Fenix took a sip and looked of into the distance. He noticed the one-armed man in his pajamas walking out of the shop, as well as gave a funny look. Who comes to a coffee shop in their pajamas? He looked back down at Caddy's drink and gave a smile back to her. "Yeah, definaltely heart-attack in a cup, but it's so delicious!" He let a laugh out and gave her back her drink. What he did next, was not only bold, but crazy even for him. "You know.. if your not doing anything later, I'd love for you to come over to my place. I can cook a mean dinner. Maybe you can convince me to show you a few of my paintings." Wait.. am I thinking about showing this woman my insane shift paintings? Not only that but I invited her over to my appartment. I must be going out of my mind.. what's happening here? I mean.. I just met her, and she seems so.. nice.. There's no way she could like me if I told her about the shift. He gave another smile despite his wary thoughts.

Sally looked around the cafe for a moment and saw him. The IDIOT that'd gotten this mess started. She stalked over to the camera boy ready to pummel him for getting her sister all worked up. "OI-yes you!" Sally slid into the seat across from the guy angrily, she didn't even notice her sister break from her for a tripple mocha double shot of expreso with whipped cream and extra carmel. "Who the h*ll do you think you are, you know how much pain I've had to go through in the last like twenty minutes because of you!?"

The day was bright and beautiful. Warm sunlight had been soaking into Felix's skin as he sat calmly on the street corner near the local coffee shop. Such an interesting collective of people had passed him by on there way in: hyper active sisters tugging on a man who had quickly run out of the building, a curvy girl with a guitar case not unlike his, a photographer.. all interesting. All lucky.

Felix drew a cigarette and lighter out of his deep pocketed camouflage pants. He deftly lit the end of the addicting stick and quickly drew in the enticing toxins. All of those people had no idea what his sleepless world was like. At night, he would wake up in his dreams. It seemed so like the real world, yet so much more alien. Afraid to go anywhere but his room, the tall man would pull out his beloved guitar and play quietly to himself to keep the whispers at bay. He could here voices outside, inviting him to come play with them in their world of shapeless darkness. Sometimes he would look outside his dream-windows and see dark shapes smiling at him with malice in their eyes. He was always too scared to investigate.

Today, though, he had decided to leave the house. Any time during the day spent in the sunlight made him feel safer during the darkness at nighttime.

After taking the last hit off of his cigarette, he flicked the smoldering butt into the nearest gutter. The coffee shop seemed to be a center of bustling life today more so than usual, so he grabbed his guitar case and moved a little closer to it. Hopefully he would get more money today. His magenta orbs roamed the inside of the establishment through the windows. Everyone seemed to be having so much fun, but Felix felt so distant. He shook his head, shaggy pink hair moving softly against his exposed shoulders.

Slightly depressed, he took out his guitar, hooked it up to a mini amp, and quietly played his loneliness away. Maybe he'd make more money today.

((Hi! I just jumped into this role-play and I hope we can have some fun~))

[[I'm going to be starting school next week, so i don't know how active I can be.]]

"Hmm..., you believe it's my fault that your sister was riled up? I don't really get why you'd try take your frustrations out on me. You act as if I'd had known she'd do all of that, and that it would agitate you.", Orpheus said defensively, taken back by the young girl's curt remark.

Pushing the hair out of his face, Orpheus replied, "Look, I'm sorry if it was my fault that she embarrassed you. I was just having a little fun, God knows I rarely get the chance."

He had truly been sorry for his actions and had been trying to atone for them by apologizing. He eyed her, as well as her sister. They seemed to be the youngest in the place. He had no clue why they would choose to go to a coffeehouse, seeing as how one would be no older than a junior high school student.

He also took the time out to observe the other patrons of the coffeehouse. A table with a young man and woman, a man very casually dressed leaving, as well as a few other people enjoying the escapades.

"So... what's your name?", he asked, trying to lighten the mood with a little small talk. "Oh, how silly of me, I forgot to introduce myself first, my name is Orpheus." He tried to force a small smile as he spoke, trying to avoid getting yelled at again.

At hearing his ame, Sally was struck by a fit of giggles. "So wait...your wife was killed, you tried to save her, and you broke the rules...so now you do photography insted of music?" She giggled, wondering belatedly if he would get the joke. "How'd you survive the past thousand years? Or did Pluto just not want you?" She giggled agian. "I'm Sally" She introduced "THe twit danceing on the table like a drunk woman is Serrenedy"

Caddy

"Uhh, sure," Caddy smiled, astounded at her own reply. "I'd love to see some of your work," taking a sip of her drink. She turned her attention to the few other people performing on the small stage, clapping after each one.
Caddy yawned slightly, but appologized for it immediately, as to not let him think it was out of boredom. It had been a long time since she actually had a good night's sleep. One that didn't include the Shift, that is. Glancing at her watch, Caddy realized she'd be late to her art class, one of the few things she still enjoyed about the day time. Yet, being here in this corner street coffee shop with Fenix seemed much more enjoyable. It wouldn't hurt to just miss one class, would it?

