t h e r a n d o m l o n e rBrandon finished off the last of his rice nodded when she said she had to go in at six. He didn't finish till eight tonight.
Their mini outing was definitely appreciated, and needed, to say the least. The lack of time they spent together was beginning to prove a slight strain on their relationship.
"Yeah, kind of," he said, wishing he didn't have to get back to work so soon. He looked over at the waiter, who somehow already figured out that he wanted the bill and walked over and handed it to him. Brandon looked at the cost and pulled his wallet out of his pocket and picked out whatever big notes he had in there and place them on small plate with the bill. He stood up and walked over to Annah's side and held his hand out to get them on their way.
"Ready?" he asked with a slightly hint of a smile and a quiet sigh.

Annah groaned. "Right. Stupid work." One day, she hoped they'd be able to spend more time together.
"Babe, I have a lot of tips from last night. Take your money back." She stood up, smiling at him as she took the ones out of her pocket and counted them out.
"Seri--" Her eyes bugged, her stomach was suddenly twisting in tight knots. Annah looked around before running off towards the bathroom, which ended up being the mens bathroom, and she was hunched over in one of the stalls, throwing up everything she had just eaten.
Chinese was not good when it came back up. Not at all.

t h e r a n d o m l o n e rBrandon smiled and went to push her money back. "It's fine-." but before she put another word in she suddenly looked a lighter shade of white. Or green? And with that she ran off into the nearest bathroom.
Brandon stood up as she did and watched her go, confused as ********. The waiter came over. "Is she okay?" Brandon shuffled the money into the center of the table. "Keep the change." he said quickly, before making his way towards the bathroom.
He found Annah there on the floor, hunched over a cubicle, recovering from what looked like her guts emptying themselves. Without thinking he knelt down next to her and moved her hair out of her face and, rubbing her back.
"Hey, hey, Annah, it's alright," He held her hair back and kept his hand on her back as she threw up again. "Listen, we have to go to a doctor okay? I'll drive us tonight. I'll take the rest of today and tomorrow off, and call you in sick." he said calmly, hoping she wouldn't argue this one. He may have looked calm, but inside he was dying of worry.
Sure, it may just be food poisoning, she had a lot that he didn't have, or sure, it could still be her body getting used to being without the medication, even though his body seemed to flush out any signs of medication weeks ago, heck it could just be a tummy bug, but for just a piece of mind, he wanted to know what was wrong now.
Thankfully, she seemed to be calming slightly. "You okay?" he asked quietly.

Annah hardly noticed someone was with her until she realized that her hair was no longer in her way. She was crying, coughing, and still throwing up when Brandon started talking.
"Mmmh.." She mumbled. But when he mentioned the doctor she shook her head. "No, Brandon. I'm fine." She insisted. And when he said they'd call in sick and take off of work she looked at him, dumbfounded.
"Are you crazy? We can't just drop wor--" She dry heaved a bit, starting to calm down now. "Work. We need money." She turned to sit on her butt, resting against the cool wall.
"Babe, I'm okay. This sorts of things just happen." But she knew Brandon could be stubborn if needed and when she opened her eyes to look at him, she saw pure worry.
"If you really need me to go to the doctor...I guess..." She sighed heavily.
Annah moved into his arms, her stomach ached, and her head was throbbing now. "Yeah," She mumbled. "Guess we should find out where the nearest-- We don't have health insurance." She groaned. "The bar doesn't offer it.."

 t h e r a n d o m l o n e rBrandon sighed quietly when she objected, saying they needed money.
"Don't argue with me on this one An." He held onto her as she moved closer to him and mumbled against his chest. No health insurance? Well the payment would be a b***h that was for sure. But he'd figure it out once they got there.
"It'll be fine. Lets just get you to a doctor first and worry about that later." he said firmly, not giving her room to protest. He got to his feet and gently pulled her up onto hers, and walked them out to the entrance of the restaurant. Luckily the restaurant was closer to their apartment than either of their work places, so it wasn't a long walk to the car.
Unlocking the doors he slipped into the drivers seat and started the engine, before pulling the map out from under his seat and quickly scanned over to find the nearest hospital as he waited for Annah to get in. After she got in, and he located the nearest one he could get to, they began on their way.
The drive was short lived and in under ten minutes or so they arrived at the hospital. Brandon parked up the car and killed the engine, getting out and opening Annah's door. He held out his hand and nodded his head towards the entrance of the hospital. "Come on, it'll be alright darlin. I promise." he said, hiding his own anxiety towards hospitals, knowing her fears of doctors and hospitals in general were slightly more extreme than his.

