"Eheh... Well, sorry to d-disappoint you, ma'am... b-but I'm not e-exactly the, uh... the best person t-to, uh..." he stammered, seeming to glow red now as Atropos approached him. He caught Alex's growl due to his heightened hearing, and glanced at her, making eye contact with a look that screamed: "Help me!"

Atropos's grin widened, and she backed off before Alex could react. "Trust me..." she purred. "I don't get anyvon to come and visit, and I visit others even less. Anyvon who shows me zis kind of attention is worth all ze while." she said, then leaned in once more. "Even with ze adorable articulation you have." she purred, then turned to walk up the stairs to the throne.
Alex kept here eyes on the woman as she walked past, the growl still humming in the back of her throat. "Yeah...not to be rude or anything, but who exactly are you supposed to be?"
The woman chuckled quietly as she came to the top of the stairs. "I am many things, child." she said, moving to lean against the side of Hades throne. "Feared by mortals and gods alike."

Lucas' blush began to ebb away slowly as Atropos moved away, and he was able to think clearly enough to recall where he had heard her name before. High school history and eidetic memory were awesome, he decided.
"You're... one of the Fates," he said slowly, "And... you're the one that ends lives."
Oh God... he thought, she wasn't trying to do a praying mantis thing, was she? Seduce me and then kill me?!

Atropos smiled as she looked back at Lucas, a malicious curl now lacing it. "Very good...I am impressed. Not many humans even know who I am any more." she purred. "No one praises, fears, or even speaks our names any more. Unless they actually know of us. It's so hard to find anyvon who gives us anykind of attention." she continued, adjusting her posture. "And if it makes you feel any better...your string is still far to long vor me to cut." she said, then grinned a more, sultry grin. "Although I can do ze other half..."
"Okay...can we get back to answering questions or something?" Alex snapped.

"Oth-- other half?" Lucas stammered, unsure of what she meant... but he had a hunch.

Atropos smile broadened as her chocolate brown eye met his. ”It means vat you tink it means.” she purred.
”I think answering questions…” Hades said, his voice uncomfortable. ”…so that they can leave would be best, Atropos.”
”I’m not so sure I vant them to leave.” she replied, her attention still purely on the young hero.
”I’m sure he’ll give you just as much attention later.” Hades said, shifting in his seat.
”I’m sure.” she replied, her voice filled with velvet. ”Perhaps we’ll run into each other again outside.”
The growl in Alex‘s throat bubbled up again, louder this time. She really, really didn‘t like this woman for some reason. Instincts made it hard for her to like people who gave off such….vibes like that. ”Right…as far as I know, we’ll both be pretty damn busy later. So why don’t we get back to what we were doing before.” she said, then turned her attention towards Hades. ”Why did you pull us into your home, and what exactly was so dangerous down the hall?”
Atropos grin turned sinister as she glanced to Hades as well.
”As I said before, the other hero is currently fighting a demon that could slaughter the two of you without even trying.” Hades replied. The Fate beside him giggled a bit and adjusted her posture against his throne. ”Farther down the hall, you would have come to what is essentially the core of this planet. Not really a physical core, but something that is essentially keeping this world thriving, interlaced, what have you. And don’t get any ideas…it’s not some sort of on and off switch that you can just do something with and poof, the worlds are the way they’re supposed to be again. It’s just the easiest way for this being to quickly dump worlds together into one world, then continue with his project.” he continued. ”You’d know it by the immense energy shield guarding it from anything and everything, and the garden of dead demons that have been unfortunate enough to get too close to it.”
”And I assume that is where we were supposed to go…and where the big scary bad guy is, right?” Alex said, crossing her arms.
Atropos giggled again.
”Not exactly…” Hades replied. ”The “big scary bad guy” as you called him, has his own realm that he watches his little creation from. The core is unguarded save for the energy field that kills whatever touches it. And…the man in charge will know if someone gets close to it, and he will make a personal appearance. Then he will expel you for getting too close to his project. By any means he deems necessary.” Hades replied.
”Okay…” Alex said, nervousness beginning to set in again. ”So who exactly is this guy? You mentioned something earlier about there being…some kind of bomb? One that could…blow up the…planet?”
Atropos giggled again. This time though, she moved herself so that she was sitting on the throne’s armrest…and a very long, very sharp, very shiny set of shears was now gripped in on had as the other traced the tip of the blades. ”More or less. It is the same ting he does to every planet he touches. An absolutely fantastic display of fireworks.”
Alex’s eyes widened. ”So…that thing that‘s impossible to get to really is going to…kill us? Everyone?”
Atropos drew her fingers away from the blade, and the two blades suddenly snapped shut with an ominous crack. ”Turn de planet into a new asteroid belt? Mmmmmhhmm.”” she purred again. ”As he has done wit many, many planets, child. I haven’t seen so many severed strings caused by one man since I bothered to travel about de universes to see de Anti-Monitor in work. Mmm…so many poor souls wit such a short thread.”

