"Hahah. You are very funny, Lucia." He said with a playful tone as a couple of his workers moved to him and slipped their orders in front of him. He scanned them for a brief moment before running his hand back his hair. "..But if you really want to help, what would you like to do?" He asked, looking to the kitchen. It was just cleaned hours ago but by the end of this evening it would be packed. Maybe he should hire a couple of kitchen crew to make his job easier.
More and more slips were being given to him, and he continued to scan them to memorize them. "Do you know how to cook? Or do you prefer to play a waiter? Of course I will pay you for your work. Hey, you -uhmm..guy with the dreads.." Heyen called for one of the waiters, obviously having forgotten his name. "What does this say?" He asked, pointing to the slip.
"The name's Ditch, and that says three bottles of Merlot with an order of fries, a three-stacked burger wi--"
"Oh, oh..I see. OK, thanks Stitch.." Heyen interrupted, dismissing the lad rather rudely, meeting the award of being shot a glare. But the boy listened and continued his job so that Heyen could turn back to Lucia. "And the name's Heyen."

Lucia smiled and raised a brow as he laughed but had curiosity that he hadn't returned his name, her eyes following the slips of paper as they were handed to Heyen, she tilted her head slightly as he asked her what she would like to do "anything will be fine, i'm pretty sure i could be a waitress" She noticed his gaze shift to the kitchen and leaned over to have a look into the kitchen, it looked clean, maybe finished for today? however as he asked if she could cook she assumed it must be still in use, "i can cook" she confirmed smiling slightly, she did know how to cook, traveling alone for quite a while she learn simple skills, such as cooking. Lucia began to wonder why he had asked his worker "Ditch" to read what was on the piece of paper, maybe he had a problem reading? Lucia couldn't help but let out a slight chuckle as he dimissed his worker and already forgetting his name, Lucia felt the glare not just notice it as the boy walked away, glancing back up at Heyen as he then addressed himself. Lucia stood and smiled, pulling a ribbon loose from her arm and pulling her hair back into a high pony tail, letting it drop down her back as she quickly tied the black ribbon in her hair, she stood before him and smiled placing her left hand on her left hip, leaning to one side. "so where ya want me" she said with a slight smile.

A smile broke his lips as she fixed her hair in a more desirable way. As her hair fell to her back her face was clearly defined and revealed that Heyen brought a hand to his cheek with his index and thumb perpendicular to each other as he scanned her youthful features. "My my my..what a lovely girl you are." He commended with an approving nod before turning back to the slips that had bundled together. He frowned.
"I just might very well have to put you as a temporary cook. I have more than enough waiters running about. Here, I'll make things easy for you just in case. Handle these three orders as quick as you can," He even pointed out which ones as he spread the slips apart. "Of course depending on what you have to make it might take some time but you could use that time in between to work on other orders. Each order has a number here," He said, pointing to a bold number at the top, "But that's not your worry, all you have to do is make the order and be sure that you put it on the right slip the trays and plates for your dish is over there," He stated, pointing to the far right of the counter. "If you need reassurance look at the slip so you don't put the wrong order down. The drinks are right here and almost all of them are labeled, but if you have trouble just ask me and I'll get it for you. Got it?" He winked with a smile, but before anymore orders came, although they were already slowing down, he clapped his hands. "I hope you can move fast, Vampire." He mocked, suddenly vanishing in one distorted motion.
Like a blur Heyen moved into the kitchen, pots and pans seeming to fly about the place as he continued to move. Bit by bit the trays slips were disappearing and replaced with a tray. "OH! One MORE thing." Heyen said, reappearing beside Lucia. "There is premade food, not the best but these people are nearly drunk so they won't really know the difference. Besides, food's food. You could find those in the kitchen, labeled and kept warm. And I think that's it." With that final thing said he blurred out again, moving and zipping from the kitchen, to the wine, to the end of the bar and even into the tavern itself.

Lucia smirked slightly at his comment, she wasn't one for compliments but an odd one every once in a while was fine, she tilted her head, her fringe dropping over her eyes, raising a brow at the amount of slips, now understanding why Heyen had frowned. "no problem" she smiled looking over the slips as he spread them out for her to see. She nodded to show she understood and that she was paying attention, looking over the slips noticing the bold numbers in which he had mentioned, "right" she glanced back at the kitchen then at the rows of drinks, scanning where she would be rushing around, at least trying to remember the layout of where she would be working. She looked to where the dishes and plates would be, "hmmm, it seems small, but you actually looking at it, it's quite spacious" nodding again as he spoke once again looking at the rows of drinks, but paying more attention to the laybels, she smirked and raised a brow leaning to one side, "don't insult me" his disappearence made her tilt her head, "interesting" she mumbled. She walked her way to the kitchen, the kitchen was actually quite busy, she looked around and sighed slightly "right". Lucia suddenly flinched as Heyen appeared beside her again, she looked up at him and frowned, though soon paying attention rather quickly, only to see him blur away again "jeez" she huffed, lifting a few slips looking at them. She moved over to the meals which were pre-cooked i dentifying which ones she had seen on the slips and could heat up, also checking it to make sure it was ok. She recognised a few and picked them up, taking them over to reheat. Checking again the slips and taking out some pans and putting on the things which would take longest to cook.

