James laughed, waving his hand dismissively. "Don't worry." he said, then grinned.
"Not in the least. It's hard to offend me, but trust me, you'll know when you did." he said.

It did take quite a lot, and it would have to be a vicious insult towards him, his family, or a loved one...even someone he just worked with a lot. That, and other things, like mass murderers without remorse, and rapists, also happened to get him a little peeved.

Ansley smiled. "For a minute there, I thought I did." She leaned back in her chair and took out her PDA. Looking around the room, she observed the faces surrounding her, and looked them up quickly on it. She didn't need to know much about each person, but there was always some good spring cleaning to do.

Lily was about to answer James's question with a witty remark about the different types of serial killers, but she was inturrpted by people coming in. She looked around at all the people and counted in her head. Criminals: Herself, Lora, and Kichi were present. FBI...well agent people: James, Ansley, and Angela. That made three and three...which equals six. Everyone had to be there now. So where was Chris? Damn...Did that mean that more people were coming? She mildly paid attention to the conversations, not really caring too much to really listen in on what was going on. She looked over at Ansley and James with a small smile. By the looks of it they were getting along quiet well. Too well in Lily's mind but if they really wanted to try on-the-job dating then that was all up to them.

((Demon...that means that Lily would piss James off? She thinks killing is fun^^))

[Well, yeah xD I think it'd make for some interesting characterization.]
-----
James shook his head. "Nope." he said simply, looking around the room again. What was going on here? Why had he gotten no information? For that matter, no one seemed to know what was going on.

After a few more minutes of waiting, he couldn't take it anymore. Out came his phone, and, making sure not a single person could see the keypad, he very rapidly typed in a number, and lifted the phone to his ear. There was no immediate answer.
"Colt." he said simply. At that, the voice of his boss spoke, asking him what was wrong.
"I'll tell you what's wrong..." he began, and got up, leaving the conference room to continue the call outside.

Christopher
~Director of FBI~

((Yay for seperate posts!!! And I agree. Maybe I should make an NPC profile for Christopher...Then I would have to think...Well for now I won't...maybe later.))

Chris passed James in the hallway. "Don't take too long..." he stated as he walked into the conference room. Six people were missing but Chris was working on that. Still he decided that the ones already in the conference room deserved to know what was going on. He would just have to repeat it when the other six arrived. He waited until James made his way back into the conference room before starting. "Hello everyone. Most of you know me but for those that do not: I am Director Christopher. I know you all are wondering why I have gathered you here..." "Yea! Why are we here?" Chris sighed. Of course Lily would open her big mouth. "Shut it. Anyway I have brought you all here to begin a new chapter in the FBI. Each of you have a very important skill, wheither your obtained this skill through legal means or not is not important. What is important is that you all have skills that the FBI need. We have too many unsolved cases so it was decided that we would pull from the best and try and get these cases solved. I know you all have noticed that we have an even number of ex-criminals and FBI agents...with the exception of our one NSA agent...There are still three of each missing at this moment. Each FBI agent will be responsible for keeping tabs on one ex-criminal. And for each of you who have just come here from jail...If you mess up at all you will find yourself back in jail...only for a lot longer than you were before. I will address everything else when the others get here. Yes Lily..." Lily had raised her hand high in the air and was waving it like mad. "Does this mean that we are official FBI agents?" He shook his head. "Not official FBI agents...only like a liaison to the FBI..." "So...does that mean that we get badges?" Christopher sighed. Lily got on his nerves. That was one reason he liked her being behind bars. But she was suspected of killing eleven other people besides the two they convicted her of. She was one of the smartest criminals in the history of...well history. "I guess...if it will make everyone happy...Now I have a meeting to attend to. I will be back so don't go anywhere..." With that he left.

James had been about to ask about what he was doing here, when a young looking man walked past him, and informed him to not take long. James had to bite back a retort, seeing the badge on the man's belt, and the way he carried himself. So this was the director...he looked to be about James' age. Strange.

He hung up the phone and stepped inside, taking his seat from before. He leaned back in it and listened to Chris speak. He opened his mouth to speak, to ask a question, but before he had the chance, Chris walked out.
Annoyed, he bit back a retort, and instead voiced something else, looking to each criminal in turn.
"Now, you may all be criminals, but I want you to know one thing: I find those terms unfair. "If you mess up at all you will find yourself back in jail, only for a lot longer"?" he repeated. "Does he mean if we can't solve the case? That's...not exactly fair, even for criminals."

When James had called his boss, Ansley assumed from the tone James used, she eyed him carefully on his way out. Looking at her PDA, which had black files on James up at the moment, she found some...interesting details. Only a few moments later, Chris walked in. As always, she gawked a little on the inside, and put away her PDA.

