The whole employment scene is rough. The best thing is to work for yourself. Small business (or big, if your good enough) or just being a successful freelancer. My dream of dreams is to write for a living. Even more than being a vet. That's another reason why I'm going back to school for my BA in English Lit. Hopefully, with a little credibility behind my name, I can find a publisher willing to take my work. ^_^

I just moved to where the jobs are going to be. Instead of becoming a graphic artist I'm majoring in engineering. Green energy is where the money is being put now, and the field as a whole is desperate for more women engineers. Apparently they're looking a bit sexist right now, or something. *shrug*

And with the starting salaries some of these companies offer, they didn't need to convince me anymore.

The whole job issue is why I'm doing a vocational qualification at a polytech now, can't do jack with a BSc unless you want to go into teaching (urk), or research (cutting up bunnies? I don't think so).

We were learning about taking bloods, urine and faecal samples and one of the girls fainted xd

You know Scarlet that you could write something and then put it up on one of those self-publish places and people could order it through there and you get paid for each copy sold. They basically do printing-on-demand so there is never any extras sitting around and of course take so much of the price to cover their expenses, but it is a route to getting started if none of the regular players are biting.

Well hospitals don't bother me, but my wife sometimes gets the heeby-geebies when they look like the one on Halloween. Especially late at night when things are closed down and no one is around. But I don't sweat it really. Course with my easy-going nature it takes quite a bit to bother me.

Had to spend 2 hours at the After-Hours care last night and get my little man two stitches in his lip. He walked in front of a swing at daycare and got hit in the mouth. Poor guy, I hated having to hold him down while they jabbed a needle in his lip to numb the area. That's the worst part of taking kids to the doctors is that when they have to get shots and such you have to hold them down while they cry and scream and all.

If you can't find a job, perhaps you should volunteer for a bit..? It'll get you some experience and will look good on a resume.

I have lots of good job experience. The problem is that no one is hiring. The places that are hiring want an associates degree for jobs that used to only require a high school diploma.

Idk. I think that two school years being a teacher's assistant, two semesters in college of being an office assistant in the math, science, and engineering department of the college, and over 6 months of being a front desk clerk (after 6 months of cleaning bathrooms and then getting promoted) should more than qualify me to be a damn receptionist or an office assistant.

They're probably getting crap from the Equal Opportunity Employment people.

Become indoctrinated by WalMart, apply for the instock team (4 to 1 for best odds)...
Always room there for anyone, as long as you are 18 and have a GED or High School Diploma/ seeking one...

I already tried. I have to agree with Shandrel, there are no jobs. I've been looking for 6 months and, nothing.
