@Rikkai: I had never even considered looking for character sorters online. XD I always just had my own method of sorting them myself. Yeah, why would they exclude female characters? D: Oh, but that list is very, very useful. Saves me some work. *proceeds to steal for when she uses the sorter* Thank you very much!
Oh wow, I was right on then. XD I was much like JK, where my favorite character was Dexter, but I still loved Mandark, and wasn't so fond of Deedee. I'm glad you feel better though. XD
Wow, 99 episodes exactly... how special!

@JK: Same here; almost never favor the main character most, though I almost always favor one of the secondary mains.
Aww, I really like short-hair dogs. I don't particularly have a preference for one length over the other though; really depends on the breed. I do love hounds and pitbulls though for short-hair, and corgis and shiba inu for long hair. <3
Ants hardly ever get into the house here, bees definitely more often. Though we also get lots of the annoying flying bugs. XP I like spiders though, s'long as they're not dangerous kinds. And bees definitely get in the house more often than the cars for me.
You're being ganged up on because you put both Morgey and me in your evil fic.

@Rikkai: OMG Princess Tutu fan?! *flails and froths in excitement* Princess Tutu is like my favorite short series besides maybe Yami no Matsuei! <3 I've been trying to get JK to watch it, you must convince her with me! Seriously, it's not a well-known enough anime! D: Rue is actually probably my least favorite of the four main characters, but I love them all! <3 Mytho is my favorite, then Ahiru, then Fakir, then Rue.
You probably tend to get more attached to minor characters because they have less of their personality forcibly thrown in your face perhaps? o.o That's probably also why JK and I aren't too fond of the main character of a series.

@JK: Haha, it's a sign that you should watch Princess Tutu!
You know... about half of my friends are programming majors, so I bet if I give them the translations, they could program an English character sorter...
PostPosted: Thu Mar 11, 2010 1:49 am

@Kits - Well it's more about most of the breeds I like or dislike are coincidentally certain hair lengths. I love bulldogs and pugs and boxers, but I'm not overly fond of any other short hair breeds. I rather love huskies, shiba's - and actually I saw my first real life corgis today. I find them a little disturbing, a shiba mated with a wiener dog!!

Ant problems are the worst, and the thing is when a bee gets in it's usually only one, not a swarm, the way ants are, and in summer flies even are. Haha, I had forgotten what I said so I understood that sentence to mean bees get into your house more often than cars get into your house. First I was thinking that was random, and secondly I would hope cars aren't getting into your house. I'd understand your hate of cars for sure if they were always plowing through your walls ^_~.

Well Morgey announced she was writing an evil fic and you supported it! I WAS GANGED UP ON FIRST!!!

@both - I'll try to make time for Princess Tutu ok! No guarantees I'll like it though. Also if you don't have it and you want it Best Buy is selling the anime entire collection for $32.99 right now (been taunting Kits with this on another thread - well, more like informing, wasn't meaning to taunt but if she doesn't want to buy it I guess it might be a taunt).

Yea, you get a lot of the negative about a main character too, and depending on that negative it can make you dislike them. Like I love Edward Elric including his bad traits, but Yami no Yuugi's (I'm just going to say he's as main a character as Yuugi for my purposes, if we are going to argue Yuugi is the main character) bad traits put me off. Harry Potter? Definitely not loving his quirks and glitches.

@Kits - Haha, well if it was 12 episodes I definitely would, 26 is a bit more of a commitment, we'll see. I mean yea I was glad I watched OHC, I didn't know how long it was when I started, and yes that isn't that long. But still, my friend had the first 9 episodes on her and I wasn't expecting to get invested in something that was going to take more than a couple of hours to get through (even more considering I liked it enough to get into the manga).

Which you could send your program majors here, my friend is about to fail her take home math midterm because she can't figure out how to access the program, she skipped the lab class that apparently teaches this. I feel bad for her. It's due tomorrow at 10am, and it's almost 2am now, and she hasn't even started. It just sucks that it's not even like she'll do the work and fail based no the math, but fail based on being unable to run the program the math is in. Never skip lab classes because you don't want to go to the lab, it'll be doom!

