To confirm identity? Shun didn't question what that was all about but he figured it would be best to play along for now. Hopefully this didn't mean the Jury was trying to get a good look at who he was so it could hunt him down later.

When the black fog came and engulfed his zoid, he looked around, unable to see anything aside from the strange symbols rush around his screen. He wished he had a better idea of what was going on there. It was hard to tell if things were going nicely or poorly really.

If that wasn't enough, he began hearing faint screams from the outside. That and the temperature kept fluctuating.

"Mind filling me in on what the hell is going on?" he grumbled as he glared at the screens. It all made him rather nervous really.

It wasn't just him too. The presence of the other zoid made Bent-Tail rather uneasy. This other zoid felt incredibly powerful and would probably be able to crush them pretty easily if it so chose to.

The agonizing screams grew louder and louder and the temperature became more erratic. Blistering, freezing, blistering, freezing, never once did it come to a comfortable middle.

"Confirming alliance, it sees ZOID as Zutnic." Zutnic's voice whispered over the link.

Jury hissed than moved its head slightly to the side. As it moved the information stopped appearing on the screen than the screen vanished all together. Shun was once again left to the darkness, only this time his worst nightmares were left to run wild. Eerie noises, strange and dark things drifting about outside the canopy.

Another screech and the Jury swung its head at the Zaber's side. Luckily it was not with all the ZOID's force, but it was still enough swing to send the ZOID to its side should it hit.

Between the screams and the constant shifting of temperatures, Shun was very uncomfortable. Grimacing, he shifted in his seat while still gripping onto the controls. To make things worse, the screens cut out, leaving nothing but the fog drifting about.

His eyes darted back and forth, trying to find signs of anything. Every time he thought he saw something move, he'd look towards it only to find nothing. Over all it made him feel rather paranoid.

"Well that's all fine and dandy bu--AAHHG!"

Shun's words were cut off abruptly as his zoid was knocked over by a strong force. With all the darkness around, he really had no way of seeing it coming. Gritting his teeth, he brought Fang back up to his feet as soon as he could. The zoid remained semi-crouched, as if ready for anything else.

"Did it not work?" he hissed while trying to see where the other zoid had gone, while thankful the hit he took didn't freeze up the command line.

Jury hissed at the ZOID once it got back to its feet. Luckily, it did nothing more to the ZOID before turning around and walking away.

The fog slowly lifted from the area revealing the setting sun. As the story goes with any Jury encounter, there were no traces of the massive ZOID to be seen. The ground was seemingly untouched other than the Zaber's own prints. Jury's encounter seemed like nothing more than a nightmare. It seemed surreal.

Shun was now among the very few to have survived the Jury, and the only one to not have his memory completely altered. Aside Nick that is.

Everything that went on in the temple up until the Black fog was clear, all but Nick's appearance. In the memory she would appear as she did before the Judge incident, how she was when in the military. *[Blond hair], a scar-less face, and even two regular human arms and eyes. The slight alteration would no doubt cause some parts of the memory to become confusing. *(Pardon the messiness of the old old art)

After the point when Shun tried to free Nick from the wall everything would seem like a bad dream, nothing about it felt real.

Inside the temple there were no traces of the ZOID or strikers ever being there. It was as hollow as the entrance. The Statue had been smashed to where only its feet remained.

Zutnic lept back on the ZOID quickly before it had a chance to take off. The Jury's slight blow had knocked it clean off the Zaber's neck. It was still confused why the death father had not done away with the human. It knew he was there...

As the black fog lifted, Shun looked around to see nothing there. It was all very odd. He could have sworn something was there before but there were no signs of it anywhere. Had he been hallucinating? It was hard to be sure, seeing how his zoid had been knocked over by something.

The cadet took a moment to recall everything that happened that day, then turned towards the temple. He had to wonder if Nick was still there, or if she even was still alive. This was one of those few moments where he didn't hope someone was dead and done with. Perhaps she managed to get away after all. For a moment, the soldier thought of going to check, but considering all the chaos of the day, he decided not to press his luck.

The voice of the striker snapped him out of his thoughts.

"Yeah..." he said quietly, still a little confused and disoriented, "Are you alright up there?"

What appeared to be a red blade GunSniper could be seen bolting away in the distance. It was too far for even the Zaber to see the details, but it had the GS shape with long blades tucked to its side.

Zutnic shook his head than rest his chin on the ZOID.
"Mission good still than..."

He paused, unsure of what Shun meant by his question. He had never had anyone ask before. Of course he was the first of the strikers to break free of being a mindless drone.

"Zutnic good too." He dug his claws in deeper for a better grip. "Zutnic want to come with human still, messenger told Zutnic to watch human, Zutnic still do that..."

Spotting movement in the distance, Shun looked to see a peculiar GunSniper running off. Nick had said Blaze had been destroyed but... there he seemed to be. He decided not to question it, but at least it seemed she managed to get away from the madness. Assuming that was her at least.

"I have a name you know," muttered Shun as he turned Fang so they could start moving back to the base, "Is that the other message you mentioned earlier?"

He vaguely recalled Zutnic saying there was something else to tell him, but had pushed it off for whenever things had calmed down. Shun also wasn't sure what the deal with the striker mentioning a mission, but perhaps this had something to do with that.

"But come along if you want, just don't cause any trouble," he added lowly.

Blaze had caught Nick's signal and followed it here, but he was a bit to late. The pilot-less ZOID noticed the imperial fang and turned to face it. The origional blaze was colored like a regular republic GS, save for the Imperial emblem on its right arm. Kagi had given him his new color during the change. Not to mention his larger size. These details were hard to tell from the distance he was at in any case.