Lucas paid close attention to Hades' words, even going so far as to block out Atropos' laughter and once the others had finished, he blinked, going back into his Paragon mindset once more. The blush that had been so obvious seemed to nearly vanish as it receded quickly from his skin, and he looked to Hades with a grimly confident spark in his eye.
"No. There has to be a way to stop this," he said, his voice now restored of that hard determination before looking to Alex. "We wouldn't have been called together by the Keeper of Space and Time if he didn't believe we were capable of stopping this. But... my question is, what's going to happen once we succeed?"
"Simple..." called a new, ethereal voice, and a male figure around Paragon's height and build appeared in the Throne Room. "This combined universe shall be destroyed, and all inhabitants, dead or alive, shall be returned to their respective universes afterward. Whether or not they shall have memory of what happened is up to the One Above All."

"We enjoy the night, the darkness, where we can do things that aren't acceptable in the light. Night is when we slake our thirst." Blackheart growled as he crashed landed in the ground. He glanced up to Captain Marvel and was curious if this would ever end. He could go all eternity fighting this mortal but he had other plans. He stood up as he cleared his throat, "What do you want? What brings you to hell?" "Better to rule in hell than serve in heaven."

((Finally! What took you dude?!))
Marvel hovered down close to the ground. "I told you: I'm here on a mission to find whoever made this combined universe, and put a stop to him." he replied calmly.

((Sorta slipped my mind. So many rps I'm in I can't keep track of them all.)) "We enjoy the night, the darkness, where we can do things that aren't acceptable in the light. Night is when we slake our thirst." "And you expect to find that person here? If I knew who did it I'd crush them beneath my foot. You won't believe how busy my Father and I have been since the universes collide. More then one realm means double the deaths!", Blackhear yelled. "Better to rule in hell than serve in heaven."

"You can't even beat me, dude, and you think you can go up against a guy who has enough power to merge countless universes into one... and win against him? You're either incredibly crazy or incredibly dumb. No offense intended, by the way, it's just... come on, use your head!" Marvel retorted, folding his arms.

HADES THRONE ROOM
Hades blinked and stared at the new arrival for a long beat. But, otherwise seemed unfazed by the uninvited guest. ”Well…what do you know. Another ultra-powered being enters the universe. Xiao really doesn’t care who comes and goes anymore, does he?” he said, leaning his head against his fist.
Atropos glanced briefly at Hades, her expression nothing short of thrilled now. Both from the little twist unfolding in front of her, and the young man’s sudden change in behavior. Adorable shy stuttering, AND confident and in charge? My, my…perhaps she would try her hand at playing Aphrodite. ”I tink we both know that the Spectre and Doctor Strange are de only beings that really have Xiao’s attention.” she said, then turned her attention back to the small group. ”As foolish as it is. I can name no less than five beings besides ourselves that could shut down dat core, and all of dem are on this planet. Though I can’t say Xiao has ever been one for common sense. I really am starting to believe we were the only ones who knew how to handle situations like this.”
Hades rolled his eyes and glanced back up at Atropos. ”And yet…who started the whole problem? to begin with? Hm.”
The woman shrugged. ”So I didn’t think about de consequences. Fair enough.” she replied, then tried to change the subject. “Let us not be rude though. I believe an introduction should be appropriate? Hm?”

The new arrival's glowing white eyes looked up to Hades and Atropos, listening to their words.
"You may refer to me as 'Captain Cosmos'. I found that name to be appropriate after the Merge caused my creation." the being said. Paragon blinked.
"Wait... you were created by this Merge? That means you'll die once this thing is stopped, right?" the young hero asked, and the being nodded slowly, seemingly unfazed by this.

Atropos's expression grew even more enthused. "Ven it's stopped? I am pretty sure his fate vould be sealed either way." she said, then placed a delicate finger up to her lips. "I didn't even know dis creature came to be. Perhaps I should go back home so I can vatch dings more clearly." She said quietly, then paused and blinked. Glancing over to the back of the throne, she smiled and bent down, placing her sheers at her feet. When she sat back up, a black cat was curled up in her arms. She grinned a wide, sharp smile as she placed the cat on her lap and pet him. It's large amber eyes rested on the group below.
No telling how a cat had gotten in here, or why the woman seemed so happy to see it. Hades didn't seem very phased by it's arrival.
