There were dark figures standing over Tenyou. Some of them looked like they had feathers of some sort. It didn't take long for him to find out why everything was red. There was a thin covering of blood over his eyes, so he could see only a little. He tried to brush away the blood, but his hand just wouldn't lift up. In fact, he could barely move at all. Even breathing was painful and required so much energy.
Tenyou was a little scared. Who are these people standing around him? Why were they looking at him? Were they hunters? He wanted to speak, to ask them to leave him alone, but all that came out was a squeak of some sort. His voice... it wouldn't come out. There was nothing he could do to communicate now.

 Hikaru, Fenleigh Hikaru held onto Tenyou's hand, never letting go, and endlessly pestering the medics asking how he was, "Don't worry, Ranpa.. You're in good hands now," he said, trying to hold the tears back that were forming in his eyes, blurring his vision.
"You'll be ok, Ranpa... You'll see!" he said, squeezing his hand in both of his own...
FOr reassurance. But for whom... was another questiong altogether...

At first, Tenyou was terribly afraid when he felt someone holding his hand, but the person held it gently and so he calmed down. The voice was so familiar, but every sound he heard was a little slurred and unclear. He was sure, however, that he knew this person. Nobody else would have such sincerity and worry in one voice.
The comforting squeezing of his hand made Tenyou absolutely sure that the person speaking to him wasn't a hunter. There were only a few people who would worry about him so: the High One, Mother, and Fenleigh. But he knew that the High One and Mother had yet to find him, for he couldn't feel the usual intensity of light nor the coolness of wind. The only person left would be Fenleigh.

Hikaru, Fenleigh Hikaru sniffed, trying to hold back the tears that had welled up in his eyes -the doctors left them alone now, since their work was done, and there was nothing else they could do.
"Please don't die, Tenyou..." he sniffed again, failing to hold the tears back as a precious few rolled down his face...
By now, Bell and the two leaders had come back, but before anyone could say anything, Bell held a finger to her lips, and looked at them in a way that said -speak and you die- in a way that only she could without being rude.
They watched the two in silence, and when they thought no one was looking, the two black-bird leaders exchanged a glance...
But only they could tell what went on between the unspoken words in their eyes...

Pain. That was all he could feel besides comfort. He could feel nothing other than pain. Everything hurt so much. It was nearly unbearable. It was so hard to concentrate on staying awake. Tenyou didn't want to fall asleep and make Fenleigh sad. He didn't want the firefly to believe he may be dead. If only he knew... If only he knew that Tenyou is an angel, then he wouldn't be so worried.
Weakly, Tenyou lifted a hand that joined with the one being held in Fenleigh's hands. He wanted nothing more than to tell the firefly that he wasn't going to die. He wanted nothing more than to cease those heartbreaking sobs. Though Fenleigh probably didn't know, tears were leaking through Tenyou's own eyes.

Hikaru, Fenleigh Tears leaked out of Hikaru's eyes...
Now they were both crying, "Tenyou....!" he sniffed, and stifled a sob, as he held the hands of the one he loved tighter, in reassurance, "It's ok... I'll be here... I promise, I won't leave...!" he said, Tenyou must've been in so much pain but-!
Bell watched from the side, and sighed, "...Let's leave them alone," she said quietly, the others nodded, and they went somewhere else...

His vision only seemed to blur even more and Tenyou was scared. He stiffened in fear, nearly closed eyes widening a bit in fear. There was probably an expression in them that seemed to be begging for help, though he didn't know what Fenleigh could do to help him.

Hikaru, Fenleigh Tears continued to leak out of Hikaru's eyes, "It'll be ok, Tenyou... I promise... It'll be ok..." he whispered, unsure whether it was more for himself, or for Tenyou, as he felt -rather than saw (his tears were blinding him)- slip into unconsciousness...
"I promise..."

(Sure, it's okay with me. Also, don't worry about not being here for a long time.) Tenyou suddenly grew very tired, and he wasn't sure if it was from his wounds or how long he had been awake. The High One's light made warmth that very much promoted the drowsiness, making him panic a little. What if he was actually dying from his wounds? Where would he go? He never knew what happened to angels if they ever died by mistake.
Slowly, very slowly, the redness of the world turned very dark, and he continued slipping into unconsciousness. He prayed and prayed that he wasn't dying, or at least would return home if he was. He didn't want to know what would happen if he died, even when he wasn't supposed to. There was only one person on his mind that he just had to mutter before he fell to sleep.
"Fenleigh..."