Never interrupting, or any sign of communication out of respect for Chris, she listened. Her jaw dropped at what he had said, but she closed it quickly. After his speech, she scowled at him as he left. Upon hearing what James said, she agreed, but also thought that James didn't completely understand. "What Chris means," she addressed James, "is not that at all. It's if the criminals screw up-you know make sure nothing goes right or try to get away or anything like that, they land back in jail." She didn't think she made sense, but that was as clear as it would get, she was so pissed.

Lora sat back in her seat a wide grin on her lips. She had a lot of questions but one thing was for sure... She was going to be given a kick a** FBI badge... And she would use that badge to get free stuff from convenience stores and dinners. It would be Awesome!
"Chris is an a**. But he's not that big of an a**. He wouldn't toss me back into lock up unless I tried to screw over a case... or I took his keys... Ha. Again."
Lori had spend some time with Chris during the investigation that led to her own imprisonment. At the time she didn't know he was so high up in the FBI, but after a point it was pretty clear.
"So... Do I get to act like a regular person again? Can I leave right now? Just for a walk I'll be back. Soon...ish... Do I get a car? A yellow car? An apartment? Where are they going to put us up? Do I get my own apartment?"

(( crying I'm so sorry! I didn't mean to forget you guys. I feel horrible. I'm here now though. Forgive me please?? I'm so so sorry.))

Zack wandered the FBI room. He was supposed to help, but forgery crimes seemed to be easily solved as of late, making him useless, but he longed for the next case. He'd done one case so far, tracking the creator back by the printing of their machine and knowing the back story to it, he was able to track down the scum bag. Though he felt slightly hypocratic taking down one of his own. It kept him out of jail. So it was the best deal for him. And living for yourself was safe and pleasant.

"Maybe that's what it is, but still...so far as I know, no one here chose this job. I got to my desk this morning, and Rachel told me the boss wanted to see me. Ten minutes later, I'm on the interstate, coming here." James said, shrugging.

He looked over at Lori almost in disbelief. This girl was...incredibly hyper, for a thief. When he thought of thieves, he always had two images in his head: the calm, collected, but cold burglar, and the less realistic, dashing rogue type thief with a penchant for womanizing...but still down to earth.

Kelsey was led through the FBI building to the room everyone was meeting in. As she was moving around, her eye's were flickering around, memorizing the layout of the rooms and hallways around her. Even after being in prison for a year she hadn't lost touch of her instincts. Though She had been out of sorts with her informants. She let a small sigh out as she wondered what she had missed. They stopped at a door that Kelsey assumed was their stop. Giving her 'guards' a sweet smile, she walked passed them and opened the door. Pausing just inside the door she cataloged the people in there. She instantly noticed that she had heard of several of the people. The criminals. She smiled as she nodded to them. So those are the famous ones I'd heard about, she thought to herself. With a small smile she turned her eye's to examine the other people, people who she assumed were FBI or agents of some sorts. She was slightly annoyed at the fact of the system, because she didn't know who they were. Returning her attention to the entire group she said, "Hello there, I'm not late am I? There was a mix up when I was picked up." She moved to one of the chairs and sat down in it, leaning back in it slightly.

((Yay! I can post again! Sorry been SUPER busy. Finals hit last week and the new tri this week. Then yesterday we had a mini blizzard... kicked off the internet for a while there. Good news is we gotz lotz o snow now biggrin ))

James looked over at the door when it opened, following the girl with his eyes while she came in. She looked much too young to be in prison...then again, looks could be deceiving, as he learned from Lori, who was apparently an expert thief...but didn't exactly give off those vibes.

"A little late. Not by much." he said casually. "We just learned why we're here...we, as in this group, are to work together on cases these guys can't solve. That reminds me..." he looked around the room.
"How do we know which one we're keeping an eye on?" he asked out loud. He hoped he wasn't stuck with Lori...that would be "fun", and not exactly his kind.

"Hm, well that sounds... Interesting." Kelsey said as she thought that over. Oh well, better than prison. Then hearing his other question, she looked at him with an amused smile, "I'm sure your director has already paired your lot up with one of us. And if he hasn't, maybe you'll get lucky and pick randomly from a hat." She crossed her arms on the table in front of her and then laid her head on her arms, wondering what will happen now. She was thoroughly bored.

Lora sat up and looked over at J.C.
"Yo J.C. You and me should be a team! We'd be great together. Just Awsome!"
The young woman winked playfully then glanced around the conference table. He did seem like the most fun. No one else would get her jokes... And boy did she have a lot of jokes to tell.

"Great fun." James said casually, not betraying his true feelings on the proposition, which was that he would sooner quit this group than work with her...not because he hated her, but he had a feeling that her humour would start to get on his nerves after a little bit.

"I think we'll be paired up based on our specialty...for example, I work for the NSA, so something tells me I won't be working with say...a thief. Sorry, Lori. I feel it will be someone like a computer hacker, or someone who knows a lot of other someone's, you know?"
