Tsume nodded in answer to Talia's question, taking in the sight of the mountains that had been his home. It felt good coming back he noticed, even though he hadn't exactly missed it. It was just the return to something that felt familiar.
"We'll be there soon. The river that you can hear actually runs through the packs territory."
He kept close to her now, his body alert as they drew closer. He didn't think anything would jump them, but better save than sorry. And that was also why he announced his presence to the two Alpha's, as well as telling them that he had brought another wolf with him.
He listened to his howl as it echoed in the mountains. This way Hige and Loki wouldn't be surprised when he suddenly showed up again.

Talia didn't mind the proximity. She had only ever been told of behavior while in the presence of other packs, and vaguely understood that he must be a little uncertain, or maybe he was just playing it safe. She allowed her tail to lower to a more respectable stance, not wanting to offend the alphas by showing more dominance than they. Some of them could be very touchy about that, as she'd seen in her father's new mate, and heard from the others in their pack.
She simply looked to her mate as he called into the forest to announce their arrival, waiting until he'd finished to brush her head against his. She felt a little nervous, but would try not to show it.
Talia's ears perked atop her head. A few moments later a call echoed back, deeper in pitch like Tsume's, and loud. The alpha male, she assumed, and he sounded like a large wolf from the depth of his howl.

Tsume nodded to himself as Hige's answer came back to them. Now that the two alphas were expecting Talia and him it would be rude to keep them waiting. Keeping his tail low but his head held up from this point on, not wishing to offend the pack-leaders.
"We'll stop by Hige and Loki's den first. Then I will show you the ocean." He promised her, rubbing their muzzles together. Then he started off in the direction of the alphas den, knowing the way by heart.

Talia smiled and followed. She knew she could trust Tsume, call it intuition if you wish.
She kept reasonably close to Tsume's side for various personal reasons, nose taking in the mingling scents of the other pack members. She could faintly smell Tsume in here as well, though with his recent absence it was faint anywhere but beside her. She could smell two other males, no, three, one was also faint and seemed stronger the closer they had been to the pack's borders. There was a female scent leading that one away.
She could smell Tatiana, Thayne, Loki, and Hige, and they were getting closer as they went further into the land. This place seemed like heaven, it wasn't a surprise that they'd picked out this area for their pack, a large water supply, a variety of landscapes, plenty of space? Would their own pack find such a happy territory to call their own?
"It's incredibly spacious, I wonder if the land we pick will be anywhere near this large..." She murmered aloud, more musing than asking.

Tsume looked at Talia and smiled. "And even if they don't, it all depends of what the pack makes of it."
He breathed in deeply, seeing which of his packmates were closeby, if any. They weren't close, but he would like to say goodbye before he returned with Talia to their den.

Tat had been roaming the boundaries again, planning her escape into the world beyond the packlands but a familiar yet friendly scent managed to twist it's way through the branches and foliage to her. Within seconds she was bounding away from the boundaries Hige had created to greet the old pack member she had missed.
Long strides carried her swiftly through the brush, logs in her way were nothing more the obstacles in which to enjoy a ride in the air before her paws hit the ground again. The smells were growing stronger and the scent of another, unfamiliar she-wolf was mingled with Tsume's but Tat cared not. If this wolf was with Tsume she must be alright.
Within mere seconds Tat leapt from the brush at Tsume, tongue hanging out of the side of her mouth as she tackled him to the ground, yipping happily that he had returned.
"Tsume! Where have you been? Did you have fun? Were you at the Freelands? Whose your new friend? Can we play now?" Tail wagging ruthlessly Tat looked at Tsume with joy dancing in her eyes.

Talia was aware of the approaching scent a bit too late. With a gasp and startled yelp she jerked away, abandoning her close proximity with Tsume. On reflex she bristled and splayed her legs, lips curling back-- as soon as she heard the voice....
Of course, it had to be a pack member, they were in pack lands, how stupid of her!
Talia sighed softly and relaxed, watching the two with a slow grin.

Poor Tsume didn't manage to dodge Tatiana like Talia had, and took the tackle full force. Hitting the ground with a thud he looked up at the adolecent wolf and surpressed an instinktive growl. He had been so lost in thought he hadn't even noticed her aproaching.
Detangeling from her lighter form he shook his head at the younger one. "Yes I've been to the freelands. But you have to wait until later. I have to talk to Hige and Loki before I have time to talk to you."
He looked at Talia with a small embarrased smile. "Talia this is Tatiana, one of our younger pack-members."
He headed over to his mate. "Let's keep going then, shall we?"

