When you start conducting to every song you hear. Even if you're not a drum major.

You want a vibraphone for Christmas, and the ONLY reason your parents won't get it for you is because it costs $3,000.
...My friend just commented on my telling her this on AIM, saying 'I'd rather spend that on a car!' Which brings me to this:
You know you're a band geek when you'd rather get an instrument of your own than a car of your own. heart

ugprince1 When you get mad at non band members for prenouncing your instruments name wrong. (or any instrument for that case) I agree! What pisses me off the most is, "You play the oboe, right?" I get it all the freaking time. I play bassoon.

when you graduate wearing your drillmasters, and are proud of that fact.
our drum major did that last year.
when you can sing your entire show from freshman year, from memory, with all the correct parts.
when you clap in odd rhythms as applause.

when you spend time on a non-band trip figuring out time signatures, keys, and how to conduct various songs - classical or rock.
when you go into the music library and gleefully begin searching for your favorite music and then conducting them as they play in your head.

(I want a $3500 horn (I'm a horn player, i GET to spend a lot on instruments) and it's considered as big of a purchase as a car is. XD) On a related note: When the instrument you want costs more than your car.
