Profile: Once upon a time a brave warrior fell in love with a beautiful maiden and they were married in a grand wedding ceremony. Soon after the wedding the beautiful woman became pregnant and she and the warrior joyfully looked forward to the birth of their first child. But this is where the fairy tale ends and grim reality sets in. The woman died bringing the child into the world. The warrior, while grieving the loss of his wife, loved the child dearly and even though it was a female, brought her up as if she were his own son, teaching her skill with a sword and various other weapons. In this way their bond grew, she the precious little sparrow and he the wise guiding wind on which she flew. His death turned the child's world Upside-down leaving her with only her memories of him and a comb that had belonged to her mother.
Suzume came to the valley when she was very young, and while she is not related by blood to Zuko and his family, she was practically raised by them, joining in with Ziyala for firebending training, strategy practice, and history lessons. In this way, Ziyala became her greatest rival and her best friend.
For a while after Ziyala grew up and had her children, Suzume felt very alone and began to seek adventure as an escape from her misery and loneliness. It was this desire for adventure that led Suzume along with many other ponys on a quest to save the dragon's eggs. Suzume managed not to help save the eggs, but she also gained a new friend on the journey. A baby colt released by a water spirit, a little whirl wind named Kaze, has became the new focus for Suzume's life.
