Oh hai dar'...
The twin strands of chaos seemed to consider rather nicely. The destructive force of the tailed beast's ball was loosed at almost the same time as the tidal wave crashed upon the shore. Both had considerable impacts. One was nothing short of the most fantastic light show you'd ever seen! A massive ball, obsidian in color, formed and exploded forth with a terrible maleficence. On shore, the tide rushed back for a moment before the massive wave crashed onto the shoreline.
But even amidst all this chaos and destruction... some beautiful happened. Even when viewed at a distance, a bright crimson light could be seen. Soon after the beast's blast loosed itself- the source was nothing shy of non existent. All that remained was a rather comically fat Shuniji. Smoke rose from every inch of his skin and the gem embedded in his chest was smoldering like it was under an intense heat...
....I almost didn't see you.

The drone provided by the wave grew closer and closer, however, as it neared Tatsuya grew a bit hopeful; he noticed that there were several chunks of ice being carried by the massive wave. Once he formulated an idea the boy drew out two of his ten swords and began sprinting towards the ice covered disaster, once he was ten meters from it Tatsuya hop, skipped, and jumped as high as he could, aiming for a chunk of ice ten feet from the ground/ice field. As he neared he jammed both swords into the ice and used them to continue his momentum, being sure to draw them out as soon as he knew he would be able to reach the next chunk. He repeated this a couple times until he was finally five feet over the wave.
At that moment he saw the glow, it captivated and drew his attention, it seemed beautiful, it somehow made him even warmer just looking at it. However, the warmth was temporary; Tatsuya quickly fell from the top of the wave down to a chunk of ice that was left behind by the tidal wave, and once he touched the semi-solid surface he kept going, hopping from ice chunk to ice chunk, following the amazing red light that shined in the sky. Where was Ren?

Shuniji floated up to the surface of the lake, hidden amongst the hissing steam that rose off his body. It complimented the ringing in his head and the pulsing in the crystal nicely.
Of course, Shuniji was concerned with none of this as the moment. For the first time in a very, very long while, he'd been stunned into silence.
'I'm...'
'I'm...'
"I'M FAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT!!!"
Before the steam could disperse fully, Shuniji dove underwater--a feat that now proved swift, graceful and eerily natural. In fact... he wasn't even cold anymore!
...Thanks in part to the grotesque blubber that layered his once lean body.
'I'm a ******** waaalruuuuuussssss,' Shuniji moaned in thought as he swam back over to where Seika had been standing.
He poked his head out of the water--just from his nose up as he was far too embarrassed to expose himself further. His eyes shifted to the side warily and his face was red. He blew a few bubbles before lifting his head just far enough out of the water to speak.
"You... wouldn't happen to have a spare face lying around.... would you?...'Cos... Um... It's more reliable than... than..."
Someone as vain as Shuniji should never be put into such a position...
"I'm just gonna do a transformation jutsu now..."
"TRANSFORM!"
There was an ENORMOUS cloud of chakra smoke that blasted from Shuniji's E-rank jutsu. It knocked the surrounding blocks of ice up from the water as Shuniji disappeared. Once he resurfaced, he appeared to be back to his normal self, though his shirt was missing and his pants looked like they'd been violently stretched... more-so than usual, at least.
Also, when he tried to clamber onto an ice floe, it was crushed under his weight immediately.
Shuniji resurfaced slowly. "Maybe I'll just swim back to shore..."
Perhaps if he'd been less consumed with his appearance, he'd have registered exactly what had transpired just now.
But it's not like anyone expected any different of Shuniji Fuku.

Seika had to shield her own eyes from the intensity of the crimson light. It probably would've blinded her if she had looked at it straight on. Holy crap was it over? She wasn't quite sure, but she was more concerned about Shuniji at the moment.
When everything settled down again, she glanced around looking for- ".....Oh, wow." Seika remarked as she laid eyes on the fatness that was Shuniji Fat- I mean Fuku. Her lips quirked as she watched him swim closer. It was painfully obvious that Seika was holding back a massive smile.
Seika only listened to a small portion of what he was saying, the rest of her was more interested in his appearance. She had a fox faced grin as she spoke to him. "Lookie here~! It's the Captain of the S.S. Fatass attempting to dock his ship." Seika giggled as she stared down at him with an amused grin, even clapping for the extra jab.
"Need help? If you can get up, I can probably roll you back to town while singing the Oompa loompa song." She added, squatting down on her slab of ice. There was no way in hell she'd be able to physically carry him, but she could probably think of something to get him out of the water at least...

