A large slip of paper that is folded in half; its entirety crinkled in a childish way and splattered with finger marks from paint, as well as what appears to be an attempt at a hand tree. The green paint is mixed with blue and red; golden splotches imitate ornaments and are pieced together by wrapping paper. Resting beneath the tree are sets of boxes, and, in the unorthodox fashion, a river has been drawn without much depth along the paper, as well as a couple of stick figures and the words "Merry Christmas". The handwriting is sloppy and unpracticed, each R tilting and backwards, as well as the letter S and H. Attached to the little hand-made picture is a toothbrush, likely stolen from the bathroom, as it seems to have a piece of tape on it with Kenneth's name written in marker (it may be best to return that one!). Along-side the pilfered toothbrush is a little jingle bell attached to a string in the form of a bracelet.

Receiving a Gift Participants: Sahra, EphremVivina Errol
Wanting to show her thanks, Vivina made her way to Sahra's residence and left a small jewel on the doormat as well as a note saying:
"Thanks for the bag! I wonder what's in it? Hope you like this jewel I found! Merry Christmas!" Sahra stared at the shiny jewel that Ephrem had set atop the kitchen table. "So you found it on the doorstep? That's an odd place to put a gift." She poked at the smooth center, chuckling as she did so. It was shining in the rays from the ceiling light, shooting sparkles out all over the nighttime shadows on the walls of the dining room. "It almost looks like a sun." How nice, it reminded her of warmth, which made her tired and more ready for bed than before. "It's late, how about we put this in a safe place and head off to bed?"
But Ephrem was far to busy staring at the jewel to hear much of anything the cheetah had said. The way it caught the light held his gaze. It was a gorgeous piece of work, he found it hard to believe that anyone would even think about giving it up, much less actually doing so. Not that he was complaining, now he could sit and stare at it all day. You never know, maybe he'd see an alternate reality in it or something!
"Re!?" Sahra poked the dragon's head, much as she had the stone. "Earth to Roofy, wake up." Ephrem lifted his head, grumbling in irritation as the girl snatched up the shiny rock and made a beeline for the upstairs. "Come on, you raven."
Sighing, Ephrem wandered up after her. They would both have to remember to thank their friend for the lovely gift!

D-Corp Secret Santa Participants: SahraAlan Rikery A large slip of paper that is folded in half; its entirety crinkled in a childish way and splattered with finger marks from paint, as well as what appears to be an attempt at a hand tree. Sahra had signed up for the D-Corp secret santa sometime before one of her classes. She had nearly forgotten about it, until a gift mysteriously appeared yet again on her door step. She couldn't help but giggle joyously when she found the masterpiece awaiting her arrival. It brought back memories of her own childhood when painting and drawing were entirely a very large part of her life.
Tacking the makeshift card to her cork board, she didn't want it to get lost, and besides, sight of it made her smirk. How ever, the toothbrush struck her as very strange! Who was this Kenneth person, she wondered? The name sounded familiar, but she couldn't quite place it. So much for ever attaining a better memory span. She'd be sure to hold onto the lovely second hand cleansing instrument in hopes of finding it's home, since the owner probably wanted their toothbrush back in order to clean their teeth.
The little string and jingle bell were something else. It was thoughtful, and struck her as something a feline might wear. So she decided she would wear it around her wrist for a while. Although she'd have to make sure to take it off when ever she did work with Adonai, or else she'd always know where she was...the down point of wearing something that made noise. No sneakiness!

Black Heart, Red Skies Participants: Mew, Mabyn, Aja, Adonai, Sahra, Ephrem “Mew, what the hell?”
“I’m leaving.” Perching atop the neighbors brick-wall-fencing, Mew’s eyes were aflame. Her fingers were interlocked; chin resting against the top of her fists. With narrowed eyes, she let off a sharp hiss. “No one will follow, and I’m not coming back. Aja is staying, look to him now.” She didn’t want to cause havoc, she wanted to get it done and over with before to much damage was done. It’s not like she was there, anyways, so it shouldn’t be too big of a deal. She made Aja stay behind previously for this reason—she wanted Sahra, Re, and Mabyn to attach themselves to the multi-shaping wolf. “No questions asked.”
“So Mew, that’s that?” Aja had his fists gripping his long, blonde hair. The twists of his long locks intertwined with his fingers. His teeth were gritted, eyes closed tightly. “You know what this is going to do to her Mew? And she’s just getting over everything else that’s happened. He feared for the girl, but hoped her new found confidence and general dislike for her mother would make this relatively “easy.”
