I shall now demonstrate the Law of Sacae
Tribesmen fighting with all they have for the sake of one another!

~)Sue(~

Sue was surprised to be approached by another archer, a redhead by the looks of it, but she didn't recognize him. The nomad had to sadly shake her head. Maybe he was in the struggle in the Guild Anniversary number Three, but so much happened then that her mind was clouded from the incident. "I'm... sorry, sir, I don't know you personally." She said aloud, to the most polite voice she could to the Crimean mercenary sniper before joining in the reunion of all the dragons of Learania.

Shinon looked down with disappointment. He couldn't remember anything, and he didn't recognize anyone. He sighed to himself and sat down again.

Tristai

PostPosted: Mon Oct 05, 2009 6:37 pm

"Hmm? Oh, Victoria..." Tristai played with the ends of her black shawl, and for the first time realized she was standing near Arashe. She turned her head towards the current object of Victoria's unending affection.

"I don't believe we've been introduced, Arashe. I'm Tristai." She flicked her head, to get her hair off of her shoulders. Her hair betrayed the covered eye she was ever over conscious of, and she quickly ran her fingers through the front of her hair, pretending she was simply finger combing her hair momentarily. She had been especially aware of her affliction due to a recurring dream she'd begun to have at the beginning of the Harvest season.

I was blessed with the gifts of the goddess, so show me respect!
It's not every day that you stumble across a rarity like me.

₪Victoria₪

And Tristai walked closer to her, now to Victoria's pleasant surprise! To see the two of her closest allies in her crusade to keep her homeland safe was more than enough she could ask for. The bishop gave Tristai a friendly pat on the shoulder, now grinning cheek to cheek. "Well, well, don't you look elegant?" The bishop chuckled slightly, not imagining her horse-riding comrade one for dresses at all. "I dare say it suits you, Tristai."

In the meantime, she was awaiting the Rangers to actually introduce each other. She knew them both to be quite good with their manners, so it wasn't like she'd have to worry about a brawl breaking out much like earlier. "Really... both your costumes are perfect." she complimented her allies with delight.

Become my enemy and you'll be purged, and dead you shall stay.

So he wasn't completely invisible after all.

In that corner where he sat and sipped wine, a young woman had chosen to accompany the mage with a need for chatter and the acquaintance of someone with a vaguely noble bearing. Clearly, that woman hadn't seen Arashe, otherwise she would have gone off to speak with the marksman instead. But the darkly-adorned brooder contemplating all by himself in the corner wasn't something to pass up.

Soren shared a soft chuckle with the woman. She appeared to be of a noble house, attending the party to honor their guest and the new harvest. Others nearby cared not to spare a passing glance for the two, caught up in their own experiences, their own conversations. Some still had the two in the corners of their eyes, but dismissed the mage and noblewoman as mere strangers.

He raised his wine glass, nearly empty in a friendly gesture. The woman was laughing at some obscure topic that they were discussing, presumably of a pleasant nature that would tickle the standard noblewoman's fancy, a note evident in the light fairy-tones of her voice. As she chattered on like the pixie she resembled, Soren's ruby eyes traveled the great hall. The burgundy veiled every intention behind an almost glass-like gaze.

He watched each individual impassively. Even the ones he knew did not gain any recognition from him, no sign or show of friendliness. Rath, Ninian, Nils, Ed, Heath, Alihi, the Fire Dragon. The mage downed the rest of his wine in one gulp and placed it on the nearby table. He excused himself for a moment, to which the woman delightedly bobbed her head, and the shadow slunk off toward the center of everything.

This time there were no tricks. Perhaps it was because at least one eye was always on him, whether it was out of someone's eye or from a mere glance. But he strode on like a normal person. He kept to himself, silent, calculating, watching. Soren passed by right behind Sue, right behind Shinon, right behind an Impersian and a crimson-haired Magvellian swordmaster. He passed by Heath and by Ephraim. For a moment the mage stood among the crowd closest to the chieftain's party, gazing through and observing the persons in said group, and then he slunk off.