Man so many typos in this, think I caught most, but I am SO sleepy, and if my posts have been deteriorated or weirdly structured or something, I apologize, I’m just barely keeping my eyes open but don’t want to sleep. Mostly because my host can’t sleep, seems unfair I just snooze on her couch while she laments in her room. I’ve been trying to watch this BBC miniseries North and South, and it’s ok, I watched the first part earlier. However parts 2 +3 (of 4), being probably 55 minutes each, took me close to 4 hours to get through, and then I just gave up and turned it off. I started 4 but I’m just not absorbing anymore, I probably missed a lot of three but I don’t love it enough to concern myself with that. I’ll watch part 4 tomorrow…after coffee. I’d just have coffee now but I’m not committed to the idea I won’t sleep at all yet. Especially if my host decides to give up on her midterm. Poor host crying !

@ Ketz - Sorters take all the work out of it, so I like 'em! Glad you think the list is useful, makes it worth typing it out. :D
And lol I liked everyone pretty much equally in Dexter's Lab, DeeDee too. Mandark was just a nudge ahead of everyone else.
And actually, the 100th episode just came out! Still not too long, so everyone watch while you can~

AND OMG PRINCESS TUTU FAN! I knew I should have listed all the series I liked in my intro, I coulda found out you were a fan earlier! My favorite characters are Rue, Autor, and Mytho. :'D

And I dunno! Maybe! That might be why, it's the best explaination I can think of. o:

@ JK - I tried to find an English version of the sorter, but couldn't. D: The only character sorters like that I've found in English were... Reborn, Death Note, Hetalia, and Prince of Tennis. No YGO. :c

and omg yes, watch Princess Tutu it is a great show *_*
PostPosted: Thu Mar 11, 2010 9:19 pm

Haha, 100 is WAY long by my standards. Not that I haven't enjoyed several long series, but that's still quite lengthy.

How sad, Death Note is the only of those shows I got into, though I have been considering Hetalia, just again, in the middle of so many series!! And want to see/read so many others, one day.

You should list your series now, we are still in the intro thread no? razz

Princess Tutu is at least short (26 = short, 100 and going does not, hehe), so whenever I get a break in the plot in Naruto again (granted I'm on episode 141 and I can really only think of 2 truly solid breaks in the entire series - maybe), I'll try and give a couple episodes a try. Assuming I find them online.

100 episodes is, like, tolerable for me. When I watch shows that I'm not caught up on, I tend to watch a lot of episodes in big chuncks. Like, I watched almost all of the second season(/24 out of 25 episodes) of Code Geass in one day.

If you're interested, the Death Note sorter is here!

I guess I'll do that then! ...Er, in the intro thread.

Tutu has 38 episodes, actually. And I'm pretty sure there's some online somewhere *cough*likemaybeveoh*cough*.
PostPosted: Fri Mar 12, 2010 2:21 pm

Yea, sometimes I have the time for that, but if I have work - and especially once I go back to school next year, that won't be as easy. And the longer the series, if a longer stretch comes up between when I can watch, it's harder to try and remember things. Although Naruto "luckily" flashes back quite often rolleyes . Code Geass, another thing on my fail list (that is the list of things I want/need to see/read but am failing to do so because of life getting in the way).

Ok, I think I'll play with that just for fun, thanks. I'll have to go pull up a character profile first though, because it's been awhile since I've read/seen any of it (almost 2 years actually) and especially with Japanese names I'm not remembering who exactly all the minor characters are razz

Haha...nice!

I meant to say 36 not 26 btw, haha, and yea Kits said 36 but the Best Buy package had at least 37 episodes listed, but still, around 40 is doable in a short period for me. Though I would rather keep it in the 10 - 30 range. Over 50 and especially over 100 it'll depend on my life schedule sweatdrop .