[So sorry I didn't post sooner, I didn't realize how long it's been Dx]

(GAH!! Sorry everyone, I've been hecka busy the past week and all with the plans of possibly moving out of my current residence, I'll try to hop on as much as i can, but I can't make any promisses because I'll be Job Searching and the like for the next few weeks. I'll try to hop on as much as I can though ^_^)

He watched the other performances with Caddy. Many of them were good, but He still liked hers the most. "So about when should we leave? This place seems to be a bundle of amusement and entertainment. Though we should probably leave soon if we want to make lunch or something." He was starting to stumble around his words. He liked this woman, but he'd never done anything like this before. Well, asking out someone to his house. He hadn't tried to have a personal life since he was in college, but maybe things were just getting a little too lonely.

((This is a little, ahead, but something tells me a change of time frame cannot be a bad thing, especially seeing as how this is going nowhere.))

Zachary sat at his desk and watched the minutes on the clock tick by. The latest failure in a long line of failed projects sat on his desk. A plasma sword, what a joke. All it was capable of doing was casting light and making a funny smell. That and the invisible "blade" of heat that the most damage it could do is heat water to lukewarm. This project was about as pointless as the electrical-mace they had developed earlier which fried the two hundred dollar battery after only thirty seconds of use. He looked down at the "sword" and something in his head snapped. He threw it at the wall as hard as he could muster and watched as the metal protective plate burst off exposing the inner workings. He immediately bent down and began rewiring pretty much everything, pulling out resistors, and directly rerouting most of the major peices to the power source. At this point most of the employees within earshot were at his door to see what the noise was. He activated the "sword" and nothing happened, at least nothing new, just light and heat. Heat... he needed an ignition. Zachary set the "sword" down on his desk, pulled a lighter from one of the drawers, and lit the base of the blade. Immedeately there was a strong pulse from the weapon and it flared to life, flickered for a while and burned out. Zachary smirked, Not bad for something crudely thrown together in less than a minute. He handed the fried weapon to one of his employees in the doorway. Have this remade just as it is now, but include an ignition and find some way to keep it sustained so it wont fry again. That should take about a half hour, which is good because I have to present this thing in an hour to the brass. good thing tax-payer money isn't going to waste right?
Zachary chuckled to himself, seems like the first time in years that he had acctually made something work. He sat down and began preparing his speech.

((I'm bumping us ahead to near nightfall. Figure this will get things going a little more))

Fenix and Caddy walked up the stairs to his appartment. They walked to the door and the number nineteen shown bright and crisp in brass against the earthy wood tone of the door. Fenix opened the door and offered his hand throuh "After you" He was getting even more nervous now, almost worried about what she would think of the nightmares he was painting. The creatures of the shift have to be seen in true to understand the fear they can inflict upon dreamers. The sun was nearing the horizon which meant people would start entering soon and tonight was his night to wander instead of sleep. "Um.. Caddy.. we're you planning on spending the night here? It's hard to explain but I might not be here when you wake up." The chance of dying in the shift was always a possibility to Fenix. He wouldn't give her details, but he should at least warn her that much.

THey'd finnaly gotten the mold samples, and were finishing up their study. Sally took three sleeping pills and a benadrill, she'd been taking them every night for the past month...not that it had helped. She blinked twice, still atert. Ren was nursing a mochachino. THe girls looked at the clock. 8:52. "SLEEP?" Ren begged. Sally shook her head. "He said nine, not a micosecond before." Serrenedy groaned and shook more sleep out of her eyes. Sally willed the clock to go sfaster, Ren was hitting critical

The rest of the day for Leon was rather dull like usual, but that was the way he liked it...it was too strange for him to meet three people on one day that also went into the shift... He glanced at his clock as he laid down, still fully dressed in his usual clothing like every night, it was a bit before 9 so he closed his eyes and waited for sleep to come take him.
Leon opened his eyes again and glanced around, his room was colorless once more...the buildings outside slowly falling to ruin..but most importantly, it was quiet. He knew the blessed silence would be over once he went over and met with the sugar-addict, still it couldn't be helped.
The teen materialized his bladed staff and jumped out the window, liking to be armed when he was in the shift after he had a bad run in with a pack of Fiends. Leon headed through the streets and went to address the girls told him and waited outside for when the girl 'woke up'.

Caddy

Caddy nodded her head in thanks for holding the door open for her. Taken by his question, her face turned a light pink when he asked if she'd be spending the night. "No, I wasn't planning on it." She laughed slightly, "not my forte." There was no way she'd let herself spend the night, even if things got out of hand, she'd have to use every ounce of her willpower not to end up falling asleep here. That was the last thing she needed. To...wait..he might not be here when I woke up? She shook her head to get even the possibility of him ever being in the Shift. Not possible. Not even a little. Attempting to change the subject,"can I see those paintings of yours?" Caddy smiled.
