He looked over at John "huh? oh no.. not you, him." He smiled slightly. "Oh...thanks for saving us back there.....what happened anyway?"

Zed, gun in hand, edged around Koko and into the cockpit where he stopped and glanced down at the control panel, reading that the fuel tanks were now full. He pressed the fuel pipe retracting button then looked back at the intruder.
"Oh really now? more interesting things? ...Look, even if you did take this ship, you'd never get it to work..."
The Aiolos made another loud humming noise and juddered in mid-air.

John sat down next to Neo, unslinging his M-200 off his back to clean the copious amount of sand from inside the breach.
"As you know, raiders attacked. They used a stolen building mech to breach a wall in the defenses. They poured in that way, also from another direction." John pointed to the outer walls, in the direction of the Dead Lands. "They came from that way too. They broke in and did what they did best. Stealing, kill, maim, rape, just general carnage."

"Hmmm, looks like you can't get it to work either...."
She muttered to herself. Koko made her way back towards the pilot, looking confident. She wasn't the least bit afraid of him, or the fact that the ship might crash, in fact she seemed more interested in adjusting her weapon. Slowly, she approached the control panel, looking with barely hidden interest at the different controls, dials & readings her eyes glittering slightly. As she leant forward, the blade on her gun glinted in the light, an ominous reminder that she was still armed.

Neo turned his head to where John had sat down beside him, "I wonder why they do these things, wouldn't it be easyer for them to live here intead of where ever it is they live?" He didn't know much about what was going on with the raiders because he hadn't been out of cryostatis for very long.

"I do know how to fix it, it's just that I'm not going to until you put the gun away."
Zed sighed as the ship fell a couple of meters, again making a loud humming noise that could be heared from the city below.
"It's a great ship. I'd love to use it more often, but whenever I do someone tries to take it from me... Sure, they could float it around a few meters above the desert, maybe do a loop at a push, but I can surf the ripples of supernova, navigate nebulae, slingshot around stars, all without even losing any paint..."

John looked at Neo. "They did live here. They chose to leave and create a nomandic life and raid settlements, like this city. It's what they do." He sighed. "I haven't been out of cryostatis long myself, so I'm still learning too." John oiled the breach of his weapon slowly, taking care of it.

Koko looked at the man for a little while, as though debating whether or not he was telling the truth. After a little while she sighed & put her hand on her hip, standing up straight.
"Tell ya what. You take me for a ride in this baby & I make some upgrades to it. I noticed a few parts that look like they need some maintenance. You probably don't get much time when you're on your own huh? That way, I won't feel the urge to nick it & you can show off some skills - if you are telling the truth of course."
She smirked,
"Oh & I won't hurt ya either, unless you target me! Now you should probably get this thing outta here."
With that she holstered her gun & leant against the wall, a small grin on her face.

Zed looked up in desbeleif.
"Really? So you're not going to-"
The ship started freefalling above the city. Zed watched the ground come closer before pressing a single button, stopping the ship meters above the church the others were in.
"Okay, I'll take you out for a spin, but I need that damn vent you broke fixed before we go anywhere..."

Koko looked up slightly, then put one hand behind her head & stuck her tongue out a bit.
"Oh yeah.... that..... errr..... be right back!"
With that she took off, a whoosh of air flaring up as she left; she was so fast it was as though she could teleport. Then, within about two minutes she was back again, a soldering weld in hand and a big grin on her face.
"Done!"

Zed turned surprized again.
"What? Oh! right! Well done... uuh... well, now we've gotta check if everything's spaceworthy..."
He typed something into the main HUD computer and a 3D image of the ship appeared.
"The blue highlighted bits are working perfectly, the green bits are working well, but a bit of maintainance may be needed, like manually cleaning the sand out of the engines, but they clean themselves when we turn the engines on. The yellow are in need of repairs, orange bits are in urgent need of repairs, and the Red bits are breached or missing.
Looks like everything is blue or green right now... the most damage you can have and still be spaceworthy is all over orange, BUT you'd break up on re-entry... Got that?"

Nodding her head in response, Koko came up to the control panel to look at the screen's image. She frowned slightly as she thought about the technology present on this vessel.
No way is this stuff from this planet.... it's way too advanced. Who the hell is this guy & how'd he get this thing...?
She glanced at the man next to her & tilted her head
"Hey that's a point, I don't even know your name. Mine's Koko if ya wanted to know."

He smiled whilst still watching the screen.
"Looks like we're spaceworthy... you might want to take a seat whilst i do some final checks."
Zed got back to tapping away at the HUD keyboard.

The young mercenary looked around for a second before slumping into a seat near the controls. She found that the chair could swivel so began turning on it. Her eyes strayed to a secondary set of controls near to her, noting that it was highlighting certain points on the ship.
"Hmmm?"
Taking a closer look, she realised that she was looking at weaponry throughout the vessel. Her eyes sparkled & she touched the screen lightly making a new set of options appear. She looked over at Zed, noting that he was busy before messing with the different contols to see what the ship might have to defend itself with. She began talking to herself.
"Seems like the mounted turrets could do with some maintenance.... the top one is working but the others seem a bit tempermental.... hmmm, I could probably install some new hydralic systems so that they can be drawn into & out of the main hull, that'll cut the chances of damage while the ship is flying..."