@JK: Corgis are so adorable! And one of my friends has a half-corgi, half-golden retriever, and he is just the most awesome dog in the world! He has a corgi body type, but the fir and ears of a golden retriever. <3
True, I have never had a swarm of bees in my house. XD Though cars crash through the wall all the time. :B
I deny your accusation of me supporting Morgey! So it is no longer true, even with physical evidence, muaha!
I do want to buy Princess Tutu but I has not the moneys! D:
Yeah, I feel like we get way too much of Yami no Yuugi's negative side for me to like him too much. Same with Harry.
The great thing about Princess Tutu though is that it has an 'ending' right halfway through. Like it resolves well and feels happy, but it still leaves it open for the second half. So you can dedicate yourself to the first half of the series and 'finish,' and then decide after that if you liked it enough to start the second half. The second half is better though, even though both are amazing.
Oh, man, that really sucks. D: I feel bad for your host. Luckily I have not/will not need to take any labs in college though, as the only classes that would require that are sciences for my major, and I managed to take both of mine online.

@Rikkai: Okay, so I changed the coding of the YUU*GI*OU one myself so it's in English, and I also translated all the comments the original programmer put (awesomely enough, he/she said that we're free to use the program and explained how to add/take away/change names in the sorting list), so now I just have to commission one of my friends to make sure I didn't mess anything, get rid of the hyperlinks on the site, maybe make it look a bit prettier, and then find me a way to get it online, and we're gold! I also added in all of the characters in my current favorite character list that weren't included in the original sorter. I didn't take out the Genex or 5D's characters though, in case some people would want to use them. Sadly I probably won't be seeing any of those friends for a week or so, so it still might be a while.
Haha, I'm not really in any hurry to see 5D's sooner, because I don't mind long series as long as they're good. XD And whether I start it now or later, I'm still going to have to watch however many episodes they end up coming out with in the end.
Yay Princess Tutu! Autor, really? XD I thought he was interesting, but there just wasn't enough to him for him to be more than that to me. I really liked Neko Sensei and Edel though, as well as the four main.

@JK: Hetalia is pretty good from what I've gotten from it. I haven't seen the anime yet, but I read most of the webcomic and like the first volume of the manga. If you don't mind completely out there and goofy, it's pretty awesome. Lots of shounen ai hints and fan service, though it is kind of confusing sometimes, and doesn't really have an actual plot.
animeseason.com has all of the Princess Tutu episodes for streaming in pretty high quality. http://www.animeseason.com/princess-tutu/ They're in Japanese though; I don't know where you can find them dubbed if that's what you're looking for.

@Rikkai: Ah, well technically it has 38 episodes, but in the second season they divide every episode in half and title them "Title Part I" and "Title Part II," so it really does end up being twenty-six episodes in timing at least.

@JK: I did say twenty-six. XD;;
PostPosted: Sat Mar 13, 2010 6:36 am

@ JK - Haha, I know, right? I didn't know more than half those people in that sorter. Death Note didn't have a lot of memorable characters (though, I didn't really like it, so maybe that's why I couldn't recall that many people. *shrug*)

@ Ketz - R-REALLY? I know nothing of coding, so that's amazing! Can't wait to see the end result~
And lol Autor. He's more significant than other characters I end up liking from other series. xD And also, he is hilarious.
and omg neko-sensei, he is great. I kinda liked Ahiru's sadist friend, too.

...I feel like a nerd for knowing most of the people in the sorter now... *cries*
I took like... two programming classes in high school, so I knew enough to at least translate the Japanese text. XD;; Like there was no way I could've written or deciphered the actual code that leads to the sorting, but I could tell where comments were (comments are notes that the programmer writes to themselves or other programmers that have absolutely no effect on the actual coding; they're characterized by having // before the text), so I was able to translate those without fear of affecting the code, and I could tell where the programmer inserted names, since they were in a list format. I could also tell where the hyperlinks were, but I was too afraid of removing them in case they had something important to the page that I wasn't noticing. crying Either way though, I don't know if my friends have any domains, so we might not actually be able to get it online... but we could at least run it off our computers as long as we have all the files, so I could take um... screencaps. How exciting. XP
OMG that is the sexiest pose ever, Autor!
Oh, Ririe? XD She was pretty funny, but didn't necessarily have the personality where I would like her as a character. Wouldn't change anything about her, because she's good comic relief, but don't like her personally. I was much more fun of Ahiru's other friend, Pike. :3

