Again, Fallon heard her name at the other table, this time from Pierrette. The tables were close enough for her to hear the general murmur, and Fallon was selfish enough to pick up on her name if uttered within a six foot radius. She tried to keep one ear tuned in that direction, but gave up after a few moments.
"I can understand that -- the oil and water," she said, dipping another cube of bread and twirling it on the skewer until the cheese formed a neat ring. If Calintha was living in an apartment, it sounded like there was a bit more tension between her and her mom than between Fallon and her mother, especially since Fallon's mother had the excuse of living in France. It was an issue she did not intend to press. "Where is your apartment?" she asked, popping the cheesy bread into her mouth and chewing.

"Oh that's neat, what instrument do you play?" -If she hadn't taken up dance classes when younger, Aurora probably would have attempted an instrument of some sort. It was a ladylike thing to do.. Perhaps something dainty like a flute. Or maybe a harp.. or piano? All that sitting though.. sitting and practicing for hours. Atleast dancing allowed you to stretch and move. Perhaps it was the better choice for her.. miss fidgety. Speaking of which, one heeled foot was beginning to swirl softly around beneath the table.-
"I have a dance aerobics class, home ec, sociology, and the boring old math, history, etccc."
"What about you Azzo? What classes do they offer in..." -Ohh.. she didn't know where he went.. she wouldn't guess Hillsworth though. But then.. Marlo was in Hillsworth?- "Meadowview?" -She hazarded lightly.-

The meal was progressing quickly. At 9:15 promptly, the remaining uneaten cheeses were taken away and a selection of cooking possibilities were set out. There was a rich bouillon, a pot of oil accompanied with cooking batter to wrap the food in and several dips (individual for those uncomfortable with the idea of sharing their dips with others), and a small grilling surface. Food options for supper included a varying selection of meats, seafood, and vegetable options for everyone.
As the party ended at 11:00 P.M. the food would be set out for an hour for people who decided to partake. At 10:15 the cooking styles would be replaced with chocolate to finish off the evening.

Jada was making her rounds of the party before she moved to her table. All in all, so far, not a bad turnout. Nowhere near the large number she was expecting, only about half of the tickets having been turned in. Some people had only stopped in for a bit, realized they didn't know anyone and left, some people had holed themselves in the corners near the food.
The majority of people, however, were being social. That made her smile, finally moving over to her table. Fallon had brought some company! Wonderful. She moved into one of the remaining chairs at the table, giving a nod to everyone there. The only one she recognized was Fallon, so she would be relying on her for introductions.
"Is everyone enjoying their evening so far?"

"Call me Imo if you'd like. You and Grayson were both in Rabies house I think? My dear Aggie was as well." Imo chatted away, while quickly tucking the flower Elke gave her - after a quick thankyou - into the eye of one of the larger beads on her dress strap almost like it was a buttonhole carnation. It'd stay there alright, the white bright against the brown material.
"Cholestrol aside, it smells good anyway. I've never had it before." She replied, before following Elke's example and careful dipping in some bread herself. Imo was obviously in good spirits and she was very glad she'd come despite her initial pause. Her entire day had been centered around friendships and not feeling down and tonight was just continuing on the theme. Good food, new experiances and pleasant company. So what is she was single, hm?
"You're in demand it seems Grayson, I'm glad I got the first dance."
As dinner progressed and Imo took care to choose things she'd never tried before as usual.

Azzo would have almost ogled at the food which'd been placed in front of them. If he hadn't been with two very lovely ladies that is. He easily picked a few bits of almost everything offered, he didn't really want to pass up trying any of the readily available food.
When he heard Mel finish talking and then Aurora address him. He looked sheepishly for a second with a wary chuckle. "Yes... Meadowview. With the very unflattering shorts for a uniform..." He muttered for a second resting his chin on one of his hands before removing his elbow from the table to be more 'proper' after all if Grams had been there she would've hit him with something if she'd seen his elbow on the table.
Then he realized what he'd been asked. "Oh.... uh not too sure what all they offer. I just made them sign me up for what I needed to graduate by the end of the year." He said quickly. "Which includes a science class I may very well be failing." He wrinkled his nose at the thought and took a piece of the shrimp and popped it into his mouth.
"I noticed you knew Marlo." He added in after having swallowed the bit of seafood.

It wasn't his fault his was late, honestly!
He had been planning to go, but then disaster of disasters had struck and his mother had had to stay late at work. That meant there was nobody home to watch the hoard of rambunctious kittens – besides Minnie, but she didn't count – and the redhead wasn't about to leave them home alone. That was just asking for them to get into all kinds of trouble, and he would never forgive himself if something bad happened to them. By the time his mother had come home, showered, and shooed him out the door the party was well underway.
But it was better to be fashionably late than not show up at all, right? Right.
Driving there hadn't been a problem (it was hard to forget a place by the name of the Fondue Haus) and parking was relatively simple. It looked like Jada had thought of everything. Smart girl. The redhead shot his reflection in the rearview mirror one last look, checked to make sure he still had his invitation and then headed towards the front door. It looked like he'd arrived in the middle of dinner, which suited him just fine. Mingling and food were always an excellent combination.
Barnaby slid his phone from his pocket to check the time and was hit by a sudden idea. If Dani had known about this little gathering, then there was a pretty good chance she'd brought Grayson along too. Grinning, the redhead flipped open his phone and sent, 'singles awareness party. u there?' to his black haired friend. With any luck he'd know at least two people at this function.

