i think i sort of understand where you are coming from. but i had alway felt that this place was to almost be like an asylum for boo skin wearers. if the only requirement is to have a skin substitute, it means they can still change their avatars, while those who wanted to keep their boo skin in its original form cannot change their avatars. but it is true that opening up the whole skin deal would make it more like the rest of gaia. i really don't spend too much time in forums, arenas and whatnot, but whenever i do, i always get inspired to play around with my avatar. i'm sure it's the same for a number of people here. i also think it would be silly to have members in the guild, but not allow them to participate just because they have a substitute skin. that's just mean.

anyway, so when you're done venturing through gaia, and feel like you need some support in your choice with keeping your skin, you can come here, where others can't change their avatar either. that's how i look at it anyway. i'm not boo gun-ho, i just like the skin. if you interpret the guild as a boo lover guild, then i can see why our opinions differ.

This guild is dying.
Given time, it'll be nothing. A relic.
It should be neither what it is now, nor a Boo Lover guild.
Consider it, rather, a place where the people of Gaia could see a small cadre of folks that were strong enough of will to keep a skin that doesn't exist anymore.
How do we stop it from being so little?
Get new people in here. In order to be remembered, we need to get new blood into the guild. I never said that the others couldn't 'participate'. The main forum, would of course, be open to everyone in the guild.
There would be a sub made for only those with the skin, or perhaps a few more than just one. In this way, you can still retain your ability to not see avatars without the skin. In this way, the guild could function as it always has. If those without the skin were to post in these skin only subs, guild moderators could remove their posts, and give them warnings.

If you want to mess around with your avatar, then make a new account so you can do just that. Quell the urge to change the avatar on the account that matters. If this account has most of your better items on the avatar, and thusly frozen, it's a loss that you already deal with.

having a skin requirement makes this guild fairly unique. i've only come across one other, and i'm not sure it's an active, as in operational, guild. plus, as far as boo guilds go, ours is one of the larger ones. i was actually surprise to find that out. as for getting new members, i spend lots of time looking through forums to find new people. i wish i could force whoever i invite to join, then this 170 member business would have been long forgotten. but i can't, and that's probably for the best. then there is also the problem of getting people to be active. just b/c there are new members, doesn't mean they will be active. :/

Every guild faces such issues; in fact, if this wasn't exclusively a B.O.O.-skin guild, it'd probably be far more inactive.

As it is, I have no problem with the guild being 'inactive', as it seems to me that we're actually quite alive and kicking. 4laugh

Compared to some guilds, we're jack.
But then, there are some decent sized guilds out there, aren't there?
For what we are, upon consideration, I suppose it could be worse.

Pursuing my previous idea further begins to bore me, so, I'll drop it.

lol, that topic has been discussed a ton.
but yeah, there are some huge guilds out there. it's pretty amazing which ones catch on, and which ones don't. and some of them don't do anything special. makes me a little jealous that i can't pull off something like that
