Damian moved in front of her so he could look into that frightened face. Still he blamed himself and thought he was the one who had failed, who had in a way put that terror in her eyes that was so old. But he could fix it this time.
Damian held her close to him, wordlessly expressing how much he was sorry and how much he loved her.

"I was scared I had lost you.... "She whispered so quietly, she scarcely heard herself as she embraced him back, burying her head into the curve of his neck, trying not to start up crying again.

"And I thought I had lost you," he whispered back so fervently. "I had whispered to nothing for so long, hoping you could somehow hear me. I had your sheets pulled back, had pajamas ready for when I thought you would come home, but that day... that day I had to put them back to rights, that was the hardest day of my life."
He was on the verge of tears again, but for the sake of preserving what little peace they had, Damian held back everything in a knot in his chest.

Raquel, hugged him tighter before pulling back to take his face in her hands, just studying his face, pulling in to caress his lips with her own. "I would never leave you intentionally Damian..always know that...that and I love you...so much..." Her voice caught as she pressed her forehead to his.
"...can you still love me now though?" She asked softly. "I cant explain it, but I'm not the same person anymore...Ifeel like theres this chunk of me missing...I dont know what it is but its just not there any more..." That hint of terror still held behind her eyes pleaded for reassurance that things would be ok. She knew it wasn't very fair for her to be the one asking for help at that time when Damian had been in emotional turmoil for a year, but she jut needed to hear her rock tell her it was going to be ok.

"Raquel," he said, pulling himself back just enough so that he could fit his hands around her face as well. With her small features surrounded by his palms, he felt like he finally had her spirit back in a more tangible way. "I adore you. I love you. You still have that fire within you if you made it back to me... So do not doubt for one moment that there is something that could make me change my mind."

Raquel locked eyes with him for am moment before finally closing them and smiling, placing her hands over his. "...Alright...I love you...." She opened her eyes up at him again, rubbing her cheek against his one hand, kissing it sweetly.
"Though...I must admit...I haven't eaten a decent meal in awhile...Mostly small bits here and there...I dont know how good my appetite is...but I am a little hungry..." She tried to smile more relaxed as she kept reminding herself this was real. She was safe now and everything was ok.

He smiled. Such a small request, and he could fulfill it... it was like the dog anxiously trying to appease the master out of love when given a chance.
"Name anything you'd like. Anything. I will have it delivered if need be!" Damian extended his hand out towards the window where the world of Druis lay, ready for his use should Raquel ask for something he didn't have waiting.

Raquel held up her hands, laughing a little nervously. "There you go, trying to buy my affections and happiness..." She smiled warmly, leaning in to kiss his cheek sweetly. "No, there's no need for trouble... just a sandwhich or some soup would be more than enough..." She promised, trying to edge herself off the bed. "I can get it..." She took a step towards the door, though stopped and turned around.
"...Though...could you go with me?" She asked, extending her hand as if a toddler afraid of the dark in the next room. "I-I mean...I haven't gotten to see the old place in a long time... I'd love to get a little tour to see whats changed..." she made the excuse, looking a little pink in the cheeks.

It hadn't even crossed his mind that she would go alone to get what she wanted for herself. Damian hopped out of bed in nothing but his boxers to take her hand with the closest thing to a smile he'd had in over a year. "Nothing's really changed..." he said as they went through the door and into the hallway. All he could really point out was how one of the guest bedrooms closeby had been changed into what seemed like a cat's paradise for Trinity. Cat towers and ramps, food dispensers, an automatic litterbox, everything was tucked away inside the one place.
"And she gets a very nice view of the grounds," he said with a smirk. "Those are what have changed the most. Nat saw to that."

Raquel had to laugh at the room ecspecially made for trinity. The three legged creature appeared, coming up, purring excitedly, recognizing the new person who was very familar to her. Raquel scooped her up, cuddling the little cat a bit, smiling as she looked up to Damian.
"Ah Nat! I need to see him eventually as well...everyone really..." She noted, turning to head back down towards the stairs, letting the little cat hop down. She glanced over at Damian, smiling lovingly, though her eyes seemed to focus around his neck, and she nearly teared up. She stopped in her tracks, her small hand going up to his bare chest, touching the chain around his neck lightly. The two rings on it glinted faintly in the dusk sunlight...

He stopped, too, when she touched the rings hanging around his neck. He only took them off to shower since the cheaper ring might have faded if kept in contact with soap and water, but what frightened him was the idea that his memories might begin to fade. the rings were constant reminders of everything they had gone through, and he never wanted to be away from it all.
"I could never let them go," he whispered. "I wasn't ready to let everything go into a box for memories..."

She swallowed a bit, looking back up at him. She broke her gaze only to look to the rings again, lifting them slightly with the chain, pulling him in so she could kiss them gingerly. "...God how I've missed you.... " She breathed, resting her forehead on his chest just briefly.

She could pull him by his chain, drag him anywhere she pleased, and he would go without a fight. Just to hear her say those words was enough of a reward for all the suffering he had endured. "And I you. But we can't live on words alone. You said you were hungry." And with a real, genuine smile, Damian took her by the hand and led her down to the kitchen where anything she wanted was available by the touch of a button. He'd made sure to have everything updated and to working order, just like the house on Veratia. Druis may have been a mostly rural world, but that didn't mean he had to live like a simple farmer.

Raquel skimmed through the menu, not letting go of Damian's hand for a second. She tapped the icon for soup and ordered something hearty bu bland for her stomach, knowing despite her pallets choice, she shouldn't jump into soemthing spicy just yet. "What about you love?" She asked softly, looking back at him.
She had noticed the small changes here and there throughout the house. It had been made more modern in her absence and she had noticed what little of the landscaping she could see, that it was indeed very nice. Nat had done a wonderful job.

"Whatever you choose. Whatever you think I'll like." As he stood there, waiting for her to press the button for whatever dish, he couldn't help but stare. He wasn't even aware how ridiculous he looked standing in nothing but his boxers, but how could he be mindful of that when Raquel was standing right beside him?
