks." He smiled warmly. "I don't think I could have dealt with that on my own." He sighed and looked down at Chii who seemed so peaceful, as if nothing had happened. "I will. Take care of yourself, and good night." Turning down the corridor reality hit him. Now he would have to put semi naked Chii to bed, on his own. Her door was slightly open already from where she must have walked out. Pushing it open fully with his foot he sighed, the was going to be hellish to explain to her if she remembered in the morning.

Extreme Cheese Alert
Uh...not sure what happened, I think this is what you get when you have to sit at a desk for 8 hrs with 0 work to do...anyway...
Cheeseclaimer - Rin and myself do not hold responsibility for sickness caused by the amount of cheese in the following RP...though I think the worst of it is my fault. twisted
It was dark in the living room of the suite. Ra waited a few moments for his eyes to adjust to the darkness. The last thing he wanted to do was turn the light on and risk disturbing her roommate. Although they had separate rooms the light would still creep under the door. Thankfully the door to Chii's room was open giving it a light touch with his foot he walked in and eased it shut with his back Hurdle number one over with. Sighing he noticed that at least sleep walking Chii had flung her covers back before she had gotten up. Crossing the room he knelt on the soft bed and put her down...reaching up to remove her hands from around his neck.
Chii was drifting in and out of sleep as Ra set her down on the bed. But for some reason when Ra attempted to remove her hands from his neck Chii's eyes opened, as if she really hadn't been asleep at all. "Don't go." she said, her voice full of serious undertones. "What if he comes back?" It was obvious that Chii's nightmare had seemed so real that to her it had been a reality. "Please?" she pleaded.
Chii's sudden outburst shocked him, he hadn't expected her to wake up. He really hadn't expected to see such fear in her eyes. Taking a deep breath he made a decision. "I'm not going anywhere." He declared. Removing her arms from his neck. "But I'm not much use to you if you strangle me now am I?" She was still shivering slightly and her skin was freezing. The room itself was not exactly warm. "Listen to me." He sighed lying down next to her."He is not coming back. I won't let him." He said feeling the chill himself. Being too tired too be gentlemanly about things, he pulled her cover over the both of them and pulled her closer. "You're safe now." He said softly.
Chii smiled, a sheepish smile. "No, you wouldn't be any use to me strangled." As he laid down next to her she instantly huddled up next to him. He was so warm. Shivering slightly she wrapped her arms around him and nuzzled into his chest. There was a hint of his cologne still lingereing, mixed delicately with his natural scent. She could have laid like that forever. "Thank you, for staying. For everything." She said softly.
Ra blushed at her closeness. She made him feel safe too. Safe and warm inside. Nothing more needed to be said Holding her tightly he rested his chin on the top of her head and closed his eyes. Before he knew it, for the first time in a long time he was asleep. Naturally, no drugs needed.
~~~~~~
The next morning.... ninja
As her eyes slowly opened, the sunlight warm upon her skin, a smile crept across her face. For some reason, one she coudln't explain, she'd slept more soundly, and comfortably than she had in quite some time. Outside there were a few birds singing.
Taking a deep breath, Chii reached for her covers, but what her hand touched, and what she had been expecting were quite the opposite. Instead of her down comforter her fingers gently crept across, what felt like skin. Panic coursed through her veins as she slowly twisted around.
What she saw was both exhilarating and frightening. There was Ra, lying fully dressed in her bed, under her covers, arms wrapped around her....and there she was, TOTALLY NAKED! Her first thought was to scream, to just out of bed and run into the bathroom. Her heart was pounding a mile a minute. What would her parents think? Had anything happened? No, that wasn't likely, he was still fully dressed, but then why, why was she naked? Utterly confused, and her body frozen to the spot Chii didn't move. She had to think about this, what to do...how to fix it...
Ra came too slowly, vaguely aware of the movement next to him. One arm tingled like pins and needles. Muttering something about not wanting to wake up in Farsi his brain became slightly more aware. What he was hugging was not his duvet it was warm, soft and smooth skin. Slowly and quite afraid he opened his eyes, to find himself staring straight at Chii.
It took a while for everything to sink into his sleep confused brain, soon enough he remembered everything. From meeting Caera to falling asleep with a totally naked Chiitra. From the moment of realisation blind panic set in. Realeasing her from his arms he sat up, extremely embarrassed and trying to look anywhere than at the obvious. "Uh...morining." He said lamely his voice croaky from sleep. Holding his breath he wondered if she remembered anything.