Annah was brought to her feet. "Worry about it later? Brandon, a hospital bill is going to be crazy expensive. We can't afford it.." She shook her head as she stumbled a bit.
She was just a tad light headed. "Even with extra amazing tips.." Her voice trailed off. He wasn't going to back down this time. Brandon was set in stone now that his mind was made up.
Annah let out a low sigh as he pulled her through the resteraunt and to the car. She got in slowly and rested her head against the cool window. It was a quick ride. Too quick.
She did not want to go in. But Brandon was at her door, holding his hand out to her. "It will not.." A million options raced through her mind. What could it be? Cancer? Everyone was getting it these days. What made her any different? Would she find out she was dying? God, that would have been a blessing a few months ago. But now, it was the last thing she wanted.
"I'm scared." She whispered as she stepped out of the car, squeezing his hand.
But he held her, taking her into the hospital. She signed herself in, then had to fill out a bunch of papers. No insurance. No money. They couldn't afford this at all. Annah was not one to be a worry wort, but she knew how expensive these kind of bills were. It wasn't cheap, by any means.
But she filled out the paperwork accordingly and they were eventually led back into a room. After checking her vitals and such the lady nurse headed for the door. "A doctor will be with you shortly."

 t h e r a n d o m l o n e rBrandon gave her hand a squeeze as she took it. "Yes it will. Come on."
They walked into the hospital and she filled out a bunch of papers and she was checked over by a nurse before they were led to the waiting room. Brandon sat down in the uncomfortable plastic chairs and looked at Annah next to him, noticing the increasing look of worry on her face. "Stop thinking up crap." he said quietly, with a small smile, knowing that every possible disease and illness was going through her mind right now. "Whatever it is, we'll be fine. Could just be a bug. So don't worry, alright?" he kissed her hand lightly.
He pulled out his phone and sent a text to they guys at work saying simply that he wouldn't be in tonight and possibly not tomorrow either. "I'm just gonna call the diner alright?" he said, letting go of her hand and getting up out of his seat and walking just outside the glass doors of the hospital.
Brandon typed in the diner's number and held the phone to his ear, waiting for the ring's to be cut off and a voice to answer. Finally a female voice answered.
"Hi, this is Brandon, Annah's boyfriend?" The voice on the other end seemed to light up, obviously knowing about him already. "Just letting you know, Annah's not gonna be able to make it to work tonight, she's not feeling too great," Brandon looked at Annah in the waiting room and gave a small smile. "Don't what she's got exactly, but she's probably just gonna need a shift or two off." he said. A doctor walked into the waiting room and Annah stood up as he began speaking to her. "Okay thanks, bye." he said into the phone, before hanging up and walking back inside to stand by Annah.

Annah huffed. Greaaaaat, a doctor. She loved doctors. Uhh not?
"Right, the bar." She corrected him. He always seemed to call it a diner, which techincally it was. But it was a diner with a bar, and mostly people came to get drunk. Not just have a dandy lunch.
She sat there, playing with her fingers nervously while Brandon left. But he was back soon, in the tiny exam room. The doctor, or thats who she assumed it was, knocked on the door and stepped inside.
"Annah?" Of course, he mispronounced her name. Referring to her as more of Anna, than Annah. But she didn't bother to correct him. "What seems to be the problem?" Annah sighed. "I've been throwing up a lot." She looked anywhere but at him. "And I've been lightheaded and my appetites weird.." She squeezed Brandons hand. "Well it says you were an various medicines about a month or so ago?" She nodded. "Such as anti-depressants.. ect?" She nodded again. "I thought that might be the cause.." He smiled at her, shaking his head a bit.
"Those pills withdrawl wouldn't last quiet this long. Have you ..." He looked at Brandon. "Tried a pregnancy test?"
She was strucken into silence.
No. There was no possible way in hell.

