Darksol88 Poliwhirl was instantly recalled with his attack, to prevent incurring any damage from attacks to come. Nidoran, however, was at risk for Xatu's Steel Wing. He knew this was cheap by now, but he had little other choice... "Nidoran, you've done everything you could. Let's try to go out with a parting gift. Fury Attack." Taking to the more reckless route with the given command, Nidoran went into Xatu's attack and tried to do whatever he could before getting nailed hard and sliding against the ground. He didn't move further, unable to continue the fight. The Xatu turned around and looked upon the fallen Nidoran. "Finally." Jackie said. I cringed seeing the Nidoran unable to finish the fight. "Ugggh." I moaned. "Nidoran is unable to battle, this round goes to Xatu!" The ref proclaimed. I looked on at Aden. This was his last chance...

Aden had no choice, exchanging his Nidoran for Poliwhirl. "This... is bad. Poliwhirl, buy a little time here with Bubblebeam, alright?" By now, he had a feeling that he had lost this, running on borrowed time. He still refused to give it up, though.

Darksol88 Aden had no choice, exchanging his Nidoran for Poliwhirl. "This... is bad. Poliwhirl, buy a little time here with Bubblebeam, alright?" By now, he had a feeling that he had lost this, running on borrowed time. He still refused to give it up, though. The bubblebeam soared its way across the field and blasted the Xatu, sending it back a bit. Something then tripped my senses, and I gave a hard sigh. Oh hell... The sky grew dark and down came one powerful surge of energy. Future sight had shown itself.

"Now... Hy- Poliwhirl!" Aden didn't know what to do, if there was anything he could do. He watched as the surge of energy blasted Poliwhirl away, sending him near the edge of the field. He ran over immediately and knelt down, wishing he hadn't forgotten about that attack being on its way. "Hey, get up! We've still got this... Poliwhirl?"
His Pokemon wasn't getting up. The attack had been too much for it to handle. Wide-eyed, he looked down. This match was over, he still had a ways to go. "...I'm sorry..." He recalled his fallen Pokemon and finally got to his feet.

"Poliwhirl is unable to battle. This match is now over. The victory goes to Xatu and the apprentice of the Violet City Gym, Jackie!" The ref called out. "Son of a gun." I said to myself. "I have to say, that was a valiant effort on Aden's part." Falkner spoke. "Yea." Falkner and I got back up from our seat and made our way on to the field. Aden still had a bit to go it seemed. As he has been reminded, the gym leader tour is a whole different ball game. "That's what you get for getting uptight with me, fairy!" Jackie called out.

"Still wasn't enough... I'll have to hold off this tour, I'm still not ready." Aden spoke up. "And Jackie, you sounded pretty worried when your Xatu almost went to sleep, or when Fearow was poisoned. You're in no better position to speak than I am!" Somewhere in there, there was in fact a spine. "I'm already eating my words anyway."

Somewhere in there, there was in fact a spine. "I'm already eating my words anyway." "........" He's learning, if anything. "Now now. We can bicker all we want, but what is done is done." Falkner said. "Come on, Aden. Let's head off to the Pokemon Center. Lunch is on me, alright?" I said. "Hmph." The Xatu flew its way to Jackie's side as Jackie crossed his arms. Aden's words fell on deaf ears.

"Yeah, sure." Aden was rather quiet as he walked to the elevator. "Say, Blizz, where were the three gyms you were talking about? We can get to those so you can talk to them. I don't want to keep you waiting..." He asked. Learning or not, this was something he never counted on. He had figured he could handle the first gym, but to not even get through the apprentice was a little crushing.
Another trip here would have to wait, in any case.

I don't want to keep you waiting..." He asked. Learning or not, this was something he never counted on. He had figured he could handle the first gym, but to not even get through the apprentice was a little crushing. Another trip here would have to wait, in any case. "Don't worry about it, Aden." I said, putting my arm around his shoulders. "Like I said, we will get to them soon enough. They know that I can handle myself just fine." I said as I stepped upon the elevator. On the way back down, I looked to Aden. I knew how crushed he must have felt. "Aden...don't let this get to you. This was just one amongst many you will be having in this tour." I said to him.

Still, we can come back here sooner than you think, though it may be viable for you to look in a few things while we're in the vincinity of Violet City. There are some birds around here too, you know? Or..." A thought had occurred to me. "Anyways..." The elevator hit the bottom and I got off. "I'll tell you more during lunch. Maybe we can talk more on the battle too while we're at it. You know, a bit of reflection, you know?"

"That's true... alright." Aden was quick to follow, almost going past Blizzard even. Right now, he was more concerned about getting his Pokemon healed up, or at least the two that needed it. Since he had yet to let his Raticate out, it was most likely fine.

With a shrug, I made my way off outside, following Aden. Apparently Aden has a lot on his mind. The boy really needs to relax for Christ sakes. It made me wonder if only a little though... "Aden? Do you even know where the Pokemon Center is?" I asked.