Hikaru had stayed by Tenyou's side the entire time, so it was no wonder that he had fallen asleep -still holding Tenyou's hand of course, Bell noted.
The conflict had long since been resolved...
Well, for the moment...
And all was well...
Or so it seemed...

Tenyou woke up after what seemed like a second or two of blackness. He was just suddenly aware that he wasn't dead, since he didn't hear the rejoicing of angels as he would usually hear. Then that should mean that he wouldn't have to worry about what happens after angels die by mistake for the time being.
It was then that he was aware of something on his hand. As he looked at it, his vision now cleared and no longer red, he saw Fenleigh's hand holding onto it, even though the firefly was asleep. Tenyou's eyes stared at the firefly's sleeping face for a long time. Even unconscious, Fenleigh just looked very sad.

Hikaru, Fenleigh "Mngh...!" Hikaru mumbled something in his sleep, before he started to wake up, his free hand going to his head, rubbing his bleary eyes as he opened them, in a sleepy fashion.
"Tenyou...?" he murmured, "I dreamed you got hurt again," he said, his vision still bleary, and unclear, "Only thing time you almost died..." he said, tears prickled behind his lids, "I thought I lost you..." he said quietly, as his eyes filled, blurring his vision again, before he could see clearly, "Promise you won't go away...?" he pleaded in a soft voice, "Not like the others... please...?" he trailed off, falling asleep again...
Not that he ahd really been awake...
He had been sleep talking, yet the single tear that trailed down his cheek, may have led one to believe otherwise...
"..love you..."

Not like the others? What in the world did Fenleigh mean? Knowing that he wouldn't know the answer until the firefly really woke up, Tenyou just moved a little closer to him, holding his hand tighter and wiping away the tears in his sleepy eyes. He wanted very much to comfort Fenleigh, but he wasn't exactly sure how. All he could do was stay where he was and try to let the firefly know that everything was going to be okay.
"I won't go away," Tenyou whispered, carressing Fenleigh's hand much like a mother would do to her child. What the firefly had said after his plea didn't exactly register in Tenyou's mind. All he knew was that it had to do with love. But didn't Fenleigh love a star? Sure, Tenyou was a star himself, but that didn't mean Fenleigh had been watching him every night.

Hikaru, Fenleigh Fen's body relaxed, almost as if he had heard him, and fell into a deeper sleep...
"Ten...you..."
Fenleigh had been having a nightmare, seeing all the people he knew and loved die again...
And Bell knew that, her expression sad, as she watched the two...
She knew what he had been thinking, or rather, dreaming, about -and it made her just as sad...
For the one she loved had died as well...
She leaned against the tree, hidden from sight, once again, grieving the loss of her own love...
As well as the loss of Tenyou's child-like innocence that day...
They had both lost much...
But Tenyou, she knew, and Fenleigh...
They both had much to learn, and live for...
She sighed,and silently crept away, leaving the two alone...
Everything would reveal itself in time...
Tenyou and Fenleigh would realize that they trully loved each other -and they would both realize that Tenyou had been the star Hikaru had fallen in love with...
For she herself, had noticed, though they hadn't, that the star Hikaru loved to watch so much, had disappeared...
Though they didn't know it...[[TS again?]]

(Sure. Another time skip.) Relaxing as Fenleigh did, Tenyou closed his eyes. Mother's sweet whisper filled the air to soon lull him to sleep. He then wondered if Fenlight heard the whisper as well. It seemed that he heard Tenyou's promise, but he couldn't very well be sure. Maybe he'll wait for the firefly to mention it or something. Or maybe it would be better to keep silent and let the topic die down.
By now, Tenyou was wondering what to say to the High One if he ever returned to the sky. It was evident that Fenleigh was afraid of the deaths or those he loved. Now Tenyou was afraid of what would happen to Fenleigh. The bug people had very short life spans, and he was afraid for Fenleigh, who would also have to go as well. Where would he go once his time here was over? If his life couldn't be extended, then Tenyou hoped to convince the High One and Mother to reserve a spot in the sky for Fenleigh.