Gwah! Sorry for not replying...T____T
I've been getting my mock college results back, so I've been pretty distracted...>______<
Not to mention I've been hunting down YGOR, trying to finish up my big AMV project and getting addicted to a new anime series...eheheh.. sweatdrop

Anyways, Kitsu, to answer you question on the last page about the pigeon almost taking off my ear in the train station....
Well, first off, everying except the main concourse is open-air, so the place is fun of pigeons, strutting around. Anyways, my mum and I were walking towards the exit of the station that had the public transport hub (trams, buses and taxis) when this...demon of a pigeon swooped off one of the TVs put up for them commuters and went straight between me and my mother. almost taking off my ear...

Cue me doing an absolute Shizuka K and screaming like a little girl....-______-;;

@Kits - actually I saw another Corgis today, I'll never be a fan but it's less creepy...I think...that first one I saw really did mate with a dachshund. They see like very amiable dogs though, and I definitely think I'd like the personality of the Corgis.

Haha, oh poor you, must be killer having to re-plaster all the time ^_~.

WHAT?! You are actually going to make me quote things?!? Well, I'm way too lazy to go find it, but oh man, lies...hmm, that gives me ideas. Hey wanna roleplay Shaadi Kits?!? Haha j/k j/k, ugh I need to go finish my rp idea list, I got SO SO SO mad at Fry's today. And I'm still mad, my laptop is a mess and ugh it's been such a hassle "fixing" it. At least it's home. And SEEMS to be ok, other than the chaos that is my system.

That is indeed sad...ummm...umm...sell blood!! Hehe, I saw Pretear at Fry's today, it was $29.99, but at 13 episodes total that's not as good of a deal (though pretty good by anime standards). I think I'd be more likely to want Princess Tutu than Pretear, since my laptop seems to be behaving maybe I'll try to stream an episode tonight or tomorrow when I clean my room.

I think part of why I like Yami no Yuugi is because in contrast to Yuugi he's got a nice dark bit, less of a childish side. But yea, if I had really truly ever separated him out from Yuugi upon initial analysis I'd probably dislike him too. However I didn't, and now I won't.

I know, I feel bad too, I hope she can get a 60 on that final project/final. It'd give her a 71 in the class, but at least that'd be high enough to keep her of academic probation (for the 3rd time sweatdrop )...she hopes.

Sometimes out there and goofy is just perfect for me, same with a lack of plot. I think that's why I (thus far) like the OHC anime over the manga, because I got into OHC on the grounds of it being a "light" series, and the anime retains that, the manga gets dark and dramatic - built around crushes and such, and that is both depressing and annoying. Now that I have my computer back I can start reading again, because I can figure out where I left off (hooray bookmarks).

Hahaha, ok, I got confused by Rik saying there were 38 and thought I just quoted you wrong, my bad. I knew it ended in 6, whatever you said! razz

@Rik - I agree many of the DN characters really weren't memorable, so it'll be annoying to look them up, but if this is the only sorter I can get on right now I want it to be accurate as can be, I take my "just for fun" very seriously ^_~.

@Kits - you are a nerd, be proud! Hahaha, I mean it has been 2 years since I've read, I've gone through many other series since, series I've liked way better.

@Shizuka - mock college results?
PostPosted: Sun Mar 14, 2010 8:44 am

@Joukas-Sadly yes...T____T
Basically it was a practice run for our "college exams", which we call the Leaving Cert, over here.