It was either very funny or very sad how after all Shuniji had been through, it was this particular occurrence that caused him to blush and stutter.
He silently drifted back to shore and crawled back onto dry land where he stood up. He tried not to look at the monstrously deep footprints he was leaving in the sediment.
"J-Just hurry up or I'll leave you out here." He snapped.
Shuniji looked through the forest in the direction of town. All the snow and plenty of trees had been swept away by the earlier tidal wave. A wriggling fear at the back of his mind told him the port they arrived at was probably in bad shape. Then again, he wasn't sure exactly how far out he and Seika wandered in that blizzard, so there wasn't much use to having an anxiety attack.
He took a few steps forward only to sink up to his shins in mud. Yeah, that would probably be something worth worrying over right now.

Following the bright red light to the center of what was left of the ice field seemed like something out of the storybook, though that's what Tatsuya did. He had replaced both of his swords into his holder and hopped from ice chunk to ice chunk with relative ease until he reached a spot where there was nowhere to go; the chunks had been forced away in a circular fashion, almost in the way you would expect from the epicenter. This had been where it all went down, though he couldn't be sure until he of course noticed the vast assortment of planks near the dead center, the only remains of the cabin that once stood there. "I-I wonder where everyone went..." The boy was slightly confused, it looked more like a hit and run incident, they came, they had a conflict, and then they hightailed it out of here. Much like what Ichite-ru had suggested happened with Lu, could Cao have been attacked as well? It sure seemed like it, only a few things could have made a tidal wave the size of the one he had gotten over, and the information that lead them to believe the immortal guarding the three tailed beast being here made Tatsuya stop for even longer and review his notes.
He took out his notepad and flipped to the pages with the list of Immortals and the Hosts they represented. "Assumed still sealed" could mean that the demons were still sealed within the Immortals, heck it actually made sense. Ichite-ru and Buru were the only real confirmed Demon Hosts, and one of the Immortals in charge of them was already dead... That meant that it was still VERY possible that Lu still had the nine-tails within him. With the newfound recollection the boy jotted down some notes on the possibility beside both Cao and Lu's names, he would have to find a way to confirm these but that would require the sort of information another Immortal that was close to both would be able to provide...
With that the boy looked around for a moment, he had to think, if someone was trying to escape the area quickly which direction would they go? They hadn't gone south because that was the direction he had come from, that is unless they swam underwater, which sounded more like suicide than escape, going East would only take you deeper into the Snow Country, and that was the same story for north. So, the boy could only assume that the best possible direction was, West. So off he went, heading for the western coastline.

Normally Seika would be too concerned about freezing to death to even care about her partners feelings, but this was too fun...
A smirk began to curl at the corners of her lips as Shuniji spoke to her. "Ah, fine then~!" Seika purred with a smug tone in her voice. She was enjoying this way too much.
Seika followed Shuniji obediently, observing him as he walked sank into the mud and slush. Making another fat joke had crossed her mind, but she kept her comments reserved for now. There was a time and place for everything...
Not that that meant anything to Seika, she'd say what she wanted, when she pleased.
Her genuine curiosity compelled her to ask. "Will you make it?" Only this time, her voice didn't sound as smug. She'd like to know if there was some sort of problem with Shuniji, besides his current weight....

The ice chunks that led west stayed in a similar fashion that Tatsuya used to get to the epicenter, having just enough space between them for him to quickly jump between. It was somewhat refreshing to have the cold breeze rush past his face, it had been a while since he could be so carefree, what was it? A year or so wasn't it? It sounded right, either way, travelling around with two of the most depressing people he had ever encountered was beginning to take a tole on his outlook. Maybe he would have to suggest a separation to Ren, though Tatsuya doubted he would care, that guy hardly ever cared about anything... He was just so bland. Whatever, Tatsuya would be able to talk it over later with him, if anything Ren was good at listening, or at least faking it.
Outside of the boy's thoughts he could notice the devastation that the Tidal wave unleashed upon the landscape, it was like a tsunami hit everywhere from the wrong direction... Maybe though, it could be helpful in his trying to find whoever was a part of that fight, the boats off this place would be damaged or something... He could only hope as he neared the edge of the ice sea.

"I'm.... FINE..."
After numerous failed attempts to slog through the mud, Shuniji resorted to climbing atop the muck and standing on it as one normally would with water.
Shuniji bit his cheek in a suppressed grin of triumph and continued into the forest.
He only made it a few minutes before the silence began to gnaw at him. After all of that, just having plain silence was more uncomfortable than usual. Then again, it was kind of hard to really comment on whatever the hell just happened.
"So..." He began. Above all else, he wanted to take the focus off of his... predicament for the moment, at least until it wore off.
...It was going to wear off, right?!
"(cough) Um, Lord Otokage promised us a reward if we got home after this mission. What do you think it is..?" Shuniji posed his question with hesitance. The Otokage was a poor topic of choice when it came to relieving tension from a conversation.

