 Rose quickly took his hand and helped herself up. She knew her face was red with embarrassment and felt stupid for not paying enough attention to where she was going. She readjusted her dress and took her bag from one of the friendly shop keepers who had come to see what was going on. "I am fine. I am rather sorry for tripping over your foot."She bowed to the man, out of habit. She noticed the strange weapon he had around his neck and was a bit unsure of why he was holding it. He wouldn't attack her, would he? Once again she felt defencless. Her sword was at her side, but the bag in her hands would hinder and counter strike or defence against the man. So she decided to voice the question everyone else seemed to be thinking. "If you don't mind my asking...Who are you? Your obviously not from around here."

"The pleasure is mine."However, his eyebrows perked up at the question. Swiftly glancing around the circle of people whom had gathered, Meru could see that they were all voicing the same question. Was I really raising that much suspicion? It seemed so. Then, he realized he still had his left hand around his nunchuks. That must be why they are at unease, he thought, returning his hands to his sides. Nervously, he returned his gaze to the young...girl? Meru hadn't noticed it before, but now when he took closer inspection, he could tell that the lady was young;quite young. Banishing this thought for the moment, Meru returned to the situation at hand.
"Rather direct aren't you?" Meru started out slowly. "Whatever. I have nothing to hide." Taking a closer step towards the...girl, Meru touched his right hand lightly upon his opposite chest. "My name is Meru. Takku if you must also know my surname. I come from outside the isle." Rose stood straight at the man's inspection of her. She had gotten used to it. It was rather odd for a servent to dress as nicely as she, but she was with high favor to the King. She also looked him over. Besides the odd weapons, he didn't seem all that odd to her. But she was still ever cautious. "Direct as need be..." Was her reply to the man. She knew it was odd for young ladies to be direct, but if she wanted information then she had to step out of the traditional role sometimes. She snickered at his comment. "I could tell that. You look different." Ok so maybe that wasn't how she should have responded, but she couldn't help it. She grinned at the man before deciding that he might as well know who she is. "People around here in town consider me as the Black Rose. So just Rose is fine. I live on the Isle, just outside of town." Which was all true. The castle was just outside of town, but there was also many other 'outside of town' places too. He didn't have to know she worked for the King.

Althea didn't remove her smile. "Who says it wouldn't be right to stay here? I certainly don't mind. And your beautiful playing is more than enough thanks." She didn't mind having the boy around. And she certainly couldn't send him out on his own - that would be ridiculous! But, either way, she did like his playing. In her mind, there was no such thing as permenant. No such thing as forever. That kind of thinking could drive a person in such a low position crazy. To her, there was no past and no future; only the present. Today, the boy was there. Today, she got to listen to his music. Today, she had to get some food for both of them. Today, she almost had enough money to buy it. Today, the person she bought it from let her take what she needed anyway. Today, the woman a few houses down was ill and wanted her to pay a visit. Today. And the only thing certain about tomorrow was that it would become another "today".

And the fact that she hadn't used that sword at her side was proof of that. ...Wait... a sword. Meru now noted the sword which was sheathed on the lady's right hip. That was odd, for two things. One, she was a young girl, and usually those did not went around carrying arms. I never knew that Galdrar was training child soldiers. Of course, that was just Meru's humor, he highly doubted that was the case. He kept his mouth shut on that topic. Second, the sword was on her right hip, which can lead to a few things: 1. She uses an unknown style of swordplay, 2. She didn't know how to use the sword, or 3. She was left-handed. None of my business! Meru reminded himself. However, there was one thing he couldn't help but ask.
"The Black Rose...?" Meru was intrigued with this introduction. He couldn't help his curiosity. "A flower known for being quite beautiful in bloom" Meru looked directly Roses eyes, "But also for its thorns." A slight pause. "How might a pleasant lady like you earn the name of such a flower?"╚═══════════════════════════════════════════════════╝#Sign Off#