Ah got it, it's a testing thing. I thought you meant more along the lines of application, in which case I'm wondering why you'd have trial applications. Anyhow hope you did well...^_^
PostPosted: Tue Mar 16, 2010 8:07 pm

@Shizuka: No worries hun. ^^ Good luck on your results!
OMG scary pigeon is scary. O_o

@JK: Yay, I love Corgis! <3 They have really awesome personalities. Like they're loyal and protective, but also very loving and cuddling. They're not demanding, and they don't bark much. They pretty much just want love. ^^
Haha, I'm not making you quote anything. XD I said proof wouldn't work after all, didn't I? wink
Oh, did Fry's fail at fixing your computer? D:
Yeah, that does seem less of an awesome deal for 13 episodes, especially since Pretear is one of those anime that you can buy for super cheap online if you're willing to have slightly less awesome subtitles and no dub. ^^ Karma has the whole series, so I'm not so concerned about getting it.
Yay, watch Princess Tutu woman, watch it! =D
Alright, then you'd probably very much like Hetalia. =D There's a Live Journal community that has the vast majority of the webcomic scanlated. It's a pain in the a** to navigate, and a lot of the comics you don't have permission to view for some reason, but it gives you a lot of content. Don't know where to read the manga/watch the anime though, as I have yet to search them out.
Although Hetalia is even more wacky and unplotful than the Host Club anime.
No worries. XD
Death Note characters were more memorable to me than a lot of anime characters for some reason, even though I never even read all of the manga. XD;; Saw all of the anime though.
Yay proud to be a nerd!

@Kits - I do prefer that dogs don't bark much, it's really annoying when I go to my friends houses and they make noise like crazy. Like omg what is that going to do?!

Psh...whatever...I am right because I say so. And I don't even know what we are talking about anymore, so there.

They found nothing wrong, because my warranty only covers SOMETHING and not NOTHING they charged me a service fee *glares daggers of death at them*. Though they did clean the fan, I call that something, pah! I can't clean my own fan, there is no cover to open off it, unlike my friends who can clean her own, I'd have to take the whole thing apart. I'm afraid I wouldn't be able to get it back together. Anyhow since I got it back it goes NUTS half the time when I put a disk in, I was thinking about installing the Sims since my laptop is dead but the Sims need the disk in to run so I worry. The P key has been kinda sketchy, but I'm afraid to take it back. Ugh, NEVER buy a computer at Frys, NEVER! Apparently they pay their technicians jack s**t, which is why they have crap technicians. Quality has to be paid for. I love the Geek Squad but my warranty is not with Best Buy. Whatever, my next one will be, because even though they cost more, it'll be worth the better service package I can get buying with Best Buy 3nodding .

Yea, online versions with no dub is how I got OHC, Fruba and the original FMA - except one random episode was dubbed instead of subbed, which was funny because I was watching it and was like there are no subtitles...OMG I UNDERSTAND then realized it was in English. I loaned it to a friend and TOLD her this, but apparently she forgot because she had that exact same epiphany moment too. Hilarious! It's fine for OHC as I HATE the dub, although it kinda sucks for Fruba since I can't stand Yuki's voice, and while I really love a lot of the other voices subbed, he just makes me not want to watch it. Oh well, free is free.

Ahhh!! Ok ok I will I swear, just let me get through Naruto first! I'm almost done with the original series (well, 50 - 60 more episodes out of 220 that's seriously almost done though) and then I'll check out Princess Tutu before I start Shippuden (not sure I'm spelling that right, WAY too lazy to go check).

Wacky and unplotful is fine, but I think Naruto, Code Gease anD PRINCESS TUTU OK!!! are going to be ahead of that. And I really should start FMA Brotherhood as well, so it'll be awhile before I go searching that out in any form anyhow.

Only saw a bit of the anime, the dub, did not like L's voice and stopped. It did not seem to fit him at all. Never got around to looking for the sub, and I'm still annoyed with how the series goes, like a lot of fans. I think I knew the majority of the characters at the time but they obviously didn't stick with me after. Most of the minor characters had no background/depth to them, so once I was done and there faces and words blurred it was hard to retain them.

Yay indeed!
