*hugs Scorchy* hope it does help having a rant, it's no fun when you don't have a good relationship with a parent cry but you have your whole life ahead of you and all that blah, so don't let it get you down for too long heart

*hugs Scorchy too* It's horrible when you don't get on with a parent - I had that problem (OK, a very long time ago, but I still remember it all too well...). As Daisy says, you can move on and away from it, so don't be too depressed by the situation. And you can always rant here, all you want! heart

I haven't seen David for at least 5 weeks, his department are into their fourth week without having a single day off. Who do they work for? The NHS. Are they doctors? No. So why the hell should they be treated so appallingly (I'm in no way saying doctors/nurses etc should be treated badly, just ranting out of desperation here)?! scream
At first the overtime was because of two arseholes who fiddled the books & therefore got fired which caused everyone to work extra until they were replaced. Then it was a huge amount of things need changing in a stupidly short amount of time. Now it's if the doctors have to do it so do you attitude.
Why won't anyone let us be happy? God I hate this country at times.

sad you're having a rough time of it at the moment aren't you? but if you can hold it together through all this your relationship will be all the stronger for it, and when things start to go your way, it will seem like heaven biggrin

Very true. I'm so happy we've survived so much crap over these last 13 months but I am worried as to how well David is coping with everything.
On another note has anyone heard about the microchips on bins (old news I know)? It's being tested in a few areas at the mo but I think it takes the piss. It's not our fault if our councils don't provide us with recycling things. In north west Leicestershire only paper, garden waste & cans/plastic bottles get recycled. Ove in Nottingham the second bin we had could alternate between garden waste & cardboard/plastic/cans/a lot of other things.
If it ends up being a pay by weight thing we can't afford it, we've already ditched our dentist when he went bloody private. Dad would have to (understandably) up our board. We're a family of four & throw out a lot of rubbish, a lot cardboard is thrown out too because me & Betterware.

i saw the business with the bins on the news, they swore blind that they weren't spying on people rolleyes i don't think they'll start to charge, not while refuse collection is done by local councils, people would just start fly tipping everywhere if they do that.