Soren returned to his original spot and found a man had joined them. Immediately he put on a slight smile, bowed to the man, and sat down to refill his drink while the man and noblewoman chatted eagerly about meaningless, insignificant things. Things that would soon be as empty as a wren's bones.

"That's great, Kaoru!" Ninian and Roy would become FD's extended family after the wedding that seemed to be going nowhere in planning. FD decided he would strive to look after them as he did Nils.

"Hello, Ninian. Uh, good to see you." He turned his head to wave to her. It seemed they'd never had much of an oppurtunity to get to know each other, despite everything that had happened between them at the Dragon's Gate. That did make things awkward between them. but given their histories, there was so much they could talk about with each other that they couldn't with other people; they were both Dragons!

Dietrich of Isaac

PostPosted: Mon Oct 05, 2009 7:24 pm

User ImageThe click of steel boots heralded the arrival of the one and only Dietrich of Isaac, who in his few short weeks in Learania had already succeeded in being fined for drunk and disorderly conduct six times, which he had fortunately coaxed his good friend Arashe into paying for him.

Dietrich also didn't have a job. Of course, he was always looking for mercenary work, but tended to get his butt handed to him frequently enough that his reputation was just a tad shaky.

The tactless Isaacian made his way into the room, looking around sharply. He appeared to be dressed in his training clothes, which meant some usher was getting fired. He was in no way or shape in something one could describe as "formal".

His tattered scarf waving around his neck, he shook himself and stepped away from the doors, out of the breeze coming in from outside. Slowly, he reached upward and stretched, groaning and bringing his hand down into his hair, scratching his scalp vigorously before grabbing a glass off a passing waiter's tray. "That's more like it. Now where the hell's-- aha!" He grinned and walked right through the crowd, most of which scrambled to get out of the way of the scruffy, wiry young man and shot him a variety of dirty looks before they resumed their dancing.

"Arashe!" he called as he approached the corner into which his friend had ensconced himself. He tossed back the glass of whatever-alcohol-that-was and grabbed another from another passing waiter. "What the hell, man? I see you walking to the party, all dudded up and soon as you see me coming you way, you take off down an alley! I was lost for like half an hour trying to find you, finally found my way back to main street and just came here, and you're already here yourself? What, now you've got all these new friends, we can't hang out?"

Of course, it couldn't possibly be the fact that Arashe didn't want to walk in with a total slob.

Of course not.

Dietrich glanced at Victoria, and a dim bulb of recognition went off. "Oh, hey, you're the... that blonde lady. I remember you." To Tristai, he flashed a smile. "Oh, and we have... not met, so far as I can remember. Which actually leaves a lot of time for us to have met. I'm Dietrich."

Please don't be ashamed whether you win or lose...
... I just want you to know that I'm proud of you.

Alihi laughed. Oh, the nervousness never seemed to get old. She enjoyed teasing, though she never once meant any harm. In her mind, it was more like she was... helping others accept their feelings. "Impossible? Ephraim, things like that are hardly impossible~" Something in the back in her mind said that there was something special about this girl. After all, why else would Ephraim be stuttering and blushing over a simple comment?

She was about to continue the teasing when she saw Rath approach them. The tactician blinked, remaining quiet as he spoke. He wanted to introduce someone to her? Who? Why? Alihi shook the questions off and smiled politely. "Of course." She took one more look back at Amara and Ephraim before turning towards Rath and following him to the crew table.

Amara blinked up at Ephraim as he set her down on the ground. What was going on? There were too many names and faces for Amara to understand the situation! She looked in the direction Alihi headed off in and shook her head slightly. No, she wanted to go find her uncle Aki! So, she headed off in the opposite direction in search of that familiar face, Ephraim's hat still perched on top of her head.

The sounds of laughter and talking were heard from the FEF Ball room. "All of em are so tall...." Fa thought to herself as she pushed through the crowd to see if she can find anyone she recognized. Fa saw long black hair and sharp red eyes and knew who it was. It was her older brother Soren talking to some lady Fa had never seen. Fa smiled from cheek to cheek and started running towards her beloved brother with arms speread out open wide she cried, "Soren~" as she wrapped her arms around his waist and buryed her face into his robe.
PostPosted: Mon Oct 05, 2009 8:02 pm

The man and noblewoman with whom Soren had been conversing quickly paused as a small girl squeezed her way past. Soren glanced down at the figure, his face apathetic rather than falsely contented at the moment, and as soon as he recognized the hair and small posture his face changed to that of a brotherly one. The mage picked Fa up and set her in his lap.

