"Perhaps," she was ignorant of the sun, far too engrossed in her drink and thoughts to pay much mind to any of the enviroment around her. Notions were dancing wildly in her head instead of subduing her into a deep meditation, and so she stood and paced a bit.
"But what is capable of great good is also capable of great evil... and to be capable of little... well, then the sin is less great. Perhaps it's foolish, but I'd trade reason and rationale and all my great notions to live as simply as any animal of the forest. Perhaps I'd be carnal and feral, but then I'd live life as it was meant to be, sucking the juice out of every moment and experiencing it all without delusions of self-importance or easily-contrived morals." It was apparent to her, at least, she was talking more and more about herself than some gross generalization. She stopped pacing and blinked, as if suddenly noticing the light.
You should see how he stares at you... you're like a creature of study. He's a scientist now, mind you... more human than you are. He doesn't understand us. The notion of her being like him almost made her visibly gag, but she did now look at Alyosha a bit oddly.

Alyosha listened as she spoke. the intensity of her voice rising and bringing out something in him which rallied against his recent existance. He pushed it back down, staring intently at her.
After a moment, he spoke. "To live as an animal might be fine if that was all you knew but to live as an animal having had the ability to think is a different matter. Animals have pain and suffering, live short lives of hurried, blurred encounters, nothing so great as what our minds have contrived. If you were to become animal now, knowing what you did then your animal nature would be different from that of a pure animal, not what is truly animal at all but a higher beings fabrication of animal-instinct.
If you were to become one not knowing what you are now then you would simply be one amongst many struggling to survive." He spoke slowly, as if he'd thought this over before.
"Perhaps I have been too humanised. I enjoy my comforts. I know that humans can be more cruel and rapacious than animals at time as well as more exciting. The life of an animal no longer appeals to me as I have realised that either way I could not enjoy it." His eyes were bright now, intense, a slight sliver of sharp canines exntending as he debated his point, something he had learned long ago to hold back. He was being more forward about his beliefs than ever before but it was taking from him a measure of the self control he usually exerted.

She stared at him a moment, as if really fully seeing him for a hanyou instead of a shy man for a change.. but this didn't cease her frustration. It wasn't that she didn't believe or understand him... that she certainly did, but she didn't want to believe it. She wanted to believe she could live better, more simply as an animal.
"A part of you enjoys it, surely, even if you don't admit it. Perhaps we're two extremes... you yearning to be entirely human and I entirely animal. I don't despise humanity, for they are capable of great good... it is I who I argue is not capable of this vast good, and I assure you, I would love nothing more than to have been restored to life as some banal, starving dog and lament about all the good I could have done than dwell in a humanoid body and do greate evil." She has become somewhat louder and more passionate in her speech than she had realized, but it didn't change her any physically, for nothing short of a celestial movement caused that.

Alyosha sat back, slightly perturbed. He hadn't thought of himself as wanting to become "human". He had always been someone who really appreciated the finer things life had to give him. His liscentious kitsune attitude had given him a wicked streak which he'd done little to temper in his younger years. Sometime, though, he had realised that acting a little more human, a little less like a kitsune, he was able to do more than he could otherwise.
He was tired thinking on all this. He had never been one for great debates on the nature of life, always he had thought of these things on his own terms, never in relation to someone else. He sat back, reclining onto one side, one hand holding the empty teacup. His views had been challenged and he found them wanting. He couldn't put forward more when he wasn't sure what exactly he thought.

For a moment as the silence filtered across the room and intertwined with the sleepy air of late afternoon, she considered she had said too much and too forcefully. A long gaze out the window as the sun's rays kissing the sky made her lament starting to pour out so much... everyone had their own beliefs.
Maybe she was comforting herself in thinking that ridding people of a human existance wasn't as evil a thing as thought. Maybe she was just convincing herself humanity wasn't a great gift... and destroying the dreams of this man as she went around stampeding on her own.
She impulsively crossed the room and kissed him on the cheek, her lips hovering around his ear as if she were afraid someone would hear her. "You worry too much about returning to a feral state. Not that I ought to speak, but everyone needs to embrace who they are. You are kitsune. I am a neko hanyou. Moderation can be attained, but never in complete denial of one side of your existance." She closed her eyes and stood quietly.
"Not all sides of your existance are so sinful." There was more stress on the 'you' than intended, and he saw her form start to slowly slip away, as if it were slowly fading and reappearing elsewhere.
"I've said too much. I will go." And then she was gone, leaving a nearly empty glass of lemon juice next to a bean-bag chair with the imprint of her form still in it.

Foenix walked into the Center and back toward Alyosha's rooms, as she had several times before. Unusually, Nehanda was not accompanying her. Instead, Foenix held a very large box, wrapped in blue paper and tied around with a wide gold ribbon. She placed the box beside Alyosha's door, where he'd be sure to find it, and slipped an envelope beneath the bow. The Note Aly- Happy birthday! I made these, with Nehanda and Nahda's help, and hope that you will enjoy their use within your home. Here's hoping that your third decade will be even more pleasant then the first two. ~Foenix and the rest of the Crew

Alyosha had not slept well, last night, after Sy had left. He had tossed and turned, burrowing himself into the soft duvet which covered him. His dreams had been odd, not unpleasant but not particularly pleasant either. Just odd. He couldn't remember much of them except that.
He got to his feet, his lean body contorting as he tried to stretch in the low-ceilinged room. His head was clear, now that he was awake, his senses seemed sharpened. His dream, odd as they might have been, had sorted his mind for him, organising his thought as dreams do.
Sure that he had heard someone walking up the corridor (it was that he thought that had finally awoken him) he stepped towards the door and opened it. Noone appeared to be outside... but the scent of someone was lingering. A very pungent someone. Chamomile... maybe or sage.. "Foenix" he murmered, turning around. He just about closed the door when he noticed the parcel and it's note. Picking it up he smiled and, like a child, automatically shook it gently.
"hmmmm" He grinned sneakily, looking around and pulled at the bows.