After having time to survey the room, Howl finished off the last sips of his Shirley Temple and slid the glass back to the bartender. He had managed to spy a rather familiar cinnamon-red haired girl, as well as noting the hostess of this event had made her way to the table. Solely because the hostess had mentioned the desire to dance earlier, he figured he would only be polite and offer her such, should she still want it.
Carefully, he made his way towards the table group, making certain to slip by the other tables without disturbing the other guests. He did not sit down when he approached, but rather walked to Fallon's side of the table and gently greeted her.
"Miss Fallon, it is wonderful to see you again," he uttered fondly, tilting his head slightly in greeting.
He had managed to catch the hostess' question, and as politely as he could (which in all honesty, was probably too polite), he replied "The evening has been rather lovely, Miss. You have done a wonderful job organizing everything." Much like how he had done with Fallon, he tilted his head to nod towards the dark-haired young lady. He had been tempted to drift over to the young hostess, but since he had approached Fallon first, he knew it would only be polite to remain until told otherwise.

Distracted by the changing of food (was the time going by that quickly?) Melody almost missed the question asked of her by Aurora. In fact she had to pause and think about what had been asked of her with a look of embarrassment on her face. The only explanation could have been that she had zoned out, and if brought up she would say as such though no suitable reason could be given as to why.
When Azzo finished speaking she decided to take her turn, a pleasant smile replacing her look of embarrassment. "I play the cello, actually. It's always been one of my favourite instruments. Though I must admit that I am curious about your dance aerobics class. What's it like?"

-She watched with soft interest as the appetizers disappeared and were subsequently replaced with heartier fare. It all looked delicious, and she noted each ingredient softly, trying to decide which she wanted to eat together. She glanced up softly as people talked, nodding politely.-
"Ohhh.. really it's just a quick and fancy way of saying a physical education class in the form of mixed dance class styles. Just an hour of whatever dance style the teacher wants for the day. Ballet, ballroom, jazz, etc."
"I think there are probably introductionary versions of the class, if you wanted to try? The one I'm in doesn't leave much time to learn the steps if you don't already know them."
-Avoiding most of the seafood, she tried meat after meat, pausing when her mouth was empty to answer Azzo.- "I met him right after I moved here actually. Him and his brother were making quite the scene in front of the mall. He seems nice"

Azzo nodded, "Nice indeed. I ran into him at the gym."
He paused for a second looking slightly interested, "Huh he has a brother?" Being an only child, Azzo hadn't had much of a dealings with brothers or sisters or anything of the sort.
He nibbled on a few random things mentally noting what he thoroughly enjoyed. Watching Aurora and Melody talk. The dance classes did sound interesting.

Calintha smiled when their host sat down at the table with them. She had never met the other girl before, but if she threw something like this she definitely had some talent. The new food that had come looked amazing, and it took all of her restraint not to go crazy with it. Picking up her skewer she dipped a piece of chicken in batter and then into the cooking oil, satisfied to hear the sizzle. While it was cooking, she looked back up at Fallon and Jada. "My apartment is just a few blocks from here- only a block or two from Meadowview as well." Turning her attention to the host, she smiled. "Its been fantastic so far- you are quite the host."
Calintha didn't recognize the newcomer who came over to stand by Fallon. She'd never seen him around that she could remember. She did feel kind of snubbed though, since he addressed ever single girl at the table except for her. Diverting her attention, she scooped the chicken out of the oil on onto her plate to cool.

"Oh, it sounds like fun regardless~"
Taking a bite of some of her own food she'd acquired, while Azzo and Aurora were chatting, she found that it was quite delicious. Melody was going to have to thank the hostess big time for such a delightful party. Even if she didn't make a lot of friends out of this. Meeting Aurora was a start!
"I'll have to look into it for the next semester. If there is one, and I can get in... Would I be able to ask you for help?"

Fallon glanced up to smile at Jada, fork skewering a plump shrimp. She didn't have the time to answer. A familiar teal-haired boy swept up beside her. "Howl," she said, mouth curving up into a smile. "It's nice to see you. I noticed you earlier, but we were on opposite sides of the room. It's hard to miss your hair." Compared to hers, Howl's hair shone like a spotlight for all to see.
"Will you sit with us then?" she asked, selecting a small onion. It appeared that the girl was contemplating something, though it wasn't clear what. Her little pot of oil bubbled quietly before her. Manners took over, and Fallon gestured to the blond-girl at the table. "Do you know my friend, Calintha?" She wouldn't introduce them if they were already familiar, but it was worth a mention. If Calintha lived so close, it was feasible that Fallon might visit her. She didn't say so now, but she made a note to discuss it with the girl later.
Her eyes continued to stray back to her pot of oil. Fallon was certainly contemplating something, even if it wasn't clear.

It was fortunate that Damian gave the teenage girl a break indeed. Without the pressure of gratuitous compliments, she calmed down and came back to her normal, relaxed self.
Alessa barely noticed his touch at all, distracted by all the activity going on around. The place was now hosting quite a crowd, leaving her to wonder when it all happened.
Well, given it happened when she was busy being a blushing schoolgirl…
“Yeah, I’m getting hungry! But it’s fondue tonight, right?” she asked with the faintest worry, cancelled by the confidence the boy could help her. “I’ve never tried that before, and I didn’t do any research before coming. Is there something special to it?” she admitted with a voice barely above a whisper; it would be best that neither Jada nor any regular got to hear her and look down on her lack of gastronomic experience.
When confronted to the actual meal, she’d try and do her best to look like she knew what she was doing, really!
