"Maybe there's a little fisher-blood in him?" R'ael calls over to Remia and N'tren, grinning, as he studies his own knot work, though he looks back to his own work quickly, not really expecting to be answered. "How are you doing with yours, little brother?" He glances back to G'dor, making a fuss over his milk brothers younger age because he's getting bristly from G'dors teasing.

((you know I keep forgetting that? I am back up to 31k so not so bad))
Laughing, N'tren shook his head no to both Remia and R'ael. His knot was pretty firm and better than some others he saw in the class. Setting it down next to him, the youth spoke.
"No Weaver or Fisher that I know of in my blood. But in the small holds everyone learns a little of everything in order to survive."

"I suppose you're right..." R'ael grins back, looking back up from his careful knot work. "But I'm sure you would have done well in either. Probably better at the weaving and such than I would though." He holds up his hands, large to match the rest of his frame, and rough from his work at the fisher-hold. "Mine are just a little the wrong size for such fiddly stuff."

Remia smoothed out her knot one more time, hoping that Trith wouldn't continue her previous line of questioning. Instead, she looked over at R'eal and G'dor.
"I.. don't want to be a pain, but would either of you like some help, now that I'm done? Just another eye, because I don't think the Weyrlingmaster would like it if too much help was given," she said, looking from one to the other, a smile curving her lips.
She wanted them to accept, not out of any sense of lording her craft over someone, but because she thought they might be becoming friends, and she wanted to further that. If they declined, she would accept it gracefully, however, even though it would be a sore disappointment.

R'ael considers this a second, looking at his own careful slow knot and then nodding. "I wouldn't mind if you wanted to take a look. It's all -tiny-..." He grumps, though not seriously. He's sure G'dor's going to go back about 'skirt chasing', his little brother having that much in common with the family at least, the dogged tenasity not to let go of something that works...but she offered, and he could use the extra pair of eyes.

Remia was delighted, and she moved to sit closer to R'ael so she could see what he was doing. It actually wasn't bad, so far, and she said so. She pointed her finger along one of the recent sections, where there was a pair of cords that had twisted. It wouldn't be hard to undo, however, and she said, "Take it back just a few steps, and untwist them, and then you're alright again! It's probably partly my fault, anyway, for distracting people while they were trying to work."
Trith, meanwhile, had adjusted her position so that both she and Datiath were comfortable. Do you think the rain will fall soon? she asked him, with a low vocal murmur. She was keeping an eye on her rider, but her eyes showed a happy blue.

"Ah! Sorry..." R'ael apologizes, as he moves to repair the knot work. "I do fine with ropes but this stuff is so -SMALL-...." He mutters, embarassed. "It's like trying to teach a heard beast to line dance. I'm surprised it's not ruined..."

Datiath allowed Trith to move and get more comfortable. Rumbling in a low bass, his eyes whirling lazily in a contented blue, the larger sibling replied. I do hope it will rain. Rain feels good on my hide.
Meanwhile, N'tren sat waiting. He wondered how long they had been at class. His own hunger was starting to mimic the slight edge in the back of his dragon's mind.

Remia shook her head. "You're doing fine! I wasn't always good at knotwork, either... but it is my craft, and I am a senior apprentice, so I've been put through my paces. I'm sure by the time you do a couple of these, you'll be like an old pro!" she said encouragingly.
Trith agreed with Datiath, and said, I like it when it rains hard, and then it feels like a good itching all over my hide. But this is good, too, she said, and a happy sound drifted up from her. She liked being near her clutchmates.

I like how clean I get when it rains. Almost like I am freshly scrubbed all over. Datiath closed two of his three lids and watched as N'tren and the others played with the pieces of string.
Suddenly there was a crackle of thunder in the distance and Datiath startled. So loud!
N'tren also jumped from the sudden crackle of thunder and then looked around sheepishly. "Still sounds like the storm is a ways off."

Trith jumped when the thunder cracked, and after a look up at Datiath, she settled herself back down so he could get comfortable again if he wanted. It is very loud. I did not see the flash, did you? she asked.
Remia hadn't startled as badly as N'tren, but she did take a look around, wondering if there was going to be more lightning.
"If there's going to be lightning, should we be out here?" she asked, knowing that lightning was dangerous. A different kind of dangerous from Thread, perhaps, but danger was danger, really.

"I didn't see any sky flashes, so perhaps it is a slow moving storm. I bet that startled many a folk, though." N'tren tried to recover and wondered what else there would be to learn today. His stomach rumbled sounding like a peal of thunder.
"I guess I am hungry. Or my stomach says so."
I did not see any flashes. Perhaps now the rain will fall and we will be clean. Datiath draped his neck and head across Trith's back and settled again. It was so nice to have friends!

G'dor smirked over towards his brother as the girl approached him for help. Well it seemed that he had gotten so good at his little persuit that the girls were now returning the favor and coming to him. G'dor knew he was probibly over thinking things but it was amusing none the less. He turned his focus back to his knot, working it carefully into the shape that had been instucted. He had an eye for detail and even if it looked 'good enough', it simply wansn't 'good enough' for him.
Rain is coming soon. Queth announced happily.
G'dor paused in his knotting to look up to the sky, a bit of drizzle meeting with his forehead. "Just fantastic... now we'll be soggy.

"Oh the little joys of life." G'dor sighed, gathering himself up and putting the completion of his knot on hold. Sure it was taking longer than most of the class, but he always prided himself in being very careful in his work. Queth waddled himself over, nudging his head up under G'dor's arm in order to coax a head rub out of him. The chalk-haired boy was happy to comply, gently scratching at the eye ridges of the dragonet. "Shall we then?" He glanced over to his brother, raising an eyebrow a bit, "If you're quite done flirting that is. If not I can let you escort the lady back."
