**Back to School Scavenge Postponed** [09/18/06 10:54:54 PM]
Unfortunately, we are not going to be able to launch 'Charlie and Chelsea's Back to School Scavenge' event this evening as planned.
Every member of the dev team has been working hard all week on this event - but we ran into some unforseen complications in the last few hours of launch.
In order to give the Event/Quest it's full timeframe for completion - we're delaying till next Monday (the 25th) so the event can run for the full week (ending at 11:59pm on Sunday the 1st of October).
Further announcements and details will be posted over the weekend in the Admin > WhuddleWorld topic.
We apologize to each of you for this last minute, unforseen delay. But please also know that this Event is based on much of the ground work for our Quest system - so as we iron on the problems prior to launching this event - we continue to get closer and closer to the long awaited release of the Quest System.

We regret to inform all of you that due to a recent problem with some of our printing equipment - the next two issues of the WhuddleWorld Chronicles have been cancelled.
We know this is upsetting news, and we'll be working to get the machines fixed as quickly as possible - but some of the parts we need have be shipped all the way across WhuddleWorld. It could take weeks.
We will be back, however, with a HUGE ISSUE for December - so please hang in there with us! And you'll still be able to pick up archive copies in the meantime.
Also, the Nature's Architect Contest Winners will be announced here on 'The Blah-Blah-Blah Boards' next week, and the winning prizes will stlil be handed out at that time.

Follow-up to the Back to School Event [10/03/06 12:39:05 PM]
Greetings Citizens,
As you all know, the Back to School Scavenge Event/Quest did not go as well as we had hoped. All of the Elders work very hard on these things, but there were a number of factors we simply "missed" when we designed the event due to timing constraints, and some things were quite simply human error.
We (all the Elders) are just as disappointed as all of you were at some of the snafu's with the event. But the upside is that as a result, all future events will not suffer from the same problems/difficulties.
Also, to make things completely fair across the board - as we realize the whole issue of using browser conventions to expidite completing the hunt was likely NOT intentional cheating on anyone's part, we are going to do another round of prizes - based on the original guidelines. What this means is 5 more people (the top 5 times) will receive a backpack, and 100 more people (the top 100 times) will receive a special packet of notebook paper.
So - to sum up - here is the total number that was/will be given out:
1. Backpacks - random 10 were given at the conclusion of the event, an additional 5 will go out before day's end today to the people with the 5 fastest total completion times.
2. Notebook paper - random 200 were given out at the conclusion of the event, an additional 100 will go out before day's end today to the people with the 100 fastest total completion times.
Total: 15 Backpacks, 300 packets of Notebook paper
A humble apology from all of the Elders for some of the goofs we made during this event. We hope you'll all enjoy the addtional prizes we are giving out as a result - and stay tuned for bigger and better events that will NOT suffer from the same difficulties this one did.

A few people have PMed me WW answers, so in order to STOP the PMs, please read this.
The daily trivia quiz answers are TBA because it is against WW's ToS to give out the answers, not because I do not know the answers. The answers will not go up until the next quiz is up and those answers are actually revealed on the site.
