Well it'd be awesome if you were both but if I had to chose, I'd say weapon because you can still use other weapons and you can easily fight by yourself.

i would like to be a meister.....but then again, i think it would be best for me if i were the weapon......meisters make the decisions and do all the fighting and i'm not good at that....but then again, i hate being ordered around...........hmm............tough question...........