She was actually about to drift off to sleep again, when Ra's eyes suddenly popped open, and his arm rather roughly snaked out from under her. Her own heart beat once again beating like mad...maybe something had happened that she just couldn't remember?
Completely disregarding the fact that she was naked, Chii sat up as well, and faced Ra. "Good morning." She looked at his hard, searching for any inkling of what happened. Finding nothing, she decided the direct approach would probably be best. "Ra..." there was definite uncertainty in her voice. "Ra...Did something happend last night?" She looked at him, pleading. "Because I can't remember anything. "Did I? Did we?..." she broke her sentence off, not truly wanting to know the answer to her question.
Ra looked into her eyes and told himself that was the only place he should look no matter how big the temptation to look elsewhere. Her question too a while to process in his head. When he realised what she was talking about he blushed a lot and shook his head. "No...NO...No nothing like....that." He stammered. "Honestly I...um..." Heh, now this was going to be interesting. Best to do like a band aid. Quickly and with as little rambling as possible. Not easily done when the girl you are attracted to is sat opposite...very naked. "Don't freak out, but you were sleep walking. I was outside with Caera chatting and I er saw you. I tried to help you, but you freaked out. Caera calmed you down and you fell back asleep. I took you inside and you asked me not to go." He paused looking at her quizically. Did that make any sense? He was well prepared for her to freak out again, hell he would if it were him. "I'm sorry, I shouldn't have stayed all night. I didn't think I would fall asleep." He pleaded waiting for the enevitable.
Chii instantly flushed, a deep dark crimson. She wished she could just melt away. "heh...no kidding.." She tried to laugh it off, but was just too embarrassed. How could this have happened? She knew that she was prone to sleep walking but the worst that had ever happened was just her getting up and falling asleep on the couch....she never actually left her house...and she certainly never was naked. She didn't know what to say, and she certainly couldn't look him in the eyes. "I feel...so embarrassed. This has happened before, but never like this.." she flushed again, and buried her head in her comforter at the thought of her walking around naked, on campus... "OMG, I can't believe this happened to me. I'm so sorry Ra, to have put you in that position. You should have just left me..." She wished she would just die.
"Hey Chii, come on." He said taking a deep breath as he placed a hand on her back in an attempt to comfort her. "You think I want your hyperthermia induced death on my head." He said half laughing out of sheer embarrasment as he tried to pretend it wasn't bare skin his hand was touching. "I know it's not much of a consolation but I think Caera and I were the only ones who saw you. Skip to the end... says: Niether of us is going to tell anyone." He honestly didn't know what to say. He would have died of embarrasment had things been the other way round, yet all he wanted to do was convey how everything was o.k. She was safe which was the main thing.
If Ra could have seen under the covers he would have noticed Chii's look of horror melt into a smile as he placed his hand on her back. "No, I suppose dying wouldn't be so great." she chuckled, as she snaked her hand up his back and grabbed ahold of the collar of his t-shirt.Then with as much force as she could muster, she pulled him back down and sort of flung herself onto him, her face several Rin says: inches from his, and her breasts pressed up against his chest. Her arms were holding onto his. She grinned, "So I guess I should figure out some way to thank you..."
Ra wasn't expecting her next move. One moment she was, upset and hiding, "What the..." Was all he could manage as she pulled him over and flung herself onto him, a mischevious grin spread across her face. The difusion of her own embarassment helped to ease his as he raised an eyebrow and smiled. "So you should." He said, his hand sliding up her back. "And judging the trauma caused by worry, it had better be something good." He laughed narrowing his eyes. "I could sue you know."
Chii shivered as his hand slid up her back, and her smile widened. "Sue me? oh really? Well, you wouldn't get very much from. I only have about $20 in my wallet. There is'nt much else I could give." It was so easy to joke around with Ra, even under the oddest of circumstances, laughing was never a problem. "Anyway, I'm pretty sure I might have something to appease you.." She smirked, and leaned forward to kiss him ever so gently on the lips. Then instead of moving away she remained right where she was, her lips gently resting on his, her eyes searching his.
Ra pretended to think about the twenty dollars. "I could get a couple of second hand CDs for that." He joked. Then it happened, she kissed him. It seemed better than that night by the pond, less complicated somehow. When she moved away slightly he returned her smirk. "That'll do for now I suppose." He said hoarsely. She could probably feel his heart beating at an alarming speed. So uncool. Staring back at her it seemed like there was one thing left to do. Flashing her a grin he kissed her back holding her tightly and turning onto his side, slightly removing her advantage over him.