Heyen was already filling trays to their fullest by the time she was looking at the slips, and his workers were actually having a hard time keeping up. It wasn't just his speed that kept him busy but the fact that all the orders came in within the same time, and they didn't want to make drunk people wait.
"You handling it well?" He asked, standing behind Lucia while gazing at what she was placing. It all seemed to match the receipts, which he was grateful for. This wasn't training, nor was he planning to give her a permanent job here unless he wanted; he was always hiring, but the decision was up to her.
For a brief moment he lifted his gaze to see a group of patrons teasing one of his waitresses. She wasn't the shy or nervous type. He could see in her eyes how much she was suffering from the treatment, but she didn't want to fight back, even as they reached over to take ahold of her. In that moment, Heyen vanished.
"Now now, my lad - hands off my employees. If anyone is to touch them - especially the ladies- it is me." He said with that joyous smile of his, but the grip on the man was enough to crush bones. It was simply a human, so the act was to no suprise, especially when drunk. But that was where the problem was. The rest of the tavern patrons knew of it, and kept quiet.
"Fu telling me fwat I can and can't woo?" The man spoke, rising only to stumble slightly. He had used his free hand to steady himself with the table, but even then he was swaying side to side.
"Yes, my good sir. I am."
"Whose you think...whose you think.." The man rambled on and on, unaware of either what would come after or stuck in a world of repetition.
"I'm the owner of this...tavern." Heyen implied, shifting his gaze to the man's friends who all stood up. They looked less powerful than he. Little human men who let the liquor work them like marionettes. It was a sad sight. "And now I am asking you to leave."
"Raining..is raining.." One of the drunks repeated, and Heyen turned with his ever-lasting smile.
"That is no longer my concern.." He replied. "Last night I had a rude intruder not only come into my bar for trouble, but hurt one of my favorite waitresses. I will not have a repetition. So, either you leave..or, you stay and I throw you out myself. Nonetheless, you will no longer be eating, or drinking, here tonight." Heyen assured, his gentle tone now mixing with hostility.
He still had the man by the hand, who probably hasn't realized that he had dislocated the wrist. They locked eyes for what seemed the longest time, but alas, the one he held spoke. "We've leaf.." The man slurred, and slowly stumbled their way away from the table and towards the door. They stopped there, letting a heavy gust of wind and rain pour into tavern. They turned to Heyen, and he encouraged them out with a wave of his hand as if saying 'Shoo'. "You won't die out there. I assure you."
They turned again, and though they saw the danger of it left the tavern.
"Are you alright, Pumpkin?" Heyen asked his waitress, who slapped him, and yelled at him.
"You aren't allow to touch me either! Or call me Pumpkin. Hmph!" With that she stomped away and continued to take orders, but now some people were hesitant to even speak to her. How liquor affected the mind..
"Well...anyways..how are you doing with those orders, Lucia?!" He called, spinning on his heel and turning back to her. Little by little voices were beginning to revive of tavern.

Lucia saw more and more slips coming and blew a bit of hair from her face in frustration, but her pace and progress didn't deteriorate in the slightest, putting on more pans and heated meals in the spare time she had, flicking the slips up to double check breifly, handling a pan the boiling water sloshed over the side and caught her hand, she made a light grunting sound but simply continued, managing not to drop the pan. she felt her skin burning but she knew it would heal so just ignored it, as the orders came in she was flicking up the slips to check what she would have to get next, at this rate there was no time for mistakes and she was working on five dishes a time. It helped that some were premade. She was certainly rushing around, Heyen's appearance made her jump and she looked back at him giving him a slight frown as she almost dropped something into the wrong pan. "doing fine...i'm gonna stick a bell on you" she chuckled lightly placing down three more pans and flicking on the switches, letting the flames jump up, once again checking the slips, she wasn't trained for this, but Lucia had quite the competative streak and wouldn't let herself faulter. She noticed him poof again and shuddered, she heard some slurring drunks and Heyen, judging from what she heard, no doubt some lowlife was grabbing at his workers. feeling the gust of wind from the opened door of the travern even from the kitchen, making her have a sudden shiver, but she didn't stop, Lucia knew Heyen was more then capable to take care of some mere humans. Huffing slightly with a smile crossing her lips, though she suddenly stopped and raised the brow at the sound of the slap, Heyen had recieved. The sound of the waitress' voice heard "ah so it was a female employee" she smiled. She shook her head and continued with her work, placing things in boiling pans and placing things on plates ready to serve, the sudden silence upon the tavern almost seemed deadly, but continuing the orders and getting people their food was sure to bring the talking back, Lucia glanced up at Heyen, noticing his red cheek, must have been the slap from earlier, Lucia couldn't help but laugh slightly and nodded. "things...are fine" she giggled.

