Nyx also skimmed through the folder. Not much information in it. Considering what she heard about the last raid and a mole, it wasn't surprising.
"Thank you, ma'am." She was glad to be given a second chance. Also, there seemed to be some complements in there somewhere! That was nice. Suddenly a thought crossed Nyx's mind. Not that thinking was something foreign to her, but this was a fairly unusual thought.
"Ma'am, if you don't mind my asking... what is going to happen to that Pidgey? The clone."

"Yes. Do take care to be on time and appropriately dressed. That means pants," the elite added wryly. "And don't go trumpeting it around base. Information is being kept to a minimum."
Nadja drew back, but paused. "Oh. Yes, that thing." She spoke as if she were referring to an object of inferior quality. "It will be disposed of somehow."
"Now then.."

Nyx knew what that meant... For some reason it made her sad. Maybe being around pokemon more and more was getting in the way of her scientific impartiality. But it wasn't that pidgey's fault that they'd messed up. It wasn't legendary, but there wasn't anything wrong with it.
"Um... Ma'am?" Nyx looked wide-eyed. " I apologize for interrupting... But, if I may, I'd like to take responsibility for the Pidgey. It is my fault that it even exists..."

"Hn," said Nadja, and seemed to think for a moment. "If you'd like. It's not a particularly remarkable individual." Her tone suggested she didn't think it worth the bother. "I'll notify the labs."

A smile formed at the edges of Nyx's mouth. "Thank you, ma'am." And then she was quiet. She'd interrupted enough, and with a wonderful result. Nadja would get extra cookies.

"Mm." It was a neutral response conveying acknowledgment and nothing else. "See what you can make of it."
"As of this moment you're also partners. You seem to have some personal attachments to each other, which should have some sort of effect. See the main office for your new room assignment."

"Yes Miss." She nodeed and closed the folder to read later on. Raid though...This was going to be an interesting thing to take part in.
It was then that Nadja made a comment that caused Jen's eyes to grow wide for a moment as a smile fought to try and find a way onto her face. Nyx and her? Partners? On top of that, a new pokemon for her new partner and a new dorm? It looked like someone decided to cut them some slack.
"Awesomeness". Jen glanced at Nyx beside her. "I doubt we'll have any problems as far as I can tell. But I guess it depends on how much junk we can cram into one room."

Nyx couldn't help but smile. Living with her best friend should be fun. A new pokemon was awesome too. "Thank you, Ma'am." She tried to wipe the grin off her face and put that professional neutral look on, but it was a losing battle.

Nadja smiled, and for one fleeting moment she wore an expression of satisfaction.
"I believe that's everything," the fiery-haired woman said, glancing at a paper under her hand. "Except.." She rose in a lithe motion, and the restful feeling dropped like a cloak from her shoulders.
She planted her fingertips lightly on the surface of her desk and gave the two a direct, discerning look. "I want to make one thing clear."
"Under no circumstances should you walk out of this office believing you have somehow dodged a bullet or that all is well. The both of you will be recovering from your mistake for some time to come. You are being partnered not because you are friends, or work well with each other, but because of your shared error. Should one of you ever forget, the other will be there to remind, and I do hope they remind because your 'first time' is now past. You will either succeed or fail together, and I will be monitoring your progress."
"Now is there any reason you've brought baked goods into my office?"

Dodged a bullet? So much for that thought. Jen nodded at the elite's words.
"Of course, Miss." Standing up, she glanced at Nyx and the bowl at the mentioned of baked goods before a sheepish grin touched her face.
'Well...Um...Ya see..."

"We baked cookies to pass the time... and we thought maybe you'd like some." Nyx lifted the towl off of the cookie bowl. They were still warm. Nadja might be an elite, and she might be peeved with them, but no one deserved to be denied cookies.
"They're chocolate chip and pecha berry."

Nadja had sent them off terrified and now they returned with burnt offerings. Suspicion - or at least the suspicion that they wanted something - was natural. One slim brow arched, somewhat skeptically. "H'm."
Then she smiled, fleetingly. "That's a nice thought. I would."

"Thank you, Miss." Smiling Jen bowed again towards the Elite before straightening up again.
"Um...Is there any more you would like to say to the both of us? Or is that everything, ma'am?" Oh geez....That didnt sound too good.

While Jen was bowing and asking about their closeness to dismissal, Nyx got up and brought the cookie bowl over to Nadja. Once they left Jen, her, and all their pokemon would be able to devour them.
Also she needed to pick up her newest charity case, the pidgey.

Nadja leaned forward to select a cookie - and on second thought, another. "No, we've seen quite enough of each other for today. Take adequate time to prepare - and if you run into trouble, do try to avoid getting shot." This rather alarming advice was given in a very casual manner.