t h e r a n d o m l o n e rBrandon sat sort of semi-nervous while she spoke, and the doctor seemed to just sit and listen, clipboard in hand with the stupid patronising nod. As he began to go off in an annoyed tangent in his mind, something the doctor said suddenly triggered a stop in his thoughts and his heart skipped a beat. Could he repeat that...
The way the doctor was staring at him, he may as well have added a 'duh' on the end of that sentence. Throwing up, being hormonal, food cravings, were all major big hints, that the two of them had completely missed.
Pregnant. That had to be it. She was pregnant. ********, they had been safe! Like, doubly safe every time since... oh. HA. Brandon looked at Annah as he remembered that the first time they had sex wasn't exactly, planned as such, therefore, no protection.
Brandon looked back to the ground and suddenly felt ill. What the hell were they going to do. Would she want to keep it? Would she not?
The doctor spoke, breaking the silence, and Brandon flinched slightly- the silence had been so long he had almost forgotten where they were. The doctor pulled out a small rectangular box from his pocket, a pregnancy test, which he handed to Annah.
"Well, you seem healthy apart from your symptoms Anna, so a pregnancy very much sounds like it could be the cause of your recent changes in habit, but it's best to make sure." He stood up and looked again at the two shell shocked young adults in front of him. He pointed towards another door in the room. "There's a bathroom in there. I'll give you two a couple of minutes to think, and talk, and well, find out." he said, a little sympathetically, before leaving the room.
Brandon stared at the door after it was shut, then glanced at the box in Annah's hands. His mouth felt like sandpaper, and it didn't feel like he had been breathing for the last couple of minutes. He looked down at his hand, still with hers holding tightly onto it, but he could hardly feel it. He kept hold of her hand and gave it a squeeze.

Annah couldn't speak. She didn't breathe. She shook her head as the doctor set a box in her hand. She couldn't feel it, and had long forgotten her other hand was resting in Brandons.
"...Its not" Her voice broke and she stared at the tiny box in her hand. She felt sick to her stomach, the room was spinning, and before she knew it she was bursting into tears.
The doctor was gone and she felt her hand being squeezed slightly. What would he expect her to do? Abort it? Adoption?
They could barely afford to keep themselves alive at the moment, how could they afford a baby? It was like, 10,000 dollars just to have the kid! Factor in diapers, food, bottles, binkies, clothes, and a crib. Not to mention the doctor trips they would have to go through and everything.
"We were safe every--" It hit her too. They hadn't used any protection the very first time they had sex. She had been pregnant for that long? Almost two months?
How could she not have known? "I guess..I'll be back." Annah's hand fell from his as she made her way back to the bathroom. She squated over the toilet seat and she did what she had to do.
When she walked back into the doctors room, she was holding a stick. "It'll take a few minutes." She sighed, falling into the seat next to Brandon.
"What the ******** are we going to do if this has a little deadly pink plus sign?"

t h e r a n d o m l o n e r"Mhm." Brandon let go of her hand as she went to the bathroom, and then what felt like hours later, she came back out and sat next to him, stick in hand.
If she was pregnant, then she must be what.. 8 weeks nearly? He worked out in his head when the real symptoms started showing up, and annoyingly, it all started to make sense. He looked at her when she said something. He sighed and glanced at the little stick, knowing that in a minute or so it could be changing their lives forever.
Brandon took the stick gently from her and put it on the table in front of them, before turning in his seat to face her properly. "Whatever you want to do." he said resting his hand lightly over hers again for a second. "If, you are..., then a decision doesn't have to be made right now," he said, feeling his throat go dry. "But whatever you want to do, we'll do, okay?" he said calmly, or at least, in what he could pass for a calm voice.
He wondered whether it would be done by now, but either way, he daren't look, he just kept his eyes set on her.