An eyebrow quirked at the mention of the Otokage, it almost made her pause in her tracks. Twas then Seika realized that Shuniji was horrible at starting conversations, Not that she was any better at it. Stilll, really? The Otokage? It's not that she hated him or anything. (Amazingly)
It was just a topic she wanted to avoid, like the plague. He was like a nightmare. You couldn't forget him, and the feeling you got around him was always the same...
Seika didn't feel like answering at all, but she knew that Shuniji couldn't stay quiet for too long. It was something she learned from being around him for such a long period of time. "I'm not quite sure. The Otokage has sketchy rewards, not that I'm complaining." Seika replied with a deadpanned expression that only showed how wonderful the word "Reward" sounded to her.
"I'm more curious about your situation. If I recall...he said something about you being his...Host?" Seika commented with a sidelong glance. It was obvious she was trying to avoid answering. The Otokage made her feel uncomfortable, so she didn't like talking about him openly. But she would turn the conversation over to Shuniji. Seika didn't like it when people asked of her opinions, they always turn into something awkward or painful.
She learned not to voice them in the presence of her peers, even Shuniji...

TATSUYA MIYAKI Swear to shake it up, if you swear to listen. GPS : This snow is starting to be annoying...! Mood : Still cold, but I can handle it... Demon Count : 1/9
Slushing, that meant he was beginning to make the trans- He fell, in what felt like a horribly made pitfall, however as Tatsuya lifted his head it was nothing more than a dip as if someone had literally sunk into the mud due to weight, and with the snow that was still at the bottom squished underneath the weight meant it was somewhat fresh. "I-I guess I'm chasing a walrus or something..." Tatsuya muttered to himself as he picked himself up and continued sprinting, rushing into the forest and taking to the trees. The lizard on the boy's back felt as though it raised it's nose into the air under the boy's hood, "S-Seika..." Aoiro commented, recognizing half of the scent that was still fresh in the area. Was she really part of this? Tatsuya surely hoped not...

Status: Being a "diplomat" Location: Yup, this is definitely hell frozen over╚════════════════════════蓮 新潟═╝Ɍen gave a simple nod, pretending like he was listening. He caught something about Tatsuya's brother... something about the kid's past and Wind Release: Great Breakthrough. That part he paid attention to and indeed might look into. None of this could he honestly say he cared about. He was feigning interest simply for the hell of it. No. It was not the thought that counted, and it's doubtful that Ren would want it to count if it did. Why? Let's be serious here. He wasn't giving any thought to the simple action. It wouldn't count for much. A bead of sweat trailed down the side of Ren's face as he spotted the giant. ********. Water wall. And of course it was headed right at them! s**t!s**t!s**t!s**t!s**t!s**t!s**t! was the only word that repeated over and over in Ren's mind. Naps. He was sure as hell glad for them! If he hadn't taken one, he wouldn't have enough for this. ...Ren looked at the wall of water, then glanced back at the small merchant settlement. He sighed with aggravation. "I'm gonna 'ave ta do tha right thing 'ere, ar'n I?" Of course he was. Quickly making the handseals, Ren focused his earth-element chakra. He had to hurry with this. Doton: Doryūheki! The chakra inside his body was turned into earth. He made as much as he could, spitting it out in a line several feet in front of him. A massive wall shot up from the ground at a slant () with the foremost point being around the start of the area the town occupied and the end aimed in the general direction of the shore. More importantly, away from the town. But one sure as s**t wasn't enough. He made another wall that connected with the first at the same angle, to make the whole thing wider. He leapt up to the top, again making the handseals for Doryūheki, he spat another round of mud onto the top of his first wall. Then he did the same to the second. Only, on the second, he jumped on top of it as it rose up. When the walls were stacked two on top of each other, they made it... a good way to the same height as the wave. Not quite as tall but it'd have to do. He went to the end of the wall and used Doryūheki again, spitting the earth on the snow below. Once that wall was made, he made another on top of it so it was about the same height as the other two parts. This was worse than learning Windcutter, but he didn't stop. As quickly as he could he tried to make three more side by side on the tops of the other walls to make it a three-by-three earth-wall, but he only made it to two. Eight times. Eight times he'd used that jutsu, and it had exhausted him. The wall was wide enough to protect the town, though not quite as tall as the wave. Whatever, it'd have to do. Besides, he didn't think he had any- "s**t!" Ren leapt back quickly as the wave crashed against the wall. A good deal of water swooped right over the wall and some splashed up and over it, but it wouldn’t be enough to do damage to the town. At worst, there could be some minor flooding in the streets. Though it didn't look like that'd be the case. Landing before the water did, Ren pressed himself against the wall, hoping he wouldn't get entrirely drenched. He wasn't directly hit by the water, but the splash as it hit the snow got him pretty wet. The rest of the wave seemed content with flowing in the direction the wall took it. The wave looked like it had started from one point and gone out in a circle, but the rest of it went wide of the small merchant settlement. Woop-dee-doo, a town of little significance had been saved by a boy who didn't give two shits about their lives. Ren was panting heavily as he collapsed to his knees. What had he been thinking? Now he was drop-dead-tired, wet and freezing cold! Neko-chan wasn't too pleased either. Vaguely, he wondered if Tatsuya had cleared the wall, but he was too busy cursing at himself. He could barely feel anything, but he'd probably die faster if he stayed put. He struggled back to his feet and slowly made his way around the wall. Tatsuya in the distance and moving away from him. Ren didn't think he was actually capable of moving at all, but his feet apparently did. Instinctively they moved towards his partner, not really caring that he was so far behind. Too tired to and hey, why should he wait for Ren? In this state, even Ren only saw himself as a hinderance. Neko-chan had been hissing at him like crazy and crawling around his jacket looking for a warmer place. Her claws would have hurt, but the cold numbed everything. Suddenly, Neko-chan's head popped out from the front of his jacket, the only side that hadnt gotten wet and she started meowing feverishly. Even for her, that was peculiar. She was squirming, as if telling him to get moving. He had no energy to argue and he was moving that way anyway. Though, he didnt bother trying to move any faster than he was. He was fairly certian he'd kill himself if he did. A vague thought entered his mind. With Neko-chan acting this way, maybe it meant there was something she wanted out here. Was that something Seika? Ren dismissed the thought. What were the chances of that? ((Sorry this took so long and came out half-assed. 40page writing assignments have a tendancy to take up a lot of time! ^^; ))why should I care?