Mew didn’t answer; she simply ground her teeth and jumped off of the wall. Her feet took her in direction of the road. “Good bye.” She said simply, not stopping for then they might talk her out of leaving.
From above Sahra had been watching from her window. She was sullen—eyes were tearing, with a look of mixed anger and straight disgust on her face. “I should have seen THAT coming, huh Re?” The dragon was speechless, blank, and emotionless. He simply made effort to wrap himself around the cheetah as she sat on her window sill. He felt no need to share his thoughts, he knew they would only make Sahra upset. Her seriously thought Mew leaving was for the best—the past year or so, the “mother figure” had become exactly the opposite of what she claimed to be, and what she initially had been before that point.
“What are we going to do now, Aja?” Mabyn’s voice was mute, almost not understandable. She wasn’t crying, but she mine-as-well be—the look of pure despair on her face was overpowering. The dark cat’s sunset colored hair fell over her yellow eyes as she pulled her knees to bury her face.
“Move on.” He sighed, “It’s the only thing we can do. Stick together and get through it all. Trust is going to be hard to foster, but I think we can manage.”
“You’ll all manage.” Adonai appeared from what seemed like nowhere, fingers gripping the hilt of a large dual-bladed sword almost as long as her body.
“This is why you stuck around for so long, isn’t it Adonai?” Aja rose, his gaze fell down upon the skinny serpent-like woman,
“Yes.” Adonai admitted.

Singing New Moon Participants: Sahra, Ephrem, Aja, Adonai “So we’re moving again.” Sahra sighed, sitting atop a box, cheek resting against her arm. “I guess it’s for the better. I don’t really want to be here anymore.” Ger green eyes shifted to the corner where Ephrem was using his fore-limbs to shove a particularly heavy box over so he could get to another behind it. “I guess.” He replied in a neutral voice, “I don’t really care so-long as I can get up the stairs and fit through the doorways.”
The feline laughed, her tail twitching in an amused fashion. Her ears were lulled, and she felt abnormally at ease with the situation. It was different than before, in the way that it was pre-meditated versus out-of-the-blue. Not to mention a lot of her general anger had disappeared along with her mother. Sure she loved her, but it just felt like she wasn’t herself anymore—but there could ne good reason for that. Sahra knew in the future she would look back and wonder why Mew left, and miss her dreadfully. “We’ll have to stick together now, Re.”
Nodding, the lindworm sported a large toothy grin, canines glimmering sharply in the sunlight from the window. “So you think this new place will be okay, Srra? Aja said there’s a very large fenced in area for us around the house, acres. It will be nice to have some freedom again.”
Sahra laughed, she knew Re loved basking outside in the sunlight. Their current yard was small and taken up mostly by gardens, he had no place to wander around. “Yes I am curious about where exactly Aja is taking us! He said its closer to the track and league, but further from the arcade. He said getting to school will be a little easier for us, apparently there’s a train from Durem that ends somewhere within reasonable walking distance of D-Corp.”
Aja pushed the door open, slipping into the room with a soft smile spread across his face. “So you’re okay with this Sahra?” His voice was pleased, and he felt almost prideful of his now perceived “daughter.” He couldn’t have asked for a better outcome to such a strongly disastrous situation.
Sahra nodded in response. “Yes, I’m actually excited.” The thought of moving on, and on good terms was very appealing to the girl. “But one question Aja, where, specifically are we going?”
“We’ll go to my families’ old home. It will be just us there—for now. My mother and father live overseas, but might come to visit, eventually.” Aja’s bare feet screeched against the wood floors, he peered at the pair through parts in his long blonde hair which covered his entire face. “I originate from the Hurst family. I come from overseas—my family is a very old merchant family who runs trading and shipping companies all around Gaia.”
Sahra blinked, this was the first time she had ever heard anything about Aja’s past. She had always thought he was from another world like her mother was. So he was local, just from another continent? Then what made Aja and Mew so close? “I always thought you came from where my mother was from...so how did you two meet?” He had never been willing to tell them before—she wondered why he suddenly had changed his mind.