"What's so funny?" Heyen asked when she giggled, though he was aware of his throbbing cheek. "This is the slap of a life time~" Heyen cooed, lifting a hand to cup his cheek with a dream-like expression on his face. Not long after he left his day-dream and looked at Lucia.
"You seem to be holding up pretty well. I'm impressed..what happened to your hand?" He asked, noticing the red burn on her pale skin. "You spilled boiling water on your hand, didn't you?" He asked, taking her injured hand and looking at it. Once again the cold grasps of a vampire was astonishing, but he ignored it. This would be a time he was glad too bad warm-blooded. "It doesn't look too severe at least. I'd hate for something to happen to you while you were working unofficially. But it'll come to heal within a day or less."
Once he let her hand go he looked at his own and flexed his fingers, enjoying his own warmth. "So you were born a full vampire? Is that right? Or were you human before?" The amount of slips were now diminishing, from either fear for driving workers too hard or because they had already filled their bellies with booze and food. Heyen was no longer moving about with incredible speed, but walking now.

Lucia had a large smile across her face still and chuckled again as his expression amused her. Heyen soon left his day-dream and Lucia couldn't help but laugh a little louder, it was rather amusing. She haulted her laughter and looked at the cooker as she removed one of the pans, checking the slips and placing on another pan. Lucia glanced down at the red mark which had formed on her hand from the spill earlier, "it's nothing...it'll go away soon anyway" her eyes widened as he touched her hand and her eyes turned cold as she stared down at his hand on her's. His hand felt a firey heat against her cold skin, shuddering slightly and shook it off. "uh, like i said it'll go away soon..." She took her hand away from him before he let go, looking at his hand she smiled and nodded "i was born full vampire..." trailing off the end of her sentence, Lucia continued with her pace and noticed the slips coming in was calming down, she let out a slight sigh of relief. She watched as Heyen himself had calmed and things seemed to be settled down. Lucia looked down at her hand with the burn, letting out a grunted sigh and placed two orders on their trays. heating up a few premade meals and putting on the last few orders she had.

Maybe he had spoken to much. It didn't seem like that topic was much in Lucia's favor.
He stepped out from his section of the counter and walked up to nearly passed out customers, gathering their food and plates and discarding the leftovers. He even discarded their drinks. "They are going to stay here.." Heyen sighed. He couldn't let these people go outside in this weather and in their condition. If something happened it would fall on him.
The tavern was quieting some, many having of fallen asleep as the time progressed. Many of his workers were now taking it easy, and had even ordered some food for themselves. Others were chatting up the day's experience, including the one Heyen intervened in. As he past the girl he threw her a flirtatious smile, but like a high-and-mighty girl she turned her head and huffed.
"Do you want something to eat yourself, Lucia? It'll be on the house for tonight." He offered as he walked past her, balance trays and plates on both of his hands so he could put them in the dishwasher. "I can always give you raw meat. Fresh ones to satisfy your blood thirst."

She plonked herself back down on the chair in which she sat, amazingly her glass of drink was still there, slouching over the bar. she pulled tiredly at the ribbon in her hair, letting it fall and running her hand along the side of her head and shaking her hair slightly. "well that was tiring" laying her head down on her arms resting on the bar. She looked around at the other workers, without moving her head, they all seemed to be taking a rest as well, a slight smile once again slipping across Lucia's lips as Heyen was ignored by another worker, she began to wonder if he got treated like that by all his female employees. Though Lucia soon lifted her head as she was spoken to. Lucia frowned just a little and looked away "that won't be necessary, i have my own...source...of blood" Lucia may have been a pure blood vampire who were said to have pride in themselves and only drank from a pure source of blood, but Lucia had her own standards and pride. No it was true her hunger was never truely satisfied but her method kept her sane.[/

"Oh, do you now...Interesting," He muttered as he placed the dishes orderly so they wouldn't crash and break each other. The last time she had a new worker handle these and it cost him dearly. The girl still worked, and all that was water under the bridge.
He kicked the dishwasher close and ran it on before returning to his section and spotting Lucia seated back comfortably in her chair. "First night in a tavern and you're already down. You know," He moved behind her, sitting on the counter top behind her and moving his hands to her shoulders, "many of these workers of mine go through this for days on end. I know they don't necessarily like the job but I try to make them happy enough. Now, relax.."
He started with a gentle forward and back motion to loosen any knots that he could find before pressing his thumbs against the back of her shoulders to release any tension. When he moved closer to her neck he was once again greeted with the deathly coldness of her neck. "So you will be staying until the rain dissipates? We do have a few rooms in the back. Not the best when it comes to smell but, if they aren't taken, you can use one."

