mysticallity01010 i accualy think clouds sword was bigger only because it was as big as him. and the coolest depends if you are talkin about the regular one or can you do clouds other wepons as well? if you think about it sepheroth alwas kept it down and it was about 3/4 his size and clouds when he put it behind his back was as big as him

Sephiroth's is longer and thinner
Cloud's on teh hand is thicker than longer I think...

I am not Nicholai nor did I bother to read all eight pages to find out where you are in this discussion. I am his older brother Kerrillian and found this thread funny. Sephiroth's sword is based of a number of swords, namely the osafune, diakatana, masamune, as well as other smaller influences. Because if the time periods in which these swords were developed they were ment to be used for horseback fighting, not hand to hand melee. For this reason the swords had to be very long ( 6-10 feet) and had to have the over accentuated curve. Cloud's Buster Sword on the other hand was based of the shorter version of the broadsword, not the ones the Germanic Berzerkers and Scottish used. Therefore it would not be longer than 5 feet. Also, if you notice, Cloud is not even 6 feet tall and his sword (when fully structured) barely came to his shoulder. Some would argue that the over exaggerated handle constitutes as the sword, but then again they are intitled to their opinion.
As I final note I would just like to point out that no one in this guild seems to really know much about Final Fantasy 7, every thread I visit is filled with n00bs who don't know anything beyond the fact that they think some character looks cool because their friend showed them a picture or something and they join the guild pretending to harbor some knowledge about the game... Actually the masamune was a cursed nodachi, a katana used for crowd control.