Rose was pleased that he wanted to know more. Only because she loved to tell her story. It wasn't often that people asked her about herself. She only recently started seeing people other then those that live on the island. And most of the people in town knew about it anyway. "Well Considering your not from the Island, I suppose I could tell you. You would know all about the war going on considering you have a weapon...I suppose you would be from one of the opposing sides. But I suppose also that it's none of my business." She couldn't help but mention these things out loud. She had always been observent, a thing she learned from her grandfather. And out spoken just like her father, or so she had been told many times over. "My tale begins right here in this very town. The King does his best, but even he cannot stop all the corruption that goes on around the town. People mean enough to harm children, women, men, anyone who would get in their way. They are no more you see..." She paused, knowing she needed not to rant on and on about this. She softened her voice. "They say the war is coming here...In my opinion some of it is already here." She looked out towards the shops and the busyness around them. "I want to be ready when everything gets here. Everyone thinks that they need to protect young girls like myself. My father was foolishly one of them. So I decided to fend for myself. Galdar is not unprotected. I will do what I can... what I haven't already done. I will take down those who pose a threat to the peace of our land." She looked up at the man again. She had taken down the gang that had killed her father, one little pawn at a time. That is how she earned her name. But she wasn't one to brag about that.

This girl was...refreshing, to say the least. She was entirely different from the young girls back in Dragalia. Her eyes were quite...unerring. Meru couldn't help but shudder slightly as he looked into them. It was as if instead of standing in the park having idle chatter, they were instead seated at a chess table, each inspecting the other for flaws, giveaways and information. Meru could see himself reflected in her deep violet eyes, and he had no doubt that she could see herself in his reflective pale blue ones. She's a smart one, that's to be sure.
"War? Here?" Meru acted surprised, though it wasn't all completely fake. Meru looked around them. The crowd has mostly dispersed by now, perhaps growing bored with the encounter, seeing as the two seemed to be getting along. If only they knew the tension I am in here. However, it seemed this was the last place war would hit. Further, Dragalia and Cerebria is currently at a stalemate, it was highly doubtful they would drag Galdrar into the conflict. Looking back at Rose, Meru decided to question further. "Why would you say that? The Isle looks quite at peace." Noise smiled "really? well.. then I guess..," Noise' voice trailed off, she paused, "I guess I should tell you my secret, yes?" She stood up and considered how she was going to tell Althea, "okay... errm..you may not have noticed, I'm not a boy."

Althea's smile faded and she blinked in surprise. "Wait, what...?"She didn't quite comprehend what "he" was saying. "You're telling me you're... a girl...?" She was hesitant. She wouldn't think any less of her, of course, if that was the case. But the revelation did call for some surprise.

Noise actually giggled, she couldn't help it, "yes, Artemis is a girl's name and all, everyone just assumes I'm male," she smiled properly for the first time in a week. "What with the baggy clothes and messy hair, no point in correcting anyone... but then theirs the whole marriage thing."

Rose shook her head at the man. While she knew about the stalemate, she also knew that the princess of Dragalia was missing and at around the same time the girl she was supposed to be protecting had washed up on the shores of Galdrar. She leaned in closer to the man before whispering her answer. "I hear things. It wouldn't do for me to tell you what I hear, but just know that I hear them." She did not know which side he came from, and she wasn't stupid enough to tell the man about the girl who washed up on the shores. "Furthermore, things aren't always as they appear. There are people in Galdrar who want war. Very few, but they are still around. There may even be spies amoung our mists...or so I've heard." She was getting fidgety and switched the weight from one foot to the other. She also kind of wanted to get back to the castle. She wanted to see if the arena had cleared yet so that she could go pratice with her sword.

Galdrar is positioned just a short distance from Cerebria and Dragalia. It would be foolish to assume that war hadn't affected it, at least somewhat. "You sure have heard alot," Meru remarked as he smiled lightly at the girl. Meru then noticed that the girl was beginning to get uneasy, perhaps impatient. She must had been in a hurry...Meru gazed out over the ocean, which was barely visible now. The sun had almost set. It seemed they had been conversing for quite a while. "It looks like I had taken quite a bit of your time, Miss Rose." Meru returned his eyes to the girl. "If it causes no trouble, I would escort you to your destination, as a way of apology. Would you mind?" Meru took a few steps back, motioning the lady to lead. After all, it wasn't as if he had anything to do anyway. ╚═══════════════════════════════════════════════════╝#Sign Off#
