Brian and Carolyn grow more concerned about Thurgood's condition, so they go out to the reception desk to see if anybody is there to offfer an update.

After being escorted to the waiting room by an orderly with no patience for Jace's wandering, the Cajun consented to seating himself on one of those hideously uncomfortable plastic chairs and cocking a brow to each nurse that bustled past in hopes that one might take a moment for him.

Seriously, he could be in and out in just a minute with all that white magic hoodoo of theirs.

In the mean time, he would gingerly shrug out of that marbled, leather coat and bar-quiver rig, and cross his healthy arm over his chest to slowly roll up the opposite sleeve of his tee-shirt. A violet bruise was starting to blossom over the spot where he'd been struck. His lip curled back in distaste, but aside from that the man showed little sign of suffering. Propping his arm up as best he could on those flimsy waiting chairs, Jace would lean his head back against the wall and let his eyes fall closed, listening to the chaos of the busy medical ward.

"Ay ay ay.." He warbled, clucking his tongue.

The Last Pedigree

The odd doctor's arm was indeed deflected, although that deranged grin on his face was still plastered over his features like an over-tight band-aid. His mouth seemed to split apart at the seams, as though the flesh was just play-doh, that mouth extending into a toothy maw, before

POW

The doctor flew to the floor, landing a couple of feet away on his rear. His scalpel flew from his hand as he was socked in the face. He looked up at his opponent with surprise on his face. The doctor was fast though, and in an instant, he was on his feet again, this time though he just stared at the drug addict, his hungry eyes looking him over.

Had his mouth really extended and warped as Kenji thought, or were those just the drugs? Who WAS this man? Was he really a doctor?

Joseph wasn’t too far from the waiting room, laying half conscious as a small group of mages tended to his wounds. An IV in one arm and a blood transfusion in the other, he was quite the scene. Hearing a familiar accent, he called out, “ ‘Ey Cajun, come here. You got the same past as me get over here and have a medic look at yah.”

The Goji worshiper was obviously ranting about some random a** s**t yet at the same time what did Jace have to lose to come and listen?

Kenji III

"Midus really needs to hire better hospital staff." Kenji said slowly as the doctor flew back up on his feet.

The guy laden in a Ph.D only lab coat had begun a vicious staring contest. His jaw seemed to have dropped to the floor after the hit, but it was hard to tell if it was his punch... or something else that made his mouth appear that way. Sharp teeth seemed to protrude from his seemingly normal gums from two seconds ago.

What wasn't helping this situation was the simple fact that the drugs he had just taken were much stronger than he had thought. A hazy veil enveloped his thoughts like a misty fog creeping up the road from a mysterious lake. A calming sensation hit him hard as he too with dilated eyes stared off at the zombie. His body began to feel a little less becoming more numb. He was losing all normal thought processes as the cloud of intoxication over took him. Like a computer going to sleep his screen went blank waiting for someone to jingle the mouse

Jace's cobalt eyes slid open again and he cocked a thick, rust-hued brow. It had been some time since he'd encountered anyone with enough familiarity in the subtleties of accents to pinpoint where exactly he hailed from without being told.

"Heh, don' know 'ow you com' t'dat conclusion, ami, but much obliged." He pulled himself from his seat, using his dominant hand to wrap the crowbar and sheath up in his jacket to form an easily manageable bundle. Sweeping it up into his grasp, Jace rolled his neck to loosen the vertebrae as he made his way to this stranger's side and take advantage of one his his spare attendants.

One of the mages broke reluctantly away from tending to Joseph's wounds to pull up a chair for this newcomer, and then began gingerly inspecting the Acadien's mild battle injuries.

"Easy nah," Jace chuckled to the medic before turning an open, curious face to his neighbor. "D' name' Jace Benoit, pleased t'meet chu." This last syllable rolled from his tongue with a syrupy 'shh' sound, accompanied by an amiable nod.

"Mm-mm, yo' opponent sho' done a numb'r on you, no?" He grinned. "N' how did he come out lookin', ami? De'pouille I 'ope."

"Heh he won't be looking pretty for the ladies for a while. Names Joseph by the way. I'm from Houston myself, but my dad grew up in west Louisiana."

Joseph winced as the charred spot on his abdomen was attened to.

"Heh glad to meet someone around here who is somewhat closer to home."
PostPosted: Sat Jun 19, 2010 1:13 pm

A laugh broke from the Cajun's throat at that response. "Ah, c'est bon! More for us dat way."

"Houston!" Jace's looked pleasantly surprised by the news. At his side, the mage had managed to diminish the contusion on his upper arm and the skeletal throbbing had ebbed a bit. "Glad t' meet chu indeed. We a long way from home, ami. Ought t' grab a drink toget'r 'fore t' next round, once you've been mended. Expect I'll be gettin' antsy waitin' on t' judges' decisions, anyway."

"I'll be looking forward to it."
Joseph was finally to the point where his blood loss had been negated, but the painkillers and what not that had been added to the IV where starting to knock him out.