Chii let herself be swept into his arms, she was more than happy to relinquish the controls. Lost in the kiss the whole world was washed away. Reaching her arms around him, on grabbed his back allowing her to pull herself closer to him, the other became tangled in his hair pushing his head as she kissed him back with full force. She could hear his heartbeat, but next to hers it was slow and steady.
As Chii kissed him harder he started to lose his grip on the situation. As she pulled him closer he gripped her tighter, his hand moving down to the small of her back. The sensible area of his brain knew he had two choices, to keep going and risk a total loss of control or stop things before they got even more heated. Not an easy choice to make when one of you is naked and therefore adding to the intensity of the situation. Reluctantly he broke away from the kiss. "Maybe we shouldn't do this now." He murmured his lips still close to hers. His eyes serious as he hoped she would get the implications of the situation.
Delirious from the intensity of the kiss Chii smiled, and nodded. With any more kisses like that she wasn't sure what would happen. Lightly she pecked him on his lips. "Ok...but don't leave just yet." she pleaded. "You're so warm and cozy." She grinned, hugging him closer, and pressing her face into his shoulder. It was funny, while he still smelled like himself, his scent was now mixed ever so slightly with hers.
Suddenly, a smile appeared on her face. "You just want to stop 'cause you're afraid to touch my boobs." she giggled. For some reason, talking about her boobs just didn't seem so embarrassing anymore.
"I'm not going anywhere." He said resting his head against hers. He wasn't sure he would be able to stand up even if he wanted to.
Her second comment shocked him. He hadn't expected such a blunt comment. Scared? he was petrified. Brought up in a culture where women couldn't even show their hair let alone anything else. His ticket to hell just got stamped with the words 'do not pass go.'
"I'm not afraid." He lied trying to laugh. "I just didn't want you to think I was taking advantage. You being challenged in the clothes department." He grinned raising both eyebrows.
Chii closed her eyes and laughed. He was so adorable, trying to pretend he wasn't afraid. Pulling him closer to her, she hugged him tightly, and snuggled her head into the space underneath his collarbone. So soft, and warm. "I'm so lucky..." she murmured.
"Lucky? Why?" He asked playing absently with a strand of her hair as he caught sight of the clock on her bedside table. 8:00 Still way early for a Saturday morning. Ra smiled to himself. He could spend all day lazing around like this.
Chii blushed after he asked his question. "Oh, well, you know why...." she faultered, not quite sure why this was making her nervous. "...I mean because I have you. Because you're with me, here, holding me, caring for me, keeping me safe. I've never had that before." She blushed again. AAAAH, she could be such a girl sometimes, getting all mushy...perfect thing to ruin the mood. Some of her girlfriends back home had talked about this sort of thing...not to get all mushy, gushy in front of your boyfriend....and she'd done exactly that. Not wanting to look at his face she clutched him closer inhaling his scent.
"Me neither." He said quietly. He had always been pushed away from people for so many reasons. It felt good to have someone who understood him and accepted him for who he was. The thought made him laugh. It started as a nervous laugh but became more of a normal one. "Listen to us." He smirked. "We sound like one of those trashy romance novels my mother reads. Seriously this has to stop. Before we get the urge to change our names to Raife and Cassandra."
Chii pulled away from Ra's chest, a look half of offense and half of laughter on her face. "ugh! My words were not trashy! They came from the bottom of my little heart." She started, pretending to on the verge of tears, but ended up laughing along with him. "well....you better be careful 'cause Raife suits you far too well....My little Raify-poo!" She giggled, and kissed him playfully on the cheek
Her reaction to his words only made him laugh more. He blushed at her name calling and narrowed his eyes in mock offense. "Call me that...and...." He trailed off trying to think of a good insult. "I'll run off with the raven haired countess. "
Chii only laughed harder. "You fiend! Well, it's no big deal really. 'Cause I'll have the half-naked muscular farmhand to help me take my mind off of things.." She chuckled, giving him a saucy smile.
"Oh, really?" He grinned. "Well, I don't think I could possibly compete with that." He said giving an amused sigh. One of the things he liked most about Chii was her sense of humour. They could always mess around like this, in the oddest of circumstances. "Well, I'll take my leave then. My lady." He smirked moving his hand to her waist as if he were about to slide out of her arms. "I've got places to go...countesses to seduce." He sighed, an equally as saucy grin on his lips.