Shuniji pulled his sopping wet hair off his neck and wrung it out as he walked and listened idly to Seika speak. He winced a little at the memories she brought up.
"...Right... Sometimes it's kinda hard to tell the rewards from the punishments..." he thought back to his 'reward' for not leaking information to Wairudokaado that first time. He got to eat the spy!
Shuniji looked ill.
"...I guess the rewards... hurt less.... physically...."
The conversation, which had been doomed from the start, died awkwardly.
They walked a while more before Seika brought up the other detail mentioned by the Otokage earlier.
"Mm? Oh, I didn't know you heard that," Shuniji brightened up a little and smirked in self-satisfaction, "Yeah, he said something to that effect, didn't he?"
He sounded an odd combination of content and sedate, neither of which were complimentary of his usual personality. Based on past experiences with the man, he should have been either deliriously happy, or furious. In truth, not even Shuniji himself knew what he was thinking. It was... quite the concept to digest.
Ugh... the thought of digesting anything dredged up more thoughts of cannibalism and his current weight problem. Shuniji sighed in defeat and let his head hang.
At least the mass deforestation had made it a straight-shot to the port. It probably wouldn't be much longer now...

Seika almost rolled her eyes at his response. 'Pfft, everybody heard it!' She was surprised nobody started trying to look up his name and make a target out of him. Of course that wouldn't happen because it was her job to make sure that Shuniji was safe and happy.
What?!
Okay...she understood what it was to guard somebody, but it had nothing to do with him being happy. Unless...he was unstable when he was upset or sad, and with that stupid cristal lodged in his chest, she knew nothing about it. So it may or may not be triggered by emotions? 'UGH! SHUNIJI IS SO ANNOYING! GET OUT OUT MY HEAD!' The expression on Seika's face made it seem like she was ready to bang her head, repeatedly against the nearest Tree. "Hurry up, Flubber! I'm ******** cold!" Seika snapped and tried to swat at Shuniji's head.
It was obvious she was bothered by a few of her own thoughts. So she tried to take it out on the source.

TATSUYA MIYAKI Swear to shake it up, if you swear to listen. GPS : This place has trees? Mood : Still cold, but I can handle it... Demon Count : 1/9
As Tatsuya hopped from branch to branch in the forest he be began thinking, what would he do if Seika was involved? Would he be able to stop her or would his friendship get in the way? Would he do what needed to be done or what he assumed needed to be done? He felt as though it was going to be a rather difficult decision. The more he thought about it the more and more he came to the realization that Seika was his last friend... He had drove away Tsukiko when he defended Seika and he was pretty sure that Ichi didn't want anything to do with him, now, the boy hadn't come into contact with people outside his brother, his brother's girlfriend, his father, and the two people that took the mission with him... He hoped he would be able to do the right thing, or at least something that seemed like the right thing... Still, he kept his eyes peeled, noticing the footprints in the snow as he zipped by, still though there was no one in sight.