His eyes started to flutter and before the meds knocked him out he called, "I'll meet you in the hotel in about four hours, I'm just gonna take.....a....nap... Zzzzzzz"

With Joseph fading fast, and his conversation along with it, an exhale passed through Jace's nostrils and he turned his attentions back to the medical attendant seeing to him. His arm looked good as new, felt it too, much to the Acadien's satisfaction.

"If it's not too much trouble," Jace added to the mage as he gestured to the left side of his abdomen. "Bit o' dat healing touch here, ban'ed u' my ribs pretty good."

"Mm?" It appeared he had fallen unconscious, though where was a good question. For a spell, Omi Barsait could not recall where he was, nor for that matter what had occurred the past day. Like any whom wake from a deep slumber even if one could hardly call his tumble this.

It turns out mere moments prior to the good orderlies & mage assisting his way into the room the fighter had so closely reached, the "swordsman" in some terms at any rate had fallen entirely unconscious against the lovely wooden frame. How his body remained upright enough to not slump onto the floor yet was anyone's guess, but then again, this was a stubborn man after all.

Still, to be on a white bed was nothing unpleasant. All of his limbs except the bottom left, upon trying to make himself sit up at likely protest by those caring for him, functioned fine- but, it was that very left leg that prevented the mercenary from doing so. Gone from the wiles of his opponent, removed from the blood lust, plucked from adrenaline's good graces - that left leg's pain finally set in proper.

In a sense, this was a blessing as it allowed Omi to come unto an alert status enough his face contorted with withheld agony, no doubt again withdrawing sounds of pain out of sheer dominant will. However, his left leg beneath ring-mail armor, was bleeding a considerable bit by now, and was twisted and mangled horribly. What was originally a minor twist by the woman Robyn, Barsait had accelerated by abuse of it to stand in his battle.

The walk to the infirmary lost him some blood, which coupled with his grandiose and unexplained range fading, a tired body after extended combat, and a horrendous amount of suffering in his left leg, explained all too well the man losing his strength suddenly. Giving up the notion of simply "getting up," Barsait let his tense body relax best it could to try and offset the left leg.

No doubt they would give him some form of pain medication or numbing agent. Always tended to, and Barsait was.. "weak" as a little went a long way with him, so to speak. Nothing he looked forward to. The plight outside of his room, the [Serpentine Manipulation Artist] was not made privy to with his dance upon the door rendering the world around him hard to make out.

"Oi." Speaking plain as day and as though his left leg wasn't a bloody mess, Barsait calmly requested of those standing around his bed frame: "Long as you get my leg working proper, I'll be obligated to you. Nothing else feels out of the ordinary, very minor bruising and scratches here and there at the best, but my left leg was twisted to a significant degree at the kneecap, and though my memory is hazy, I believe I worsened its condition by putting pressure on it. Feels like something's broken, and I think I bled a good deal getting here 'cos the rest of my body's weaker than it was when I stood in the ring by a lot. BUT, I'll leave that or any conclusion to your finesse." A single confirming nod..

..then his head crashed against the white feather pillow again, the air conditioning reaching his sweat adorned flesh a true boon. Omi knew he could no longer stand. There was no point in passing away a potential speedy recovery.

It wasn't long after Leonard's fight before the paramedics walked into the infirmary. They were not in any hurry, as the injuries of their patient were not life threatning in the least bit. They deposited the fighter in one of the beds and left him there.

By the time Leonard regained consciouness, a beauitufl meld of science and magic had made short work of most of his injuries, his shoulder was almost completely healed though his arm had been put in a sling, and most of cut on his chest was gone. However the first thing Leonard noticed was that someone had changed him into a hospital gown and his thoughts immediately darted to his possessions.

Leonard called out for a nurse in a rather panicked state. His stuff was rather important to him. He kept calling regularly until an ugly, anoyed looking nurse arrived. The woman started by asking Leonard to refrain from disturbing the other patients before explaining that Leonard's clothes were being washed and that his equipment had been sent to his room.

Soon after a meal was taken to him, so Leonard ate some sweet, free pudding as he watched the other's shannanigans.

"There you go, sir. All patched up."

No sooner had the medic spoken those words than Jace was on his feet, testing the healing job on his bent arm with small windmill motions. "C'est bon! Merci beaucoup," the cajun spoke out, excitedly pleased. "Now, please excuse me, I got'a certain blue-headed mademoiselle t' track down."

A quick shake of the hand and Jace was off, eager to get out of that infirmary.

Of course, Thurgood isn't as lucky as Jace to have only minor injuries. Now out of REM stage, his brain is now emitting what would probably be called omega waves; the lowest level of wave the brain can emit while still being alive. Nurses are now transporting him to an operating room, one that is apparently at the other end of the infirmary.

That was strange, but it worked, she actually felt better.

"Quick, a mirror!"

That was odd, her wound was, healed, the swelling down. Adaire had to be careful, coming here could be an excuse for being reckless in battle.

"You're really good at healing, yep!" Adaire said, making sure to rub the girl on the head so she could feel for those soft velvet ears, "Yep! Yep! Yep!"

For some reason, Red felt really, gleeful, upon being healed. Very unusual for her. Well then, technically she could check out and go back to the hotel and let her unusually cheery demeanor wear off.