Soren swatted at the golden adornment hanging from his ear for a moment, the light glinting off of his amulet. Fa might notice that he seemed like a new man: a seemingly fresh set of unmarred robes, not a single tear or rip in sight, an odd velvet quality to his gaze and pale skin that he had not possessed for a whole year. Perhaps he took on this quality around Hallow's Eve. Or perhaps it was something else.

"This is my little sister," he said to the others around him. His voice was normal, yet it sounded...well, it just sounded different somehow. The noblewoman let out a sound of delight and remarked on how adorable Fa was. The other man merely nodded, taking another draught of wine. Soren then glanced down at the manakete with that gentle smile of his.

"I'm so sorry, Fa. It's been so long. Your older brother has been so busy with all his research — the library practically swallowed him up, you see."

He brushed a few locks of hair away from her face. The mage glanced up again, critically watching the others in the great hall. How they danced, how they talked. So joyful. So ignorant. So nervous...

"Oh yes, she's a wonderful girl," Soren suddenly added as the noblewoman made another remark. "A rare specimen. You won't find any like her." The mage rubbed her head with his hand, putting on an apologetic. "I do apologize, Fa. I would have liked to give you a gift." He flicked at the golden earring that swung from his ear, as though to suggest he'd wanted to give her a bit of jewelry.

The noblewoman suddenly jumped up, wanting to explore the rest of the place, and the other man opted to go with her. They bade the mage and manakete farewell. Soren picked up his wine glass and raised it to them in a farewell.

"Fa...how have you fared?"

On the way back to the table, Rath glanced back at Alihi, out of the corner of his eye. His interaction with her was at an acquaintance level at best, but knew of her talents quite well. And he wasn't blind, either. That is, not blind to see the people she was close to. He knew Abel fairly well... whether he was happy about it or not, it could not show. Seeing them interact gave the impression they had become friends.

Now, he had been told he came off as cold or scary. In his inspection of other people, he noted that it was a time like this where 'small talk' was started. Obviously, his follower would not be the one to initiate it, given that he was the one she would have to talk to. Thus, he made an attempt at it himself.

"I heard you moved out of Eyris..." He started. "Curious. Another lad I know stopped coming to Eyris around the same time. I haven't seen him in the city since. A coincidence, I'm sure." Of course, it clearly came off as a statement one would hear while being interrogated for information, but Rath was none the wiser of such presumptions upon speech. He was simply trying to not come off as cold, a reaction from advice he was given.

Looking over, Ziaram noticed Ephraim, and went over to go talk to the lord, since he hadn't gone over and talked to Ephraim in some odd time. "How fares it?"

Amara ran off in a hurry in a direction he didnt' quite recognize. He hoped she wasn't running off to talk to some random stranger and..Hey, she still had his hat..Ah well. Ephraim will have to remember to get it back from her next time. As long as she took good care of it, he didn't mind where it ended up......well...ok he did.

His attention was soon nabbed by some one he didn't quite really recognize..or know for that matter. ""...How fair is what?" Ephraim questioned, not really understanding why this person acting like he knew him. "Um..forgive my rudeness...but have we met before..?" he was obviously confused. He felt like he should know him..but something wasn't quite clicking.

(If I recall, Nometal was the one who ran into Ephraim >_>;;; unless your suggesting Nometal and Ziaram are the same person then that's just confusing)

"Fa understand big brothah. Fa went out to find Sowen's Goddess! Look!" Fa exclaimed as Fa dug in her new silk dress pocket and pulled out a beautifully crafted Rose and held it up to Sowen. "It's Fa's new dragonstone! Goddess Ashera made it for Fa." she gleamed as she held it she felt light-headed and passed out onto Soren's new robes after traveling a long distance to get here.
