Lee nodded, pushing herself out of her chair and heading for the bedroom, not thinking for a second about taking care of her own plate. Pushing the door open, she saw that Lynn had finished her nap, and was sitting up, clinging to the bunny she'd been given. Had she not moved at all this entire time? Lee walked over and sat at the edge of the bed, not really wanting to be the first person to talk to the little girl. Two things that made her incredibly uncomfortable were children and grieving people, and Lynn was both of these. This silence between them really didn't help matters.

Rory cleaned up the kitchen and headed for the bedroom, staying at the doorway when he saw Lynn was awake. "Sleep well, lass? Are you hungry? I saved some dinner fae you."

Lynn shook her head, answering all his questions at once with a single gesture. And after that, she was silent again.
Lee rubbed her cheek, holding back a sigh, not wanting to upset the girl further. She was so out of her element here, and didn't know what to say. "Wanna get some jammies on now? I bet your dress is kinda uncomfortable, hm?" She tried her best to sound semi-supportive, though sounded more uncomfortable than anything.
Lynn just looked down at her bunny, clinging to it tighter.

Rory gestured for Lee to get one of her t-shirts as he came to sit down next to Lynn. "Alreet, baby girl. How about w' get ready fae bed, eh?" He patted her hair gently.

"Do I go'ssa sleep in here?" Lynn frowned, not looking up to see Lee's matching frowning and somewhat annoyed face. "I wanna sleep with mama..." The little girl's eyes were fixed on Rory now, and she pushed the covers off of her and crawled toward the boy before hopping off the bed and waddling to his side.
Lee rolled her eyes as she stood and headed for the closet, finding four different shirts for the girl to choose from. One pink, one purple, one yellow, and one blue. Surely one of these were the girl's favorite color.

Rory sighed softly. "Sweetie, your mum ain't comin'. You gotta stay wi' us fae now. Look, Lee has some shirts fae you t' pick from on what t' wear t'night an' t'morrow, she'll take you shoppin'. Would you like tha'?" He patted the girl's little back, moving to sit her on the bed next to him so she could see Lee and the shirts.

As soon as she was set down, Lynn crawled into Rory's lap and looked over the shirt selection, attempting to look less interested than she was. "Tha' one... The lellow one." She tugged at the yellow shirt, clinging to it as soon as Lee offered it to her.
So, favorite color, check. All her other favorites, still unknown. It might help to keep track of all this with Lauss. It might help for the essentic to meet the girl, too. But he either wasn't home or he was hibernating at the moment. He tended to do that lately...

Rory smiled at the little girl. "Lee's gonna help you change clothes an' get ready fae bed, little one." He nudged her out of his lap gently so he could get up. He went over to the chest to rummage in a drawer to get some pajama bottoms out.

Lynn stood, shifting her weight a bit as she seemed to be debate over letting Lee help her change or not. She made an exasperated grumbling noise as she wandered closer to Lee, apparently willing to accept her help for tonight. This dress wasn't easy to get out of on her own...
Lee held back a smile at being accepted as she quickly got to work undoing the buttons along the back of the dress. Lynn was relatively un-squirmy the entire time, and Lee couldn't help but be proud of herself after the job was done and she tugged the yellow shirt over the girl's head. Standing back and looking the small child over, she couldn't keep an amused smile off of her face. "You like yellow because it looks nice on you, don't you?" After the girls nod, Lee's smile widened. Smart girl... She ushered Lynn over to the bed again, helping her hop on top of it as they wait for Rory to get ready.
"I'm 'posed to brush my teef and wash my face a'fore sleeping..." the little girl announced before hopping off the bed and waddling over to the bathroom, seeming to look for her toothbrush.

Rory looked back at them, frowning a bit. "Ah, lass, w' ain't got a toothbrush fae you yet. Just fae t'night, it'll be alreet if'n you skip tha'. Lee an' me will take you shoppin' t'morrow an' you can pick out a new toothbrush." He gathered his pajamas and headed to the bathroom, scooting around the little girl before shutting the door and hoping Lee would keep her busy since there was no lock.

Lynn shook her head in protest and tried to reach the door knob to the bathroom, standing on her toes and stretching so she could get back in the bathroom.
"Um, no...? No. Hey, get over here. Gotta wait your turn, you can't just walk in on people when they're changing." She didn't get a pleasant response from the tiny child, and frowned as the little girl started to pout. "Rory'll be out in a second..." Sheesh, moody little girl... Oh, right, she'd just been abandoned. Lee supposed she should try to be a bit nicer. "What'd your old room look like?" Conversation with a three year old was strange and uncomfortable.
The little girl plopped down and folded her legs up, still pouting, but somewhat willing to answer the other's question. "Lossa pink. I dinnint wants it, but mama did." She'd wanted a yellow room, but no... Oh, now she missed her stuffed animals. It was hard not to cry over such a loss. She waddled over to the bed and picked up her bunny again, her only stuffed animal now, and clung to it.

Rory sauntered out after a moment, bare chested but in pajama bottoms now. He padded over to the closet and set his boots down before tossing his dirty clothes in the hamper. Looking at Lee and the girl, he sighed a bit, features softening, as he watched Lynn with the toy. "E'erythin' alreet out here?"

Lee shrugged, answering him with a, "Yeah, I guess." Standing, she had to refrain from clinging to the boy, keeping her distance while there was a small child in the room. "You're sleeping on the couch, then?" The words forced her to frown, but she quickly masked it as she looked over to Lynn, not sure if the little girl would willingly sleep in the same bed as her. Then again, it was either sleep with Lee or sleep alone. Neither seemed too pleasant, but Lee figured the little girl could use the company.

"Yeah. Ain't proper fae me t' stay in here wi' you two an' w' cannae put her on th' couch. Not fair t' kick Lauss out o' his room, either," Rory said, walking over. He scooped Lynn up, tickling her tummy playfully before setting her on the bed. Pulling the covers back, he gestured for the girl to get in bed so he could tuck her in. "Alreet, lass. You're gonna stay in here wi' Lee t'night. She'll keep you warm, okay?"

After a moment of held back giggles from the tickling, Lynn's only response to Rory's words was a short, "Mmm." It was more a grumble than anything, but she pulled herself under the covers as Rory wanted her to do.
Lee shuffled over to the other side, glad, once more, that they had a large bed. No clinging to her tonight, okay Lynn? Hopping in bed and burying herself under the bedsheets, she turned her back from the little girl, leaving Rory to deal with her while he was still around. It would be an awkward and lonely night with Rory being replaced with a moody little girl that disliked her.
