I had an awesome Saturday. There was a tarot class at our local witch store and then a drumming circle at my house that night. Sunday kind of fell apart, but Saturday was awesome!!!!

Ok Entervixen, what kind of a spindle is that? I had a drop spindle, but I gave it away and now I regret it sad , how is a tahkli different? Or is it completely different?

Well this is what the one I have looks like: http://www.paradisefibers.net/Schacht-Spindle-Pear-Tahkli-p/2740.htm. It's an Indian spindle (not Native American, but from India type Indian) made specifically for spinning very fine cotton. It's a supported spindle which means you spin it on some kind of surface. I've been using a lid to a blank cd thing on my lap to spin it om for example. Drafting is done with one hand at a 45 degree angle while the other hand spins the spindle. Because you spin cotton on it it's quite a bit different than spinning say, wool. And surprisingly it's easy to do, I like spinning cotton now more than I like spinning wool (and that's saying something, lol).

Bleh...I can't knit to save my life...I can sew (both hand and machine) I'd love to try spinning or weaving though...