“We met when someone hired Mew to kill Mith, my cousin—the same family who was responsible for killing my Aunt Ella, Mith’s mother. I managed to strike a deal with her so she’d stop.” Aja sighed, pulling at his waist length hair; he quickly bound it up into a ponytail to remove it from his eyesight. All of this had taken place so long ago...he had kept it from them in order to protect his secretive family—they were long-lived and preferred to keep a very low profile as to not make enemies. God, he could remember when ships were wooden and still sailed only on wind power. Sah and Re were old enough to keep secrets now.
“What was it?” Ephrem asked curiously, his head twisting comically to one side. Aja had caught his attention!
“Well, Mew was alone and didn’t understand much about the “new” world. Her world was much, much more complex, and life here seemed far to simplistic to her.” He sighed, “She made me promise to stay at her side as a traveling companion until she decided she needed to leave. It was a way for her to integrate herself into Gaian life.”
“So she promised not to kill you cousin if you’d stay with her?”
“That’s the extent of it, Ephrem. Seems too simple, doesn’t it? Well, over time Mew and I became very close. How couldn’t you when you have a singular companion for almost fifty years? I haven’t seen my family since. It’ll be fifty years on your birthday, Sahra.” A quick chuckle escaped his teeth as he grinned. “D-Corp found out about our deal and used it to force Mew to take you. If she didn’t they were going to tell my family where I was, which meant Mew would loose her companion, and my cousin would loose her life. It didn’t make either of us very happy.”
Sahra was making an attempt to absorb all of this information, to link it all together so that it made sense! “How did they find out about it though Aja? And this all makes my mother a mercenary right?” Ephrem decided to add one random question to the mix, “So what’s your actual name Aja?”
“Winny was how they found out about it. Mew made the mistake of telling her, and she leaked the information somewhere, and D-Corp found that information. Why do you think Winny disappeared? She knew to much about Mew, and out of compassion for others, she got in the way of one of Mew’s jobs and ended up getting killed by one of your mother’s enemies. Yes Sah, Mew is a mercenary. Her biology degree and college teaching career were just cover-ups, and something to keep her busy.” Aja couldn’t help but frown as he spoke the last sentence, mew had always been so restless—her true line of work was perfect for her. The shifter laughed, “My full name is Ajalon Siobhan Hurst.”
Ephrem constricted upwards, resting his limbs on top of a stack of boxes. “Ajalon, huh? Your initials are A.S.H. Is that coincidental or purposeful?”
Aja snickered; the dragon could never help but recall strange details. He truly thought outside the box—but his attention span contained as much worth as an empty box of tissues when you had a bad cold. “Re, how do you come up with your crazy questions? I’m pretty sure it’s accidental.”
It all made much more sense now. Sure a lot about Mew was mysterious, but is explained a lot about occurrences she could never before explain, such as Winny’s disappearance. “So where does Adonai come in on all this?”
“Well Srra, I followed your mother here. She thinks it was an accident, but in all reality it was purposeful.” Again Adonai seemed to appear from nowhere, just like magic. “I told you I taught her when she while she was growing up, just as I am you. I wanted to make sure she would stay out of trouble. Although she has done far from that, that is a story for another day. She has departed back to where she belongs; we’ll just put it that way for now.”
“Does that mean you’re going to leave, too, Adonai?” Ephrem had a slightly concerned look on his face. He was far to accustomed to the she-serpents presence. Who would teach them new battle techniques is she left? Sure there was Aja, but he just didn’t seem to have anywhere near the mastery that Adonai held. And she made it apparent by carrying around her huge swords and crossbows.
“No Re, I’m going to stick around for a while and keep an eye on you two. You need some discipline in your life! Y’all can’t get rid of me that easily—you still have a lot to learn from me.” That was one thing Adonai could not do: she could not give up on one of her pupils she had grown attached to, not to mention she had been teaching the girl for most of her life, and she still had the capacity to learn. “Besides, you’re my family now.”
Ephrem simply nodded, his mind pushing toward a new topic. “Adonai, what are you? You too Aja?” He had always found himself wondering what exactly the two were biologically. Sure they had no history of Adonai, but maybe she could be willing to share what she was.
“I’m a Simurgh. Aja’s a Volsung.” Adonai seated herself on a countertop. “A Simurgh is a creature with the foreparts of a canine, tail and wings of a peacock, and a scaled body. They are teachers and fiercely protective creatures who are associated with the tree of life. That might give you some hints toward my past and origin.” She chuckled. “But I’ll let your imaginations take over on that one.”