Lucia looked at Heyen with a smile and sighed. "i've been traveling for day's and as soon as i got here i started work. Then i ended up here working in a tavern, i'm not complaining, i'm just saying i think i deserve the sit down." she never was one to complain, but she hadn't had much sleep or rest, since she left her village. Her eyes followed him as him walked to be behind her til she had her head tilted back and smiled up at him, Though her smile disappeared and her body tensed as she felt his hand on her shoulders, "i'm pretty sure they love it secretly" smiling again untensing, letting out a slight groan as he rubbed her shoulders. she looked outside as he spoke of the rain, she remained staring for a while before leaning back again to look up at him again "i love the rain so either way i don't mind, if there is a spare room then fine, if not...i'll find somewhere to stay" leaning her head forward again looking around his tavern, feeling a slight twinge of pain from her shoulders every now and again. Lucia let out a light chuckle "now i know why most of the girls are the way they are with you" she said giving a light grin.

"I know not of mademoiselle is speaking of. Monsieur Heyen is a gentlemen, and gives all respects to the fair ladies about him. Does..my massage trickle your skin?" Heyen whispered the last, hunching down uncomfortably to whisper it in her ear. But he pulled back quickly after, and let her shoulders free.
He pulled his legs back and kicked them so that he would jump over her head and land directly in front of her, and clapped. "Alright guys, just because we aren't getting any orders done doesn't mean we can slack off. No one will be leaving until this tavern is clean."
The Dragon's Nest was actually a twenty-four hour tavern, but Heyen was the only one who said those twenty four hours. This was his home. Not his workers; they had their own homes in West Sanctum. With groans and whines they all rose and began to pick up half-eaten trays. Most of his customers were already either wasted, asleep, or those who could hold their liquor were still talking and playing cards. How he loved his life..
He spun on his heel and turned towards Lucia then. "Can I borrow your ID?" He asked, referring to the bracelet she should have picked up when she had entered Sanctum. Since she was within the city he only assumed that she had the bracelet with her. "I didn't lie when I said that I was going to pay you for your work."

Lucia smiled and shrugged "it's to my liking" she chuckled lightly as he treated back from her, she instinctively ducked her head as he jumped over her. She watched him address his staff and asking them to help clean up, it was clear he was a very pride person and loved his work, his tone, his body language and his attitude towards his staff, even if they couldn't see it. His workers groans and mumbles brought a smile to her face and she shook her head lightly, her dark eyes scanning over the room at the drunks, amazed some of them were even concious, though there was a fair share of them who had passed out and completely wasted, she found it amusing, how humans could hold such weak alcohol in their system, was there really that much of a difference between a vampire's system to a humans. she knew that they were weaker and didn't live as long and they liked weird things, but they looked the same, was it really that different though they had the same bodies. Lucia sighed slightly thinking about it, she wasn't one to believe that vampire were creatures of the dead, she was born into the world as a vampire, if humans were born into the world as humans, did that mean they were creatures of the dead...no. Lucia flicked her head up at the sound of Heyen's voice, wondering what he meant for a moment and shook her head "ah yeah sure" she removed her black glove again and handed him her wrist, with the bracelet on it, she didn't like the idea of having it on her wrist but the glove hid it so she could practically ignore it, she tilted her head and smiled "thanks Heyen"

He took her hand to his own, purposely feeling the coldness of her hand. For a moment he lost his smile as he reached to the back of his pocket to pull out a ovular ring, a red light beaming into bracelet to illuminate red. "You know..for a female you have a strong hand...but there's no warmth." He muttered, slowly lifting his gaze from her bracelet to her.
"You are troubled?" Heyen asked, though it came more in a matter of fact tone, "Did you know that the eyes reveal much in a character? Especially in a moment of weakness? You just had one..something troubled you. Not only now but a couple of times before, when I touched your hand. Would you happen to be sensitive in your origin?"
Question after question he was asking her to bring more emotion into her eyes and facial features. To learn her wounds, her anger, and many more.
