No the fault is mine. I said as I was lifted to my feet, and held there by my shoulders. I was suprised at her strength. You warned me but accendents happen, espacelly with me. Your very strong for someone so delicate looking. I winced in pain as I try to walk, but nearly fall again. (FYI: My wrists and lower back are wrapped in bandage-like armor, it's sets them so they can't get any worse and so they can't get busted agian. At least until there healed.)

Amaya grasped the ronin by his elbow as he nearly fell, bracing him against her shoulders to steady him: "Whoa, slowly... and do not worry about me, if I can carry a sack of oats all the way up to the storage via ladder, I can carry you for a bit, too." She whistled for Toto to come near and gave the command for him to kneel when he was near enough. "Down boy, down... good boy!"
She positioned herself and Kibakichi-san so that she could lift one leg over Toto's neck, pulling the patron with her so that he ended up sitting sidesaddle in front of her. "Are you ready?", she asked him while the horse still knelt, chomping the bit at the uncomfortable feeling it gave him.

((I have to leave for tonight... it was a pleasure to RP with you. Good night!))

I nod and shrug away the pain that was upseting my stomach. "This is going be a long ride back." I thought out loud. Yes. Let's go. Umm.. Where is Gigi? I look around and sniff the air. She wasn't anywhere in sight, but her scent she went towards the stables.

Amaya gave the command for Toto to get up again, holding on to Kibakichi's shoulders so that he did not slip at the sudden jolt.
"I sent Gigi back to the stables... if anyone there got the message, they'll be sending a rescue party now... hopefully we will get there before they do."
She nudged Toto into a walk. "Do you think you can manage? Or does it hurt too badly?"

My whole body tightens as the sudden movement from Toto getting up, jarred my damaged spine, sending shockwaves of pain that racked my body. I took a deep breath and held it in, and the pain lessened back down again. I snort at notion that I was in too much pain, and couldn't manage. No I'm fine. Let's go.

"Alright..." Gripping the reins with her left hand and pressing the ronin's back to her chest with her right arm, the stable master nudged Toto to go faster, leaning back a bit and tugging at the reins in an alternating pattern that brought out the most comfortable gait for the rider: the tölt.
A jolt went through the giant stallions body as he switched into the fast four-tact trot, his spine becoming stiff and motionless as his forelegs flew high in a staccato motion. Soon, the landscape practically flew by, the wind wipping the horse's mane against Kibakichi's chest. Foam flecked from Toto's muzzle as he ran on and on.

((On this sites are some examples of the flying tölt in icelandic horses. Note how the rider sits totally still:

I instintivly flexed the muscles on my chest and back as Amaya put her arm on my chest and pulled my back into her chest. I felt another jolt from Toto's body and then nothing. What the?! I said as I watched the landscape begin to fly by. I felt the wind and Toto's mane against me, but I felt no movement from Toto's back. What is this called?
PostPosted: Sat Jul 01, 2006 3:42 pm

"It is called the tölt.", Amaya commented over the tramp of the giant stallions hooves.
"Not many horses can do that. I managed to bring it out in Toto and Gigi, though." More foam flew from Toto's muzzle and he flattened his ears to his skull. The tölt was quire strenuous for the horse, but thankfully, they would be at the stables soon.
"How are you? Can you hang on for a little more?"

I nod and say. I'm fine.

"Good, we almost made it." Amaya reined Toto into a walk as they neared the stables, as the horse was frothing heavily from the muzzle, nostrils flaring and showing the red inside. Still, he held his head high and lashed his tail about, to eager to please his mistress than willing to give in to fatigue.

Iyasu wasn't going to give up that easily. She gently leaned in a little closer to Raku and tapped his sides harshly to indicate to sped up more. The A - line that Iyasu and Raku created made them seem to be almost one. Once more, the horse and rider gained the gap between them and Kibakichi and Toto. They were neck to neck, or so it seemed.

"Kibakichi-san," Iy-chan called out, "I'm almost there!" The geisha sniggered aloud.

I roughly tapped Toto on the sides with my heels, and lower myself even more saying in his's ear. Come on my friend, give it all you got! We nudged ahead as we quickly approched the archery range. "Strange I thought it was farther out, oh well." I thought and shrugged to myself, as we burst from the forest in the clearing of the range. We quickly crossed the distance at the end of range, I pulled in the reigns to the right. Toto responded almost instantly, slowing down enough to make the turn around the straw human target end of the range, and with a swift kick to the sides we were off.

'I'm not going to give up, not just yet!' She thought to herself, as she dug the medial aspect of her heels into Raku's side firmly. Responding to the touch, Raku instinctively sped forward toward the archery range. They hastened the distance between the opening of the woods clearing the range laid before them with visible targets.

It was very evident that Iyasu was rusty with riding. She watched with awe as Kibakichi rode with a swift ease and easy handling on Toto's reigns. As they, she and Raku, thought they were catching up Kibakichi and Toto rounded one of the targets and pulled a head of them. She smirked a little more, her competitive side revealing more of itself.

"Just a little faster, Raku." She whispered sweetly into the stallion's ear. Gently, she tugged the reigns to the left side, opposite to the hay filled shaped human that Kibakichi had just rounded. Fate did not favor them. As they rounded the other target, she made the turn too sharply and they almost slipped up, still they rounded it. Iy-chan cursed herself under her breath for not being as diligent as she used to be, but she kept her energy calm as to not startle or discourage Raku. Again, she tapped her heels into Raku's sides and bolted after Kibakichi and Toto.

I rasied up and looked at Iyasu as I passed her, I could see the fire of competion in her eyes. I looked back and watched her nearly spill on the turn, but she made it. "She's a litte rusty but she's got spunk, I like that." I thought to myself, as I lower myself back down, and turned my attention back to the course. Toto's ears were flattened against his head, foam flecking from his muzzle, and his neck was straight and streached out like a staff.

((OOC: EDIT! --> I have an interview this thursday! Woot! :3Sorry for not posting sooner. I've been busy with planning interviews, job hunting and revising my portfolio ^^;.))

Her digits intertwined with the thin leathery loop known as the reigns. Iyasu gathered her bearings and held onto the reigns little tighter while smiling silkily under the wisps of hair that had broken away from her braid. Her goal, as with any riding adventure, was to clear her mind and to let the wind untie her braided hair. This race was the perfect fit.

She noticed Kibakichi stealing a glance back at her. Although, it had been a while since she had ridden, she could not help but giggle to herself. She curled in as close as she could to the stallion's body. Her tall stature disabled her a little bit in the 'crouching' event.

"Come on, Raku, let's show the ronin what we have to offer." The geisha said more to herself than to the horse. The horse's neck and her back were arched together to create that A-line once more, or as close to it as possible. She wanted to close some of the distance between them, duo of horse and rider, however it seemed that Kibakichi was just out of reach.