Inside of the box were two large floor cushions. No wonder the box had been so heavy! The top one was obviously for Alyosha. It was made of deep gray velvet, with a backing of the same color but a tougher canvas, so that the cushion could take a lot of wear and tear on the floor. At each corner, cobalt-blue tassells were fixed. The second pillow was quite clearly for Acia. It was a soft gold silk, with scarlet embroidery around the edges.

Alyosha pulled the two cushions out, one after the other. They were beautiful, soft and comfortable. Immediately he plumped the grey one down and say on it, wriggling a little whilst he looked at the other pillow. It was very Acia and he knew it must be for her, from what he'd heard Nehanda had enjoyed herself a lot with Acia.
He sat the pillow at the base of the ladded, to give to Acia when she came back. She was out before he woke up *again* and had come back rather late the evening before. He had warned her not to keep Alli out until all hours.
He noted to himself to remember and send a thank you note or go and see Foenix at some point. This pillows had re-enthused in his mind the idea of restructuring his home so that it could fit all of the new occupants (and maybe more, you never know)

Ieyasu quietly pushed open the door leading into the Community Centre, stepping in before closing it behind him. The morning sun already pleasantly warm, he was dressed lightly, his bag slung casually over one shoulder.
Vaguely, he wondered if he could find some extra supplies here. He remembered something being said about it on his arrival. The main circular room was quiet when he passed through. Where were the kitchens? And was there someone here for him to ask? Ah, there - that looked like a kitchen just through that doorway. Now that that had been established, was there anyone around?

Ieyasu frowned as he stood in the main room. Surely everyone was awake by now? It wasn't that early. Sighing, he decided to look around; see if anyone was about in the building at all.
He started down one of the branching corridors. It didn't seem to lead anywhere important - there were closed doors at various intervals, but he couldn't hear anyone moving about nearby. Making it to the end of the corridor, and finding nobody about, he turned. Time to check the other corridor, then.
Crossing the circular room again, he headed over to the other passage. This one was different - there weren't any doors along it. There was, however a door at the end. Approaching the closed door, Ieyasu paused a few feet away from it, considering.
Whereas the other rooms were silent, he thought he could hear movement on the other side. Sounded like someone was in there at least. And the worst they could do was to tell him to piss off if he disturbed them.
After a moment, he shrugged and knocked.

Nyxa slipped into the community center, Lucius in tow. Julian was napping back at the home. It'd been a while since both Nyxa and Luc had had any sort of company aside from each other. There had been many comings and goings in the center as of late. Seating herself in the middle of the floor on one of the cushions that were provided, Nyxa scooped up Luc and waited for someone to appear. Surely someone would.
Lucius waaarked softly, black eyes intent on his surroundings. Catching sight of a small ball of fluff that was wafting across the floor, he broke free from Nyxa and started to silently stalk the unassuming piece of fuzz. Rump up, tail at attention, he nearly belly-crawled in his maneuvers.

Pubelo had made her entrance through the doors to the inside of the Centre, silently swooping and spreading her paws to land gracefully on the ground, her flight feather tips just brushing the ground and folded back upon her back. It also marked the entrance of her guardian, Fae, who followed her closely. The little owl/wolf always loved to fly ahead of Fae, which could lead to tragedy one day if she wasn't careful.
Fae's pony tail bounced behind her head, looking this way and that for anyone inside. She had a few questions to ask, pertaining mainly to Alyosha. Although, the girl had a feeling here questions couldn't be fully solved, she'd at least ask. What would it hurt?
"Hello?" Fae called out, her voice echoing through the empty main plaza. She bit her lip and held her bagstrap to her shoulder. Silence.
"Peep?" The gryphon cocked her head to either side and looked quite amusing. She trotted around until a red ball in a toy box caught her eye, sitting there in the corner of the room. She hooted, befuddled, then pranced over and pawed at it. The red ball fell out of the box and rolled across the floor, the Aerandir having quite excitment from this, she chased after it around the room, trying to pick it up with her small beak with never any sucess.
Fae giggled, placing her hand over her mouth. Well, if she couldn't find anyone right now, the least she got out of this, or rather Pueblo, was some new found play time.

Alyosha heard the knock, got to his feet and opened the door. In front of him was a young man he'd met before, briefly. Ieyasu if he remembered correctly. His nose pricked at the young mans scent, remembering again what he had noted about him the first time around.
It had slightly disturbed him but the easy attitude Ieyasu had taken had convinced Alyosha not to wworry too much.
"How can I help you, Ieyasu?" he asked, raising an eyebow.

Nyxa perked as she heard a familiar voice, "Fae?" Rising, Nyxa made her way to where she'd figured the voice originated from, Luc disinterestedly following. Vainly he attempted to fly, though he wasn't getting any better at it. He could stay aloft for only a few moments before flailing and landing messily on his padded feet.
Turning the corner, Nyxa caught sight of Fae and her Aerandir. Nyxa's gray eyes widened as she clapped her hands in delight. "Faeee! Your Aerandir is gorgeous!"
Luc's black, pitless eyes rested staidly on the other gryphon. Neck feathers instanly fluffed, wings lowered. With a low 'bawk' of greeting, he moved towards the gorgeous Aerandir, a very interested look in his eyes.
