not that im any God at this or anything, but i think you have the ideas and the potential. from what i see (your few edits on the first page) you need to do some bluring, mixing, bleding etc to make multiple tones and testures.
heres what i do. i get my picture in Paint. i make a simple black or bright blue outline of what i want (black outlines dont go good with, for example a nm scarf, but an intensly bright blue does) then i would maybe make all inside these lines one whole bold, simple colour. then maybe throw in some similar shades and tones of that colour, in different, spread out shapes. then paste it into Photoshop, and smudge/smear etc it all there. then maybe back out to Piant to clear it up and tidy your lines.
doing this a few times for each section works good. no ones ever really told me how to edit a different way, so this is the way i have taught myself 3nodding
the thing with me is, i need mroe ideas. i always stick to small things. then maybe later on, put them together. then make more of silimar things, and put them together. anyways, keep up the work.