Tatiana huffed, a little put-out that Tsume wouldn't play with her. Ah well, she'd had just heard her father so maybe that was where the couple were going. Turning to the new female Tat's tail wagged once more. "Hi Talia!" Tat moved around Tsume to walk between the two and talk to Talia. "I am Tatiana but you can call me Tat or Tatti. So how did you met Tsume? Are you two a couple? Is he nice to you? Are you nice to him? Do you love each other?" Once again Tat went on another one of her quesiton rampages. That bit of her puppy hood she had yet to grow out of but she didn't question idiotic things...usually.

Talia had given Tsume a nod after a moment, not expecting for him to so easily continue them on their way. As she looked back to give Tatiana a smile, however, she quickly found that the female was already a blur moving to join the two of them on their stroll to the alpha's den. Not really bothered, if anything amused, Talia laughed a bit and turned her gaze forward again. Tatiana sure had a bit of spirit to be accounted for.
"Hello, nice to meet you Tatti. We met on a hunt. Yes. He'd better be. Sometimes. --And it might be a little soon yet to tell that much but..."
She looked at Tatiana and let her eyes slyly slide towards the gruff male's figure as they loped along, then back to Tatiana with a secretive grin and a wink.
"We'll see."
Translation: I'm already falling head over paws and trying to keep up.

Ts ume's first annoyance at Tatti for her rude interuption nd her pestering queastions, quickly turned into a state of horror as Talia answered the young female just the same. What had he gotten himself into?
He glanced at the two females, ignoring Talia's sly look for the moment, and tried not to let their animated talking get to him. He knew Talia would understand, she knew he wasn't much of a talker. As for Tatti...
"A young one like you doesn't have to worry about things like that just yet.." He glanced at her with a raised eyebrow as they walked on. "How have things been with the pack since I have been gone?

Tat would have squealed in delight with Talia's quiet and secretive words but Tsume had jumped in a bit too soon for her to let out vocal excitement. Eyes turned from Talia to Tsume at his mention of he not knowing such things. Holding her head high, eyes forward she spoke in a rather adult way. "I know very well about such things, I am not the young pup you left behind when you took off."
Turning back to Talia Tat's personality seemed to take an abrupt change as excitement bubbled up within her again cause a spew of questions to be ejected form her muzzle. "So you met while hunting right? Was he in your packlands? Were in the Freelands? If you were, how long have you been a loner? I want to explore the freelands but dad won't let me do you think that's fair? I am old enough right? How old were you when you left your pack?" Artic blue eyes glittered as she snapped her muzzle shut waiting for some answers.

Talia was just a tad unprepared that time. Tsume's interjection causing her to slightly pout. "Oh, don't ruin her fun." She teased a little in a quiet voice, indeed knowing full well that Tsume preffered to have his silence. She was kind enough to answer Tatiana in a more reserved manner this time, for her mate's sake.
"We met in the freelands, but I'm not really sure how long I've been gone from home. A month and a half, I think? I was a bit older than you when I left."
She nodded. Yes, that was right, she'd been but a growing youth when she abandoned the pack, not old enough to be an adult, but far too old to be a pup. It was indeed a miracle that nothing happened to her during her travels, now that she thought back on it. Her small size got her out of a lot of pickles.
"Mmm, I can't say I see why he wouldn't. All of the wolves I've met there have been friendly. Is it that obvious that I'm from a pack, myself?"
She directed the question to both Tatiana and Tsume. She'd never thought on it before, but maybe it was. She had some bit of trouble hunting even as an adult, that's how Tsume found her after all, taking a nose dive after some stubborn bovine...

Tsume looked at his mate and couldn't surpress a small smile. "It isn't obvious per say. But wolves that have been loners from an early age and stay that way just seem to have a... harder edge to their personality."
He looked ahead as they walked, wondering if that was true for him... probably. He liked the quiet more and solitude, and prefered calm wolves over the overly excited ones. Glancing back at Talia he smiled softly, and then turned his eyes to Tatiana. "You sure still seem to act like a pup sometime. Are you sure you're growing up yet?"
His tone was teasing her as well as holding a hint of truth. Not that he wanted Tatti to change, just maybe... maybe egt in on the teasing with them.