Annah bit her bottom lip, her eyes welled with tears. "I didn't.. I wanna know.." She sighed, her stomach was tight.
She breathed out slowly, not bothering to look down at the stick just yet. She glanced to her side, looking Brandon in the eyes. She rolled her lips together, trying to compose herself. "I want to know what you want.." Her voice was soft.
"We'll make the decision together, but I want to know what you want. Upfront." She set the stick upside down on the patient seat thing. The doctor would be back in soon, surely with pamphlets and such.
God. This was such a mess. "I don't want to look at it until you tell me."

 t h e r a n d o m l o n e r Brandon's brows frowned and he shook he head slightly. "I don't know. I never thought about having kids. Ever."
He never thought about having a family of his own, mainly because he never thought he would have one. But now. Now that there was the big chance that it would be happening.. He didn't know how he felt.
His mind was going in fast forward, imagining what it would be like to have a kid with Annah. For one, he'd need a better job, she'd have to quit hers when she wasn't far off having it. They have to get a house of some sort. Not to mention pay for clothes, food, a crib, baby proofing stuff and an endless supply of diapers. He stopped thinking about how hard it would be for a second and just looked at her.
Everything they had done up till now hadn't been easy. But they had chosen it, to be together. It was hard, but he loved being with her, heck he had more love for her than he thought possible. And it all really started that one night in the grimy motel, and if there was a baby growing inside her right now, that was the outcome. That was something special.
His face was somewhat serious before he spoke, as if he was thinking. His usual expression, basically.
Brandon looked up at her. "I really don't know. It's a big thing to think about An." he looked at the pregnancy test facing down on the table, then back at her. "We just have to find out. And then, like, just think about it." he said softly. "What do you want?"

Annah's thoughts were flowing faster than ever, they couldn't have this kid. It wouldn't be fair to her or him. Their life was far from fabulous. Who would watch it? Where would it sleep? And eat? Diapers were so expensive..
It wasn't something to be thought about really. "Like I did. A few months ago I was living in garages and basements. I was on countless drugs and thought about death and ending everything.." She sighed. "Then I was in a looney bin for gods sakes." She shook her head. "I can't bring a child into this world. It just wouldn't be right.."
Annah reached for the stick, standing up as she did so. She pulled away from Brandon completely. She stood there, staring at the little stick that indicated their future. She was pregnant.
"Abortions expensive too ya know.." She whispered, biting her lips. She fell against the patient couch before breaking into a huge amount of tears. But before she could fall completely into vulnerabilty, she turned angry. "Why the ********> She was sobbing quickly and couldn't breathe before long.
"We can't do this." Annah muttered. She hated not being in control of this. [ haha i know what you mean! i had to like, stare at this screen FOREVER, to think of what to do. and even now, im not sure its quiet right.. what about our other rps? razz ]

t h e r a n d o m l o n e r Brandon picked up the stick after she had dropped it back down and let herself drop against the couch in frustration. He stared at the two little lines and forgot how to breathe for a second. She was pregnant. She was with child. His child.
A baby growing in her right this second, that could be theirs in a good 9 months.
He looked over at her, and clearly, she was not happy with this, and he needed to sort s**t out and quit being in his head.
Brandon placed the pregnancy test back on the table and went to kneel in front of his girlfriend, and feeling just as scared as she looked on the inside. He pulled her into a tight hug. Or, the 'bear hugs' as she called them. He never got why. He didn't exactly look like a bear. But apparently they were said hugs because of how warm and comfortably tight they were.
He felt her tears melt through into his shoulder and he stroked her hair lightly, letting her cry for a little. "It's gonna be okay." he said, knowing she'd probably flat out disagree. But it was just the kind of thing she would need to hear right now he guessed. "We'll figure something out okay?" He pulled back a little to look at her and wiped away her streaks of tears. "We still have time to figure this out." he said calmly, before giving her a brief kiss.
Just as he did so, a firm knock came at the door, before the doctor entered, peering his head in, again with that sympathetic expression on his face. Seeing the two of them as they were, he put on a small smile and walked in. Looking briefly at the pregnancy test, he sighed and leant on the table. Pulling a few leaflets out of his pocket he glanced at them briefly before offering them out. Brandon stepped up off his knees and took them.
"Now I know this is a big thing for you two, and it might be terrifying.." he started, looking between the two scared looking faces before carrying on. "But whatever you decide to do after today will probably change your lives, so please, read those, come in at any time with questions and for goodness sake- don't make any rash decisions." he said finally.
Brandon stared down at the first leaflet of the pile. It had a picture of a baby's face plastered on the front, with it's parents either side, smiling happily, portraying the oh-so-perfect family to be.
As if it was ever that good.. What a complete pile of BS.