Chii raised an eyebrow, and a satisfied smile. It was insane how easily she got on with Ra, as if she'd known him all her life. She was about to roll him over when she felt his hand move. Feeling him slipping out of her arms she intinctively grabbed ahold, of his arms, and his shirt. "No!" she cried, unexpectedly, her voice suddenly taking on a worried tone. "Where are you going? I can't think of any countesses more splendid than me to seduce..." she cooed, her tone relaxing back to normal as she linked her hands with his and raised them up by her head. A smile returning to her lips.
For a moment Ra started to worry, when she shouted 'no.' He soon relaxed when he realised she was joking. Lying against her, his eyes searching hers. "True." He murmered, squeezing her hands in his once again very aware of her nakedness. Blushing again he sighed. "I do have to go later though. I have an appointment with the councellor." He paused and raised an eyebrow. "Unless you refuse to let me Skip to the end... says: go, then I suppose I'll have no choice but to miss it." He grinned, his eyes locked on hers.
Chii grinned. "I'll never let you go! You're my prisoner.." she announced, then a thought dawned on her. "Of course, if I happen to fall asleep then you'd certainly be able to slip away unnoticed...hmmm" She thought for a bit longer, then shrugged. "Oh well...either way, just lock the door behind you." She smiled.
"I suppose I should go and get changed." He sighed in exasperation and defeat. Ra released his hands from hers and sat up running his fingers through his hair. "I'll only get in trouble if I don't." Smiling he turned back to Chii. "Make sure you keep warm. Take a long bath or something...curl up on the sofa with your duvet." He shrugged placing a kiss on her forehead. "I'll call or something when I get back." He said, trying not to sound too concerned. He stood up and pulled the covers back over her. "Take care okay." He grinned as he located his shoes and headed for the door.
"A bath sounds good...but I think I'll just lie here for a while longer." Chii smiled and snuggled further under the covers as he tucked her in. A wave of warmth and calm washed over her and before he was even out the door she was off to dreamland.
Ra emerged from the bathroom showered, dressed and feeling human again. Once in his half of the room he dropped the pile of clothes he had slept in the night before on the floor, as was customary until he could be bothered to tidy up.
switching his stereo on the room was filled with the rough tones of No FX. Turning to the wall mirror that was closer to Scarlett's side of the room he adjusted he set about brushing his wet hair into its usual side parting...until something caught his eye. On the floor behind him, a magazine with a picture of a huge heart shaped chocolate cake...and the words. 'The way to every man's heart...' "s**t." He exclaimed audibly and turned to pick the magazine up. It was a cooking magazine, the february edition completely devoted to Valentines day.
((blurg...first posts always suck.))
= 32 = Starring: Scarlett Quixote & Rashne Kusani (Kaleidoscopegrl)
Scarlett was exhausted. She left early to make sure she could secure a practice room. More and more students were beginning to fight over the dance spaces, so if she wanted proper room to practice, she needed to be up and out of the dorms early. Keying into the room, she dragged her bags through with an audible sigh. Her hair was pulled back tightly in a sweat-matted bun. Under her school PE warmup, Scarlett wore her black leotard and rights.
"Ra, I'm home," Scarlett growned, dropping her bags in the kitchen as she took off her shoes.
Putting her slippers on, she schlepped her bags behind her. Disappearing behind curtain, Scarlett stripped off her jacket and tossed it on her bed. Rolling her shoulder, Scarlett attempted to rub a kink out of her neck. She truly missed her locker at her old school. It cut back on the pieces of luggage she needed to tote around campus.
"Mind if I take a shower?" Scarlett asked, pulling the hair pins from her hair one by one.
Ra looked up at the sound of Scarlett's voice and flung the magazine down on the floor, where it had been.
"Uh, sure." He said rushing over to his stereo and turning the music down. Dropping down on his bed he picked up his phone and checked the calender. How had February arrived so soon, He would be eighteen next month yet it seemed like it should be December. Flushing he glared in horror at the animated heart bobbing above the fourteenth. This year he was going to have to break with tradition and do something.
Scarlett massaged her scalp with relief as Ra turned down the blasting music. She never really cared for punk music. Taking her towels off the hooks on her wardrobe, Scarlett made a bee-line for the shower. Lately her mind had been stuck up in the clouds. Valentine's Day was around thr corner, and there wasn't a single guy in sight for her. All the magazines she had seen recently were all themed appropriately. The cooking one was justified, but the others she had stashed in her closet only made her look more pitiful.
Snapping the bathroom door shut, she locked the latch. At least she could think in the shower for a little while.