What a strange sounding creature—Sahra understood why Adonai was always in a human form. Not only did such a creature sound formidable, but also generally frightening! She wondered how big such a thing could get? What did they eat? Adonai seemed to have a preference for meat and fruit, so it was likely they were omnivores leaning more toward a carnivorous diet. A snake/canine would be, anyways. As for a peacock, they were omnivores, so maybe that’s where the fruit cravings came from. The protection phase explained Adonai’s will to stay with what she perceived as her family—them—and her need to teacher was obviously fostered in herself as a student. As for the tree of life, it was the soul of creation and a gateway to other worlds, which made sense, since Adonai was from another world. “It all fits together.” Sahra admitted after her foray with thought.
“What is a Volsung, Aja?” Ephrem was antsy, swaying his body as his muscled tensed and cracked with every small movement.
“A wolf shifter, basically—great warriors born of Odin and wolves or so the stories say— as for my line of heritage, we can’t trace it back much further than my great-grandparents.” He sighed, “My father was not of the pure line, and from him I attained the special ability of shifting into other animals in which I am associated with by totem. Although I don’t know much at all about that, except for that he was a shaman, which is what gained him the ability, and that he was all white, blonde haired and blue eyed like my line justifies.” His family had strict ruling that breeding must be pure, and Hurst members could only have offspring with other wolves (not necessarily Volsung) who where purely white, with blonde hair and blue eyes. But it wasn’t so bad; their unnaturally long lives made it rather easy to search out such an individual, and gave them forever to find someone they could be loyal to.
“That is a shame.” Adonai admitted in a bland voice. “If one was to ever fall in love, it would most surely be in vain. The chances that you would accidentally find a suitable mate by your families standards and foster a relationship are quite rare, if not entirely impossible.” Adonai herself never thought of such things—she was perfectly fine living out life alone, and did not need to have offspring. Her life was long enough, she didn’t need ties and responsibility for her own blood—her students gave her enough of that!
Sahra really didn’t understand. Her head was cocked to one side as she thought. “I get the purity part, but I guess when it comes to relationships and love, I am at a total loss.” She laughed nervously, “Guess it never really interested me. I don’t know anything else other than it’s moral to be monogamous!”
Ephrem nodded, “Having a ‘one-and-only’ like they say on TV, and in your Shakespeare books, Srra.”
“Yes kids, faithfulness and loyalty to a significant other, but more importantly to ones friends are very important—if not the most important aspect of life you could ever undertake. Remember that! And only do unto others as you wish to have unto yourself.” Adonai couldn’t help but to throw a morality lesson into almost every prevalent discussion she had with her charges.
“In the meantime, how about some sparing practice while we wait for the moving truck, you two? Sah needs more work with her chains, and Ephrem, you just need more work in general.” Of course she spoke jokingly, poking fun at the lindworm. Although it was not entirely false, he did need more practice if he was ever to defend himself properly. He was all about charging and biting, whipping around and using speed to his advantage. That was all good and practical, but when a situation arose he did not have those advantages, such as when being tied or held down, he would not know how to react.
“Let’s go!” Sahra screamed happily, yanking at Ephrem before he had a chance to retaliate.
This new house, no, new life would be a lot of fun!

Teen Form Participants: Sahra Sahra is trying to find new ways to cope with her questions, rather than locking herself away she is finally taking charge. Growing to be more than said 'hand-full,' even Ephrem is beginning to have trouble keeping tabs on her, Yin still manages to keep him under control, collar, chores, and a whole other list of to-do's. Spontaneous, the cheetah can never be found in one place for long or in the same place unless it is set times for her soccer leagues or one-on-one lessons with her bow with Adonai. Otherwise she's out with her new friends jamming out to her MP3 in an arcade somewhere. Aja is doing the best he can, but he's not really the type meant to be a parent. He is very laid back and allows her to pretty much do as she pleases, as his parents were strict he believes she deserves all the freedom he never had. If he isn't sunning himself his nose is usually to far buried in a historical document of some assortment or writing some kind of dissertation to notice what's going on in his own home. He thanks what ever god may be watching that Sahra at least hasn't quite surcease to the 'bad-a**' attitude a variety of teenagers take on. No damaging property, tattoos, or rebellion. Just a far more bold attitude, three pairs of earrings, a strange sense of style, short hair, and a few snippy comments here and there. Aja is even proud that Sahra is almost able to beat him 5 times out of 10 when it comes to bow stringing and arrow placement. What more could a parent ask for? A less protective and more well behaved dragon, perhaps?