Blaze reactivated his cloaking causing him to vanish completely from sight and radar.

"Human not tell Zutnic name... Zutnic only call human what Zutnic knows..." The striker huffed.

"But message, messenger say don't worry and thank you... Messenger say she not meet such a fine soldier till now... Messenger also tell Zutnic to tell human to be careful, do not mention death father or strikers to armys. Lead them to certain death is what it does." Zutnic paused as he tried to recall the message. The sudden jar had confused him slightly.

"Ah, Zutnic know there is more... be weary. Something is not right in 'air'..." He paused again. The rest of the message would not surface in his mechanical memory.

"Zutnic remember rest later..."

Shun didn't see the gunsniper vanish, but he did notice its blip disappearing from radar. He was focusing more on what Zutnic had to say, as well as getting back to the base.

"My name's Shun," he said a little flatly as he listened carefully to what the striker had to offer. He hadn't really been planning on including the strikers in his report anyway, considering the mess they had brought about just by finding them. Not mentioning the 'death father' was probably a good idea too, seeing how the whole thing involving that creature was surreal enough as is.

The first part of the message had thrown him off some. Even if she wasn't a part of the army any more, it probably could easily be said she was one of the best soldiers the Empire had. She might not have meant it, but still, hearing something like that from her was quite a compliment.

"I'll keep that in mind Zutnic. Just lay low for now... I'll find some place to hide you later on," he mumbled. With the adrenaline gone, the pain in his leg was a little more apparent, bringing on somewhat of a grimace onto his expression.

Now that all the chaos was over, Bent-Tail was feeling much more relaxed. He wasn't too sure how to feel about the striker tagging along for now, but he had to admit that he did help them out there.

"Ye not too bad Zutnic. I t'ink I underestimated ya."

"Shkun..." Zutnic clicked. "Zutnic remember and stay hidden. But stay close. Sometime..."

He couldn't promise to be there all the time. It had been a very long time since he had seen the world outside that temple, centuries in fact, curiosity happens.

It would also be the first time he was not receiving messages from the 'queen bee'.

-Zutnic would say so... but at same time... Zutnic under think strange strange strange organoid. Zutnic have to keep eye on strange organoid too... be it exciting.- He spoke to the organoid directly.

Blaze continued to watch the ZOID from his cloak. There was a familiar signature coming from it... though not strong. His target already was elsewhere, but it was very curious.

It seemed the little sharp mech had some difficulty with his name. Oh well; he wasn't going to try and drill it into his already dented skull. He wasn't really sure what to do with the little guy either, aside from supplying a hiding place. Shun just hoped he wouldn't be getting himself into trouble or go around biting organoids in the butt.

"Ye don't 'ave t'keep pointin' out 'ow strange I am, ya know," replied Bent-Tail, "By the way... 'ow come ye don't try to kill us anymore like de rest o'de strikers?"

Unawares that he was being watched, the soldier continued on towards the base. Granted there were no detours along the way, he'd likely arrive around sunset.

Blaze sent a signal to the familiar and waited for a response before turning back around and heading on his way. Zutnic paused and contemplated what was said by the other ZOID. He than hastily sent a signal back to the ZOID.

The Zabers controls would flicker as the messages were exchanged. A screen full of code would pop up to the side of Shun very briefly before vanishing again.

-Zutnic not know what to call strange... just strange. Like human is now know Shkun- He clicked. -Zutnic not all knowing like great mother...-

"Shun calls me Bent-Tail. Jus be glad 'e knows your name else 'e might be callin' ya Dent-'ead" snickered the organoid from the core.

Out of the corner of his eyes, Shun caught a quick flicker of some screen to the side. When he looked to see what it was, it was already gone though. Narrowing his eyes, he quickly checked the area around him, in case the 'death father' might still be around. Seeing nothing around him, he just picked up the pace, not wanting to risk dealing with any more weirdness for the day.

While they traveled, he thought of what he'd tell his superiors once he got back. He tried to think up of some story that might get rid of Nick's reputation as a traitor; to try and maybe say she died a hero more or less. It was only fair in his mind at least. But just about anything he came up with didn't seem plausible enough... at least probably not to the higher ups in the military.

And if it wasn't plausible enough to them, they'd likely try to look into what happened and everything may backfire on him. So, unable to come up with anything, he grudgingly went with the scenario Nick had told him earlier on.

-Shkun took eye, not crushed my head... So messenger would call me that in the case of not being aware of Zutnic identity...- Obviously he had a very different concept of naming.

Once the crew came into the view of the base Zutnic crawled under the back armor of the ZOID. It was a convenient spot to hide...

Shun would be greeted by several officers, his temple fiasco had taken longer than any of them had expected. Not to mention he had missed his check in.

Each one would be very eager to hear the story.

"Den it'd be One-Eye. Or somethin'..." rambled Bent-Tail before falling silent.

Shun was not exactly enthusiastic upon his arrival, but then again, he normally wasn't. He was tired from the day's events and he still needed to get his leg checked up, but first he had to brief his higher ups on what happened at the temple.

He went ahead with the original story of finding Nick and confronting her, with the story ending with her zoid falling off a cliff and exploding into nothing. He also presented the dagger to them, something that had been dropped near the start of the encounter. Throughout the briefing, he kept his usual relatively neutral-but-almost-glaring expression. The cadet didn't like this story so much, but it'd raise the least amount of questions and was more likely to be believed... after all they were all pretty quick to believe she was a traitor to start with. He supposed the least he could do in any case was get rid of this one worry for 'Captain Nick'.
