BlueKiM09 DYK? Former President Corazon Aquino, the very first female president on Asia died because of Colon Cancer? And when she died almost all Filipino people came to her burial, and those who can't leave their homes just watched in their televisions the whole time ... All of the flowers given her burial was yellow... She did a lot for our country that is why many people loved her... May her soul rest in peace... May her soul rest in peace. And the welfare of the Fillipines pass from the hands of one worthy being to another. Blue, Do you live in Asia???

Blaizekit Kurumii Blaizekit You're welcome Kurumi. crying You know the story behind this team, last year it didn't exist as a team to begin with because I didn't know about it. Then someone that had it requested it as a team and a lot of others supported. So it became one, and when I started this year I couldn't forget that, so I put it in as a team again. :3 You guys might be a small group but you're stalwart. I'll be honest, it upsets me when I see "Brest Cancer Awareness" or whatever sort of months that happen/or events. I'm very happy to see something that supports all kinds of cancer, because when it comes down to it one isnt worse then the other. Anyone that has/is going through it has a hard time with whatever treatment comes. So im stoked that this will enlighten people that there are ALOT of different types out there that effect millions of people every day-not just one kind.To be honest with you, I struggled with that myself, and I still have to bite my tongue sometimes. One thing that just ticked me off so bad was when Walmart had pink Tic Tacs with a display that said "May is Women's Health month-help support a great cause" and it just seethed me because May is Melanoma awareness month. It was also the first anniversary of my mother's death so I was a little emotional^^;; Not that I have anything against anyone that has it or anyone who has a loved one suffering from it. What I hate is how companies capitalize on that pain and turn it into a sickening marketing ploy. I did a report about it in English. :3 Well its refreshing to hear that someone else feels the same way. Oh, so you lost someone also from Cancer? My condolences, again that must be a hard thing to go through.

May all those who lost the battle to cancer rest in peace. And all those fighting make a quick and happy recovery.

Hello all, just thought I'd pop in.
To add to the discussion, I agree about how sick it sometimes is how marketers take advantage of horrible things in order to make money. Not only that, but it publicizes them, leading certain types to have more support than others.
I mean, how many wealthy people do you see donating their charity money to a Lymphoma organization, or one for Melanoma, or Carcinoid (which I will admit, I even had never heard of until I saw it on the ribbon thread)?
Nope, most of the time it's to Breast and Lukemia. Now, I'm not saying that they don't deserve support or anything, I'm just saying that there's other types of cancers out there. All of them are tragedies, and it's a shame that some of them get pushed out of people's minds, just because they don't get media coverage or their own special tic-tac.

xAngel of Mercyx Nerdy_Boy_4evah FEELtheNOVOCAIN Mahogany Sunset Sign me up for this! I'm off to go get some daffodils. My grandad has lymphoma, but as far as the doctors can tell, he's way better than he was before biggrin FEELtheNOVOCAIN star7301 any one wanna have a march for cancer Me!! How do you suggest we do that?I have an idea: We could all meet in the Towns at a certain place and time, and walk around. A IRL march though, I have no idea how to do. You'd have to do an IRL one with people in your community. While I know a couple of people, it's not nearly the effect I'm going for with this as an impact on Gaia.
Meeting in Towns is difficult. If we chose a person's house to meet at and then move from there, it might work. Mine is sadly bare at the moment, so I'm not going to embarrass myself by volunteering.
Ill volunteer mine! I have it nice and neat. With, my favorite color and tthe team's color, green walls.
Btw, Mahogany Sunset, Ill add your name to the list and you will then be an official mamber of the team. I hope your grandfather makes a full recovery. I pray his fate it better than my father's.
if we're marching i want in ^_^ Yay! A meeting place AND more people!! Are there any days people are more likely to be on?

Nerdy_Boy_4evah blonde lite Hmm I dont actually recruit.. I wouldnt know how. My members just sorta trail in, telling us about their experiences with loved ones, or themselves having leukemia. We only have a few active ones too, but luckily for us, at least 4 of em are poets, and one does visual art, so the thread is usually quite interesting ^^ Lucky~ The active members of this team are just good at organizing events. And Im good at advertizing. Especially with my irresistable charisthma. Yeah, it's definitely the charisma that drew me in. ;]

Aww, don't get too worked up about it. Even if we don't get the team spirity-thingy, I'm personally donating $10 to the lymphoma cause (I'm poor, too). And I'm going to be spreading the cause IRL as well (there'll be stuff regarding IRL stuff later, so stay tuned), so I'm doing my best. Try to inspire others to help, too. We'll make it okay.

If you have any cool events, record them or have people sign a welcome sheet. Do it in conjunction with TDM. That would get us a large boost on the Spirit Contest! BTW, if this thread gets a little quiet, join me and some friends on the main thread. The first one in the main forum.
